9 Conduit St, Mayfair, London W1S 2XG, Dover
Quirky, 18th-century townhouse tea room that transforms into a cocktail lounge every evening.
sketch is the most unique place I have eaten at. I had breakfast in The Parlour. The neon lights gave a bit of a 90s electric vibe (which I loved). The chairs from table to table were different, but it all flowed nicely together. The staff were all lovely and very attentive. My cup of water was never empty as they were always there to top it off. Ive never eaten at a restaurant that does that, but it really showed just how much they care for their patrons and are paying attention to what you need without you even needing to ask.I had a waffle with vanilla Chantilly & mixed red fruits and a side of toasted sourdough bread. To drink I had the C-bomb (very fresh and very goodand chai.If you want to eat somewhere with unique atmosphere, fantastic staff, and good food, this is your place.
Wonderful quirky restaurant, polite and clean staff. It was my birthday so they had a little candle in a macaroon, which was a nice touch. Perfect place for a nice occasion. The dress code says dress with character but me and my partner were the only two people in colourful clothing. Only 3 options for nonalcoholic cocktails and the waiter acted strange when we said no to wine. The food was good and the atmosphere was nice. Not clearly accessible for wheelchair users
Very cool place with different theme rooms. We had dinner at the gallery, which is a beautiful upscale restaurant (people properly dressed up). Food was excellent and some options were fairly spicy in a good way. Drinks were also great. The bathroom and pod bar were very cool to explore as well as having a peek at other rooms.
I have always wanted to visit sketch Bar London and finally got the chance. I was blown away by the amazing atmosphere - it was so different from what I had expected. The drinks were really good and the overall experience was unforgettable! Its a place I would definitely recommend to my friends.
Went for afternoon tea and it was the perfect close-out to my trip in London. For those going solo, the website doesn’t allow you tobook for 1, so I booked for 2 but in the notes section called out it would just be me as well as emailed and they took notice of it promptly. Definitely block out a couple of hours, I was there from 1:30-4, enjoying the experience but also engaging with the table next to me.
This is my favourite restaurant. Now it is pricey but worth it for a treat. Had to visit the gallery after the redesign, I do miss the pink but the yellow is gorgeous too.My favourite dessert is still on the menu which made me very happy. Very attentive staff.
Overpriced for what it is. Slow (very slowservice. You are paying highly for location/cool bathroom/status, that is it. Underwhelmed by the food. We’ve ordered a second round of drinks to go with the mains (including wine to pair with the fish): drinks never came, despite chasing and re-asking for the drinks twice. Staff is very out of sync. The bread and butter came after the starters. We said “no thanks” to the dessert menu. 5 min after, another waiter comes in and hands over dessert menus to all of us without even asking (we laughed). The issue here is not the staff, but the higher management not creating better service structure or training the staff accordingly.
Came in for the set menu lunch because we fancied something special/unique for a change. The restaurant decor is amazing and visually the place is stunning. Seating is a little low to the ground but perfectly acceptable.First negative is the drinks. Any and every drink is very expensive. We settle for a 2 course set menu and the food itself was very nice. The bouillabaisse was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to anybody. The gnocchi were very good too.Tip and Charitable donation was added automatically to any bill no matter size of party or total bill which is a pet peeve of mine.I probably wont come back for a while but I would recommend this place to people that have never visited before.
Took the wife here for our Anniversary. First ever visit, and it was great. We ended up having afternoon tea in The Gallery - which is a great experience if you have never gone before. Really enjoyed everything from the decor to the variety of sandwiches and pastries. The staff were very professional and helpful
The “it” place for high tea. Leave an empty stomach because it is very filling even if you just order the base menu option. The main pink room is where it’s at, with the live music and direct access to the futuristic looking bathrooms.
Probably best service I experienced. All the staff was just so welcoming. Loved the tour at the end. Oh. And food is well worth it
Honestly I am now much less interested in the new cuisine and food decorations and dishes looks regardless of the taste and authenticityWe booked a table at this nicely furnished and perfectly decorated with avant-garde all the wayThe oysters with purée of sardine and onions topped with frozen banana ! What is this idea come from ? Planet Mars :and the sol fish is made with sweet and tasted like dessert not fish !seriously the dishes looks good but not the taste and the place with its DJ bar and Classy bar also it’s one of a kind bathroom eggs shape is beyond coolWe enjoyed the seating and the drinks but not the weird food combination and tasteCall me an old fashion guy when it comes to food authenticityThe 3 stars here are just for the location decorations and artwork and the environment as a whole regardless of the food artistic work
The venue was BEAUTIFUL. Amazing and very unique experience. The bathrooms for the gallery room are a very interesting experience in themselves. I attended dinner in the gallery room. The portions were comically small and completely devoid of any flavor. The drink were good, as was the bread basket I got as an app. The main course followed suit, although the portion for the pan fried tomato and prawns was decent, the flavor was non-existent.This is the kind of place you go for drinks and the unique visual experience. Myself and 4 friends spent 500 pounds and still had to go off and find pizza to satisfy our hunger.I probably wouldnt go again unless it was for the vibe, they can keep the food.
Food was great, the portion sizes are massive so if recommended sharing sides. Beautiful decor and friendly staff. The only downside is that bookings are back to back so the meal can feel quite rushed.
I went to sketch for my birthday with my friends and we loved the aesthetic design of the restaurant which is modern european. The waiters are extremely friendly and professional and the food was superb as well. Definitely recommend it!
Overall, the experience did not excite me enough to recommend it or to return. Food quality and taste was really average. Service was really slow with many hick-ups in the orders. Plus, it still costs ~80 GBP per person. However, I want to emphasize that waiters were really friendly and the restaurant with live music really cool.
If youre looking for a place to have an Instagram-worthy meal in London, Sketch is the place for you. The food is average, but the interior is incredible. From the moment you step inside, youre transported into a world of art and luxury. Even the bathroom is a work of art, with with its bright white atmosphere and the unique pods. If youre looking for a truly unique dining experience, Sketch is worth a visit.
I was worried this place was going to be all style and no substance, but I’m happy to report I was wrong. Very creative and interesting dishes, most of which tasted good too. Service was phenomenal. I had a lot of questions about the menu (because it’s so creative), and the staff was very knowledgeable.“Surf & turf” tartare was a standout, as was the vegan tomato entree. Chantilly lace dish a bit overrated; bisque was delicious, but the rice components just fine.
Mia you are truly a delight, thank you for your lovely conversation and pointing out the Love light!Eggs Benedict with Gluten Free Toast, and Streaky Bacon. An Açaí Bowl, a Waffle with Vanilla Chantilly fresh fruit and caramel sauce. And the best cup of Oolong Tea I’ve had, I may be ruined in the states. Sketch is not just dining it’s quiet the experience. While the art itself is worth the visit the food was okay. Would we return, yes but likely for the luncheon menu.
As always Sketch delivered. Amazing afternoon tea. Every sign thing we ate/drank was perfect. The staff were attentive and professional throughout and we felt very well looked after. If you want to taste food that is the essence of that particular flavour you need to come to sketch. The pistachio dessert we had was the essence of pistachio, amazing!
I had a very nice birthday lunch in the Glade today. Our waitress was friendly, polite, and took extra care to make sure we had an enjoyable day. The food was delicious and the room had a good atmosphere. It’s a great way to spend the afternoon. I’ll come back for tea next time!
This design tea house/bar is just fabulous! Each room has its own style. Some seems in the fairytale, some in the future world. All decorations are amazing! The WC is a must-see! I just couldn’t believe my eyes when I entered the WC for the first time. Had wonderful experience here! Recommended to family and friends already.
My friend and I had dinner in the Gallery room. We ordered 2 dishes from their featured “tomato” menu, and both choices were both flavourful. We also shared onion rings and the rice as sides, which were great as well. The service is where this place loses a few points. They are extremely attentive to food allergies which is appreciated, however a bit aggressive in the approach. We asked a few different servers for sharing plates and water, and it took a while for both things to arrive. All in all, the ambience and atmosphere were fun for a dinner night out.
I had dinner in the Gallery Room. The décor and vibe are fantastic. The food was subpar, but I honestly expected that. The thing that surprised me most was the service, which was pretty terrible! It was impossible to flag a waiter down and when we’d finally get one and ask for water or side plates, we’d never receive them. I also had to send my cocktail back, as it wasn’t what I ordered. Overall, quite disappointed.
What a lovely dinner!! My family had a great time here. Honestly I thought this place was famous for just a concept. However, food was outstanding and the waitress are very friendly and nice. You should visit when you have a chance to come to London😚
A pretty interesting concept restaurant with different rooms and different themes. Was inside The Glade and had their vegetarian menu (I think its all vegetarian here). Was pleasantly surprised at the food, definitely something interesting and unique. Would probably head back to try a different room, heard the high tea there is not to be missed. Oh side note, the toilets are an experience too. Individual pods you step into so the whole place is unisex.
I’ve seen this place everywhere on Instagram and finally had the opportunity to try it for breakfast myself. I was afraid that it was just an overrated restaurant but it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff is very attentive and kind. Everything is a bit pricey but you get good quality food and nice portions. My scrambled eggs were very delicious!
Reviews for afternoon tea and lunch at Lecture Room.It was first time for me to visit Lecture room section of Sketch. Omg, that was AMAZING. I say skip afternoon tea and go straight for lunch here. Every dish and every details were well thought of and nothing disappointed me.As of afternoon tea, this was my second visit.I really like their food and ambiance but like other reviewers mentioned, the tea service is extremely slow. I would say refill would take good 10-15min so make sure to order very much ahead of time. My waiters were very nice and helped me understand the food very well though. Even though everything was great, caviar service was way worse than before. It was all smashed and felt very old.I would say this is good to visit at least once kinda place. I recommend to go Lecture room instead.
One of the places in town that never disappoints. The interior is truly stunning and I love the redesigned yellow room. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I have been here for breakfast and dinner every time great experience. Afternoon tea is next on my list to try
This restaurant beside very nice teatime. It also has very beautiful design and special toilet famous worldwide - Egg Toilet. First time I came there for teatime it full. I comeback next day for breakfast and sit in a special beautiful room. I love it. The breaky also worth the money. I will comeback.on my next visit
Wow! Absolutely stunning! This was my first high tea and I loved every moment of it! It’s very pricey (would anticipate spending about 100£ per person gratuity is included in this costbut would say it’s worth it to treat a friend or family member. There are unlimited drinks so we tried 7 different pots of tea. Unlimited water and coffee is included (we got a cappuccino and a flat whitewhich is also very good, and they offer non-dairy milk options. There was live violin music and everyone was incredibly customer service oriented. There was a group of young girls having a tea party behind us and seemed to have a fabulous time as well. Would highly suggest this to anyone interested!! There are also unlimited sandwiches so you will not leave hungry, I ended up taking the fourth course to go!
Fabulous afternoon tea for our anniversary. Food was delicious, a slightly different spin on the normal, traditional sandwich fillings, but well received. Service was also excellent, especially Filippo, who was attentive and made us feel very welcome. Great experience in an arty environment. The toilets were quirky, unique and exceptionally clean. Loved it.
What a lovely experience this was. If you love hightea- this spot is a must. Come dressed tho, cause there were alot of photo opportunities. Good food, great ambience, friendly staff. Their scones was my highlight! Absolute love.
Different but satisfying experience by all means. Service was spectacular. Wine list is different but includes the best wine selection you could think of.Food tasting experience was interesting and the taste is excellent. It’s amazing variety of food that you never thought it would work together but surprisingly it mixes well in your mouth.Expensive but definitely worth it.
Great place, great concept, great service - simply amazing experience overall. Loved the food and the cocktails. Best part thou, in my opinion, is the funky toilets - just go there and bring your camera, you wont regret it!Wished I was here with a special person but... well, it is what it is...
Went to sketch for the first time and was very excited to visit. When we booked We made them aware that I was vegan, and they also contacted us 2 days before to ask if there were any dietary requirements, so I hoped there would be a vegan main available to order, but there was none. I had the potato starter (which was delicious), and then had to order a green side salad and chips to “compose” some sort of a main. For the level of the restaurant and service I found it disappointing that the menu doesn’t cater not even for one vegan main. It was enough to have a salad with more toppings on the menu… nonetheless the service was great and my friends had fish and found it very tasty.
This place looks amazing and the service is great, but thats as much as I can say about it. The food was not very good and the prices are extremely high for what you get. I dont mind paying a lot for a good meal or an experience, but I felt ripped off here.
the place is absolutely unique. each of the three spaces is magical. great menu, variety of fresh ingredients and perfect combinations. restaurant quite large, lots of tables. a bit noisy but its a nice restaurant buzz
This was the second time I went to the sketch for afternoon tea. The decor now is much nicer than before. However the service is still much the same, incredibly slow.We enjoyed the music and the food but the tea refills were incredibly slow. We had to keep asking for our tea which isnt acceptable at an establishment such as sketch. Im not sure I will visit again because this place is more of a try it once for the novelty of it place. If you want a nice afternoon tea experience, there are plenty of options in London.
Like many before me, the experience overall was excellent. I am not an afternoon tea person but the theme, the space, the service and the music made it. The eggs in the washroom could use a small light inside and a vent as I did encounter an unpleasant one from a prior use. The amount of traffic caused by selfies was a little too much for a washroom though. Maybe a little less photos on the stairs would be appreciated. The service was good. When it was on, the staff were all attentive and quick. All made the effort to converse and connect. We had small delays which was strange as many around had much quicker service. The only let down was the food. Presented beautifully. The macrons were way too sweet (my fault for having a Ladurée prior to my visit), the sponge cake was dry and scones were slightly too moist. Sandwiches were good and the marshmallow excellent. I didn’t try all items as many were cheese based.Overall the rating is good. I got to enjoy two hours relaxing and forgetting my day. As a tea experience if you are into this tradition, I am sure it is excellent but my other afternoon tea experiences were always a hit food wise which Sketch let me down a bit. The only item I cared about (sconespaled compared to ones I have had prior.
I went for the afternoon tea with my friends. Love the atmosphere and the staffs were so friendly and attentive. The tea selections were nice and I love the refillable teapots. And dont forget to go to the most instagrammable toilets to take pictures.
Yes the toilets are cool. The music is great, but the food doesnt even come close.Starter: Chantilly Lace, rice and lobster bisque. The bisque was only warm and more creamy than anything. Hard to find the lobster flavour there. The rice doesnt really suit itMain: Sole meuniere at £45+. Not hard, but not tender and absolutely no taste in the fish. Also stuffing a fish with mushroom is a terrible match for fish!Dessert: the best part was the black sesame ice cream, but again terribly matched with lemon. The hazelnut creamy puff was terrible.Good to visit but very disappointing to eat here. Service Charge at 15% is a joke.
One of my favorite spots in London. Im a big fan of the interior design and art, they do an amazing job. And you have to check out the bathrooms. A truly unique experience for afternoon tea. Come VERY hungry and expect high prices for the experience. I will say my first visit, the service was incredible. The second visit, the waitress was a bit sassy about my friends severe nut allergy, other than that though, highly recommend.
The atmosphere is good. Live music makes the afternoon tea more enjoyable. Freddie look after us really well and took time to chat to us. The food especially the sandwich is really nice. Definitely will come back again.
Unbelievable. Very attentive and friendly service, amazing wine list, you could spend a weekend reading it. Great champagne options to start with.Fantastic food easily 10/10
We had such an amazing time tonight at Sketch. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. The food was inventive and on the whole delicious (one dessert I just didnt like, but I am sure thats down to personal preference). The surroundings are quite spectacular and really quite unique. Highly recommend this place for amazing food, interesting cocktails and unique surroundings.
Amazing tea in a lovely, surprising setting. Quality of food and service excellent. Good price. You even get live violin music whilst you eat.Amazing decor. Will be back.
Amazing place! Superb staff, food and truly unique interior (including the bathrooms!!!). Totally recommend! Had an amazing brunch there. Thank you, guys!
Lunch (Library & Lecture Room). Extraordinary experience. The building and the decor is incredibly unique. Great service with an almost theatrical execution, friendly staff, attention to detail and care across all elements- from the service to the food, and from a culinary perspective- a very high standard. The venison was one of the best plates of food I’ve ever enjoyed. Desert wasn’t as spectacular as anticipated but still multifaceted and complex. Overall, very memorable and absolutely worth the visit. Look forward to enjoying the other rooms soon. Completely worthy of its 3 Michelin Stars.
We have visited the glade for breakfast the decorations were amazing. Every single detail was perfect. Food was excellent and staff friendly. Unfortunately they only give you about an hour to enjoy the breakfast so the stay was quite short. Would love to come again to a different room
