in spring fine asian fuison cuisine - Hot pot restaurant in Halifax, Canada
Hot pot was very cool experience highly recommend
Most of the meat offered were frozen and the buffet doesnt even includes rice, nice view and decor tho
Always a great time here!
A great place to have all you can eat hot pot meal. Friendly service and always come to check on your table. Relaxing and and a beautiful view of Halifax waterfront while you are enjoying your hot pot dinner. I recommend this place for everyone.
waitress is nice and helpful, clean, a lot option, nice view by the window
Super friendly service here! Good food and ambiance! If you need a go-to spot with friends, this is the place!
Visiting Halifax and decided to try this! We had never had Hot Pot and the server was great explaining the steps and making suggestions. It is fun and tasty!
Good flavor, quality is a meh.
Absolutely amazing! We ended up there because of the rain!Amazing atmosphere! Helpful, friendly staff! The food fantastic! If I ever go back to Halifax NS this restaurant is my number one to visit again!
Great experience for a Chinese style dinner. Good food, great service, and it’s all you can eat so this is pretty good with the price. Worth trying out and would recommend friends to come
Overall the food was good. But service is terrible. No refill for drinks , no one checked on our table even tho when it was not busy. So I didn’t give tips due to this. The waitress in the back shirt, she got really mad. She told us next time we have to give tips for somehow. How rude!!! I don’t see the point why I have give tips when the customer service isn’t good at all! LOL
Was a lot more expensive than expected, about 50$ per person. The food was good (but not good enough for the priceand so was service. Make sure you fully cook everything, including veggies as there was a lot of cross-contamination going on (people using the tongs designated for vegies for the raw food).
Very fresh foods and delicious hot pot !! Reasonable price for all those foods! nice location few steps to the waterfront, sat beside window can see the ocean ♥️
I love their chocolate ice-cream and watermelon, and the seafood. Perfect combination of buffet and hot pot🥘, $27.99 for each person, totally worth it!!! Also the waitress is super nice! 👍 My Mexican friend felt so Chinese after eating it using chopsticks🤣
All the food is stale and rubbish doesnt justify its price
Great service, large varietiesCouldnt believe we spent 2 hours there, time flew by. We will be back!
The waitress automatically included 10% for herself in the final bill when punching the machine which she did not let us know and we ended up double tip. This cannot be acceptable. They also put raw meat in the same freezer containing the ice cream. Both lids are open and they are cross contaminated. Be careful.
Fantastic atmosphere, staff, food choices and quality. My first time doing hotpot and wont be my last!
First time coming here and WOW!! My expectations were exceeded!! My friend and I were greeted by a lovely lady who reccomeded what to do and showed us the basics. She constantly helped us and made it all very easy. The food was delicious and kept in a clean environment. Prices are very reasonable, $32 after taxes and I was not disappointed. Not to mention, the atomosphere was great. Got a big tip from me!
All you can hot pot with a great selection and amazing view. 27.99 for the regular buffet before tax. Friendly staff clean facilities and easy to find. Free 1 hour parking. Would definitely return and recommend.
Excellent restaurant experience with the boys. Staff were helpful and friendly especially when my friend couldn’t scoop out the ice cream by himself. Very clean and lots of sauce selections.
Nice chilled spot...went a bit late towards closing time, so didnt get to eat as much as I wanted to lol. Will be visiting again
All-you-can-eat hot pot for only $26.99 per person (before tax)!😍We can choose 2 types of soup for the hot pot. ✌🏻As for the food, we can pick whatever we want from the fridge.😆😆The food includes mussel, prawn🦐, chicken🐓, pork🐖, fish fillets🐟, etc.The environment is great! 😌You can even see the waterfront if you sit near the window!😎If you are meat lovers, you can pay a higher price for unlimited meats. Around $37.99 per person. 🤰🏻This restaurant provides good service and food! Highly recommended!👍🏻
**Muslims, vegetarians and vegans need to be aware of the food and hotpot from this restaurant** Their food labels are not clear, so it is difficult to really judge whether these ingredients have infiltrated pork. especially when your hot pot broth is almost gone, the servers always take the initiative to help you add broth, but these are **PORK BONE BROTH**!!! they never explain when they added the broth. If you dont eat pork, you need to tell them that you only need hot water, otherwise they basically never tell everyone. During the pandemic, I saw many people didn’t wear masks when they were picking up food in the buffet area. some of them were just standing in front of the food and talking without wearing masks. If you really care about that, DON’T GO! Or at least you should wait until the pandemic is over... I went there a couple times, sometimes their food was fresh, but sometimes was not. But I love their location, very convenient to get there.
Absolutely amazing only thing i wish is they had juice for the kids. Other then that Absolutely fantastic definitely will be back.
They were nice people. I think their cuisine was a little off i didnt have a good experience. It was too bland and the broth tasted off. I might not be used to the cuisine to begin with. To keep a note on that. I lost my appetite within 20 minutes and there was already food on the table. people just should be aware what they should be expecting when they come.
we dined here on Feb. 15, had the hotpot premium and we find it was surprisingly good. only con is that the premium is a little expensive (i think 10$ more than the regularand they didnt have a larger bowl and a big spoon to scoop out some soup
Very nice traditional hotpot. Its local taste and totally recommend here!
Do yourself a favour do not go to this restaurantI was in town with a couple of my girlfriends we decided to have a night out we went here waited about five minutes at the door nobody came to Cedars from a distance we heard really loud coughing it was a waitress walking with a tray of food coughing all over the food absolutely disgusting obviously we did not stay would not suggest also I feel the help department should come and pay this place a visit
Very good hot pot. We didnt go for the expensive version but it already has lots of item to choose from. Very happy with the quality.
Wow what a fun food experience. The choices are so authentic/exotic that we had to try it all. We went with another family who are Chinese and they ordered. It was a feast for 10. The service was a bit slow but it was busy. The kids enjoyed doing a lot on their own. Id definitely go again.
Decent food nothing special. Service was a little lackluster. If youre craving a good hot pot there are much better options in the city.
I went with a group, the restaurant was lively and the all you can eat hot pot was plentiful. The service was very good as well.
Loved it. Im full. Lots of variety.
The hotpot was alright but the service was the worst ever... we have to ask for everything and wait for a long time, even for the menu.....at last, when we paid the bill it was like 80ish for two people.. we were really skeptical about the bill but we didnt ask... my friend who went the other day said their bill was wrong, and the staff knew it but they refused to change it! THIS IS VERY WRONG!!!! Definitely check you bill if you have to go to the restaurant.....
Extreme bad service experience ever!!! They put extra things that we didnt order on our bill! How dare you! After i looked into the bill i asked the waitress, she refused to change since the bill was printed! Not the first time there, no more chance for you to fool me again!!! Never!!!
Incredible food, and great variety! I had a lot of fun with the hot pot. We will return soon!
Was a nice experience, pretty bland selection flavor wise. They had a section of ball type things, they all tasted the same despite being labeled as drastically different things. Weird texture like chewing a rubber ball. For hot pot you have a selection of mushrooms and other greens, weird sliced meats, looked like different flavoured canned spam. Selection of fish and crab balls. Range of sauces to add to your pot.****The highlight was definitely the broth and the super thin cut pork and chicken. Was nice experience, cant tell if its authentic, will probably try another place next time.Only one wait staff working and its self serve, so after she sets you up, she pretty much leaves you alone. You can always find her if you need something.
Very bad service and waitness. We also find a bug from the vegetable. never go there.
Good place to have a hot pot buffet, the price is not high and you have many options.
Lots of food choices, price was reasonable and you can get bit of a ocean view if you sit at the windows
Good hot pot style buffet with free pop refills. We are stuffed! Great for cool nights or a healthier meal option. They have a good large dinning space with a good view of the waterside. They are family and child friendly too. Altogether it was a good authentic hot pot meal experience.
Good hot pot and BBQ reasonable price 23.99 includes drink. Food safety should not be a issue.
Food was alright. Service needs to be improved. Had barbeque and worry about food safety issues cause we cooked our own raw meet which was frozen.
Came with a tour group. Had all-you-can-eat hot pot. Food was not bad. Nothing outstanding though.
Our first time there was today and we quite enjoyed it. Clean, bright, comfortable, and tasty.
In Spring has pivoted their business model a number of times over the last year or so, from a sushi restaurant to an AYCE sushi restaurant, to a Chinese AYCE buffet, and now to an AYCE chinese-style hot pot restaurant. Personally, Im a fan of their latest permutation and hope that their rapid metamorphosis has reached its final form. Reasonable selection of meats, vegetables, and assorted other hot pot classics (fish balls, dumplings, tofu, etc.). Premium meats available at additional cost. Broth options good (meat broth, spicy broth, vegetarian broth). Excellent selection of dipping sauces for mixing and matching your own sauce options. Dessert options limited - usually some kind of tapioca-based dessert soup and a selection of unusual ice cream flavours (e.g. blueberry cheesecake, bubblegum). Drink selection the usual domestic beers and soft drinks. Price better than other pot places in town, at c.$25pp
Worst buffet ever, i have been to this place 3 times so far since they openned, first time was not bad 2nd time was ok, yesterday was horrible.Shrimp seems to be in the freezer for ages now too old chicken is gross, i had a stomachache all night and morning .The only good thing there is Jenny the manager super nice And friendly.Food safety should check this gross place.
As a Vancouverite who is married to a Chinese woman and has been to the Peoples Republic on three occasions, I have higher than normal standards for authenticity and flavour when it comes to Chinese cuisine. Although the interior of the restaurant is clean and well designed and the proprietor is very friendly, the food was bland, greasy, and very reminiscent of the countless Americanized Chinese buffets spread throughout North America. Some of the dishes tasted stale and had clearly been out for hours. If you have a taste for even slightly authentic Chinese food, I would not recommend this restaurant.
This review is for when they moved to Salter st.They no longer serve Sushi and do a traditional buffet style now. Despite not serving sushi, I called ahead and asked on the phone if they do. They assured me that they do serve sushi with a menu similar to the Sushi Jet location. Not even close. Its a mix of strangely out of place western food such as fries, onion rings, and roast beef with some asian dishes.Despite going at noon on a Friday, the place was nearly empty. Our waitress seemed confused and did not refill our drinks once or check up on us. The food despite us being there at noon sharp was luke-warm at best, with the best dishes such as the roast beef left empty as we left. The fried food which made up a large chunk of the buffet was greasy and barely warm. Most of the food was under seasoned and lacked flavor. My bill with a pop at lunch was $20, which was very overpriced for what it is and how small the buffet is.This location will not last, and its a shame Sushi Jet moved to a smaller location as they were absolutely fantastic.
