Calle Paseo del Zoológico 600, Huentitán El Alto, 44390 Guadalajara, Jal., Mexico, Zapopan
Popular zoo featuring a wide range of animals, plus shows, train tours of the park & an aquarium.
Safari makes it so much better, make sure you get this option. 18 usd per person maxed out blue bracelets its worth it.5 usd basic plan. Some animals are very chubby. You get to interact with animals and feed them, extra cost to feed them.
Great zoo. Food is subpar. Recommend the diamond package unless you have young kids that are too short for the sky lift
In general good, its huge! A lot of different animals but some cages look dirty. However its big and you can see a lot, takes some time to go around.
They had nice habitats for the animals and the safari was great.
This was a beautifully manicured zoo with really complete exhibits. Some better options for food would have been nice but I get that there may not be a large enough market for that.
The best zoo I have visited! Worth the stop if youre in Guadalajara.
While visiting Guadalajara for a friends wedding, I had a free morning and afternoon so I decided to check out the local zoo. I am so glad I did and would highly recommend doing the same to anyone with a free day! Though navigating the trip to the zoo was a bit chaotic (thankfully I had a very nice Uber driver who helped), the visit was fantastic. The zoo was quite expansive with lots of different exhibits available and many different animal exhibits to enjoy. The staff were kind and courteous and very helpful, despite my limited Spanish vocabulary. A couple of things I would note for first time visitors: 1there is a lot of incline/decline walking and many flights of stairs and/or ramps, so plan accordingly. Its a workout. 2I highly recommend buying food and bringing it in. Aside from the walking tacos (which are amazing), the food is limited and not very appetizing. Luckily, there are some amazing local food vendors (tentsright outside the main entrance you can choose from before going in. 3make sure you dont go on a day when its too hot. Most of the exhibits have a ton of open and uncovered space so the animals are less likely to be out if its really hot. The areas with shade are closed in and you may not see the animals at all. 4whatever you do, make sure you take advantage of the giraffe encounter! For roughly $2.50 USD I was able to feed and pet a giraffe! It was the coolest. The staff are really nice and you can tell they love the experience and the animals. It was without question one of the big highlights of my entire trip. 5you can do the aquarium and zoo in one day, but you will probably need a full day. So plan accordingly.
Great zoo.. clean, friendly, affordable. Definitely ride the gondola.
The Aquarium way better than Michi Aquarium. Down part you can only ride the tram and safari once.
I recommend the Diamond package. There’s a lot of walking.Safari ride is rough road *No seat belt*The train is a one time use with the bracelet. The skyline has great views. It’s difficult getting on and off.The aquarium is small. Best part is feeding the manatees. The penguin building smelled horrible. However it was cute seeing the penguins. As for foodYou can bring your own food.I had popcorn <~Terrible, burntCheeseburger <~ I didn’t like the tasteNachos <~ greatQuesadilla <~ okayThe facilities are outdated but it’s not a big deal.Overall it’s a great place to visit.
Its gotta be the nicest and most complete zoo in Mexico. They have an outstanding aquarium, a really nice safari ride, an air rail, a train tour and what not. I highly recommend to get the full pass ticket so you can enjoy as much as you can without queueing in every attraction. Food is okay, and the place opens at 8:30 am so arrive on time because by 9:00 am is packed.Oh and you can also get to feed the manatí, that was awesome!
Amazing experience!!!Zoo was so clean and nice crew there.Visited with my daughter (toddler, she had so much fun and most of the places inside allowed to feed live animals with a decent prices. We loved it!!!
The view at the smack dab middle of the cable car ride was breathtaking. It would be easy for a family to spend all day here and have loads of fun. I’d love to come back!
The grounds of the zoo make it a perfect place to bring the kids along for a day visit, especially during the rainy season when everything’s green around you!The zoo has been very well kept and it’s installations improved over the years. It is a much nicer place now than several years ago, when trees were still very young and provided very little shade. All trees around the property are now mature and shaded paths are all over the zoo.
Do not get the food! Chicken nuggets were sooooooo bad. Great price for everything you get in the diamond package. Animals looked happy and well taken care of.
Quite nice for a zoo, but lacking a few animals. The cable ride was fun. The staffs are terrible and not friendly at all. Would go back for the cable car and the view of the mountain.
Came to Guadalajara with my granddaughter who wanted to visit the Zoologico Guadalajara, and we were pleasantly surprised to see how much there was to see. So much greenery...everything was lush, overgrown, trees that have been here for decades. The exhibits were very well designed, for example the monkey areas: cables which supported the netting, as well as the enclosure which allows the animals to go from area to area, a great job. Our favorite was the ride thru the Masai. Wow. You see the many different animals in their natural environments, living in harmony with other animals. Youre able to witness the water buffalo, the ostriches, antelopes, alligators of the Nile river. Along with the Elephants, the Rhinos, the Hippos and so much more. There is so much to see and experience within these walls. Come and spend some time, you will be coming back again. 😎👍👍
While the zoo is small, it is very hilly, so be prepared. The safari tour is a must!!
An incredibly beautiful zoo that has a lot of fun things to do including a safari and train rides. A must visit if in Guadalajara.
There are a variety of tickets available which allow you access to different areas. All are very reasonably priced. I got the basic zoo package and really enjoyed the day. The monkey land feature was fantastic and the monkeys were free to run around and up to you. The day does involve a lot of walking and hills which may not be ideal in the heat with children, but you can pay a small amount more for the train or chairlift to avoid that. The only negative I found was how busy some of the areas such as the reptile house were, which meant you were shuffled through quite quickly but we were there on a nday which is the busiest day. Overall, would definitely recommend and if I were to return would buy the ticket add ons for more areas.
Its a nice zoo. You can get close to the animals. Specially in the safari tram. It was really empty when I went, almost felt like having the whole soon to ourselves. It was on a Friday.
Beautiful experience in GDL. This is a must when you are in Guadalajara. I bought the Diamante which includes everything! The SkyZoo is amazing, the aquarium, The penguins and the safari Masai Mara it was such a wonderful experience. I think the price has a balance of what is included, obviously is more expensive if you buy everything separately. Many people when holidays. Many queues to do in the entrance to buy tickets, in the Safari and in the Skyzoo. Anyway it is a must, an experience that worth what it cost!
Fun place to visit as a family, there are three different types of tickets, the simple one does not include the safari or the cable car, but it is more than enough to have a good time and you can pay inside the zoo in cash to use the Safari or cable car.
I had really good day at the zoo. Its a one day activity. Thanks for keeping it up. Note: Safari, penguin is not worth the cost. They can improve it.
Well maintained ZOO, there are 3 packages 100, 260, 330 peso. 100 peso for Normal walk through visiting animals. For marine, safari, sky zoo have to buy 260 or 330 peso package. I could suggest get 330 peso package and go morning time 10 am so you can complete all these areas. Foods are available inside zoo. Penguin, Marine, Sky zoo, White Lion, kangaroo are highlights in this zoo. Close to ZOO childrens park also there... kindly plan accordingly full day visit for kids with family..
Love it! Definitely suggest to purchase the diamond package so all views of the zoo can be appreciated.
I was very impressed. Beautiful place, lots of flora and the animals well taking care of.
Nice place to spend time with friends and family. The zoo is so big that I will suggest you to wear comfortable shoes sneakers preferably. They have a lot of activities to do in the zoo. The price of the ticket is reasonable not at all expensive. It includes cable train tour, train ride and many more stuff with in the zoo. You’ll find small cafe to grab something real quick to eat.
Amazing place to visit and spend some time with your family and friends. If you visit Guadalajara someday, be sure to go. You wont regret it :)
First time here with my family! Came for my daughters birthday she loved it and so did my wife! Just a great time and definitely will come back!
Well maintained and well organised zoo with sufficient covid safety protocols. Go early to see the animals awake. The diamond package includes everything especially the sky zoo skilifts. On weekdays, children get a discount but not during school holidays. The skyzoo is open only at station 1 near the entry, so it is a back and forth trip, no getting out at the far end at present. Also only station 1 of the panoramic land train is currently open for boarding, station 2 and 3 are only for getting off if one wishes. The bird show happens at the auditorium at 12 and 3, not bad but nothing great either. The aquarium and herpetarium are not very big. The restaurants all serve the same fare, not many vegetarian options. At the far end close to the barranca, there are picnic tables and nice views over the canyon. The safari in the masai mara african section was decent, they wiped down the van with disinfectant between each ride. The polar bear looked lonely. The lions and wolves were good to watch from overhead from the skyzoo. Toilets available near all restaurants, quite clean. There are 2 entrances, only the main one near Selva Magica has parking, the other one on Calz Independencia is pedestrian only, that is closer to the aquarium. Overall a relaxing and fun way to spend a day in Guadalajara.
Is small but it has all a zoo should haveNice view at the en of cable ride no to miss people was friendly and have a covid prepared protocols it was over all fun place
This zoo is a good size area, with many animals from around the world to see, in an excellent location. The price is great, especially with the diamond pass getting you access to the train and sky lift. Great views from all areas.
Very cool zoo with amazing views and exhibits. Animals seem really well cared for!Food stands have decent local options and junk food mix, but good prices overall. They offer a luggage storage service after you enter the park. Nice bonus for traveling 👍
Great zoo! Had an awesome experience here. This place is huge, clean, and the staff very helpful. Be prepared to walk quite a bit, but it is worth it. The unlimited train ride is a sound investment, and I suggest you get it when you buy your tickets. If you can, choose a cloudy or cool day.
This was a large zoo, but it was really hard to see the animals..because the zoo was large it meant everything was ways away from each other...so if you go wear comfortable shoes and drink plenty of water, June is hot there.. I was looking forward to some type of activity that actually involved some interaction with the animals but they didnt have anything like that...
I love the Guadalajara Zoo. I personally like it better than the American counterpart, primarily because you can bring your own food and have a wonderful picnic. Pick a spot of really nice green grass under the countless shade provided by the bountiful trees and relax.
Went to Guadalajara and decided to head to the zoo. From a recommendation, I thought sky zoo would be relaxing. It was just that. Great birds eye view. Great shade. We walked through the zoo a bit and the sky zoo was all we needed. In the heat that is sometimes experienced in this beautiful city, the sky zoo, provided all the comfort we needed to see the animals.
Very good and nicely maintained, get diamond pass and it will cover all the package.Cons: Card not accepting anywhere inside zoo, so please carry some cash.
Its a beautiful park. Definitely worth the time and money. Im not real into animals but I found it very enjoyable. There is plenty of shade throughout the park. Bathrooms were clean. Tips: Make sure you do the Safari. Avoid the concession stands. The food sucks.
Really enjoyed the zoo. We did the diamond pass which allowed the sky ride and the train with the Safari and entrance to everything else. We saw the bird show and really enjoyed our time here. The food was good and affordable. I would highly recommend on your visit to stop here!
Sky zoo was fun. They also have a train that takes you from one side of the zoo to the other with stops in between, so you can get out and explore all of the exhibits.
The zoo itself is very beautiful and has alot of amazing animals. The "Antarctic" part on the other hand is such a rip off. Not with even 5 pesos and youre charging 50 per person! You stand on a mat that pulls you alot and you get to see 5m of penguins once and thats it. Such a rip off. But the other stuff is great
This place gets better everytime I go there (except prices), it now has an area with penguins and an aquarium. I had a really great time there, even one of the little monkeys got up into me and it felt funny. Its a place every person should go to at least once in their life (specially with their family). Once advise: be prepared to walk a lot, I wasnt.
I loved this place. Although I reccomend going for the Premium bracelet instead of the Diamond bracelet. The only difference is that it includes the "Sky Zoo" but you can hardly even see any of the animals clearly. The same goes for the train. You dont actually see that many animals by using the train but at least here you get to hear about the animals. My two favorite parts were the Safari (although the line was aproximately 1hr 30min longand the Penguins. Ill throw in the aquarium too.
Excellent location lots of shaded areas very vlean animals look well keeped and happy be prepared to do alot of uphill walking and semi step inclines also. Train ride has long lines so be ready for the wait times coukd be an hour or two depwmdong 9n how busy they het
I recommend you come for the aerial tramway “SkyZoo”. It is a great way to start your trip in the zoo. Beautiful zoo and well maintained with a small safari zone where you can feed the giraffes. I also recommend Monkey Land so you can get close to the small monkeys. A lot to do here so come early !
Awesome place for kids.. very vast.. could not cover in a day.. SkyZoo was nice experience as was the Safari and train... Well maintained and good facilities...Worth a visit when in Guadalajara...
I like the layout and variety of animals, especially the very cuddlesome giraffe. I recommend Diamond Access for all areas and transportations for only $265 adults and $185 kids. All other tickets are $120 pesos or less
They have improved the place a lot since like 5 years or so. The prices are Ok. A good option to take the family out on a weekend. You can also can bring you own food and have a picnic...
