barVino and barVino cellar - Wine bar in North Creek, United States
Dont think about it! Just go!My boyfriend and I love it here and we always miss it when we leave North Creek. See you next year!
Loved the food, ambience, staff. Chocolate cake was to die for. Definitely will come back if we are in the area.
The new head chef was amazing, and the diversity of the menu was a welcome surprise 😁
Fantastic food, great hidden gem. They apologized for being short staffed, but it was no problem. We had eggplant chips, fried potatoes, the burger and steak tacos. Each was an excellent choice. Would come back in a heartbeat.
We had a great meal! The wine list is well crafted and unique - I had the Pinot Grigio and would recommend it. The menu is small but creative. I assume it changes regularly. There were about 6 apps/small plates, and 4 entrees. We had the eggplant chips-excellent! They were served drizzled with a spicy honey. We also had the potato bowl which was tasty. For entrees we had the steak tacos and a burger. All the ingredients were fresh, cooked perfectly, and food-forward. They were a little short staffed, but who isn’t these days, and they were all pleasant. The dining room was lively and we sat at the bar which was comfortable too. We will be back for sure!
Delicious food, great beer options, friendly and helpful staff! Cant ask for much more than that! Tapas style lends itself to trying lots of different things. Can be a little noisy, so think more "lively date night" than "cozy dinner".
Great ambience and really lovely wine list! Food is a tad pricey.
Really great farm to table fresh food. Drinks were great. Service was great. Definitely recommend!
We went here for dinner right after our rail bike.We didn’t expect it a lot but it was a big surprise!!!Food was so delicious and our waitress was super nice.I will definitely be back here next time!!
Fantastic spot for a great drink or dinner. The staff(especially Alexwas all fantastic and very helpful and the food was delicious. The drink list is extensive and varies from local beers to ports and wines. The menu is constantly rotating and is always exciting and delicious, this is a must stop location in north creek for a delicious meal and drink.Alex was fantastic and helped us decide what to choose from the menu for dinner and drinks.
Wonderful team, great fresh dishes. Lovely wine collection. A rare find in the area.
Great food and lovely service! We had some great dishes, like the bone broth, the burger, the veggie tacos, and the salads! All in all there’s a great vibe, nice people, and a good night ahead of you!
Myself and 7 other friends went to Bar Vino this past Saturday night. It was beyond our expectations. Phenomenal food, great service, nice atmosphere--couldnt ask for more. Olivia was really warm and welcoming. Thank you for the great experience.
Delicious food, quick service, great drink selection, and wonderful live music! 10/10 would recommend and come back
Service was good, but you have to be half inebriated to enjoy some of the food. I hope, for the sake of peoples palettes, that you have finally acquired REAL Hummus, and please stop over-seasoning the steak.
It was my first time at barvinos and it was fantastic.i had the salted watermelon, the fried eggplant and also the the ny strip and everything was delicious. I will for sure be visiting again.
Small seasonal menu. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. My personal favorite was the Polenta Arenchini with goat cheese sauce-delicious.The service was wonderful:)
First time , wasnt familiar with the style of Tappas. Learned quickly, wine , we had the southern Shrimp on grits , then Snapper on grits. Our server was very nice, recommended several wines according to what we like. Hecked back often. Go for the experience, we sat by the window and saw people look at the menu, confused and walked away, should have come in experienced BarVINO.
The food tastes good BUT 3 tiny little pieces of chicken for $20+? A star for each piece of chicken. I can get equally great tasting food at Popeyes for less unless you want to include the price of gas, which would still probably even out, but then Id have leftovers from Popeyes. Definitely dont go there if you need a filling meal or if youre hungry. Go for drinks afterwards. Its unfortunate that there arent many others places to eat in the area and Im assuming thats why this establishment price gouges.HOWEVER, once upon a time ago, they had this succulent and massive pork chop that was definitely worth the $29+ paid and if that was on their menu permanently with other large meal options, Id give 5 stars.Yes, I know they support their local farm (and theyre probably going to reply to this review passively instead of reflecting on their servicebut it still gives no right to price gouge. Maybe find/create better recipes? Add some beans or filling protein to the side that isnt meat. I dont hate this place, but there is always room for improvement.I support small biz and will continue to support this one bc I love their craft beers and snackables, but just needed to be honest because even small biz make mistakes.
Amazing food, drinks & service!! barVino is a gem in the town of North Creek. They have a large section of drinks, and delicious food items. We will definitely be back!
The menu limited, but the food is to die for! Beautifully prepared, whole foods, just delicious. The service was impeccable. We will be back! Thank you!
I frequent this establishment often. It’s a true oasis in the expanse of the Adirondacks. Excellent food, drinks, and service.
Nearly 5 stars and if in the area, again, we’d definitely come back. The service was friendly and professional. The ambiance was chic and inviting. The beer and wine list were upscale at decent prices and our food was delicious. We ordered the pickles to share and eat with the pork tacos our son ordered and our pork chop we got to share because the chop we saw coming out of the kitchen for another customer looked so gargantuan but the pickles never stood a chance and were gone in minutes. Holding back on a star because even though our pork chop tasted divine, it was mostly fat. The cut had just a bit of meat on it, and unfortunately, their dessert maker was out with Covid and we chose the 3 $10 truffles from Barkeaters they had on offer. It was that or flan, and I wish I liked flan. If there was a next time, I’d go vegetarian. BarVino seemed the best the area had going for it and I’d definitely recommend trying it.
Great beer selection, really tasty cheese board, pork belly tacos entirely on point. Leading the way in North Creek if you ask me!
High quality chef designed and prepared innovative cuisine in a well designed chic bistro setting. We ordered 2 vegetarian options and both were excellent and they made a third vegetarian (removed the chorizoand it was delicious too. Try to get a seat by the fireplace after a long day of skiing. A gem of place in this very small town near Gore Mountain.
We stopped in for a snack after skiing and had a great time. The beer selection was great and it was all on draught. We had the croquettes, which were very tasty, and a nice plate of pickles. We loved the place and well be back.
The village of North Creek is pretty sleepy feeling on most winter nights but inside barVino it is full of life. The chicken was amazing the salmon was incredible and the service left nothing to be desired. We will be back the next time we ski at Gore.
Lovely ambiance...quite a selection of beers and spirits.Appetizers were phenomenal and the only recommendation I would give is perhaps some background music...involving all five senses...BarVino bravo!
This place was amazing!! I still cant believe we had such a delicious meal here! The staff were very friendly, and the food was great. I loved the bone broth served in a teapot. I cant wait for the next time I am in North Creek - will definitely be coming back!
bV is a fabulous staple of the north creek community, for the quality of local foods, creativity of menu, service, and overall experience. The transition to new ownership/management has brought nothing but positive change to an already great establishment.
Terrific service and atmosphere! Long list of excellent wines and beers! A unique and delicious menu of small plates (and largerthat feature foods sourced from local farms.
10 bucks a piece for scallops. Really? And they werent even that good. 10 bucks for a side of carrots. Yes, I know prices have gone up, but that is just price gouging. Locally grown and foraged...... never mind....
I loved our dinner here! The dishes were excellently seasoned with unusual but amazing flavors. My partner and I kept telling each other how good our food was (especially the sugar dumpling squash!). The drinks were great as well and the staff was friendly. I’d definitely recommend this place!
So you found yourself in North Creek and you’re looking for a cozy evening? I did too! And I’m so glad I found my way to bar Vino. This crew is doing an amazing job. A bounty of delicious beer and wine options are on tap. And the menu is as creative and memorable as the Adirondacks are beautiful. Thanks to all got working so hard. I’ll definitely be making my way back.
Sat at the bar. Great place for tapas, wine, and a solid craft beer selection. Potatoes a la Plancha were tremendous. Scallops were perfectly cooked and crusted. Service was excellent and helpful, and locals were friendly. Will certainly return next time were in the area.
Nice place! Came all the way up to North Creek just to get their famous mussels appetizer, but alas, new owner, new chef... Sadly no mussels on menu. Had the fried green tomato caprese salad instead...oh my goodness...sooo good. (How do they keep the tomatoes so crispy?friendly bar tenders and patrons also made our visit delightful!
All of the ingredients were so fresh and well balanced. All of the flavors and textures are incredibly pleasing and thought provoking. My dining experience was super intriguing. The staff is super friendly and helpful, so Ill definitely be back!
Very classy wine bar! They serve many varieties of wine and also have a pretty good selection of beer. Our server was fantastic! She was very friendly and talkative. We also had an appetizer that was tremendous! I highly recommend barVino!!
Wonderful food and service. Fresh ingredients, many locally sourced. Bone broth soup was amazing. Soba noodle salad was delicious. Not one complaint. If you are in the Adk and near the town of North Creek you can not go wrong and have a fine meal here.
Its probably our own fault because we couldnt pronounce anything on the menu. So we decided to try something different. There were 2 items on the menu that we knew a little about which was a pork shoulder sandwich and teriyaki steak. (They werent really called that we had to askThat being said I guess the pork shoulder was supposed to be burnt (IDKand the fries were so well done I couldnt chew them. The teriyaki steak tasted like it had been pickled. It was like nothing we had ever tasted before thats for sure. Needless to say it was a hard pass on the food for us but my husband said the beer was good and our server was pleasant. $66 dollars later we went to the grocery across the street and microwaved lean cuisine as Barvino was the only restaurant opened in this little town. Im not complaining just letting all hillbillies know in advance. Lol...BEER GOOD...FOOD at your own risk!! Its good to get out of your country comfort zone but this place provides no COMFORT FOOD!!
Me and my wife walked by barVino and after looking over the menu decided to give it a shot. Due to COVID-19 dine in was not an option so we got our order to go. Everything was well packaged and presented but most importantly the food was absolutely amazing. I got the pork tacos and she got chicken tacos with Mexican corn and churros to share. Easily some of the best tacos we’ve ever had. The proteins were cooked perfectly and spiced to perfection. Highly recommended
This place is areal culinary gem, especially far from a large city. The food was very delicious and flavourful. Portions were pretty good. The wine and beer selection is very well curated
Given the location in the world, this place is excellent. We barely managed to get reservations but they managed to squeeze us in and the food was excellent. The girls ordered a bunch of things that we all split and it was a great meal. Price was totally reasonable for this quality of food. If youre in the area you have to try this place.
Thankfully the chefs are great. The girl greeting you at the door will make you feel as if you need a reservation in her empty restaurant. The foods good but the women must hemmorage money turning people away because she wants an exclusive atmosphere in the middle of nowhere
The customer service is fantastic here! The ambience is very relaxing while enjoying your libations or meal. Snacks are usually on the menu before the dinner commences. Prices can be steep with some products but it is worth it. Very spacious in this establishment and very clean. They have beers and ciders as well if you dont want wine.
An upstate gem. World food at down to earth prices. Great beers on tap and a nice selection of wine, with nicely priced sub 30 dollar bottles. My last time there three people shared six plates (way too much food), got two beers, and a bottle of wine. With tip out the door it was $125. Unbeatable. Place sits firmly in the top three of my favorite spots ever. No reservations, often a wait. Grab a drink, listen to the live music they often have, and stick around - its worth the wait.
The starter plates are meant to be shared (not clear from the menu), so it’s a lot for 1-2 people! That said, the fried brussel sprouts were delicious and something I’d never seen before. Cute place for dinner.
Amazing food. Incredible menu. Great wine and beer selection. Nice atmosphere for a place kind of in the middle of nowhere. Definitely check this place out if you’re near here. It’s worth the drive. Much better than we had last night in Lake Placid. Stuffed and happy!! Thank you!
Might be a little biased because I worked here for a few years when I was younger, but hands down my favorite restaurant in all of Upstate NY. Probably still one of my favorite restaurants in general and I’ve moved around a fair amount. Small but absolutely wonderful portions of food with lots of local ingredients. The craft beer and wine selections are always amazing and lengthy, so much to chose from. Anna is so passionate and knowledgeable, and between the staff and the atmosphere this place has such a wonderful homey feeling to it. Weather it’s sitting by the fireplace in the winter, or sipping a nice glass of wine at the bar in the summer, this place has a charm like nothing else. The owner Mike has put a lot of work into this place, and it shows. Such a wonderful hidden gem in North Creek. I make it a point to stop in at least once every time I visit because it’s just that good. The head chef Luke changes the menu seasonally, and usually has specials daily that are always delicious and interesting for the area. You can really tell they all love this place, and I do to! Highly recommend this to literally anyone, because there’s something for everyone.
Had a wonderful dinner with the family after a day on the slopes. Wonderful tapas menu with nice wine and beer selection. Service was quite attentive and very knowledgable about wine selection. I would love to have this gem of a restaurant back home. We were very pleased after recent sub par dinners.
