Φανταστικό μέρος, σαν από περιγραφές βιβλίων. Παρκάρεις το αυτοκίνητο σχετικά άνετα, κατεβαίνεις για 5 κάποια σκαλιά και βρίσκεσαι στην κοιτίδα της ομορφιάς του φαραγγιού. Αν προχωρήσεις βόρεια απ την λίμνη, θα βρεις μέρη γύρω απ το ποτάμι που το διασχίζει, να καθίσεις ν αδειάσει το μυαλό σου.Οπωσδήποτε μαζί νερό και κάτι για το τσιμπολόγημα.

Beautiful gorge. A must visit place

Ein Besuch wert. Die Straße dorthin war kaum befahrbar mit dem Mietwagen. Mit einen Quad oder Jepp aber kein Problem. Wir entschieden uns, zu Fuß zu gehen. Das waren ca. 4,5 km bis zur Fairey Cave in voller Mittagssonne🥵. Auf dem Rückweg haben wir eine Treppe gefunden, die etwas Weg gespart hat. Von der anderen Seite gibt es auch eine befahrbare Straße. Leider für uns zu spät😂.Am Ziel angekommen traumhafte Umgebung. Das Wasser ist klar und kühl, eine schöne Abkühlung für die Füße. Also denkt an ein kleines Handtuch!

Prachtige watertje in de Astrakiano Canyon. Echt de moeite waard. Let op: niet te doen als je slecht ter been bent.Je kunt deze plek met de auto het makkelijkste via Myrtia bereiken. Google Maps stuurde ons de andere kant op en dan zouden we een kwartier over een steile, onverharde weg moeten rijden. Dankzij een review hier ontdekten we dat Myrtia handiger is. Als je navigeert via Google let er dan dus op dat die je via Myrtia stuurt.In Myrtia kun je met de auto nabij de kerk parkeren en naar beneden lopen (hebben wij gedaanOF naar beneden rijden tussen de wijnraken en olijfbomen door op een smalle, deels verharde weg die prima te doen is. Parkeer bij het houten huisje en loop dan verder.Wij hebben in het dorpje geparkeerd, omdat we niet wisten hoe de weg zou zijn en Google stuurt je wel vaker op uitdagende wegen. Het enige waar je rekening mee moet houden is dat er maar één auto tegelijk kan rijden en er weinig uitwijkmogelijkheden zijn om een andere auto te passeren.

Fantastisk sted med jungle-lignende følelse. Spændende gåtur, hvor man aldrig ved hvad der venter sig om næste hjørne.

Serene place to visit. I did not expect to see much water in July but the river was flowing and the small lakes were full.Great place for a picnic and kids loved it.

Deep walley, blue water brook on the bottom, wild turtles and no people around. Nice.

The location is beautiful but you have to pick the right road to take you there. I first picked a road that was shorter from my base location and it took us to a very narrow road that was not in a good condition. When I reached a stone bridge I was afraid to go further. We took some nice pictures of the turtles in the water and got back...we still had about 1,5 km to go... Later I found out that that bridge is Bridge of Astrakoi which is very old.

Beautiful place to visit .A big gorge with a small river in the middle big rocks and trees with a lot wild life.to reach the place you have to park your car 500 m away and walk on small rocky pathway but the beauty of the place worth it since is totally fantastic and unique.It is very nice for children also but a little tricky mostly at winter time.

Sehr schöne Halbtages Tour. Wir sind mit dem Quad aus Stalida gefahren. Die Fahrt war etwas lang. Eben je nach Abfahrtsort. Der Weg ist etwas holprig, kretische verhältnisse. Für jeden der die Natur liebt empfehlenswert!!

La cattedrale di San Mena è la cattedrale ortodossa sita a Heraklion nellisola di Creta. La costruzione è iniziata il 25 marzo 1862 ed è stata interrotta a causa della rivoluzione cretese del 1866. La chiesa fu completata nei primi mesi del 1895 con inaugurazione finale, il 16 aprile 1895 dal vescovo Timoteo di Creta. Ad oggi è veramente tenuta benissimo, gli affreschi esaltano tutti i colori allinterno splendidamente. La chiesa è dedicata a  San Minas da cui prende il nome, protettore della Città.La cattedrale è di libero accesso, non si paga nessun biglietto.

Also, die Fahrt endete für uns an der historischen Brücke, da diese wohl nur mit einem schmalen 4x4 passierbar sein dürfte. Bis dahin war die Strecke bereits ein Abenteuer. Die Gegend ist faszinierend. Es gibt Schlangen, Echsen, Adler und andere spektakuläre Dinge zu sehen.

Very nice place but unfortunately its very difficult to access it. The way to the cave is dangerous and not clean. The real cave is not secure accessible because of not having a light or something to be able to walk through it to reach the waterfall. Be careful and enjoy the place!

Absolutely beautiful, a real escape from our daily reality, letting in nature in sight and sounds… we had a blast, got our feet wet and the hike was challenging and fun! Highly recommended.

Beautiful place! Paths are a little bit dangerous but try to be a little bit adventurous. Perfect for a little get away or magical romantic picnic.

Very nice place , we went at the end of April it wasnt too crowded, not far away from the city of herakleion you have to walk about 5 min to go down to the lake hopefully we didnt saw any fairys ✌️

Very beautiful

Never did find an actual cave other than a service cave with gate. But it is a nice place.Be advised. its a little difficult to get down too, so if you have mobility issues I would not recommend this place. The path is uneven and a little dangerous in places.

The nature and the small lake is very beautiful. The cave seems small but it might be very deep and it appears to have a permission to explore the inside of it. There are rock carvings too. It would be better to see less of trash.

Nice place and part of an off- beaten hiking route. Be prepared for some hiking and dont go close to sunset as it can get dark.

A nice place to visit close to Heraklion. Not many steps to get to the cave, you can do it in 10-15 minutes the most. Very nice atmosphere.

Good hike with lovely shaded place at the bottom, going back up is a challenge so be prepared

Small caves

Kind of a lost place now but certainly worth a visit. Dont miss the old bridge from 1450 or so, it makes for some cool pics :-)

Το μέρος είναι όμορφο όχι όμως ιδιαίτερο, μπορείτε να το δείτε σε συνδιασμο με κάποια άλλη τοποθεσία, έχει φυσικό κάλος, εύκολη πρόσβαση αλλά αν θες να συνεχίσεις στο μονοπάτι μετά την λιμνούλα δυστυχώς σε κάποιο σημείο κόβετε λόγο μη συντήρησης, κρίμα.

Not sure if what we saw was the right cave. If it was then its very small and not worth it. But forget the cave, the whole area and pathway along the river is beautiful. There are dozens of turtles in one of the ponds. Its cool and shady and a great place to spend 2 hours. To get there just follow the brown signs and you best park the car beside the hut at the end of the road.

Μαγευτικό μέρος μέσα στην φύση.Σου δίνει την αίσθηση του αποκοσμου και ότι βρέθηκες μέσα σε ένα παραμύθι.Είναι λίγο επικίνδυνο όμως γιατί είναι παρατημένο με πεσμένα κάγκελα σάπια ξύλα κλαδιά με αγκάθια στην μέση του μονοπατιου.Ακόμα μπορεί να συναντήσεις και διάφορα μικρά άγρια ζώα όπως νυφιτσα, φίδι.Παρόλα αυτά ήταν ένα μέρος μοναδικό

A very scenic place, with a beautiful history, near Heraklion, Crete.

Unfortunately we didnt get to go there. For everyone: if you want to go there then definitely dont drive by car as we did. This is very off road. Met some other tourists on the way who were also driving by car. You should either walk there or drive with a mountain bike but be careful because the hill goes up very high and it also goes down very very deep on the small "road".

We did not find the cave, but we found a beautiful hiking trails in the canyons. There are as well some picturesque ruins in the area. I recommend to go there having more than an hour, as the canyons are sure worth exploring. I only wish the road to the cave would be marked better. Btw - wear proper shoes, Ive seen people in flip-flops and they were sad folks.

Forget about the "cave"...just use it for the starting point of a an awesome canyon hike.

A family adventure out. We parked at the top by the so called toilet. Walked down and found the signage to be useful. A bit steep in parts but once we got to the bottom it was lovely and cool. There is Fairy cave on the way down that looks tempting to walk in but we we didn’t go in far.Not busy, only one other couple looking around but Covid-19 time.Found the ladies in the rocks and my husband and son walked up the other side to see the different view. Very jungle like and cicadas were making it authentic. The water didn’t look suitable for a dip. But it was cool enough in the shade. My teenage children seemed to enjoy it and I’m sure younger would also. A nice day out if you up for it.

Its a beautiful place but not so close to heraklion city and a little difficult to find it. If you necessary want to go i would suggest you to go early in the morning so the sun want cacth you.

The walk from the last point where you can park a car to the lakes is rather easy and short. However wearing walking or hiking shoes is highly recommended. It is nicely cool here on a hot day. There is a small picnic area (a table with two bencheswhere you can relax and rest. We brought some wine and cheese with us and spent couple of hours enjoying beautiful views of lakes in lush greens and mountains around. Bear in mind that there is no mobile phone signal coverage here.

We have tryed to reach this place on evening, but the way using Google.Maps was quite strange and finally we found ourselves smwhere in front of open black gate on the right and road to the darkness on the left. Mb during daytime it could be a wonderful journey, but keep in mind that its not really to easy to find entry point to the way to this cave.
