Split-level cocktail bar with modern colonial decor, serving Angus beef burgers from eclectic menu.
Best place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere around you.
For a 3-course meal experience through buyagift, and the service was brilliant, we were led straight to our table served promptly and the food was so delicious. Restaurant is beautifully decorated and atmosphere was lovely. Couldnt recommend more!
Good food and a nice atmosphere. Worth a visit
Lovely staff and also met some cool people out hereBeautiful place, interior design and great food
Nice sunny terrace , waitress guy working super fast 👌 and cheesecake was super delicious 😋
Excellent place for drinks and good time.Next time I will try the food.
Fab bar with history and African theme, try out those truffle cheesy chips. Lovely
We ate fish n chips and it was amazing! Good size portion. Friendly staff, Quick serving.
I love this place. So delicious food.
Excellent and fast service, great fish & chips at a few meters from Buckingham palace. Little bit expensive but top quality.
Stopped by for a quick lunch. It was so good! The drinks and the food were yummy! The waiter was so happy and made us happy :)
Great food (for kids and folksfriendly staff….cold beer, need I say any more. Really nice!
Fabulous place, tasty salads, ice cold drinks and a seat in the window to people watch. The staff were really helpful too. The decor in the ladies bathroom was really cool
Very expensive for quite mediocre food.
Best burger I have ever had. Great location, service, and meals. Highly recommend.
Fantastic food. Excellent service. Staff very tentative. Worth a visit
I had booked a table in advance. The food was not bad. Onion rings and fries were good. The buttermilk chicken burger was ok, but the breading was too heavy and fat.Staff was nice and cocktail was good.
Loved it when I was there a few years ago..decided to go again- we loved it even more! Fab Manager, staff and food. Definately will be going again!
This is my 2nd time here. And I loved it justbas much. The food is so good. It seems like a small menu but its done well. Cocktails great. Staff friendly and attentive. Priced a bit high but food is really delicious. Seating outside in the sun in the afternoon. Brilliant toilets love the decor.
Stopped in after the Trooping the Color ceremony. Although the Manager & staff were rushed off their feet, the service was wonderful! Encouraged to get comfortable and take our time! The food & drink were terrific, too! Thank you for a lovely lunch.
We visited at lunchtime. The salt beef sandwich is exceptional - best I have ever had. The Gatsby Sub is also delicious. Service was great as youd expect and staff were really friendly to us (and our dog)
Food was really tasty, we ordered “The Russian” and “The Gatsby Sub”. Had their “Coco Loco” mocktail too, which was delicious! Service in there was fantastic, always checking if we needed anything else and everyone was very friendly.
Wow ! What a lovely place 🙂 ! The food was incredible. We had beef ribs, prawn linguine and chicken parmesan ! Honestly have never tasted food like it. 5+
Surprisingly excellent, stopped in for a pre-theatre lunch and had a great time. Lovely burger and drinks in a unique setting.
What a complete rip off. The drinks card only had cocktails and I wanted a Gin&Tonic. So I asked for it, they said, sure theyll make it. So to compare, a gin based cocktail with gin, champagne, tonic and some other stuff is £12, a simple, single G&T is also £12! They actually charged £10 for the gin, for which I normally pay around £6 anywhere else in London! There are so many better places in London that will not take advantage of you with the ridiculously overpriced drinks. Positive reviews probably from tourists, who think these are normal London prices. Will never go again.
Amazing food! Were very accommodating for our group as we had kids with prams etc. so needed quite a bit of room. The staff were very competent and helpful. The owner (I think he was the ownerwas the most lovely man! Very friendly and couldnt do enough for us. Buttermilk chicken burger was incredible! Kids meals were good portions and the crudites were a great idea for them! Will be back here for sure!
I had a really lovely lunch here with my sister. The service was excellent, staff very kind and courteous and the meal excellent. We shall definitely visit again.
The ambience of BBar was lovely. Food was really delicious, great portions even for starters and the staff couldnt do enough for you, very attentive. My friend and I had a wonderful time and will definitely go go again.
While from the outside it may look like a busy / noisy watering hole you only have to look past and walk through the bar area to what ends up looking like a beautiful European bistro that serves lovely food with a south African influence, a great wine list and extremely attentive service - all very beautifully presented at a competitive price.
I have visited Bbar on a weekday lunchtime and it was only around 50% occupied. There were some larger groups of people having lunch whereas others were on single tables just for a drink, so quite a mix. The atmosphere is quite dark and elegant, with gold and animal print decor. The staff were friendly and you were given a warm welcome. The cocktail menu was extensive, there was not a large food menu, but there was a variety of options that should suit most palettes. The food was cooked well, Id definitely recommend the salt beef sandwich if you visit as it was the best dish from our selection.
Loved this place! One of the highlights of my trip to London was going here. I didn’t know until later that Bbar was associated with the Ruben hotel next-door. Look at the photo of my Gin drink, blueberry, grapefruit and coconut. It was as good as it looks. The service was excellent, the food had Indian spices.
Very friendly staff. Good selection of wines, cocktails, ciders and beers. Food is decent. Very close to the Victoria line and Buckingham palace. Good place to grab a bite if doing touristy things around central London.
Amazing venue and outstanding service! We booked for 20 people on Marathon Day and it was perfect, the terrace area is lovely but we did end up going inside as it got colder. The staff were so attentive and helpful, would highly recommend to anyone.
Beautiful decor, incredible staff!! We were in a rush for a show and they really pushed the meals to come out as quickly as possible, thank you to the chefs and the waiters!! The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. If you go for a lunch/dinner deal, the prices are very good as well. Large menu. Well definitely go again when we are back in London. It is really close to Victoria Palace theatre, great for a pre-show meal. 100% recommended!
Great food and service, photo is of butter chicken bunny chow, delicious
Best service and food I have ever received. It was a pleasure to spend the last day of my 20s dining here. The food was excellent 5 star all round. Friendly, polite and patient.
Excellent service, very nice environment, beautiful design, great drinks. Only thing I would have liked more in for the DJ to have continued playing after 22:00 (we arrived at 20:00).
The coctails were very nice! Ive ordered watermelon mojito which I recommendd for anyone who haven’t tried it, never had issues with orders. It could get quite pricey, so make sure you’re keeping track on your orders (dont be like us and spend £450 😅). They also have blankets!! Perfect for cold and rainy weather
Lovely food, very filling, good portions, friendly staff. Locals watching football got a little too excited and disrupted other patrons
Have been here a handful of times. The location is great for Victoria and Buckingham Palace. The decor has a South African vibe but is starting to look rather old. It can get quite tight inside as some of the seats are quite close together (even when no one’s sitting in them). They have some nice big tables for groups. This is my go-to place for Cobb salad, it’s the best place that I know of.The piri piri chicken was tasty as was the sweet potato fries.Annoyingly they add VAT onto the bill afterwards which is rather naughty in my opinion making the meal 20% more expensive than you had originally intended.
The best fish always the best fish straight from the market. You also send a postcard anywhere in the world on them. Very tasty ice cream dessert. Highly recommended and also a very welcoming staff.
The staff was great, the food was very good, the Mocktails where amazing, the watermelon lemonade was the best.
Friendly Staff with a lovely Italian waitress, good quality food, average price for being in London
Casual yet upscale with comfort food available. I had the burger which scratched an itch i’ve had for a few days. This would be a good place for lunch or dinner before a show.
Good environment and atmosphere. Nice service, a little bit expensive, but I think it worth for that.
I had the classic cheese burger, which was delicious. On the menu, they recommended having a bowl of chilli con carne on the side, which I did. I can honestly say it was the tastiest chilli Ive ever had! The staff were friendly and polite, all in all a great experience.
I think South African is a misleading term for this bar but what I will say is that the burgers (classic cheeseand drink (Peach and rosemary sortWere AMAZING. Had the soup of the day (potatoalso fantastic! This bar did not disappoint, atmosphere was nice, great 80s mix of music but still classy. Wait staff was fantastic and the restrooms were clean.
Had the afternoon tea here with a group of friends. Staff were very friendly, funny and attentive. The restaurant has an African theme which was tastefully done. The chairs were so comfortable to sit in, excellent selection of teas and the range of food was great. Favourite was the salmon and cream cheese and the plain scones. Least favourite was the beef mustard.
DOG FRIENDLY IN LONDON!!! Whenever Im in town with the pooch we visit Bbar. He always gets treated like royalty. Cocktail are great. Wine selection faultless. Dinner were lovely. Only thing Id say is that the menu could do with a refresh, but youd only notice this if youre a regular. The menu is great.
Randomly stopped in after a day of Palace sight seeing. Its decorated in an African theme and yet it works ok.Alex was out bartender and he was spot on. We were pleasantly entertained with copious drinks, hometown knowledge and all sorts of stories. The food was also very good. In addition, to the other patrons.
