Le Tertre Rouge, 72200 La Flèche, France, Nantes
Home to species including tigers & elephants, with live bird & sea lion shows, plus accommodation.
Fantastic zoo, well laid out, animals looked content and we saw all of them clearly. The grizzly bears and polar bears were amazing as was the bird show 🦒🦩🦛😃
Coool 👍🏻
Probably the best zoo I’ve been too.Absolutely fantastic
Amazing place, amazing animalsI saw capybarasThis bird was very nice and didnt attack me, but did to others10/10
Really amazing place, beautifully presented, great live shows, very eco friendly, good food.
Really good zoo. Very well thought out. Shady on a hot day and plenty of different viewing angles for the animals.
Great experience ! Everythings perfect except the food (only one restaurant open).
Good zoo to visit with young kids.
What a lovely place. Not too big, not too small, just right for a good days visit. Plenty to see in enclosures that really let you get up as close as you dare! At the moment, no big crowds either to jostle you, so really a good time to visit in comparative peace. (Returning to the car park, not a single foreign number plate, all were local except ours....sign of the times.
I was amazed at how nice the park was not only for the visitors but for the animals as well. I was super satisfied with my day and my kids loved every minute!
It was amazing! I really had a great time with my family. Especially the birds spectacle was fabulous! And at the madagascar zone, you can see Lemurs very closely. If you are lucky, they jump on your shoulder and stay (but you are not allowed to touch). I totally recommend this place. Thank you very much!
Brilliant! The bird show was stunning and the grizzly bear was playing happily with a log in the water. It was a joy to watch an animal in captivity obviously having a nice time.
magnificent zoo, young and old alike loved it.
Shouldnt be visited if its too hot because its not possible to see all the animals. They are hiding in the shadows when its too sunny. There are no reptiles. Other than that it was great.
Fabulous boutique style zoo, highly recommend watching the grizzly bears playing in their river pool for hours... and love the birds spectacle.. its breathtaking watching them flying low over your heads. We buy a years pass every year and go as often as we possibly can. A great day out for the whole family, highly recommended.!
A really great visit. This was our third visit and it was as interesting as the first. Our favourite event was the birds display 🦉 We well go back again after the confinement.
Excellent zoo and the animals seem very well looked after
Great experience with kids. We stayed at one of the lodges. The food was great, the cabins are clean and fit perfectly within the theme and are very spacious. Amazing that you can visit the zoo after closing hours. We saw more animals then, then during the heat of the day. However we did not really know what was included in our stay (the tour of the zoo behind the scenes). They should really advertise this more as it is worh it.
Let me start by saying that I am not really a fan of zoos and prefer animals to be in their natural environment. Having said that it is great to be able to get up close to animals and to understand that we need to protect them.Zoo la Flèche is a place that my grand children love, the animals are kept in spacious and natural enclosures and a huge improvement on the city centre zoos of my childhood, it is a great day out and you will not feel fleeced by the experience. Be ready for quite a bit of walking and climbing to get the most out of the visit.
Its an amazing place to visit especially with kids of any age they will love it.
Wow what a great Zoo it has a massive range of different animals to look at and the shows are great especially the bird show. The price is very reasonable and there are plenty of rest/picnic areas if you bring your own food. It is hilly in places and a little steep so bear that in mind if you use or are pushing a wheelchair or pushchair. A great day out
An excellent family day out at this zoo. We saw almost all the animals but some were hiding and a few enclosures were under repair. Its does costs a fair bit, 72€ for 3 adults. Food and drink on site were lovely.
Worst zoo ever. Avoid at all cost. Half of the animals are not there, you have to walk for miles and bearly can see one or two animals advertised with no tiger and half of the animals were away asleep at midday!!
Brilliant as usual. V close to animals, lots of them. You dont have to walk too far. Highlights - birds of prey and sealion display.
Probably the best zoo Ive been to.Only let down by the lack of food outlets (only the main cafeteria open, all kiosks & snack outlets shut).
great zoo with good animal selection that seem well cared for and are easy to see but let down by a poor sea lion show and excessively expensive drinks
Do not visit at peak season. The crowds are unbearable. Narrow paths clogged up by people pushing empty pushchairs (being used as replacement trolleys to carry their things?). At low season the zoo would be a good option. Well stocked and well presented. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
We stayed overnight at the Beaver Creek lodge (overlooking grizzly bearsand it was by far one of the best experiences of my life. The rooms are amazing, dinner was excellent and the whole thing felt really special on every level. It was good fun to walk around the zoo in the after hours. overall we spent around 24 hours inside and we could stay even longer.
Nice zoo with great felines, bears, hippopotamus..Shows are on timeDrinks and sweets a bit expensive but you can bring your own
Very good zoo with lots of animals and big enough to avoid crowds even when busy. Also open until quite late if crowds are really not your thing!Downsides are:Price: adult prices start from 12y old. A family of 4 with 2 teenagers is 96 euros.Signposting: the map is quite good but the signs arent explicit enough; the routes are sometimes not obvious.Paths: some of the paths are uneven and the decking is rotten so mind your footing. Also the plants could do with cutting back; there are a lot of drips when it rains! All that said, we spent hours watching the elephants and giraffes, and if youre lucky, the hippos will put on a swimming display for you!
Very hot sunny day, most of the animals asleep /under cover.went to Polar Bear show twice - bear didnt appear assume asleep!! Suggest dont go on hot sunny dayEither take own food or eat before 2pm, catering limited after 2pm!! Good walkways and did see some animals after 5.30-6pm
Beautiful zoo lots of to for the Animals really neat ! We loved it
Nice place. We enjoyed a lot our visit there and felt very authentic in the zoo as each animal shelter was very beautifully designed and very similar to what nature offers. Animals seemed to be well-fed and relax. Our advice is too take yourself an enire day to visit the zoo because there are many spectacles and activities to do. You also can be a zoo keeper for a day. Enjoy your visit, it will be amazing.
Nice day with the kids, but waiting time for lunch too long. Please staff better next time for those week-end out of schoolar holidays. Animals were amazing.
Fantastic day out! Would highly recommend it for all ages!
Wonderful experience! Although i would recommend to maybe come to the zoo a bit earlier since in the afternoon lot of animals were hiding and/or sleeping.
Quite possibly the best zoo I have ever been to..never thought I would get the opportunity to see a Polar Bear..
The zoo is nicely made with a lot of room for most animals. I preferred the beginning of the walk, were youd have a different animal every corner you take. The shows are also worthwhile, but too much talking for my taste. The biggest dowside was the new part of the park. Its a very long walk with young children under the searing sun, and doesnt actually show you a lot of animals. In all its a nice activity to do with children. Id definitely advice you yo visit the park if you want something to do in the neighbourhood.Ps: the pop corn you can buy at the entrance is meant for the little farm for kids.
Fabulous zoo, well laid out and good enclosures. Staff helpful and its all well sign posted. We covered about 6/7 miles so be prepared for a large zoo. Lots of shaded walkways thank goodness and areas to eat. They do start closing down about an hour before closing so make sure youve had a top up of something v cold be free that.
We had a wonderful day exploring the great zoo. The attention to detail and care for the animals is amazing. And the staff we helpful and kind. My family and I couldnt recommend this more.
Amazing Amazing AmazingThe array of animals is impressive. White Tigers, rhinos, polar bears, elephants, giraffes. All the animals young children learn about and can therefore experience first hand. The zoo is nice and clean and the environment the animals are in seem really open and "natural".A great day out with young children!
Lots of different animals. Very clean. Some of the cages are quite small. Weak shows compared to others I have seen.
Nice zoo but pricey in our opinion. Due to the hot weather it was difficult to see a lot of the animals because they were shading from the heat.
Great place to take the kids! One of the greatest zoos i have been to.
Really great zoo it covers a large area so lots of walking, good selection of food at the restaurant and kiosks and the shows were great, loved the polar bears.
Great zoo with good displays. Get close to the animals, especially the lemurs, which are loose in one area and may even sit on you. Just dont expect to be able to eat at lunchtime because the queues are huge (over 1 hourand there are not enough staff to cope.
While Im not sure about animals being kept in captivity, if you are going to do it, this appears a model for other zoos. Impressive enclosures, fantastic paths and walkways and good educational talks.
Awesome zoo. One of the best I have visited in Europe. The live shows are wonderfully put together. The enclosures are beautifully put together, quite unique compared to what Ive seen anywhere else.
Cons:-smoking is allowed, even under the shows-more food stalls would be nice as they tend to get rather crowdedPros:-Very nice park, with a lot of shadowed places for both animals and visitors-Animals are treated with a lot of respect and care, which results in very healthy and playful animals.Would recommend to be in the area at least 2 days, as ALL the shows & animals are worth to see.
My family and I were quite disappointed with our visit today. We feel that we paid much more than the experience was worth.First, over 1/3 of the zoo was closed for construction. Workers, power tools cutting and making noise, and animals relocated, we missed out on seeing many animals and were annoyed by distractions.Second, despite being a Friday in June, only one restaurant (the most expensivewas open to the public. All the many others were closed. We, like many others, were stuck and paid for a VERY expensive lunch, which wasnt even very tasty or nutritious.Overall, we feel deceived and a bit ripped off. It was our sons first zoo visit, and we feel a bit bitter for having paid so much for so little.
