The wait wasn’t too bad for it being super busy on a Sunday. We got sat down and waters served to us quick! Our server was the sweetest! She gave us recommendations to their weekly special and made us comfortable. She was very patient with us and our toddler so that felt really nice! Our food came out quick right after we ordered. All of the staff were attentive and checked on us including refilling our drinks! Stellar service and we will definitely be back again! The atmosphere overall was a 10/10. Highly recommended this place for breakfast or brunch.
MoreReally wonderful food. I went twice in a few days and had two incredible casse croutes. A hair understaffed the first visit, slower the next time, but the service was gracious and attentive both times. The fresh juice just put things over the top awesome.
MoreDelicious food!! A bit pricey but worth every penny. The carnitas were tasty and the French toast was one of the best I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back!
MorePlaced an order for pickup and when I got there they hadnt even started on it. The grapefruit juice was full of pulp and seeds, I think they scraped all the pulp out of the juicer into my cup so they wouldnt have to juice another grapefruit. The guy with the moustache (owner?was rude to me. I was being freindly and asked where his foreign accent was from and he got an attitude and said "st louis county".
MoreFood was incredible, and the service was beyond amazing. My friend got the grits special, and it was so good, I got a side of grits to go. As someone from the south, Im pretty picky about grits, and these were some of the best grits Ive had. The shakshuka was much heartier than Im used to, but it was delicious. Finally, the fresh squeezed juices in their cocktails made all the difference. They were all so refreshing and yummy.
MoreThis was our first time here for brunch and I don’t think I will ever be returning back. The customer service is horrible, we had to seat ourselves, get the menu ourselves, neither were we greeted when we entered the restaurant and by the end when we got our cheque the person left the entire POS box at our table and we had to do everything by ourselves, and he couldn’t even say Thank you. There was only one person who came by our table once to ask how the food was and that’s all the interaction we had. But that’s not even the worst part, within few hours after eating there I had the worst food poisoning and 3 days later I am still sick. The food is mediocre at it’s best and they definitely need to work on their customer service.
MoreWhile the food was good, the service was abysmal. My party of 4 arrived when the restaurant was not busy, and not near closing time. We were greeted with disdain by the host who was very clearly unhappy with our decision to eat there. Our server took our drink order within a couple minutes of arriving. We ordered shortly after. I had to request a straw for my child twice. I had to ask for a refill for my coffee twice. My child’s order was made incorrectly so food was served to 3/4 of the table and she was left with nothing, and no explanation. When I asked the server said the kitchen put pecans on the pancakes and were remaking them. With the rest of the party more than half way finished eating, I asked that she bring the incorrect pancakes because my child was starving. Despite being incorrect and waiting more than 10 min for a replacement, the server brought the pecan pancakes. We were still charged for this incorrect item. The French toast and cornbread Benedict were delicious, but the food did not make this unsavory experience palatable. I do not recommend that anyone eat here, particularly not on a slow Friday at mid-morning
MoreVery good food. Fresh, made on site. They make their on syrup and other sauces! Vegetarian friendly. Fast service. Reasonably priced.
MoreFood was amazing! The reason for the lower review was the service. Servers were not friendly or welcoming, very curt and abrupt and wouldn’t let us speak or let us ask questions. But We would definitely come back for the food again. Prices were also a little high for the amount of food you received.
MoreEven though the place is small, we didnt have to wait long. Servers were friendly and on point! Coffee martini was outstanding. Food was delicious and great portions, we had lots of leftovers! Would def. recommend 🤤🙌👌
MoreIve never been so impressed by a breakfast restaurant. And before I mention the food, I have to say how amazingly nice everyone here was. It was like the staff was competing to see who could be the most helpful. But also, the food... Pictured here are the El Cerdo and the Pancakes (which, at least today, happened to have candied pecans). Both were outstanding. The chef came out and explained how the pork was sourced and cooked, and mentioned some other specialties that all sounded delicious.I cant say enough good things about our visit to Egg this morning. Id give it more than 5 stars if I could.
MoreEgg Midtown:What a wonderful experience! 1st experience was so amazing that we went back the next day, same result. Exceptional everything: Food, Staff, Environment I really cant say enough positive things about this place, if you are in St. Louis just go and see for yourself..
MoreThe food here is absolutely amazing! Easily one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in my entire life. I had the daily special in the Barbacoa Grits, and it blew me away. The brisket was fantastic, the grits were great, the poached eggs were perfect, and the tomatillo sauce on top was fantastic. I couldn’t help myself, so I ordered a side of wild mushroom gravy atop some potatoes. It was superb as well. The barista (Kourt, I believedid an amazing job! She was hustling the whole time making drinks, and serving us at the bar. Her skills on the espresso machine were for real. This place is top notch. Please do yourself a favor, and stop in here as soon as possible!
MoreThe food and atmosphere was great. Only thing is the man with the long gray beard was spraying cleaner on an old rag and wiping down tables with his bare hands than he would go handle silverware with his bare hands and touch everything to top it off he had a habit of running his bare hands through his beard than would go and touch everything. Youre serving the paying customers youre not at your house dude.
MoreThis was a visit worth making before leaving St. Louis. Id never had BBQ before - for breakfast. I wasnt for sure that it was possible - and then I found Egg. I was seated at the bar after a short wait, and after perusing the menu, was torn between the "El Cerro" (with Carnitas, jalapeno and spinachand the Pulled Pork breakfast (with Cole slaw). Both were served with 2 poached eggs over hashed potatoes, but El Cerro won out.The hot coffee made my short wait pleasurable, amidst the noise of the crowded, busy cafe. After about 10 minutes, I managed to tuck into a delicious, well-portioned feast. The Carnitas were juicy and savory, and I asked for a side of BBQ sauce to cut the spice of the jalapeno. This was nice. The only complaint I have is that I had to ask for silverware because my server forgot to give me some when I was seated. Ill give it that it was a busy Saturday morning. Other than that, it was a great experience.Ill admit that it was one of the more pricey brunches Ive eaten. That said, this is a wonderfully creative take on Brunch. If you like smallish, intimate spaces that include a bar which serves both everything from Espressos and Cafe Mochas to Mimosas and Bloody Marys, youll enjoy Egg.
MoreIn town from NYC and this place was amazing! Had brunch and did not disappoint. I had the pulled pork omelette that the owner recommended and it was delicious. This is definitely a must visit if youre in the area. Loved it!!!
MoreWow oh WOW! What a find. In St. Louis looking for a nice little breakfast spot and we somehow picked the perfect spot. This cute, unassuming place blew away any expectations I had. Wonderful, friendly, and fast service, with food that’ll take your tastebuds for a ride. The sautéed spinach and avocado cornbread beneditc was heavenly with the corn bread being some of the best I’ve ever had. And the El Cerdo, for those of us looking for just a bit more spice and some meat, was absolutely delightful. Will undoubtedly be back next time I find myself in the area.
MoreThe food was delicious. If you ever had the experience that you cant get enough of it was here. I got the veggie taco and once was enough to be filling. It was a great vibe great food. Extremely happy with my service.
MoreWould not recommend for solo dining. Was in town for work and heard Egg has the best brunch. Went in and asked for a table for 1, and was met with laughter and a condescending "yeah no. how about the bar." I was happy to sit at the bar and not take up a table (I didnt realize there was a bar when I walked up)... The food was good, but the attitude of the staff was very unpleasant and just made me feel embarrassed/self-conscious, which made the overall experience pretty bad.
MoreFood tasted good, eggs were undercooked, coffee was burnt, bloody mary was less than basic and watered down. Our table was tacky to touch and seating was very cramped. A server spilled my food on me, another server dropped a giant tray on my chair. We made eye contact, but I never received an acknowledgement or apology for either. They were very busy. If you cant support your capacity, close down a section. This was a waste of money.
MoreFood was good but the service was disappointing. We were seated before the table next to us but our server kept catering to them more than us and she only came to our table 3 times. To take our drink order, food order, and to give us the check. She never checked on us even though she kept passing by our table.
MoreHORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I placed a to go order and waited for over an hour to get my food AFTER I arrived to pay for it. When I finally got it my eggs were over easy and I ordered them over well so when I cut into my eggs, yolk spilled all over my food. I called them to let them know this and I was told by the MANAGER that, that wouldnt have happened if I wouldve ordered my food correctly!! Then he looked at the order receipt and it clearly stated that the eggs were ordered over-well. When I walked back in to have my ordered replaced the manager was beating on the screen and yelling profanities in front of the other guest. Unbeknownst to him I was sitting outside in my car so I walked in right after we got off the phone. Mind you the grits were 23$ alone so the food is definitely over_priced
MoreCame in on a Friday just before lunch. We waited almost an hour for our food. I ordered an espresso martini and it taste like water mixed with a bit of coffee. Worst I’ve ever had. When the food finally came, it was mediocre at best. I will say that the staff was friendly and I really liked the atmosphere. However, they definitely need some work before I recommend this place to anyone.
MoreWent in with a group of friends. They wouldn’t let us order a beer and pay with cash while we waited. Once seated the menu has no good NORMAL breakfast food. It does have eggs, bacon, and toast but this normal breakfast meal can only be purchased as separate items. The Bloody Mary was horrible, I only took 2 drinks and left it on the table. They had signs for ribs and other food on the door and inside, but I’m assuming that is the last tenant that had a lease on the building?I won’t ever return. This place is not for me. If you’re looking for poached eggs and expensive corn bread this is for you. Way to extra for me, I just wanted some eggs and bacon with some OJ.
MoreLoved the food! Good portion, friendly staff. We ordered French toast and pork belly egg Benedict and both were so beyond our expectations! I also loved all the decorations which makes the whole dining experience enjoyable. Will come again.
MoreEgg is a perfect brunch spot! I tried the cornbread benedict, as it’s kind of my go to dishes when trying a new brunch place, and it was incredible! The sweet cornbread soaked up the perfectly poached eggs and melded with the crispy/savory strips of pork belly. It’s a larger brunch serving, so come hungry. 10/10 will be eating here again!
MoreWell I totally didnt take a beautiful picture at the start but half way through It was so good I had to give it 5 stars. Really good service from the bartender and extremely tasty food. Would recommend !
MoreFood was amazing! Will be going back. Wait time moved fast too on a Sunday afternoon
MoreCame for some project to ST. Louis, and wanted to try EGGSTL’s brunch. It was a okay restaurant with their own style of serving brunch.I tried their Breakfast Tacos. Liked their spicy rib , but their Carne Asada was too oily and fatty. Didn’t like it at all. Their coffee didn’t tasted and smell like it is a coffee.Their Chakchouka was good.
MoreIt’s really really good. The menu might not have a deep variety of things… but what they have is dialed in!!! The Pork Belly Benedict ooooo Lawd!!Mouth watering.
MoreAwesome place to get your morning breakfast and mostly when you traveling the best costumer service so far I have the owner even give us complementary cornbread for our trip thanks again
MoreFantastic breakfast place, with unique tex Mex options! Tacos and hash are all must tries!
MoreEverything had great flavor and it only needed a pinch of salt to make it magical. The drinks were on point. We got the peachy Palmer and a mimosa and they were amazing! You couldn’t taste the alcohol but you can feel it’s there lol these are dangerous drinks because they will sneak up on you. Food felt very healthy yet so filling!
MoreThe food here is great! Highly recommend the chorizo breakfast taco. The tortillas looked and tasted made in house. French toast was sweet but not soggy. It had a nice chew to it due to the type of bread. I really enjoyed this place.
MoreThe food here was fabulous. The chorizo tostada was full of flavor ($8). The breakfast potatoes were crispy. The style was had to discern.... Mexican? Indian? The service was questionable at best. Our table of 2 was served by three separate people. I ordered a hash to go and had a second server come to confirm my order. To pay someone else came to our table and waited for us to pay.
MoreSuper weird experience at egg today. We were sat sooner than our estimated wait so that was nice. Our server didn’t come around, so the bartender noticed and alerted him. The server came and took our food and drink orders, but then didn’t ever bring the drinks to us. Again, the bartender noticed we were waiting unusually long, and asked what we were waiting on. The host then brought us two of our 3 drinks. The bartender noticed again that we were waiting on something else, and ended up bringing the cup of coffee himself, letting us know our food was coming. Our food came out (someone from the kitchen ran it, and we hadn’t seen him run any food the rest of the time), and wasn’t hot but we’d been waiting a while so we didn’t say anything because we wanted to eat. Buuut they hadn’t brought us any silverware so only I was able to start eating as I had a spoon from my coffee I could use. The food was tasty (cornbread and gravy and pulled pork hash), but the portions were small for the price, I’d been kind of expecting to be able to take some leftovers home. The cornbread was very good but some seemed burnt. The bartender noticed we weren’t eating and brought us silverware. As we were eating , he and a different server came to our table to apologize, which was a bit odd since we’d never been talked to by this other server before. Then when we finished our food, yet another server came to our table to ask if we wanted our check, which we did. They alerted our server (who hadn’t been back to our table since they took our order), and he brought the check. It was just a super weird service experience, as it felt we spent half the time waiting on something, and had 5 different people wait on us (not including our original server). The bartender and server both at the end offered us coffee to go, which was nice. 5 stars for the bartender and other staff being attentive, but the rest of it took it down a few notches.
MoreVery good experience! Although we had a bit of a long wait, it was worth it. We got the beau spritzer which was extremely delicious. Nice atmosphere although it was a little loud for my preference. We did get our food quickly which made me extremely happy cause I know they were very busy.We got the salmon plate…very delicious. Had the French toast…amazing. For me although the food was tasty i would have prefer for it to be more spicy. But i would definitely go back and also recommend it.
MoreFirst time visiting Egg, did not disappoint! Food and service was great. I loved the atmosphere, and the staff were great in helping our friend who had too much the night before, haha...highly recommend this restaurant!
MoreVery pleasant experience! Was seated quickly and didnt have a long wait for our food. We got the Sidi Beau Spritzer which was delicious and the pulled pork hash with french toast. Nice buzzing atmosphere full of great people. I HIGHLY recommend!
MoreDon’t let Tex Mex throw you off for breakfast. Be adventurous, because this place was AMAZING !!! Service was great too. I got the eggs Benedict and shooo weeee mercy was it one of the best I’ve ever had. There was a review that raved about the potatoes and they definitely lived up to their expectations! I wish I lived here so I could come more often.
MoreGreat food and service. They were really busy but we were able to get 2 seats at the bar immediately and got food within 10-15 minutes from ordering. Pretty average/reasonable pricing for good quality, fresh food. Definitely worth going to.
MoreThe food is amazing! Get a mimosa if you go (their orange juice is fresh squeezed). It took a hot minute for us to get it. So if your looking for a place to spend a while at then just know that...its not quick but so worth the wait!!!!
MoreThe restaurant itself is cute and quant. Coffee was great. Our server was quick and food was pretty good . Menu has fair pricing for breakfast food. Breakfast with a cultured twist. Its yummy here.
MoreI had the Cornbread Pork Belly Eggs Benedict, black coffee, & Tumeric Latte. All were incredible. Just absolutely delicious. The space is very nice. The owner welcoming & kind. Highly recommend.
MoreVery tasty!! And very slow. We got seated next to a couple that was right before us in the list. They got their food, finished it, paid, and we still hadn’t gotten our food. Pretty frustrating. But eventually the food came and we enjoyed every bite. Would give it 5 stars if it weren’t for the slow service.
MoreHad a bit of a rough start. Grabbed an open seat at the bar. Was ignored for some time. But once the staff finally noticed me I was promptly served. Ordered the pork belly eggs Benedict and a beermosa. What a great spin on eggs Benedict, especially to put it on cornbread. Really delicious meal and I enjoyed my visit despite the slow start. Place has a cool vibe and I will definitely return.
MoreThey opened for Memorial Day when they are normally closed on Mondays which we greatly appreciated. It was slammed when we got there but they handled it well.My wife got veggie Shakshuka and I got pork belly Benedict. Both were very good. My eggs were perfect and dish was flavorful. Doing Benedict on cornbread is a home run.The place is pretty small up front and has good atmosphere and great natural lighting. They do have a kind of back room in which we were seated. It’s not as well lit or happenin’ as the front side but it’s nice to have additional seating for overflow, as when we arrived.I would have preferred to sit in the front room but can’t complain when it’s that busy. We were waited on quickly and our drinks and food came promptly. We live close and will be back often for sure!
MoreI had the Smoked Pork Benedict which was not bad. You can tell that its a good dish but the integrity is lacking. You dont get the same dish every time. My cornbread was so crumbly it couldnt be eaten with the other components of the dish, it just falls apart. The pork was flavorless, a missed opportunity to add flavor to the dish. They were very short staffed, the one server there was working his a$$ off and seemed to be doing a good job with what he had; the bar on the other hand rarely had a keep there. The gentleman working the bar, the back of the house and helping front of the house was in way over his head. Never asked if Id like a drink, just given water and made to wait 15 minutes, after that I had to wave down someone to order food and drinks, I got my drink(a beer from a tap15 minutes later. The tap sat right across from me. There were fruit flies everywhere and on everything, the bar hadnt been cleaned in ages and there were visible pipes leaking. There were open containers everywhere on the bar and trash left on the counters. The bartender/host/server/and whatever else Title he had was so busy he greeted a group of guests and asked them to follow him to the table and stormed off and around the corner before the guest left the front door, a complete cluster. The easiest part was being finished with my drink and food and having to flag someone down to get a check which also took 15 minutes. The photos show the filth described.
MoreThis place absolutely great!!! The staff is extremely friendly and hardworking. The food is also amazing. I actually really like the drinks. If youre wanting breakfast or lunch you have to try this place it wont disappoint!!
MoreThis breakfast menu is amazing. I’m a savory spicy food person, and I wanted to try everything. The pulled pork omelet was a special and my husband said it was very good. He especially like the bbq sauce on it. Their potatoes don’t look special but they were somehow better than others we’ve had. I’m not a lamb person, but I tried the chakchouka with merguez and I loved it.
