graphite mine in Ceske Budejovice
Description
Privilege
Great to visit aslo with children. Around 10 min.by train to the mine, than by walk, total time around 1.h 15min. Worth to visit.
MoreNice experience traveling back in time! The tour is only in Czech language.
I love
You get to dress like a miner wearing protective gear. They take you in a train into the mine. Better to buy tickets in advance. Its usually full.
MoreWonderful experience
Says it’s open on google, place was closed. When we arrived the door was open, but when we enteren, but the staff got extreamly mad and yelled at us. Website is only in Czech and really confusing.
MoreA very unique experience. Must visit place of Cesky krumlov... Its also possible to book the tour in advance through their website.
MoreGreat Miner experience
Not suitable for foreign visitors
Entertaining, interesting and different. Some small children can be scared of the experience
MoreSuper.😃💪
Nice place
super
Super
Amazing experience.
It was a very interesting experience. But the guide will only talk in Czech, unless the whole group is foreign
MoreGreat overall experience. One star down because for capacity reasons we couldnt go right away and had to come back 2 hours later. If you need a reservation even for individuals, how hard it is to put it on your website.
MoreSuper
Nice graphite
Best
Something different, worth to check
Super 👌.
Excellent tour of a fascinating piece of geology.
Super
Cool mine under Krumlov, good inviews in the life of a miner and graphite production. Only one thing was not understandable - an area living from tourists should offer English guidanse in the middle of Europe in the 21th century! Anyway a great event for all interested in geilogy and mineralogy
MoreAbout 1 hour 30 including introduction. Really fun tour
Super
Fun experience on the ride but no English guide (You have to read the given note during the tour instead).
MoreVery interesting excursion. It is better to book it before
Had to wait over1 hour but we got there.
Great....
Relatively young graphite mine with authentic tooling left on place. Good place for rainy days. Good price /value.At the entrance, visitors are equipped with protection coats, boots, helmets and original mining lamps. Then we were seated into miners train which took us in the middle of the mountain. While walking, various mining equipment was shown to us while exploring dark corners with our headlamps. The tour ends at the foot of the mountain.Graphite mine is a good place for all kind of visitors, including families with children or mining enthusiasts like me :)
MoreNew kind of adventure, ride by train included, not very comfortable ride but special one :they give you the clothes and equipment which is amazing. I definitely recommend it :)
MoreWas amazing! The only reason for loss of star was that it felt quite rushed, after all the effort donning the gear we were only inside for 40 minutes. For €4 I would do it again!
MoreVery nice excursion. Guide was mostly speaking czech, but we received a piece of paper which contained all information in our own language.
MoreHidden treasure, it has value to visit. You will enjoy the ride in mine train. Thumb up.
MoreSuper
Nice tour to see how it was till 2003 when the mine closed (started in 1975). Only guided tours. Guide language in Czech. But translations on paper available. Dont worry if you forgot your socks... They have replacement sleeves available. Luckely for us 😉.
MoreInteresting tour which the guide also translated in English for us. Not a lot of details about life in the mine etc. but anyway a nice visit including a trip in a small mine train.
MoreAwesome attraction, a bit scary at first place, though a valuable insight into miners working environment and overall conditions. Can be also guided in English (on request). Otherwise go with English speaking local to get the best out of it.
MoreOk.
The mine was an interesting experience taking a small train into a mountain on a hot day and then being in a cave that was freezing. I really enjoyed the break from the heat. The mine was cool seeing graphite on the walls. In some areas you could see and touch veins of graphite.
Morevery nice staff, and an awesome experience
Nice but not very special. Would rate it 3.5 stars
Excelent experience
Interesting Graphite mine, tour includes train ride and walkthrough.
so cool !
Very interesting place for visitor of Cesky KrumlovYou go down to the mines with old trainAll visitors get safety vests and old flash lightsDont forget take a jacket with there is 10 degrees of Celsius all year ,take an extra flash light for better viewA lot of fun for whole family and a groupHighly recommended
MoreVery interesting and authentic experience of a Czech graphite mine that was operational until 2003. The guide was very friendly and knew the mines and former miners very well
MoreHighly recommended, it was great!
