214 S Washington Square, Lansing, MI 48933, United States, East Lansing
Locally owned counter-serve chain with a diverse menu of soups, sandwiches, salads & mac nā cheese.
Ordered this place on GrubHub. It was pretty late due to GrubHub, but the food itself was pretty good. I didnt give a 4 because of the food being late. Only reason I dont give it a 5 is because its sort of similar to a Panera bread but much more expensive. The soup could also use a little more seasoning. I really liked the bread though
Pretty expensive for the little cups they have not not to mention their greatest chicken noodle soup didnt have hardly anything in it I had maybe 5 bites and the rest was all broth. I wont be coming back to this place.
Food is amazing!! Unfortunately I had a problem with Grubhub taking my order and dropping it off at a random address and not wanting to bring it to me. So the manager guy decided to make and bring me my lunch and personally had it to me! Again thank you so much!!!!
Its good. Soup is delicious, sandwiches are a bit to bready for me. All and all, pretty good.
nothing bad to say ! The service is simply impeccable, the food is great for a quick lunch & is often crawling with politicians & lobbyists.
Um, the southwest sandwich didnt look like the photo. It was two slices, a cut in half slice of tomato and a piece of cheese. The lobster bisque was ok. I give the bisque a 6.5 and the sandwich a 3, only because cardboard is a 1 and the soup had real lobster. Stomach ache after eating there.
soup is good, but prices are high for what you get. It would be nice if they were open for more than a couple of hours per day, but I guess thats the norm for downtown Lansing.
This place would have gotten 5 stars if it werent for the black guy with the bad attitude š. I love this place and their food but will stop coming to this location because of the bad attitude and inappropriate conversations behind the counter when I eat. Several times I came here its the same situation. Poor management I guess. The black guy ask like hes doing you a favor by seving you.
Id give them four stars if their prices werent so high. Then I see that their average annual salary is $23,000 per year and I know those high prices arent going towards a living wage. Maybe I wouldnt give four stars...
I work downtown and this is one of my favorite places to stop for a quick and delicious bite. The store is always cleaned and well maintained and the staff are some of the friendliest people I have ever interacted with. The manager even remembered my name the last time I went in, I go there maybe once or twice a month so I think its pretty amazing that the manager would even remember me. Outstanding customer service and great soup! Whats not to love?
Usually I have no issues, however today, I ordered 1 lobster bisque and 2 chicken pot pies. I also asked for extra crumbles. When I get home, there are no crumbles. I go back, the doors are locked. A young man answers the door ad politely brings the crumbles. I get back home only to find she gave me two chicken noodle soups instead of the chicken pot pies. Not happy...
Food is always top notch, the crew is ALWAYS accommodating and quick to serve. Free samples and a variety of tasty soups too.
It was excellent! I got a broccoli cheddar bread bowl the soup was top 3 for sure maybe even the best I ever had!! They wanted 2.50 for a can of pop though! Get your beverage from the gas station first!! Lol
First time eating from here. Ordered on line. Got soup in a bread bowl. Loved it! My only complaint is that i needed more soup! Need to offer bigger sizes of soup!
Just tried for the first time with my boyfriend. The workers were super nice and helpful and let us try some soups which honestly they were all so good but my heart was set on the fire roasted tomato when I tried it, it was so delicious and the club sandwich was soooo good!!! Definitely coming back ! Also the restaurant was super clean. Very impressed
Great food, but always wildly crowded during the lunch hour. They could probably have double the space and still be full. Would absolutely recommend, just prepare for little personal space during the lunch time rush.
Most people that work downtown know of this place for lunch. Its a solid joint with plenty of options for soup. Its a little bit on the expensive side for soup and a sandwich, but its quality food.
Beware of ordering delivery from here. They use Postmates to deliver their food and I never got my order. They refunded my money but at that point my entire lunch hour had been wasted and I had no time to get anything else. I appreciate the refund but would have appreciated the food more. Now Im starving.
The soup was good and ready but it took the staff 45 min to pour it into a bowl.If you feel like eating there, do yourself a favor, dont go during lunch time.To the Zoup team, I suggest you take care of soup orders first, after all its ready and have a different way of dealing with large to go orders.I wont be having lunch at your the downtown Lansing again.
I enjoyed the food, I ordered Singapore quash. the only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because the bread was served cold, or unwarmed. However I think it is a wonderful, conveniently located, and affordable restaurant!:Blessings to Zoup. I was even given a extra bread after I made an order for additional multibread.:)
Ive never seen 6-7 people working in one place and it taking so long to get a wrap. Or a bowl of soup. All of them stand there not knowing what to do. I ordered my veggie wrap today, stone cold and supposed to be toasted. Horrible service. Takes forever. Just deplorable.
Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch after a visit to the state capital. They had 12 different soups made fresh daily along with salads and sandwiches. They let you taste any of the soups and the ones we tasted were excellent. Its a quick service restaurant, great for families and offers a kids menu.
Nice staff and good food. Clean and cozy environment.
Fantastic place to eat! Excellent service, let my family and I sample ALL the soups happily. Sandwiches are delicious too and the wonderful organic drinks. Very very pleased with the decision to eat here
Nothing tastes better after walking around Old Town in Lansing than a soup. This is the best place for soup in the greater Lansing area and i stand by my statement. The lobster bisque is amazing and your even allowed to sample the soups before purchasing. The staff add to the rating with friendly help in guiding us to their bestsellers and even their own favorites. This is a must for anyone in Old Town or even anyone in Lansing to stop by.
For a chain restaurant, this was a decent experience at Zoup! It was very busy at lunch, and overall a small place - so there is a lot of jockeying for seats. However, with a little patience, everyone will get seated! The food was definitely decent for a chain location. I ordered a Sonoma chicken salad, and the bison chilli. Both were good, and made for an enjoyable lunch. Not a bad spot on Washington Square.
When in Lansing, Michigan stop here for lunch. Neat little place. Menu built around healthy lifestyle options, catering to everyone from vegans and carnies to gluten conspiracy theorists. Tried their flight of soup. You get your choice of three soups in 5 oz cups for as little as $8. Great deal for a great meal.
Ive been here twice. Both times I got a soup and salad combo for about 10 bucks. The soup is insanely good. The service was great too. They gave me good recommendations. To Zoup Management: Let us tip your employees. Its messed up you dont allow that. Shame on you.
I love Zoup because of the variety of soups they offer and their service is always the best. They always have several vegetarian options. I love that their soup menu changes daily. The staff is always very friendly and cheerful. The food tastes great. A little pricey though. A bread bowl, drink and cookie was $12.50.
Delicious food. It is very crowded and very busy, but the wait time is shorter than it seems. Their soup was rich and the sandwiches were not dry or soggy so just right. I have not been disappointed with any bite from the food I ordered, even the ones where youre at the ends of the sandwich.
Its always busy and they are a bit overpriced, IMHO. Their soup is good, I had the lobster bisque and would highly recommend it. Good place for lunch if you dont mind standing in line.
Love the large variety of soups, and how theyre always switching them up. Their sandwiches are delicious. Only downside is its always busy. Need a couple more Zoups in or around Lansing.
Zoup has the best soup by far. So many unique flavors that Ive never seen anywhere else. Im on a mission to try as many as I can. If you are ever in need of a hot bowl of comforting soup, this is your place.
This is a chicken caesar salad review. I ordered a full size, and it is enough for two lunches depending on the day. I dont know if this is always true, but it was 99% dark leafy romaine lettuce (a good thinginstead of the thicker stalk/rib parts as you get closer to the base of the hearts. There was plenty of chicken and just enough parm and croutons. The proportions were spot on. That, and it was all in smaller pieces like a chopped salad. Much easier to eat. The multi-grain hunk of bread was also fresh and tasty. A really solid meal for $8 and change.
The soups are pretty good. I like that they have gluten free soups and vegan soups as well. Take a look at their website to view which soups are gluten free or vegan. The staff is always friendly and I love that you can sample any soup.
Zoup has a large variety of soups and other items, such as salads and sandwiches. I like that you are able to try the soups before choosing one to order. Their bread is delicious. My favorite is the chicken pot pie soup. I think they are pricey so I only eat here when I am craving a hot bowl of soup during fall and winter.
Its not just soup! Its so addicting! Best ever! The sandwiches are great dipping in them into ANY soup! Also, one should be opened in Owosso so we dont have to travel to Lansing every time we get a craving.... Once a week lol
Nice Zoup location with friendly staff and quick service. When itās busy, itās hard to find a place to wait for your āto goā order due to the small space.
WOW!!! I stopped in for lunch while attending a conference at the Lansing Center. It was a fairly cool Michigan spring day. Previous days leading up to today had been in the 70s. Today however was in the 50s and it was raining. Soup sounded great. They had a massive selection and offered large samples before I ordered. I got the pick two as well as a sandwich. That was a TON of food. I am. It proud but I did manage to eat it all. While the food is fantastic while there I witnessed a father and toddler son enjoying lunch and when they were done and about to leave the owner approached and offered to take care of their tray and high chair. At the time I though wow this place has great management who are very involved with Day to day operations. On a last note as I was about to leave, while I refilled my coke the machine had a few hiccups (air in the lines/ running out of productand the owner rushed over to apologize and tried to remedy the problem. Yet again I was extremely impressed, if I was a local I would make this a regular stop.
Remarkably friendly staff, never felt more welcomed in a restaurant before! The young lady working the counter was wonderfully helpful. The soup and sandwich was also delicious. Will be back for sure.
If you want a great salad and soup, Zoup is the absolute best! My personal favorite is the Asian Chicken Salad and Lobster Bisque. I have never had a bad experience here and although its a little pricy, its totally worth it since the portions are huge and the food is ALWAYS fresh and prepared beautifully. Im not in the downtown area....note to Owner: Please open a Zoup in the East Lansing/Okemos area! Also, the customer service is always excellent.
One of the main reasons I miss working Downtown!! Zoup is AMAZING and has the most delicious soup and sandwich/salad combos!! Their lobster bisque is beyond good BUT their pumpkin pie bisque will always be my #1...I look forward to the fall specifically for this soup!! Their tuna and southwest turkey sandwiches are AWESOME as well!!
We love this place!! Unfortunately, today, the Macaroni & Cheese soup was not available, as Zoups e-mail stated it was. That soup was why we chose today to go. Nevertheless, Zoup remains our favorite lunch spot, and will continue to be. As a sidenote, the staff is exceptionally friendly, and efficient, even when busy. Great place to eat!!
The soup and sandwiches are delicious. I am always offered the opportunity to sample the soups. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Very crowded at lunch time so go early or late 11:30 to 1:30 seems to be the lunch rush.
Been here twice now, customer service is great and the soups are delicious. I also enjoyed the bread bowl. The salads are good as well. If you have a craving for soup, this is the place to go.
Ive only been inside once, but have had takeout many time. The food is all so yummy. Their chocolate chip cookies are my favorite! Try the tomato basil soup, it doesnt disappoint.
Its good for a quick lunch, with a decent variety of soups. Its easy to take friends along, since theres something for everyone. It can be a bit busy, being in downtown, but the line is quick to move, and you can sample the soup while youre waiting and trying to decide. The Chicken Pot Pie is a favourite of mine, but their rotating soups have never failed me. The price is quite reasonable.
I always recommend ZOUP when friends and family are in town. The food tastes great and fresh. I love that you can sample the soups before ordering. The staff are always friendly and courteous, too. Its my absolute favorite lunch spot in downtown Lansing!
Absolutely love this location! Such great, friendly staff and ensure to make everything perfect. Have not had a bad experience ever! Great soup & sandwiches! I love spending my lunch time at Zoup! :)
As the other reviews will tell you the food is great; which is true. Their customer service is also exemplary. The crew there always makes sure that you have a good experience and are quick to fix any problem you may have. There are lots of choices for lunch downtown and Zoup! keeps me coming back not only for their excellent food but also for their excellent service.
