This place has really been an extraordinary experience for me, would recommend it to anyone!

Just awesome! A little tricky to find, but if you follow the sign for fort tarakaniw at the E40 (to the right at the cemetery, narrow path into the woodsyou will reach a parking place after 5 minutes. From there its about 20 minutes by foot to the entrance tunnel - whenever there are lot of tunnels and even a bigger entrance a little farther into the woods, following the path. My husband really enjoyed exploring the buildings. Next time we need to find out whether there is a possibility of exploring the underground cellars and bunkers. Definitely a must see!

Remains of a fort that has never actually been used in a warfare.Good for hiking, seek and hide, cinewoops and photos

Amazinf and huge military vuilding. Cab recomend visit it. It close to main road. But be careful its old and not maintained by anyone

Impressive architecture, huge territory. For the first time it is worth to have guide man. Some places are dangerous. And, of course, get lighters.

Very scenic. There were two attempts to demolish it in early 1900s, so its state becomes worse over years. Hurry to visit. Best when accompanied with a professional guide that knows its history

This is impressing place though very destroyed. Must see place in ur (30minalong Lviv - Kyiv road.

do not go out there this month save your time here. there filming a Movie was out there one monday 1st of 2019 the guard was vary unfriendly had a gun.. thought th place was open 24 hours for anyone to be out there... have no idea when the movie will be done if you go wont be able to visit the place dont waste your time

Would have a been a more memorable experience if we actually got into the fort, it started snowing and formed ice patches on the path to the fort, so couldnt make it all the way. Looks like a magical place though!

A very nice and romantic place at the end of 1/3 way from Lviv to Kyiv. This fortification was built at the end of 19th century and should serve as a field hospital and supply depot for the army. Currently is the fort in a very bad condition and you are entering at your own risk, so be careful! Dont climb to the roofs and watch your step by the holes and unstable walls. I recommend you visitting this place at the end of the day when the Sun is lower and the colours are smooth.

Very ancient place with Good atmosphere. Especially interesting was quest when you search for the hidden latters in the dark coridors.

I love this amazing historical and architectural site, however (1it lacks infrastructure and (2it is dangerous to go inside without a guide. At the same time, on a sunny day with a good guided tour one can definitely enjoy this mysterious and remarkable place.

Great and mystic place. This fort placed in forest in the middle of nowhere.Outside of this fort you can see only big walls. But when you come inside by loooong corridor you will be expressed

What a useless black hole for ancient money.

Great sample of historical military architecture. A labyrinth of hallways and stairs. Mystical atmosphere. Lovely spots for camping and BBQ. You must watch your steps and beware of hatchways and manholes especially if You have young kids in company.

An exellent example of fortifications of 19 century, partly ruined. Big and dark galleries required torchlights.

Good place to visit. Many excursions here. Take a flashlight with you.

Very specific and mysterious place. You can find a lot of labyrinths underground, so prepare the flashlight.

Simply unbelievable. Walk through the dark mazes, enjoy the historical architectures and rest your eyes on the green surroundings.

Very interesting place! Take a guide for the tour, it would be much more interesting and safer (as the fort is not in a great condition)! You can google for guides online or find them at the entrance to the fort, they are usually locals who know the place and know its history quite well.

Magnificent fort. 7 underground levels. Not that easy to get into. Watch out for poisonous plants and ceiling bricks that fall down
