鉄板&ロック風街 - Teppanyaki restaurant in Kure, Japan
鉄板&ロック風街 in Kure
Description
Privilege
Great experience and decent food. Its more about the show then the food, even though the food is delicious and fascinating to watch being made.Drinks and service are ok, but short as the chef takes over pretty quickly.I recommend having a full or near full table, as that maximises the attention you get from the chef.Do NOT snooze on the egg fried rice its a big part of the show.
MoreMy family and I came here yesterday 17/10/22 because my 16 year old daughter got her first job and we wanted to celebrate in style. The staff there were absolutely wonderful! So friendly and welcoming. Our Chef Jaime was brilliant and the food and atmosphere was top tier! We would HIGHLY recommend this place and will be coming back very soon! Thank you Benihana for a magical evening x
MoreThis is such a treat. It is very entertaining and the food is deliciousDefinitely worth coming here for a celebration. Youll have a great time and eat delicious food.
MoreChef Lavan was very entertaining, top tier of those that we have seen. Good table service and the restaurant was busy with a good Friday night vibe.
MoreI took my 11 year old son here for lunch on a Saturday. The starters and sushi dishes were very generous portion sizes, so actually extremely good value for money. The chef was very pleasant, and with a wonderful sense of humour. Although they clearly do this all the time, the chefs have mastered the art of appreciating that every visit might be someone’s first time, and prepare the food in front of you in a very attentive, dynamic and friendly way. We were fortunate to be sat with a family of 4 and another 2 people who all seemed to enjoy the experience, making it a very pleasant and lively lunch. The staff are extremely pleasant to children, but you could also have a great time with adults. After looking at the menu before visiting, I thought it would be expensive, but the generous portion sizes make it actually very good value. It would be very nice to go as a group of 8 and have the table to yourself, but if you find yourself on a pleasant table (as we certainly didit was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon.
MoreI have been dining at Benihana for over 20 years, initially at Swiss Cottage & now Kings Road, simply because, whether it’s lunch or a special occasion as this visit was, the high standard remains the same. Plenty of variety on the menu, great service, superb food and the Benihana Pinky is definitely the cherry on top. Now with the added nice touch of having your name in lights for special events, it is definitely the place to go.
MoreFirst time to try Benihana as we only keep seeing it on youtube videos before. They have great tasting selection of cocktails both with and without alcohol.Of course it is a teppanyaki style and everyone is sharing tables so bear that in mind if you are booking. Also check their menus online before you book so you don’t get any surprises. Our dedicated Chef for our table is Jaime. He made us feel at home as not only is he a good chef but also a brilliant comedian! We can’t stop laughing (and probably disturbed the other guests sorry😁Such a wonderful experience
MoreBenihana is a lovely restaurant chain, unfortunately we did not have the experience we were hoping in the Chelsea branch, hope it is better for others.Briefly speaking, the purpose people go to this place is the fun factor and entertainment in watching the skilled chefs prepare the food in front of you and enjoy the chat and interaction with them, the food comes second. We did not get that, our chef was nice and polite but was not in the mood so there was no wow factor or any entertainment at all, add to that the bland food and the experience was ruined. All I can say is, this was our bad luck. I have been to other Benihana branches in other countries and have always had a pleasant and entertaining experience.Maybe one day I will give the Chelsea branch another chance....... or maybe not....
MoreHad a lot of fun, have been meaning to get the Benihana experience for a while now. Finally got to dine here. It was actually a lot cheaper than I thought, not that its cheap though, but it seemed well worth it. Our chef put on a show and really entertained us. Who knew watching your food being cooked could be soo fun. Food was really nice as well. Had more variety then I thought. Had a bunch of cocktails as well. All pretty good. Service was excellent. Was lucky enough to have some super cool people on the table across me. They made the vibe extra enjoyable and introduced me to Sake. Parking wasnt to hard to find on a side road, but bear in mind it was a bank holiday. Definitely looking forward to coming again
MoreI went for the 1st time on Saturday and It was amazing!! The food is very tasty and fresh. The chiefs are lovely, the service was also incredibly. The waitress helped us out with questions we had.It is expensive so I would go with a big group as it will be better that way!5 Stars!! Will come again!!
MoreWe went for a lunch to celebrate our daughters birthday and our sons belated birthday. Everything was great: food was delicious, chef was funny and skillful, service was great. It was a meal and a show. We had a great time.
MoreGreat food, lobster is delicious, watching the food cooked infront of you is great, only negative is we went a few times and because we were a couple we got placed on a table with others which makes it impossible to have it as a romantic meal as a couple and on one occasion we had really annoying young couple who acted immature and destroyed the night and it was our anniversary. But the food is good, the service is good, the menu offers alot of choices, the chiefs perform interesting tricks. It is a pleasurable experience most visits only issue is if you are seated with immature drunk young couples.
MoreGreat experienceLoved the vibes and everythingWe had so much fun
Great experience! The food is amazing but watching them make it in front of you makes the experience completely different. Our cook was really funny, a whole culinary spectacle. You also get super full as the portions are quite big!
MoreAmazing service from the moment we stepped through the door. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because we had to wait a while for a chef to be available but other than that excellent service and amazing food. I want to give a special shout-out to our chef Arthur for being so funny and welcoming and making great tasting food !
MoreIf you haven’t grown up with seasoning in your food and flavour please go here. If you are like myself and have experienced different flavours and seasonings PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. You will be disappointed greatly. . It is so plain. The chef has great skills so the knife throwing will distract you from the fact that the food is subpar and I’m not even sure they added salt to the food.
MoreFirst of all I would like to say that if you go to a place where the chef has to put up a show, if you pay for the show with the price of the food, but your chef is 2 weeks new and that person is not capable of putting up a good show because he doesn’t have the experience, you should lower the price of the food. Our chef couldn’t do the juggling that other chefs around could do, but the price of this food without the show was definitely not worth it. Would recommend other Japanese restaurants that for the same price you can have a banquet of delicious food.
MoreGreat Time Celebrating my 60th Birthday, as I came downstairs I saw my name on a large bill board with others, whos birthday it was.Can purchase a cake, staff sang Happy birthday to me in English and another language, love that.Staff very welcoming and interactive with me and my guest.Special our personal chef, who entertain us through the duration of our experience. Left Happy and satisfied All round.Would recommend, Well Done to the whole company 👏🏿
MoreBenihana is great for entertainment while dining. The food is spectacularly prepared before you with much attention to detail. The rice dishes are a little on the smaller side, but the culinary show extravaganza more than makes up for it. The cocktails were delicious! Its a wonderful place to dine with friends and family.
MoreIt’s a lot of fun for kids and young couples on first dates. I brought my Japanophile 13 year old niece here. She loved it and the onion fire volcano. You pay for the theatre. I think it is worth it. Some don’t. Don’t come here for the food. Beer is very good though - ice cold Asahi pints. The smile on a 13 year old girl’s face was worth the price of sitting in an underground Kings Road restaurant. Sometimes you go where others want to go.I forgot to mention our chef and waitress were lovely.
MoreYummy and filling hibachi dinner. You choose a protein option for the hibachi dinner and it comes with soup, salad, a hibachi prawn appetiser, rice and side veg. Would recommend the hibachi steak option as the prawn option is a lot of prawns as it is the same as the appetiser. The only thing is the steak was cooked slightly over than asked but otherwise very good. A fun experience to watch the cooking.
MoreGreat evening, very tasty food. The Chef we had was funny, engaging, and attentive. Would love to go again and have him cook for us, and talk to, again.
MoreBest place for a family out i took my partner there on fathers day and he loved our chef Greg was the best he made us laugh and the food was delicious.
MoreWent to celebrate a Birthday at benihana last night and it was a really nice evening., The place is a bit tired and everything was a bit sticky and definitely needs a refurb, all the staff were really friendly, all the cocktails was perfect and we tried a wide selection, , The starters, they were great we tried the tempura prawns , avocado rolls , spring rolls , peas and chicken gyoza all delicious, for the mains I had the Teriyaki Sirloin Steak which was un edible it was so chewy it was terrible , a couple had lobster and prawns and they said that was lovely, my daughter had chicken and that was really nice , in fact we shared that as the steak was so bad , 2 others had SHOGUN’S FEASTand again the steak was not edible but they said the prawns were good .I do not eat seafood so it was lucky we had one chicken main others wise I would Have onlyHad rice to eat Our chef was lovely and everyone enjoyed the cooking experience, worth going but would definitely not order the steak
MoreWe had a fantastic meal here. Ive not been to Benihana for far too long, and it was great to see the same standards I always got. Our chef was brilliant, really engaging and making sure the food was how you liked it. I still cant get over just how good egg fried rice can be. I couldnt stop eating it! The menu has something for all price budgets too. We had such a fantastic evening, with entertainment and outstanding food.
MoreSuch a great evening for our anniversary. Food was impeccable and service even better. Couldn’t fault it. And thanks so much to Louis for taking extra especially care of us. We tried to find you at the end but you were super busy :( xxxx
MoreStaff here are wonderful. Atmosphere is great as well as food and drinks. I love the little celebratory messages they put on the screen.
MoreWe visited Benihana to celebrate a friend’s birthday (30/4/22.Fantastic Teppanyaki experience. Very clean place. Our chef Marlon was very entertaining and friendly, he performed some cool tricks such as throwing egg yolk in the air on his spatulaOur waitress Anne, was friendly and provided excellent service, the same goes for the rest of the staff, they were super attentive. The Teppanyaki is a little expensive, the food is good quality, the steak was excellent, melts in your mouth but the rest of the food was average, everyones tastebud is different. I personally loved it, however, my wife felt it was lacking in flavour.A few things to remember when visiting Benihana, firstly you share booth/ table. From my recollection I think it’s 8 per booth. Secondly the restaurant is very warm/hot (as expected, due to teppanyakiThirdly, the chicken and wagyu is Halal.Overall, lovely experience, great choice for a special occasions, pricey but worth the visit.
MoreWent here for my birthday last night, the wait staff were super friendly and very attentive! The food was exceptional and the show was even better.10/10 would recommend!
MoreThe food is quite average, however, in a place like this your are paying for the experience. The service and theatrics from the chef were great, so definitely worth a visit.
MoreVisited Benihana on a Sunday with a party of 9 people for a birthday dinner. We were promptly seated from the lobby area (10 mins wait), we managed to get our own room which was a bonus !Our grill chef called Luke was excellent! He really kept us and the kids engaged. Now apart from the grill infront of you food was average except the steak. The steak was absolutely soft melt in your mouth meat! The rest of the food was average personally I felt it was lacking a little flavour. But overall lovely experience and staff were super attentive.
MoreVery nice experience with food, Charlie the Chef was brilliant, will definitely visit again.
MoreMost amazing experience. I was totally mesmerised, like a child in a candy store my mouth opened as I enjoyed the style and banter of our chef. Food was tasty too. Quite good value even though its more than alternative venues. Worth it for the experience.
MoreBeautiful experience. Very friendly staff and wonderful food. Only minus? Parking space.
MoreWe had Richie as our chef and he was amazing. We had the benihana dinners and they are definitely filling already without any starters. But dont miss out on the Benihana rice (egg fried riceits worth it.Tad pricey but worth it. Can recommend
MoreHad a birthday celebration for our little one and it was a treat !! We loved the amazing show of teppanyaki skills by a lovely and charming chef.Friend rice, prawns, beef steak were my favourites. Lovely sake selection to go with the meal.We had a lovely night and would definitely be back again for the show.
MoreI was a bit disappointed. I booked this place for me and my other half for valentines and I wanted to discuss somethings with him... We where both surprised that you dont get a table to urself u share a table with like 3 other strangers (couples)... The "show" of cooking the food in front of u is nice to watch and very entertaining the chef was funny... The food is absolutely tiny for the price NOT WORTH IT! you are not gonna get value for ur money! The quality of food is poor, drinks just average.... If 2 other couples choose prawns or rice you guys all have to share it so couple A might get more by the time it gets round to u, u just ave to take whats left literally!! My husband and the other guy got scraps of rice!! In my opinion you are paying for the show of the food being cooked in front of u and nothing more.Poor serviceFood basic and smallNot intimateOver pricedThe chef was the highlight of the night.
MoreWe were served by a lovely waiter called Martin who was so friendly and went above and beyond for the child in our party and organised singing etc for our birthday celebration too. Our chef was Ritchie, we think he is new to their team but he did a fantastic job at entertaining us. Price can be slightly on the higher side depending on your choice of protein but there is something for every wallet.Overall, it was a good night out.
MoreHad a lovely celebration dinner. Our waiter, Martin, was friendly, funny and very good with the child in our party. He arranged singing for the birthday we had too which was fun. Our chef, Ritchie was very entertaining and friendly too. Overall, it was a lovely place to have a celebration and child friendly is always a big plus.
MoreFirst time here, it was one of my friends birthday. Staff has been really available and friendly, made us very comfortable. The Teppanyaki is a little too expensive, the food is good, but the cooking of it is not perfect. Highly recommend fried rice and the miso cod. We ordered just 2 full menus, but the portions were for 3 people, so don’t worry about being hungry. Our chef was very funny and skilled, so we enjoyed our night ! There’s no much selection for desserts, but the ice creams are pretty good to end the evening.
MoreAbsolutely loved it. Great experience for a birthday celebration. Food was amazing as well as the chef!!
MoreGreat food and service. The wagyu beef is definitely a must try. Pricey but worth it. You get a great show from the chef (Mathew did a great job). Would recommend
MoreVisited for a birthday on a Sunday evening, seems that every table at the restaurant was celebrating a birthday, cakes with staff singing coming out every 10mins. Chef was very entertaining. I upgraded to the egg rice and upgraded my steak which I am so glad I did!!! I got to try the prawns,.black cod and chicken - all very tasty but the steak was my personal favourite. A main is very filling but I hasnt eaten all day in anticipation so also ordered the edemame and gyoza starters. Strawberry kiss mocktail was lovely. Pricy but worth visiting for special occasions -.complimentory birthday cake and candle!!! Thank you :)
MoreCelebrated my friend’s birthday at the restaurant. I would have to say that the chefs here are amazing in terms of service and showmanship. The tricks that they do made my dinner very entertaining. This restaurant is a good place to go if you want something a little special for a special occasion. The only reason for 4 stars is that the food was only alright. The restaurant is on the pricier side, but that is to be expected. I ordered the steak set, and while I ordered medium rare, my steak was medium well to well done. Overall the food is okay, and the main point of the place is the entertainment experience.
MoreAbsolutely the best culinary experience and the food is priced to reflect this. All dining includes a chef who cooks theatrically tableside and the waitress was very attentive too. Food options include premium steaks, fish (black cod, prawns, scallops, lobsterand chicken. All dishes came inclusive of a variety of sides and overall we left feeling very full (no need for any starters/ appetisers in my opinion). Would definitely return for the experience - worth doing at least once and great for an occasion.
MoreExcellent atmosphere. Having food cooked fresh infront of you is different and the chef is very entertaining to watch. Great value given the location Kings Road and the entertainment aspect of the meal. Well recommended for birthday celebrations.
MoreFantastic Teppanyaki experience. Very clean place and friendly staff as soon as we walked in. The Chef does amazing tricks like tossing the eggs and spatulas in the air, good entertainment. Quality of the food is really excellent and just delicious and fresh. Great choice for a special occasion! Great food, entertainment and service. Highly recommended.
MoreBenihana is cool, they cook the food in front of you which was fun and the staff seemed very nice. However it really is expensive for what it is we ordered a LOT of food and I thought myyyy this is gonna be a crazy amount and it just wasnt I wasnt even that full!!!! But it is cool overall.
MoreGoing in on the hottest day of the year might not have been a smart move but otherwise, just like last time what a wonderful experience. We were late due to issues on the A40 but they amended the booking time at the last minute without any qualms and put us to ease when we finally arrived. Our personal chef had all the jokes and cooked our main meal to perfection. There was so much food though we couldnt eat it all. We went the day before freedom day so all the covid restriction requirements were still in place and theres a one way system in place to enter and leave the restaurant.
MoreThey made our anniversary very special yesterday with the good food, drinks and great customer service. The chef Jason made us have a good laugh/entertainment when making our meal. I recommend this restaurant for any occasion if you want that special feel. I will surely go back there again very soon. Thanks a lot to the team! 👌🥰
