This stylish American bistro offers seasonal small plates & craft beers in a white-oak-lined space.
Great experience here with my family. The food was incredible of course, but what really made the experience great was how awesome our the waitstaff is, Paul was super personable and great with our young kids, the litter interactions really made our experience a notch better.
The branzino was perfect and the rest of my party loved their food too. The service was spectacular - attentive and accommodating.
Casual, good food, good prices. The staff were very friendly. Definitely will return.
Beautiful place, delicious breakfast 🍳, friendly stuff
Enjoyed brunch at a.kitchen recently. Gave the Cornmeal Pancakes a try while my girlfriend tried the Bavette Steak Frites. We both really enjoyed our dishes but the pancakes were a highlight. I typically don’t even like lemon-flavored dishes but these made me a believer. The side of bacon I ordered was definitely too salty for my liking on its own. It probably would have tasted better with eggs but I would have never finished all that food considering how heavy the pancakes were. I also had a spin on a peach bellini which tasted delicious. Will definitely be back to try out dinner soon!
Awesome selection of beers - appetizers were unique and I would recommend as a spot to go before a night out in the town!
Incredible Lambrusco with this house special will definitely keep you coming back for more! Super kind and attentive staff. Great place for an evening of fun 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Absolutely one of the best restaurants in the center city area. They always make sure to take good care of you and are very friendly. All the times Ive visited its been top notch service.
Yummy food. Loved the food and the service. Chef knows how to cook and staff know how to make guests feel comfortable. Kids loved the pancakes and shareable. Potatoes were yummy.Jonida served us and she was wonderful.
Great place for a drink or dinner. Excellent service. Tosh was our server and did an amazing job.
Great service and food as always. Their quiche was amazing from the brunch menu and their cocktail menu always has a refreshing twist on classic drinks.
Amazing service!!!First of all, I have to start with how friendly the staff was at the restaurant. They were accommodating 7 of us without reservation on busy Thursday night. They were very attentive and even split the check for us (not just evenly, but actually by what we ordered without us asking for it!)Ok, and food was also delicious. While I do wish they had appetizers, food was actually well portioned to share during the meal. We had oysters which were fresh, burgers were delicious but I recommend it without sauce included.Highly recommend it!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 stars! Great experience all the way around. Attentive staff, friendly relaxed atmosphere and delicious food. Perfect spot for a light lunch/dinner or drinks with friends.
Superb from start to finish. Great food, cocktails and wine list!
Absolutely one of the best meals and cocktails I have ever had. 100% recommended! The bartender Paul is amazing as well.
Service was great and friendly, the food is excellent.
Went in with my wife and the bar wasn’t that busy. The bartender looked at me and stated rudely “we are at capacity” we will never go there again or recommend this establishment. By the way there was an empty bar spot.
The a.kitchen was an excellent restaurant in Rittenhouse area of Philly. The food was super fresh and tasty, the prices, were definitely on the upper end of most diners bracket.
We dined in on a late Monday evening. From the minute you enter the main dining room, you know you’re in for an experience. Our server was very attentive.Gougeres for appetizer was a solid delicious ooey gooey start in winters and set the tone for the rest of the meal.I had the mushroom bolognese, and my friend had steak. We both finished our plates, it was finger licking delicious food.We shared a Tahini chocolate cake for dessert, which was a little unusual.. different than your typical chocolate cake. It wasn’t my favorite, but my friend happily finished it.Overall 9/10 experience.
Went here for my birthday and ordered the salmon with vegetables. It was good. Looking forward to trying out more of the menu
Great food and presentation, however definitely over priced (yes, COVID prices are a real thing). To speak specifically to the food —Gougeres - great filling flavor plus nice and crunchyOctopus ‘Lyonnaise’ - good flavors but the texture was a little chewySausage and green - fine? The dish wasn’t overly exciting or interestingBeef tartare - fine, nothing specialPork chop - massive bone-in pork chop, good amount of vegetables, overall solid dishGrilled fish - in an amazing sauce, but very minimal other vegetables/ pieces to the dishWhole fish for two - great flavor, but it’s not deboned so tons of bones to pick through (aka don’t bother)
A.kitchen is by far one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of dining at in Philadelphia! My boyfriend and I have been going out to different restaurants in Philly for 5 yrs now, a.kitchen is definitely one of the most memorable. We sat at the chefs counter which was really cool, we were able to watch the chef and su chef cook all of the meals. The entire restaurant had a warm vibe, and everyone who helped us was really pleasant! Lastly, our food was outstanding, I ordered the short rib and my boyfriend ordered the half chicken. The short rib melts in your mouth and the chicken was so tender and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend both meals! Oh…and heavy pours on the wine…yes pls!
Awesome food and cocktails. Great service. The best dinner we had during our trip to Philly. The food is worth its weight in gold.
We had brunch here for New Years Eve and it was wonderful. The overall atmosphere was casual yet comfortable. We started with the grilled salad which was so flavorful. The chef was able to make a simple butter pasta for our daughter who absolutely loved it! I had the mushroom bolognese with spaghetti, which was perfectly aldente. The fish of the day was flavorful. Make sure to make a reservation because it’s so worth it
We came for brunch last weekend and loved this place! Their outside structure is set up so cute! Nice furniture and lights.....great ambiance....and awesome propane heaters that are low enough to actually give you tons of heat! We loved the heater so much we went on our phone and bought one for home on the spot! Haha! Our server was Jonida A and he was wonderful! So nice and attentive without hovering. I had the French Omelette. Its hard to get excited about eggs.....but this is worth getting excited for. I was blown away at how soft and creamy these eggs were. And I dont know what they did to their potatoes....but I ate them all they were so delicious. Crispy and wonderfully seasoned. I never finish the potatoes! This one is going on regular rotation for sure! Loved our visit!
Liked it didnt love it. Friendly service, good food, good drinks. Just nothing stood out to me.
lets talk small but top shelf plates. my crew went with brunch but this burger was worth parking wars.
Born and raised in Philly, and this place sits high on my list. Simply put, they know what theyre doing. Service is top-tier, food always on point and a beautiful dining area in my opinion. One of my personal favorites.
I recommend this restaurant to everyone! We are vegetarian and it was amazing! I cant imagine meat eaters would say anything different! Everything made from scratch and crafted with perfection! Ditch the seitan and processed foods and try a.kitchen! Amazing - cant wait to go back!
Great foods and drinks. We enjoyed everything. Bread was awesome, mussels and sausage were great. Hamburger was good but too greasy. Fries were really good too.
Had an amazing rehearsal dinner here last night! Food was absolutely delicious, bartender and waitstaff were friendly and outgoing!
Were so thrilled we choose a.kitchen for our anniversary dinner. The cocktails were well-crafted and the food was out of this world. We cant recommend it enough—the chicken liver mousse with the popover, the chickpea panisse, the burger, and more. Additionally, Jessica was a thoughtful and kind server and we thank her for assisting us in having a fantastic meal and experience. We look forward to returning again!
My family and I recently enjoyed a meal here. I must commend the chef for the flavors and presentation. My partner and I shared the Bronzino for two. It was so amazingly flavorful but since this was really the only thing on our plate, save for a few root vegetables, this really should be for one person. Others in my party experienced the same, a well prepared protein and not much for sides. The appetizers are also very small, great flavors, but small. All in all, come here to taste well designed flavors, nice presentation, but don’t come hungry. All you low carb, keto people will love this place :)
Delightful and delicious. Fresh, interesting, and varied menu, a little for everyone. Friendly staff and extraordinarily accommodating to my requests. Just enough asking of how I was, but not overdone. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. Hope to return soon!
Went for restaurant week and it was the perfect choice. My salad that was beet and strawberry’s it had the most amazing dressing. I had a fish (maybe troutand it had perfect roasted vegetables on some sort of barley base. It was a mix of delicious flavors. The desert was a warm chocolate brownie cupcake that could not of been more tasty. My husband had a different meal and his was perfect also. The service was great also.
We’ve been to every restaurant in the immediate vicinity. A Kitchen is better than just about everything near by. I had the fluke, wonderfully prepared, flaky and moist with a crispy top. My wife had the ribs, nicely spiced with roasted peppers, not too spicy but not too sweet. Drinks were terrific. Paul the wait staff was knowledgeable, and made suggestions that were accurately described. I’d definitely recommend over other restaurants on this block and we’ve been to them all multiple times.
Flavorful spaghetti nero. Tender beef hangar steak with tasty sauce and greens. Delivered quickly. Was transferred to a recently vacant table with shade on our request. Drinks slightly lacking. But overall good food and good service.
I always try to visit this restaurant every restaurant week because they seem to come up with interesting additions to their menu year after year. This time I had their beef tartare and beet salad. I have always tried to be adventurous with food, and the beef tartare was definitely a first for me. It was delicious and unique, however I doubt I will have that dish again. The beet salad was equally amazing.Service was impeccable.
Hotel restaurants can be a hit or miss, and this one is definitely a hit! We were having a quick lunch and ordered two power lunches: celery roots, lentils soup, lamb stew, and mussels. Every dish was amazingly flavored. We could genuinely feel that the chef innovated these familiar items with their own (goodtwists. The only small problem was the bread was slightly more toasted than needed. On top of that, the wait staff was amazing. We were having long conversations before and during four lunch. Without being intrusive, our waiter checked on us at least 5 times before we ordered.I want to give special shoutout to Jasmine in the kitchen. We sat at the chef’s bar and she offered to explain the menu to us. At the end of our meal, she offered us a complimentary chocolate peanut butter cake. She made the already great meal even better. Highly recommended!
Not your average menu.. the chef creates amazing dishes with ingredients not found on average menus and combines the flavors with things that are familiar.. heavenly tastes making every bite more amazing then the last
The veges cooked so delicious, recommend the eggplant and mushrooms! The cheese dumplings are standing out!
The food was really good but the service was even better. The mushroom appetizer was solid. The cauliflower main course was soooo good. And I’m not a vegetarian. The char along with the yogurt sauce were perfect. We really liked the duck too. Our second great meal experience here. Definitely check it out!
I want so badly to give them four stars because Im bitter the wine flight cost $30 (look at those tiny pours!!)... But the food was excellent and the wine was soooo good! The service was quick and courteous. I will definitely come back to try other offerings. I might pregame though 😉
Went for brunch and it was a very solid experience. Service was a little sloppy, lots of misplaced plates when they made it a point to take the order by seat number.Want to go back to take a shot at the bar program, cocktails seemed good and the Bloody Mary was on point.
Enjoyed a great meal before seeing The Nutcracker. Food and ambiance was excellent. Really appreciated that the waitress and chefs positively responded to my request to be done in 45 minutes. Will definitely be back.
The experience was overall good. I went here as part of the restaurant week in Philly. Nothing really blew me away but everything was good. Dont think Ill be returning any time soon, but I do recommend you try it out to see if its up your alley.
Dining at a.kitchen is always delightful. I recommend sitting at the counter for a full, immersive food experience. The food is top notch, fresh and very flavorful.
My experience was mixed. It felt like they didnt know what to do with me when I didnt want wine. It looks like a place more for wine drinking than anything else. The food was nice - brought to the table and enthusiastically introduced by the chef. I felt like it was a little too pretentious for my taste.
I have only had drinks here. Will come back after a proper meal for a full review. We walked by here on a warm February night and noticed many tables outside that were available. We just ordered cocktails, and they were great. A nice, unpretentious spot, right off Rittenhouse Square, to have drinks or food, and people watch.
One of the best high end cocktail places in center city. The bartenders are very knowledgeable and friendly.
