I came to this place with a friend for lunch. The interiors are nice and the service was really friendly, but the food was, frankly, quite bad. We had two fish-based menus and the fish was just not fresh (the codfish smelled and tasted especially bad, and we could not finish it). All in all, we would recommend to steer away from this place.EDIT: I did not return the codfish to the kitchen to get a new piece, as stated in the response to this review. That must have been someone else who was unhappy with it as well.

Nice place, good food and friendly service. Would give 5 star if it was not for that one male server who wears his covid mask as a decoration under his chin. All the other waiters and staff were diligent to wear their masks correctly. He kind of joked about it...

Kind of pricy but the mussels were good and tasty. Service was fine nothing extraordinary - had to ask for the bill three times. Ask for a table outside or close to the terrace - not in the ally to the kitchen - that’s not a nice place to sit.

Nice restaurant, quiet and peaceful.We tried the shrimps croquettes and was not so enthusiastic than other comments, its good but nothing exciting. The mussels were really good, the portions are quite big.A special thanks to thorbjorn, the waiter, he has been so good with us, the other personnel are really good too, this is definitely the restaurant to go when in Oostende.

Good food and good atmosphere

Lovely dinner, beautiful view, great food and really friendly waiters and waitresses.I had the Belgian blue-white steak and boy was that a tasty piece of meat, cooked to perfection. My wife had the mussels en my son had a kids portion of pasta, which was enough for 2 kids his age, so no complaints there.Hope to visit you again soon!

Mussels and frites are excellent here, with a nice seaside view. The occasional pigeon can come stroll between your feet, but that causes a lot of hilarity.

At first we really liked this place, a bit expensive but the service and the dishes were very nice. But then after few hours me and my friend started to suffer from a food poisoning. So, it completely spoiled our impression of this restaurant

Incredible food, amazing service and beautiful place with the perfect view. All the staff were brilliant and extremely helpful, especially one young boy who got us our trams back to hotel. Highly recommend.

Great place, nice service and good mussels!

Past Sunday we had our lunch there. You got plenty of choice between the menus or you can eat a la carte. I choose a menu and it was delicious. But the others ate a la carte. They were really satisfied having the shrimp croquettes. But having their main dish, they were less satisfied. The meat was overcoocked and chewy. Also some people working there are not the most competent people for the job. It took 3 times to get us the right wine, had to open the bottles ourselves, and our main dish was already eaten when they finally got it right. The boy with the dark curls keeps the place from falling apart. Really kind waiter, fixes the problems the other staff makes, with a smile.

Nice shrimp croquettes and cheaper than in the other restaurants around the area. The service was a little bit slow though.

The toughest and most leathery steak I ever ate. Personnel friendly but no compensation whatsoever. No recommedation at all.

Wonderful wood-like interior, nice decoration, great food, great and fast service. Good menu selection between seafood, three different choices of meat, huge salads and very tasty desserts. Staff is friendly and very professional, speaks at least Flemish/Dutch, French and English. Right at the Albert promenade (dike), easy to stop by, however reservation is recommended as it is a popular place.

Service is extremely slow even when the restaurant is empty. Also, we had to ask for our drinks several times until they brought them.

Went in as a group of six on an afternoon last 08 June 2018.The staff is polite and attentive. They even helped us with their menu since we only speak English. Their service is excellentThe atmosphere is quiet and relaxed since it wasnt a peak period. We were also seated by the window with a great view of the North Sea.The food is great. We had salad, seafood, steak, and pasta. We all had nothing to say but good things about the food. I also tried a local beer that is only brewed in Ostend and it was great.Overall great experience! Might go back here again but would love to explore other restaurants in the area.

Waites 40 min to be served at 3pm, not a rush time tough. Meat was good but cold. Service ok.

I had the mosselen van het huis, mussels with a delicious curry cream sauce and fries, which I truly enjoyed! I ordered a espresso but either I got a regular coffee instead or it was a super sized espresso... I think it is one of the best options in the promenade.

Very good restaurant and not too expensive

Food is great but service was really lacking. When asked for suggestions on wine they didnt have any, and they kept forgetting what we ordered. There was also no English menu available and we had to translate everything ourselves. It wasnt particularly busy when we went, yet it took a long time for waiters to check up on us.

Nice heated patio so you can enjoy a meal by the sea without the sea breeze and the roof can be drawn over when it gets dark / cold. Really nice food and a huge selection of dishes and styles
