We read the reviews before trying it out. As with most of the reviews state. The food is fa tastic! We ate in and had the brisket with fries a d slaw. Fried chicken sandwhich, fries and slaw. Brisket sandwhich, fries and slaw. Big helpings of food. Sooo much flavour. Well done!!

Servings were huge, hamburg special was delicious. Great pork and beans with real strips of pork in it... didnt know folks still did that. Dont judge it for its ambiance but be prepared with an appetite. Improvements-Bathroom could be a bit tidier.

Cant beat their lunch special!! 12$ for your choice of sandwich, one side and beverage. We loved the cosy ambiance with picnic tables and smoky scent. Their fries ere delicious!

Just stopped in here for the first time. I had chicken and ribs and the wife had pulled pork sandwich. Absolutely delicious and the guys are super friendly! Everyone in here is recommending the brisket so next time we shall try the brisket. Keep up the good work, see you again!Update before this review is done, sampled the brisket. Weve been in Nova Scotia for four days and this was the best meal that we have had yet. Should be five stars but the corn bread was fried too hard; though Id order it again guessing that this was a misfire. Loads of value for the portion size. It was busy but should be busier. Get on the phone or drive down and place an order.

Picked up lunch on route from Keji to Edmundston. Enjoyed our brisket sandwich and smoked spicy chicken wings. The meat dishes were tender, well cooked and flavourful. Hubby would have liked a bit sauce on the brisket but wifey prefer less and taste and smell the smokiness; not mask the true flavors. It came with mac and cheese, cornbread, chili and beans.

Love Backyard BBQ, you really cannot go wrong with what you choose from their menu. My husband and I usually get an ultimate poutine with brisket once a week - it is so good!! Their fries are also amazing, and the owners are so friendly :)

We had the burger of the day, which was a smoked buger patty on top of a crispy chicken filet. It was fantastic! I also tried the fresh made potato salad which was very creamy and delicious. Defiantly going to get the potato salad again and I hope they run that same burger again.

Stopped in here for lunch on the way from Halifax to Charlottetown. Great little local BBQ restaurant. The lunch combos are excellent, any sandwich or burger with a side and drink for $12 between 11am and 2pm any day of the week. Smells so delicious inside. No outdoor seating, but they have indoor picnic tables. Very nice ambiance, clean tables. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Clean bathrooms.

This is a gem of BBQ restaurant, where portions and services exceed expectations and charm, wonderfully located in Amherst NS. I had the beef poutine brisket, it was amazing afew months ago and I cant wait now its BBQ season.

One of the best places I’ve ever been, very friendly workers and a great price for the amount of food you get. Mac and cheese along with baked beans are delicious and are a great pairing with the best and most flavourful brisket. The sauces are unreal and the fries are a perfect crispy and delicious. Can’t go wrong with eating here!

Absolutely exceeded expectations - probably THE BEST brisket I have ever had. I also had a half rack of ribs and chicken wings. Everything was so flavourful and not over smoked - juicy too. Looking forward to going again :)

Outrageously good food. Prices were fantastic and portions were huge. Owner was also very pleasant and welcoming. Highly highly recommend this place. We went on a Saturday at noon time and there was barely anyone in there. By the quality of the meal, you’d think the place would be lined up out the door! Going back again no question.

Had the Brisket sandwich & Fries. Sandwich was Below average. Dry brisket, hardly any sauce, coleslaw also dry.Fries were AMAZING. If it wasn’t for the fries I would have given 2 stars.

Huge portions and delicious. Second time there however the amount of sauce on the pulled pork sandwich was embarrassingly small. I got take out this time or I would have brought it up. Im talking like less than the amount of ketchup youd get on a hamburger from McDs.

The food here is great. Everything has great flavour. It smells so good when you walk in the door. Friendly staff. The only thing missing is grilled vegetables.

This is an incredible bbq restaurant. I have been to many different bbq restaurants throughout the U.S. and several in Canada as well, and these guy do an incredible job. Their prices are really good especially considering that they give you WAY more food then most other places and their food is fantastic. I would recommend this place to anyone anytime.

My friends and I stopped here on our trip from NS to PEI as it was highly recommended by our friend who had worked in Amherst. We were blown away. Prices are great and portions are generous. I ordered the Ultimate Poutine with beef brisket and it was one of the best poutines I have ever eaten! The beef brisket is made fresh every day and you can tell. It was phenomenal. My friend got the brisket sandwich and was very impressed and my other friend had the fried chicken sandwich which she said was juicy, crispy and the perfect amount of breading. The guy who served us was funny and friendly and provided excellent customer service. Highly recommend this place.

We ordered the full rack of ribs and an order of chicken wings, by far the best we have ever had. The ribs were so tender and tasty, the chicken wings were absolutely delicious right out of the smoker, and the fries were very crunchy and tasty! The coleslaw was lacking in flavour, missing that vinegar bite. I would Highly recommend this place.

Had the 1/4 chicken and ribs with Sweet and Spicy sauce with the fries and beans as sides. Chicken was incredibly tender, ribs were fall off the bone, sauce was delicious, fries were absolutely fantastic - crunchy and fresh. The beans & pork was delicious as well. Will definitely be coming back sometime soon. Absolutely recommended. Staff was polite and food was fast and in huge portions.

The best Barbeque I have had since a while. Lots of selection and sides. Order came quick and was delicious. Will definitely stop again. Would drive an hour in the opposite direction to have again.

Brisket and mashed potatoes were excellent, coleslaw was great ,pulled pork was well done . Potato salad and coleslaw were huge portions.
