Many various shops and places to go to eat. Loads of space for parking, but the lack of lifts in the shopping centre is disappointing. Especially frustrating is the lift not working at any time between the station tunnel and glass bridge. Coming with a buggy is not an option then.

Lakeside Shopping Centre, is a large out-of-town shopping centre located in West Thurrock, Essex just beyond the eastern boundary of Greater London. It was constructed on the site of a former chalk quarry. The first tenants moved into the complex in 1988 and it was completed in 1990, being opened on 25 October of that year by Princess Alexandra of Kent, Marcus Bradford and Angus Ogilvy. New spaces in the red car park were added as in October 2019.The shopping centre, in addition to the retail parks, forms one of the largest shopping areas in a single location within Europe, with almost 2,600,000 square feet (240,000 m2of retail space on a site of 200 acres (0.81 km2). The community of Chafford Hundred has grown to the east of the centre since its opening. Its main rival is the Bluewater Shopping Centre in Greenhithe, Kent, just across the River Thames.

Definitely better than Westfields. Parking is free and spacious. Lakeside has restaurants there on the outside bit and they have puttshack which is a cute date night. Cocktails are amazing!

It’s a nice large shopping center with plenty of variety. Nice that it’s has all the other facilities that are kept in good state, like the toilets. The snack stalls in the middle of the walkways is a good idea.Going during the weekend is always a little dicey, finding parking can take time and inside the shopping center it can consist of navigating around a lot of people. Always better to go during the weekdays. The biggest downside is the food hall. Good luck trying to find a table during lunch time and a hour either side of it.But not a bad place to take the family shopping to get a whole load done in one go.

I liked it here. We went to a few shops and the service was alright. The parking was hard to find on some levels but some are easier to find parking we found it not difficult nor easy. And everything else is good.but unfortunately the lift are never working. We have never really seen these lifts working since 3 years ago so I would like the lifts to be fixed within the time we come here again.but also, there is a ikea and retail park right next to it. It is like a whole area. With the eatery as well. The shopping centre is very complex it has every thing here even with the Quay it has lots of attractions.even a cinema here also a gym and playground and a theme park during Christmas. This has been a very good experience.I would 80% recommend coming here.

Very large shopping centre. Theres everything from food courts to products and entertainment. Most popular brands are available so youd find all sorts of products at different prices. You can literally spend a day shopping. Its accessible by train and bus or you could drive. Its facilities are decently managed, I however had an issue with the fact that there could be clearer signage to help you get to whichever store youre looking for. Spending time looking for a mall board map was exhausting.

If the mindless accumulation of pointless stuff is in your remit, then I guess Lakeside fulfils that agenda. The proximity of all your desired high street shops, under the forever luminescent glow of strip-lighting ensures youre able to consume aforementioned stuff, without any risk of contact with something approximating nature.Lakeside is yet another church to purchases. It works in that capacity.

New hours are 9am-9pm which is fine. It’s the opening times plastered around the centre & the times that appear all over google if you search for their opening times. However, small print: ‘individual store times may vary’ so I’ve been sat waiting for 1 hour for H&M to open since 9am. Why do stores not have to conform to centre opening times? What is the point in being able to walk through a centre with closer shops? I remember working here years ago & shops would be fined if they closed early/open late and maybe you shouldn’t fix things that aren’t broken!

Its was ok today. Finding parking is always difficult as staff take up most of the parking spaces. Most shops have put out all their autumn/winter clothing now.Im going on holiday next week so couldnt find any summery clothing.Food places were not overly busy when we went at around 1pm but service in most places in the Food Court upstairs was extremely slow.

Lakeside has a huge positive for drivers and it is free parking. Not having to worry about parking prices is a relief. The shopping complex is well laid out and has many shops that cater for most high street demands. Toilets and disabled access are decent and there are three floors for shoppers to shop. The third floor is food. Its clean and pleasant.

Hasnt changed in the 30 years Ive been going there. Maybe a smidge cleaner since the smoking ban. Plenty of shops to keep the Essex massive on the road. Could do with fewer people trying to sell you sofas and /or Sky subs as youre just walking about.

Loved it. First time going and there was plenty of activities to stay entertained for the entire day well into the night. Wipeout course is small but still worth the money. Great laughs and fantastic exercise. The arcade/bowling alley (Hollywood Bowlwas also a blast. Plenty of variety it games available as well as the classic ticket earning games if thats your thing. Alcohol available in the arcade/bowling alley (for adults obviously). Plus just around the corner from that is a mini golf course, VR gaming place, as well as a place called Battle Bar which has even more activities to enjoy for adults such as axe throwing. They also boast having the longest and fastest go kart track in Essex so there is literally something for everyone. As well as all the entertainment for adults there is plenty of family suitable activities also. Such as the Nickelodeon area near Hollywood Bowl and the small childrens rides outside the arcade, including a ferris wheel. Outdoor areas were all kept very clean and the landscaping/water features throughout make it a lovely place to go for a stroll. And finally plenty of food to choose from to finish of the day or food stalls to stop at for a quick snack. Honestly was so busy exploring the activities available that I never actually made it inside to do any shopping. But will definitely be going back. And I dont even live near by so thats saying something.

I hate the recent closing time. Seems like whenever I go there within 10 minutes I hear “lakeside shopping centre will be closing in” etc. I used to work at lakeside and I had to work past 10! On Saturdays I wouldn’t get out of work til past midnight sometimes! So you can understand my frustration when I go to a boardwalk restaurant and get turned away for a table at 8:30…

MY GO TO SHOPPING PLACE! Lakeside is absolutely shocking. The shops are very good, the activities that take place around Lakeside is amazing. I recommend it over Bluewater 100%. Great for parents and children as they have put superheros, which you can have pictures with. I love Lakeside with my whole heart, you should too!

Winter Wonderland at Lakeside was excellent. Almost nobody wearing a mask I felt like the exception. The big wheel, Bavarian food ie all the greats were all there. There was a queue to get in to limit the numbers. Took about 30 minutes and it was cold, so wrap up warm.Lakeside generally is a lovely centre, best outside of school holidays as it gets packed

Shopping Centre was absolutely fine. We went to the cinema and we waited over 20 minutes to pay for two bottles of water and a ice blast. The cinema wasnt full at all. It was the staff really slow, Wrong attitude to be facing customers. No energy at all at work. Once we enter to the cinema room to watch Bullet Train with Brad Pitt, the floor was cover in pop corn, and the seats we meant to be sitting dirty as hell as well.Ladys toilet were also very bad. One of the sink was full of pop corn as well. Not a pleasant visit to the cinema.

A go to shopping centre for East Londoners and Essex dwellers. It has most of the famous high street brands plus a John Lewis and Marks & Spencers.Luxury watches, jewellers, Tommy and Dior all there. For kids, there is a climbing wall (payment requiredarea and Nickelodeon to keep them busy. You can take a train here, station just right outside the entrance or drive here with free parking!Food court with decent choice but mostly fast food.

Didnt have much time to explore, unfortunately so definitely need to go back there when I have all day just for shopping and after pay day obviously. Highly recommend though for shopaholic like me, if you wanna spend an entire day in a mall and a ton of money, then thats the place for u.

The shopping centre is big with lots of stores. 3 levels of shops and on the last level you find the dining area. The centre has a nice athmosphere , clean and tidy. The parking lot is very big but still gets full on weekends. Down side with the parking lot are the signs arent to clear some points. The lake is nice you can rent small boats and just hang around the lake. You can spend good hours in the centre. Coming by public transport get off Chafford Hundred train station. Be prepared for heavy traffic on weekends and bank holidays. Best is by car. Close to the shopping centre are many other stores and eat-outs.
