Classic pub food and it was delicious. They had to close early though as theyre so short staffed. But Id totally go back.

OMFG!!!Just had the smoked Rib dinner, Louise and Barry McKillican outdid themselves ❣❣I couldnt finnish my dinner!!Extremely tender and flavorful ribs, smoked beans were very rich and had an awesome bite, cloeslaw nice flavors, cornbread with flecks of jalapeno nice flavors nice and moist, chips had a nice crunch not greasy!! ❣❣🥳🎉🎊😀

We visited the Occidental last year during Billy Barker Days. We were staying at the Ramada Limited and it was about a 5 to 10 minute walk (Im on the slower side). The wings and apps were excellent and the local beer cheap (3$ on special if I recall right). The service wasnt the best that night but I believe our waitress was new. They had karaoke which is fun and sang country the whole time - not my style but still a fun time! The Occidental is definitely a must-see if visiting Quesnel. Will be back again

Went for a Concert and had a table by the the Smoking pit so we froze all night as the door was opened constantly. The singer couldnt be understood were we were sitting but the band and the backup singers sounded good. The food was really good especially those Cauliflower thingys they serve.

The hotel is very popular at lunch time with families with young children. This is the cities most popular live music venue.The hotel is very supportive of local talent as well as popular acts from around B.C.One of the newer offerings is a mussels dish. This has a very tasty broth.The seating also allows configurations for any size group.The pool table has been removed to offer a new more private seating area.The Hotel continues to accommodate guests suggestions.

Best place to have really good entertainment and delicious food at the same time. Come for the food and good service and stay for the music. Great artists from across whole Canada and the food is delicious too. Follow them on Facebook to stay tuned with their events.

I have eaten here many times in the last year and a half, for lunch and has always been great.The fresh local food and friendly staff have made each visit more than worthwhile.

We had my friends bachelorette/ bachelor party here and the staff was fantastic. The food was great and each bartender has a signature cocktail. Such an amazing experience

It Gettings Rocking around there....Sum good people and food....lots of cold drinks....patio for fresh air.....and always sumthing going on......bring your buds and have a time.

It was okay. Seemed like the staff was all in highschool with the drama and the way the acted. I got the beef dip and it was very dry and honestly had no flavor

We were in Quesnel for the Dean Brody concert and tried to go to the restaurant next door to the Occidental. They were closed due to a private function, but they recommended the Occidental. I had never been before, but was really impressed! The food was amazing and the staff was fun and friendly. We will definitely be back! I hadnt reviewed a restaurant before and before I knew it, I had only given you 1 star. This was an accident, but didnt know how to fix it. I was so impressed with Quesnel. I had always just driven by. It was nice to stay for a weekend!

Entertainment was good. Had fun with friends. Experience with bar staff was lacking because I had to use debit which apparently was an issue. Will give it another try in fairness to the owners. Maybe my experience next time will permit a higher rating. I understand the debit policy however the way it was presented to me was pretty harsh. I am not a child so the condescending attitude was quite unnecessary. However I still left a 25% tip. #LetsGuide

Went to the Occidental for lunch. On the owners suggestion, we had a (locally sourcedburger - delicious, along with a craft beer. The food was great, service was friendly, and prices were good.As well, you get a great view of the pedestrian bridge over the river.

Great menu choices and the food is amazing, very friendy and helpful service. The best local family run business in Quesnel, and they host so many fun and entertaining events. If you can only check out one place in while in Quesnel make it the Occidental.

Food is almost always great, service is always good and fast, could improve seating and bathrooms.

Mechanical bull. Drinks. People. Its alright but one of few places to go for a good time.

I played a show here on tour recently and was really impressed. Clearly, a lot of passion and integrity went into creating this venue. Management is friendly and professional, the sound and lighting systems are top-notch, and the onion rings are fantastic. Highest recommendation!

First time in Quesnel and I took in a show of the local Foxxie Follies Burlesque troupe. The Occidental is an awesome venue for live shows, great staff, good food, and some spicy jalapeño peppers on their nachos that will set the back of your mouth on fire. 5 stars

Best steak Ive ever had, incredible baked potato, and perfectly steamed veggies. Good job guys!

Always surprised at how good the food here is. I recommend the cheesesteak, and order a side of their au jus (which should have its own food group).

Excellent! We had a burger, blt, and Caesar salads. The beef is local, everything was excellent. Good water, exceptional service, great ambiance.

The menu here consists of mostly burgers. There is however a variety of appetizers of different cultures and the burgers are one of a kind

7pm on a Monday was quiet. Prompt service from the fellow running the bar. Barkerville Brewery on tap. I ordered the jalapeño burger based on numerous recommendations from friends and was not disappointed. They use local beef here and it was prepared to perfection. This restaurant is more of a cabaret with a large stage and frequent live entertainment.

The food is amazing! They always have great bands playing as well! Highly recommend!

Great place in Quesnel offering music, variety, and entertainment shows of all sorts. I saw the burlesque show here during Billy Barker Days and it was absolutely packed.
