parc national marin de Kisite-Mpunguti - National park in Wete, Tanzania
Perfect for anyone looking to spend a few hours in the ocean. Take a boat ride to Wasini Island and if youre lucky you might encounter some dolphins 🐬 on the way.
Great views especially in the morning
We enjoyed a fantastic day in the Marine Park with a private boat tour with Mohammed (+254 712 619 043, $70 for 4 paxinstead of the group trips sold in hotels (20 pax on a Dhow). We went from Diani Beach to Shimoni intersection by Matatu (KSh 200and with a Boda Boda from there to the Park (KSh 150). The snorkeling around Kisite island is (stillvery worth seeing, however, I feel the park needs to do more about conservation.
How i wish humans could breath underwater 😍😍. Very beautiful place with beautiful marine life. Very enjoyable if you go with your family Or friends.
Very Much long Boat ride to here.
Great park. We went out n saw the dolphins. Swimming was fun on the islands. Boat ride was a great experience
I had the best experience ever,Very nice people, views and food. Id definitely go back to this place anytime
Peaceful and worth visiting
Fantastic experience...good local seafood too
This place is awesome. From rich coral reef for diving and snorkeling.
Amazing marine park with plenty of corals and fish varieties. Nice KWS facility and a newly built jetty for small boats make this a superb location to visit. And if you are lucky you get to see dolphins too.
Too busy and not very well organize.
My dolphine experience was epic
One of the best places Ive visited in Mombasa,,,great experiences for both family and friends....highly recommend👌
Such an amazing place, I can’t wait to come back again
Great wonderful experience.
Derived from “wasini mpunguti” meaning short Chinese.Only has footpaths of sharp old coral or sand. There are no cars, carts or bicycles. Natives here rely on tourism & fishing 🎣 as their source of income. Notable for dolphins🐬& humpback whales 🐳. Its a Treasure
This place boasts of amazing water wildlife such as the dolphins which are a sight to behold
During our stay in Mombasa, a friend suggested us to visit marine park to see dolphins and get a chance may be swimming with them. Unfortunately swimming is a big dream to reach and see them is a chance also. Anyway we continued to island and all way became meaningful. The sea and beach was really wonderful. Underwater is also amazing. It is recommended to visit park and escpecially, go to island and beach.
Beautiful waters. Friendly guides. Great experience
great place for people with good swimming skills. the shallow waters of the of the marine park offers a good swimming ground with very clear salty waters. the tour guides offer great snorkeling experience with a view of the coral reefs and a variety of marine life. with lack on your side, you can be able to see the dolphins swimming alongside the dhows. no single use plastics are allowed in the park.
Best vacation place for snokerling and watching dolphins 🐬
Absolutely beautiful. Recommended for many visitors.
Beautiful. Snorkeling experience is worth it
Ooooh my word, that Island... This is a great place to be. Very underrated. Theres dolphins on the way. Amazing beach, that blends with the glazing sky. Plenty of fish to view during snorkeling. And just lots of fun.
The under water water photos are just it! Go early to see the dolphins. Carry some water for the journey. An experience you wont regret💯💯
Amazing place
Watching dolphins is super 👌Never been to the kisite marine park? This is where youve the highest chance of seeing the dolphins in Kenya.
The best experience I have had since the start of Covid-19. The park was amazing and viewing the dolphins was really nice. While on the boat (MV MuniraI had fun with songs. The park was beautiful and the water was really cold. Snorkeling gave me the chance to view the Wonderful coral reef- the nature that surrounds us.But what troubled me was seeing a dead turtle 🐢. It died due to eating plastic thrown in the water so kindly when visiting remember to carry your own water bottle, do not litter especially with plastic and plastic wrap #keepwasiniclean #protectmarinelife.
The boat/dhow ride to wasini island was awesome. Got to view some dolphins on the way.
It is quite an adventure, the staff are amazing and very helpful
The coral and fish are amaizing.. The dolphins too 😍
The place and the surrounding is just heavenly...no good words to describe
Such a beautiful marine reserve; lovely coral reefs and therefore lots of life for diving or snorkelling. Well worth a trip.
Wonderful Destination. A must go place to see the Dolphins!! Snorkel etc
One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Definitely go snorkelling to see the diverse stunning aquatic life in the coral gardens. Crystal clear waters, beautiful white sandy beaches.
A very good destination for watching dolphins, snorkeling, Wasini Island Tour, sea food lunch, dhow safari, swimming, sand bathing and soo much more. We have always visiting there. We can take you there too to enjoy.
Dont you think its amazing how tides work!? Imagine going somewhere by boat and walking back the same way you went!? Well thats kinda the feeling around here, amazing! You can spot the dolphins, snorkel with them for a while, watch out the reefs, go for lunch on Wasini island and meet the Vumbas community, theyre pretty interesting, trust me. Just to poke your curiosity, they dont intermarry to other tribes but they can marry their cousins on the mothers side. Well now you are interested...
The Kisite Marine Park Is a beautiful snorkeling and diving site. It’s ovet an hour into the sea, so the waters get a little choppy. Marcopolo tours handles our day very well with a dive great guide for 3 people, followed with a tour of the Beautiful Wasini island!! Great food and tour around the Wasini village! Definitely have the lunch here and the 15 min tour around the village. Check out the Swahili lunch spread pics :)
Great Place for snorkling. Also quite some dolphins (at least on the way out to the reef). Please note that Fins is not included when you pay for a snorkeling tour here 👎🏻🏊🏻♂️The lunch at the close island was not good and they made sure to carve extra for all drinks
Really a wonder of the world. A must visit even if the dolphins are a no show
Kisite is one of the most amazing marine parks I have been to ever!I recently went back for the second time after my first trip last October. It is about an hours boat ride from Shimoni on shared boats that offer very affordable packages including transport to and from different places such as Diani and Mombasa, Lunch and a tour around Wasini island. The waters are so blue and clear which blends in very well with the blue sky and only interrupted by the view of Wasini island, the mountains in Tanzania and the occasional boat. The corals are amazing to view when snorkelling and even better when scuba diving which I did last time. I could write on and on about Kisite but I would rather share the pictures and hope you visit the park on your own.
Visiting this marine park is must have in your bucket list if touring the Kenyan south coast. My visit here last was memorable; you can enjoy the stunning seascapes around. If luck is on your side you get to pods of dolphins on the hunt. The coral next to the park are very rich with different sea animal species and thus the snorkeling experience is unforgettable. The guides and boat fellows ensure you get to enjoy the adventure. The rates charged by KWS and also hiring service for boats are very reasonable. Dont worry even if you are in large group there large boats for hire. KWS also have accommodation facilities near the shore in case you plan to stay around.
Great snorkeling experience, saw 2 dolphins and the water is very clear. At low tide you get to play on a small beach that forms in the middle of the reef
Going snorkelling? Youll love the rich coral reefs and beautiful fish and even get a chance to swim with dolphins. Great experience overall.
Absolutely breathtaking. This area is just a dream come true. Beautiful clear water where you can see life thriving everywhere. Its not easy to get here from Mombasa but there are many companies that do safaris and snorkeling (which I highly recommend).
Wonderful experience down there but if not used to water travel it may be that scaring to get there as the bought is tossed up and down by water waves
The guides are amazing and very kind and caring. We spotted dolphins and did snorkeling which was really amazing. If you are looking for a place to do have fun and relax this is definitely the place. We met a man called Roy who was nothing short of amazing. This was the peak of our stay.
Tour to the islands was amazing and snorkeling. It was a fun experience.
Amazing place to dive or for snorkling. Live reef..
