Collection of animals from around the world, with events including penguin-feeding displays.
Very nice place to go with kids. The lions are really close to us, providing a great experience!
A great zoo. Animals look well cared for and have ample space. The lion tunnel is amazing. We also visited the lights festival, which was truly magical. A super idea and amazingly done.
A cozy zoo with lots of different animals. We went on a week day and it was very quiet which was very nice as well.
Zoo was so-so but they forced me to pay for a more expensive ticket because "its the only one we have right now"
A very nice zoo in Gaia, not far from the city, but if you sre a tourist i recomend taking a cab, entrence is fair priced.anumals look clean, healthy and happy for being in captivity. Many toilets, totally ok daily food and kid friendly park. Totally recomend a visit here. Among the animals you will find cheeta, sibirian tiher, lion, giraffe, rhino, zebra, many lemurs and reptiles
Animals are beautifully kept and the staff were exceptionally happy to help. It wasnt easy getting to the zoo from fox/Porto. Taxi driver got lost and a bit shouty. The return journey was to be by the zoo bus, but the bus no longer runs to porto!! Fortunately, staff called a taxi for us and the return taxi trip was calm and the driver very helpful. The zoo is not too big, but the experience once in the zoo compound was excellent and very Family friendly.
Nice zoo, very clean and large enough to spend a few hours there. Easy to park and to drive to. Not too crowded. The night animals in a separate building are very worthwhile watching, I had never seen bats that close and as they are behind glass, theres nothing to worry about. If youre lucky you can see the lions from very close through the glass tunnel. Theres a large picnic area with a small playground for little children. Given that the entrance fee is not too high, I can recommend it for sure if youre somewhat nearby or if youre visiting Porto and want to spend the afternoon in a pleasant leisurely way.
Great zoo, good view and natural park.
The kids loved this place. You can even see animals right next to you. They have safari, good cafes and restaurants, and play grounds. Lovely place to spend a day with the family.
Lots of cool animals, cool activities and cool shop. Only problem was the tickets which were pretty expensive for 3 adults and 1 kid.
Really nice, not so big. Very friendly, lots of places to rest, very pleasant.
Nice zoo, not that big, but the animal areas are spacious. Bit weird that there is almost no public transport going to this zoo although probably not their fault. Theres a nice panorama view over the city too when you walk all the way to the back of the zoo.
Awsome place to bring kids and have some fun and at the same time learn about wildlife.
Wonderfull day. Plenty of space, easy walking, a must see in the area.
It has a high price but its worth going. Wonderfull , clean and lots of species
Not the biggest Zoo Ive ever visited, but anyway, its cool and well organised, especially for kids.
The Zoo itself is nice and quite big, but there are few things you cannot enjoy. There are simply no many animals! Not so many species. So therefore you cannot even compare it to Lisbon Zoo.Yes, there is free car park but what a mess it turns later in the afternoon... Millions of cars, parked on both sides of the road and even in the meadow making it impossible to safely walk to/from the Zoo or get out from the parking with car from the zoo. And there is nobody who is controlling this. This is shame.
The zoo is amazing with lots of space for the animals and very well taken care.It was a nice surprise in an unexpected location. The prairie dogs walk freely around the place and the kids just love follow them a peek into their wholes in the ground. The tunnel that crosses the Lions place is great idea and you get a chance to be face to face with or just underneath a lion.A great place to go with kids.
It is outside of the city, about 8 euros by bolt. 40 something euros for 2 adults and a 3 year old( 2 years free, 3 years euro 10, adults 15.They have a lot of animals, insects, snakes, different rodents, penguins, tiger, lion, hippo, rhinoceros … The place is huge and you need the time to rest. Small kids can get tired, so having a store helps. The pathways are not paved so sometimes are slippery due to gravel. They have plenty of resting arias with refreshments like ice cream or water and some light Portuguese snacks. There is a fist aid post and plenty of bathrooms clean. Not a bad place though sometimes looks unorganized.
Loved to visit the zoo. The animals are well taken care the more visits you make the more you help. Also they have the adoption initiative where you pay very little to sponsor an animal and can visit all the time, very nice initiative and you are helping in conservation of the animals around the world
The zoo was great. My daughter like it a lot.
Great Zoo in Vila Nova de Gaia, near Oporto. The lions dent is must see.
Good:*Parking available.*Spacious place, good variety of different species.*Very interesting for families and children.*Animals conditions ok (having in consideration that its not their natural habitat).*Friendly personnel.Potential to improve:*Additional sitting spaces, advised, to be installed along the park (specially appreciated by elderly people in hot days).*Restaurant meals could be improved.* 8€ for one picture should be re-evaluated (since color booklet not an added value for adults)But a place to return in the future
Great experience. Zoo de Santo Inacio plays a great role in helping endangered species, and the animals look very happy even though a few of them, for example the tiger doesn’t have as many space as it should. But most of them do have space. The people who work there are very nice, and they treat the animals very well. There are so many animals to look at and to appreciate, and the best part is that you can see the lions napping on top of tunnel you can walk through.
Great place to take the kids and have a nice day among the animals.
Lovely place to visit with the kids. I like to visit from opening time (10 amon, specially during the summer, as you can end your visit close to lunch time and have your meal. You have various places to sit and also areas dedicated to meals.
Great little zoo, were you get the feeling that the animais feel at home and are well taken care of.
Great place to spend a day with children. The entrance is a little expensive, mainly now that the eagles show is not occurring. Also, i think there is some need for more maps and suggested routes so a person can plan the day better and not to lose the scheduled activities. Other then that, all animals seem very well taken care, and the cages are spacious.
Im very careful when visiting zoos. I avoid going anywhere where there is a big chance animals are not well taken care of and where they will definitely not have space to have a happy, safe life. Zoo Santo Inácio is one of the best places for endangered animals or rescues to live in. They have a great conservation program and the conditions are great. You can see that all animals are fed properly and are very healthy and happy and rested. Its a wonderful place to visit and see very rare animals like the white rhino, the Asian lion and Humbolt Penguins. There is a tunnel where you can go in and see the lions sleeping or walking over you. There are giraffes, gazelles, lamas, monkeys and even snow leopards. The entrance fee is around 16 euros for an adult ticket. Overall, its a fascinating place and a perfect place to visit for half a day.
Nice Zoo, with a good variety of animals.
It isnt a very big zoo, but it was a wonderful experience for my children. There are many different animals and two dedicated areas for spiders and snakes. We spent a whole morning going around having a nice day
Spent a lovely afternoon here. Difficult to get to. There is a zoo bus from Cathedral in Porto.
Great place with the kids. Very child friendly. Good range of animals and shows
Great Family outing in a beautiful green area... Zoo is well kept.
Amazing lions and tigers!
Nice zoo with good variety of animals. Not very exotic but good for visit of 3 hours or so.
Nice zoo, but there’s a rats plague, between flamingos and the restaurant....
Nice park with lots of Animals which seem well cared for. The Lion Tunnel is a great inclusion and the lions seemed keen to lie on it allowing for a much closer view than normal. My only critique would be that the staff didnt seem to know where the Porto bus left from (more than 1 member of staffwhich caused us to miss the bus after they told us the wrong location but the zoo itself was great.
the zoo was very interesting I saw many new animal species that we do not have in our country staff at the zoo was very friendly and helpful and answer all the questions that you ask worth every cent
Awesome zoo near the city of Porto
Good zoo. Price 15 for adults and 10 for children (5-12).
Great place to spend the day with or without kids. Various activities throughout the day, great presentations with different bird species, animal feeding, etcTigers and Lions are amazing and have great enclosures where you can get very, very close.Prairie dogs are free across a part of the zoo!Prices are ok, not great, but worth it for the full experience.
A really lovely zoo, we spent 4.5hrs looking around. We read reviews about getting here but decided to get urber from our hotel which cost under 11 euros each way. Would highly recommend.
A lovely zoo. Staff really nice and friendly. Animals well treated. Good animals apresentation. Great sightseeing
brilliant zoo nice surroundings reasonably priced too
Small zoo but a good zoo ! Animals have large cages and animals look well cared for .
Not the most amazing zoo I have ever see, but its a nice place to spend an afternoon. The feeding of the animals is something you dont want to miss .
Nice zoo. It was very quiet when we were there. The view at the Savannah bar is beautiful. The zookeepers/caretakers were very friendly and tried their best to answer our questions in English. Good for half a day, then youve seen everything.
In my opinion this zoo is only good if youve never seen an animal before. I hated this zoo because it looks terrible. They claim that their main attraction is the "glass tunnel" but its so dirty that your photos will look like fog. Besides that, there were 2-3 animals per species and hidden because of the sun. The habitats arent similar to real ones. For example, I saw deers with a camel habitat that means no grass at all. Not recommended for the price(14.50€). Anyway, staff was so good and they gave me a full refund
A very nice zoo near Porto, in a very calm area. All animals look relaxed and are well taken care of
