Jalan Taman Zooview, Taman Zooview, 68000 Ampang, Selangor, Malaysia, Sepang
Open-concept zoo featuring a wide range of domestic & exotic animals, from elephants to seals.
Lots of animals to see and they seem well taken care of. Seeing the pandas are the highlight of my visit. Definitely worth going. If you wanna get cheaper tickets and avoid long Q, do buy online. I got it at RM37 instead of walk in rate of RM45 for Malaysian. I bought mine via Klook. If OKU, then have to go there claim the free ticket, no special lane for Q-ing though.
This zoo was so much bigger and better than expected. We enjoyed every minute here. The Pandas alone were worth it. But they literally had everything. Even wild monkeys that run around. Well worth the money for some good family fun in KL.
First of all, Parking is RM10, for Parking A. No roof or enough space during peak hour.Rm45 per adult. My friend got free entry because it is his birthday month. The zoo got a lot of animals, their staff are friendly and it is a well maintained zoo.
Good place to bring your child and enjoy to watch a lots of animals!Toilet clean, fast entrance (may be because weekday), plenty of foods to buy and eat. My son enjoyed his trip! 😊
Amazing. You’ll get your 10000 steps here. You can see most of the animals up close but I wish they’d use the money to make the enclosure larger and better. Some of the animals look too sad because they don’t have that much space to move around.
Good place for you to go with friend/family or by yourself. Suitable for animal lover. There are animal show and animal feeding session for your to participate. I enjoy my time here. Need to walk a lot to see all the animals if you dont opt for the train. Nice place to hang out with nature and animals along with exercise.
The garden & park theme of zoo negara is very convenient for me for taking my kids exploring the animal here. Wide roads with large canopy trees blocked the hotness of the sun makes walking around casually even during hot day. Really satisfied with the animal type and numbers, facilities and large area, feel not crowded at all. Thanks.
A good place for you to bring your kids to explore the animal kingdom. The tix price for locals is quite reasonable. The animal show is the main highlight of the visit, we love it so much. There is twice the show per day at 11.30 am and 3.00 pm. Highly recommended to come over here to support the National Zoo.
Neat and well maintained Zoo.You can walk around the entire zoo.Half a day is sufficient for the entire place. You will have Animal show on Saturdays at 11 AM in the morning.Dont miss the Panda centre and Giraffe watch tower.Lot of shops / vending machines to get drinks and snacks.
Lots of animals. If u want to use tram, need to add another money. RM8.90 for adult.Showtime 11am and 3pm. Kids really love it. Buy tickets online far more better ( no waitand cheaper. Parking B need to pay RM10 per entry.
One of the best zoo i visited, kid love it.But parking RM10 roadside.Quite clean, animals seems ok, aquarium area not on aircon, so hot and sweaty inside.Panda area is so crowded and no one come in to escalate those people to go out and let other ppl to have chance to see the panda.Overall ok, good experience. We enjoy it.
This zoo needs an update. If your 4 year old is not entertained or wow-ed clearly something has to be done to make this place more interesting and exciting. Animals are mostly sleeping or hiding in shelter. F&B and shops are outdated. Some parts eg rest area, toilets are poorly maintained. Visited when I was a lot younger, sad that still not much improvements made. Buy tickets in advance from Klook to get a discount.
Still a good place to visit if you love animals...But you can see the age and effects of time on the buildings.A few enclosures were empty, and some of the animals, especially the predators, look sad and neglected.A bit magical and heart-breaking in parts.
We love this zoo! It is clean and well cared for, the animals seem quite content, good options are great! Definitely must see the panda exhibit! They are just so cute! The Reptile house is also so cool! See if you can spot the animal in each enclosure!
I entered the zoo at around 13:00 pm and came out after the official zoo hours (i.e. 18:30), But still many places I couldnt visit such as Butterfly park. This is a very big zoo which houses a variety of Animals, fishes, Birds and Butterflies. So its better to visit early in the morning. I think there was one Animal show which we couldnt see due to the Sunday.
Had a great weekend with my family. I believe the place just got better sincr last time we visited here. The tiger looks healty compare to last time, even the giraffes area was improved. They should remove the panda, nothing to see really. The staff was very friendly. Car park too expensive, not reasonable. Cafeteria or food served can be improve more.
Bought ticket online through klook, and went the day of Hari Raya Haji around 9. Staff was dress in traditional malay clothes and was very friendly. the process of claiming the ticket band was smooth and easy.Theres animal show daily at 11am and 3pm, but during weekend the seats will run out easily so make sure to go early around half hour earlier to get a good spot.Theres 2 main restaurant in the zoo, one is the wild restaurant which serves fastfood, name was labeled on the map, the other is inside panda conservatory area called panda cafe. panda cafe food was meh at best, and doesnt serve nasi lemak or other local foods despite its mentioned in the website, they only serve fast food fried chicken fries spaghetti and burger, so might as well visit the wild restaurant for proper fastfood. theres also a few small non air conditioned stalls selling quick snacks like waffle, corn, and burgers. The zoo condition itself looks under maintained. lots of area which looks like they shouldnt be entered was open. saw many abandoned or sealed off parts and it ruins the environment of the zoo. the animal part is mostly fine, we get to see every animal listed on the map itself including tiger, panther, cheetah, capybaras, and even panda, which is the star of the zoo. According to the staff the best time to enter the panda conservatory is around 1:30 which the staff feeds them so they are active. we enter around 1230 and one of them is eating and another was sleeping.Overall its a very nice visit and hopefully the staff can repair the zoo so future visitors will enjoy the place more. rating it 5 star because:(pros)1. quick process to claim ticket2. panda was super cute3. staff was friendly, one of them even offer us to help feed the animal4. environment was chill and map is pretty clear of the access of everything5. the animal show was pretty good(cons)1. some area is closed, sealed off, under maintained2. food in panda cafe was so bad.3. some animals was in undermaintained area with very little people and look sad
Best place to enjoy your family time, zoo is walkable inside not very big. Can see in a close view with the animal. Overall nice place to go.
Worth the money! Our guide has been really helpful and accommodating. My son has difficulty walking and the hire a buggy service was really helpful😊
Good experience and you can get the shuttle train if you need but need to pay for it. The entrance ticket is RM 45 for adults. The sad things is the water inside the aquarium is a bit dirty for penguin and fish... And some of the cages is a bit smelly but I understand its zoo. The maps shows that theres kangaroos inside but sadly its not! We went there and it was a good weather and most of the animal having their nap 🤣 theres no water dispenser there, you might need to bring yourself a water there.
Probably one of the nicest zoo in Southeast Asia. Clean, luscious trees, well-fed animals and best part is they have a Panda conservatory!. Ticket is quite pricey though for foreigners: RM 88 on weekday.
All is good and enjoy the visit there. All animals also look healthy. Just one disappointing place is the aquarium. Can feel the keepers are doing their best to maintain those few fishes left but overall seems no funding is given to the part and those posters, decors etc were from like more than 2 or 3 decades ago. Really hope zoo negara can invest a bit on the aquarium too.Bought ticket online was cheaper than buy from counter, many ways to pay include Grab Pay with Grab points. Bravo! And much cheaper for senior citizens.
Its a good place for children to in touch and learn acknowledged on wild animals, but it has been a long time never repair and refurbish all facilities in the zoo. Some grille and railing are rusted when you touch on it will harm your hands, so hopefully the management will take action to solve this issue.
A great place to spent the weekend with family. Bought tickets online and very easy to redeem from the counter 6. To be advise, it is better to take the morning tour as we took half a day to explore the zoo. Got an 11am animals showcase too. Please bring an umbrella (if it is convenient for youor wear a hat, bring water and snacks to munch along the way as it will be exhausting to walk in the zoo. But be sure to bring the rubbish with you if you cannot find the nearest trash bin. It was fun and definitely recommended for family.
The National Zoo of Malaysia (Zoo Negarais worth the visit!Over 45 hectares with hundreds of different species. Most of the animals are given large, open spaces and seem to be in good health, which is a pleasure to see.The Giant Panda Conservatory is impressive and included as part of the entry ticket.I loved the open pasture with giraffes, ostriches, antelopes, onyxes and even rhinoceroses all mingling together. And the adorable family of capybaras!Recommend arriving early as some exhibits end a few hours before closing time, and it will take at least 3 hours to see everything. The animal enclosure map at the entrance is not always up to date and could be different. Some dining areas may be shut.A paid open shuttle is available for faster travel around all the enclosures, or, like us, you can choose to walk around at your own leisure.
The area is so big, you need to come in the morning to finish looking around. I would suggest the zoo to add accomodations like bicycles so its easier to move around. Gate B is not open at the time I visited but there is no notice stated, thus wasted my energy to walk there just to head back to the main gate. A great place for toddlers and people who love animals and tranquility.
There are some really nice animals and exhibits at Zoo Negara. First time back after many years and happy that the place is generally clean and animals look generally well looked after. We met some great zoo keepers who had great stories and facts like the storks who roam freely in the zoo and return every May and June to lay their eggs in the trees in the middle of the lake near the entrance. The other was the panda centre with one daddy panda (Fu Wa), one mummy panda (Feng Yi), and two children (Yi Yi and Anak PKP aka Adik). Great to be able to interact with the staff - do take the time to ask questions and engage with them!Food is so so (temper your expectationsbut places were mostly clean and some restaurants were air conditioner which made for a nice respite from the heat and humidity. We didnt take the tram so cant comment on that but we had a good time overall.Recommended to book tickets online (we used Klookand to be there either early in the morning (so its not so hot and you can watch animals being fedor later in the evening as some animals are more active in the evenings.
Bought the tickets online through klook. Hassle free, just go straight to the counter to get your tags. Very large map, takes about 3 hours to conquer the map. Overall good place to bring your kids during the weekend. 👍👍👍👍
What nature has provided is truly amazing. The zoo probably was amazing once upon a time when it was first opened 50 years ago. It seems there was no maintenance or upgrade since then though.Very sad state for some of the animals as they looked famished. The zoo was very dirty and it was really surprising to see the plastics and trash in the waters around too.A much needed face lift for this historic landmark.
First note, buy the online ticket the day before or you might end up queueing for a ticket which takes around 20-30 mins. We came in using entrance B, but if you want to join the zoo ride or get the wheelchair service, do park at entrance A. The zoo is quite big and equipped with proper signage, so you wont get lost. They have performances at 11am and 3pm, I missed it, as I was busy checking other animals. So far, everything seems okay and well maintained. I wish to upgrade and have sea creatures next time.
First time visiting here.Zoo is poorly maintained, cant blame them due to Covid pandemic.Going here to support local national zoo.Kids have a great fun time here.Parking RM10 per entry.Bring your own bottle of water as you will need it.No inspection on food and drinks upon entering.
Bought tickets from Klook. Definitely cheaper than at the counter. Lots of places they didnt take care properly. Only bought french fries and waffle. French fries not recommended. But waffle is okay. Managed to see show at 3pm. The show only got 2 (12.30pm & 3pmits very hot so recommend to bring umbrella or hat or fan 🤣
I visited there during my birthday promotion period so it was free. Overall, I think only the Panda worth visiting and the multi-animal show is interesting. Other animals are not active at all and the water (rivers, drains and aquariumis dirty. Many cages are also empty. One thing I would like to advise you all is to order A la carte, not meal sets in "The Wild Restaurant". As I dont drink soft drinks, 2-3 a la carte are cheaper than the sets. You can try calculating it if you get there, but still recommend this restaurant as it is air conditioned and there are fewer people.
Came here on a weekday 9am sharp. Best zoo experience ever. No crowd and it was very peaceful. Animals were eating and walking round since it wasnt too hot.Walk 3/4 of the zoo and reached the animal show at 11am sharp. Continue walking and finish the zoo visit before lunch time. Great experience and definitely worth the price.
This is the first Zoo in Malaysia since 1963, it’s a great place for you to explore the nature in the city. If you are driving, you are required to paid for RM 10 and the fees to enter the Zoo is at RM 45. The areas is quite big and you can just take your time and walk around while enjoying the nature.
It’s my first time in my life that I went here. The car park is plain but it’s understandable. As I walk in , the reception counter welcome us well. They are friendly but talk way to much amongst themselves. My advise is to pay more attention to visitors and welcoming them with high energy. 🗣Stepped in and I felt like I was in the Jurassic world as i keep walking. The tress are well nurtured and so as the hygiene. Smell of the mini forest is amazing. 🍃They have fantastic choices of animals(should have moreand well kept 🧼.I felt like there can be improvements in putting background music to provide more in- experience atmosphere. 🌲 🎶The Panda is really good.love the temperature control and air filtering.😌🐼I do suggest to have more animal trainers so they can share more about the animals and do some demo to keep the animal active. Most are feeling uninspired and sleepy 😴All in, great visit and I would recommend others to visit. 👍👍
- Get my tickets from klook and it is easy to redeem.- Best to reach there as early as you can because it will take almost 5 hours if you plan to explore every part of the zoo- If the main entrance car park is full, they will direct you to park at the second entrance.- Wide variety of animals and most of them are in healthy and good condition. Although I feel like some facilities for the animals need to be improved.- Theres a petting zoo for your kids to enjoy.- Various food stalls available but they still close the dining area. But you can take a rest and enjoy your food and drink at the benches available (there were plenty of it).- Facilities for the visitors were okay but definitely can be improved and maintained.
Very beautiful experience there, had fun with my kid. Place was clean and beautiful. Had a great time walking there, place was a little hot in the afternoon, but not too bad, bring an umbrella of the day is too hot. Animals were well taken care of, the latest attraction was the reptile house, we had the chance to hold snake and tortoises. Beautiful new addition to the zoo. Overall very nice experience. We Used klook for discount for entrance fee.
Free entry on birthday month. Great place for kids, clean and comfortable. Saw live panda with free entry, worth it! They have 2 animal shows per day, visit panda during lunch time so can see they are actively eating
This was our second visit, first was many years back (were not impressed back thenbut this time we were pleasantly surprised! Most of the animals looked healthy except for the bunnies. We came on a weekend morning and the counter to claim online ticket was very quick. They also seem to make an effort to make the zoo stroller/wheelchair friendly which is a rare thing in Malaysia, so kudos to Zoo Negara for this. Some tips, do put on mosquito repellent and wear a cap/hat as it can get pretty hot and sunny. Also get tickets from Klook, its less expensive than published rates.
A great place for family outing. Animals are well kept. Place is clean and easy to move around. Panda conservation is a nice attraction. Dont missed the animal show. Check their schedule.Family package is recommended for small family and savings.
Recommended to buy tickets online (cheaper & got discounts). There are many eateries and souvenir shops available. Animal shows are at 11am & 3pm. If you want to see the animals up close and personal, need not to buy tram ticket.
Most of the animals are in the cage couldn’t really be happy especially otter 🦦 cage’s condition is full of dirty water but for those animals who are not in the cage but big spaces for them are really nice for them to walk around. However, the animal show is excellent and is a must to watch! Panda 🐼 shelter’s condition is really good compared to the other animal lol so I hope the animal can be concerned by the management 😭
Enjoyable experience with toddlers. Animals were well taken care of. I love the open area for the giraffes, zebras and ostrich.Open as early as 9am. If you come early, you should start with tigers, lions and pandas area instead of going the other way to prevent crowd. We started the wrong way so by the time we arrived at panda area it was already so crowded. We came on our birthday month so we enjoyed the free tickets offered.Drawback is no restaurant with decent food inside the zoo. Out toddlers already wanted to eat lunch at noon but we hadn’t covered everything yet. Only corns and waffles available for the empty stomach. I wish there were more options since the place is very big and we need at least 5-6 hours to cover every animals in this zoo.
Very neat and clean, The National Zoo of Malaysia. For RM 50 for a student or international worker with a valid permit, one can see the seagull show, the Panda Center and all the other animals the Zoo has to offer. One must go at 9 am in the morning and spend the whole day there in order to take the maximum advantage of ones money.
I was pleasantly surprised by how well maintained the zoo was and how healthy the animals looked, as i have heard otherwise in the past. Highlights for me were the panda conservatory, tapirs & big cats. Dissapointed by how aggressively they pushes for photos and sold them at exorbitant prices.
Clean and nicely kept zoo. There isnt much people during weekday. Good thing is most of the animals are now adopted by corporates so at least they are well fed. Great place to bring my kids. It has decent walk ways, well grown trees that gives a nice shades and happy animals that like rooming around to meet people.
My baby loves it. As long as she enjoys it, we are happy. Hoping they will continue to take care of the animals not just for a show but as part of the eco system. Please visit corinthsamantha.weebly.com
I love My country, Malaysia. I hope the Zoo Negara management read this feedback.I visited on 1 Jan 2022. Cost around RM90 after 20% discount for 2 adults and 1 kid.It was a total disappointed experience ever compared to previous visit.- the toilet at the entrance is so dirty and disgusting.- the maintenance of the zoo is bad. Can see the dirt, algae mud even death fishes can be seen at the aquarium.Zoo Negara shall be an iconic landmark as other countries.Hope government takes note or any business can assist to improve the Malaysias image.
Its huge and have many types of animals such as lion 🦁, tiger 🐅, rhinoceros 🦏, crocodile 🐊, monkey 🐒, bird 🐦, snake, 🐼 panda, ape, wallaby, 🦌 deer, porcupine and etc. There are food and drinks stalls and public restrooms. Parking is RM10 per entry. The zoo condition is well maintained. Kids will be excited to be here. Overall, its a wonderful trip for a family.
