Unpretentious hangout offering craft cocktails, a variety of live music & a large patio area.
UPDATE: ZODIAC IS NOW "FRITZYS"- look it up on Google maps (may come up as Fritzys Speakeasy). Same crew+ is here underground. Renovations opened/spiced the place up. New, dope atmosphere and space! Different events/themes every night.
Decent open mic night on Mondays, karaoke on Wednesdays!
I love coming here. Ive been attending events at the Zodiac for almost 3 years now and even participated in a fashion show. Its a comfortable venue. Good vibes. The staff are friendly and attentive. Drinks are well made. They have 18+ nights and mostly 21+. They have different themed nights, weekly nights (like Tuesdays are goth night, and they have a Secret Dance Party on Sunday nightsand several events a month.
Great welcoming staff. A place for everyone. Open mic nights, goth nights, drag shows, burlesque shows, Karaoke, even kids Karaoke, hula jams, themed nights like twin peaks, Tim Burton, movies, and so much more.
I absolutely love this place they treat me like family and I couldn’t ask for a more genuine environment with really amazing staff!! The fire performers are amazing to!
This is the best bar in town if you love unique and unusual characters and creative people. I miss the former incarnation from years back, however this is a everyone is welcome fringe culture bar. If you want to meet great bartenders and patrons and celebrate the unusual this is your place.
Best place in the springs. Check out the Green Line Grill next door for some great burgers(I get the bacon chicken sandwich)to go with your drinks! The bartenders have a talent for knowing what you need and there is always something delightful going on!
The first Saturday of the month they do kids karaoke from 2 p to 5p. They let us do a birthday party and bring our own food. It was a really fun time.
Great drinks, nice staff, hot eventsWhat more can ya want?Monday nights, are the best time to drop on by for a bit-o-Open mic night!
Absolutely the best bar/club/venue of all varieties. The owner/ bartender Gental is AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL TO KNOW AND OBVIOUSLY TO LOOK AT. She is one beauty not to be missed. ...Oscar
Great people and good prices. Laid back folks and sociable. Large outside patio seating. Great that you can order food from next door and they will deliver
Badass alternative bar! Disco nights on Sundays, burlesque once a month, live music. Super rad place to chill, make friends, and just be yourself. No judgement there, what-so-ever!
Super neat in here! I especially love the interior decor (very gothic), the drinks are reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly. They have events nearly every night of the week so youre bound to find something fun to do.
Great place! Bartenders are really nice, prices are good, patrons are fun and friendly. When I am in Colorado Springs I always make sure to swing by!
Very cool open mike night. Comedy, solo guitar, bands. Great sound system and good setup in between sets
Zodiac is one of the coolest bars for those on the alternative side of life. Great music from local bands or the DJ, friendly staff, imaginative and interesting events. Zodiac is a great place for those looking for something other than the standard bar experience
This place was interesting. I stopped in for the open mic while passing through c springs and there was alot of comedy. And I couldnt tell at first because Im an out of towner but everyone was super cool here. And it seemed to be an real locals joint. I cant remember her name but the host was so friendly and had the coolest announcing voice. Bar tender was kind also I overheard it was his last night so maybe people were out to support that as well. Someone told me open mic performers get a free beer but i didnt get one.. but that wouldnt stop me from coming back it has a cool interior and its own little vibe amongst the locals check it out!
Love the atmosphere. Went for their Sunday night movie. Great quality for a projector. Bartender was nice. More people should go to movie night. Wish they did that where I live.
Only been there once and saw some really cool bands and the bartender Dave is awesome. Used to work at Deweys and just all around nice guy which makes for an even more cool bar.
Always a great time. Peaks and pasties is a great burlesque show, and the zodiac matches them very well. Movie nights are fun, and there is always someone interesting to chat with.
I’ve never had bad time at the Zodiac. Best bar in town! Live music, theatre, karaoke, variety acts, and all the best quirky, fun people. It’s also located right next to a grill that makes some incredible late night food that can be delivered to the bar. Its got a great local vibe. A total gem to the Springs.
Nice bar. Couldnt really go full experience on it because we went there for a murder puppet show. Which was a little bit strange. besides that has a good little neighborhood pub feel and the bartenders were very nice and prompt.
A friend and I stumbled into this bar on a Saturday and were unsure at first but we stayed to watch the show and it was great! They are accepting and funny. We had a really drunk man sit next to us and the employees noticed how uncomfortable we were and asked us if we were ok! We were so glad they noticed and checked on us!
Great small venue for bands. Bar is tiny, though, if a packed house... maybe about 8 seats? Went to see Monsters of Mock show. Had to wait in line about 20 mins at one end of bar, with about 15 people each time, to order a drink. Various folks were cutting line, passing monies to friends = tough to get served. Also tough to pay when bartenders had to scan 50ish credit cards spread out near register. Better ordering/paying system needed for crowded nights.
Always have a good time at the Zodiac, kids karaoke is a good time for the kids and parents who get to hang out and maybe have a drink. The service is always friendly and great from the bar.
Its a.......well.... alternative lifestyle bar. But, getting that out of the way, it was a good time. The customers were friendly as was the staff. It was pretty slow for a Saturday night. However, although Im not into the alternative lifestyle, Ill go back because the people that were there were so much fun that my friends and I had a blast!
Unpretentious is a good description.Really good energy, friendly people, dark but not drab.I generally dislike bars, but came here for a presentation and it didnt take me long to decide Id like to come back. The bar staff is truly top notch, as well.Would recommend, even if you dont care for alcohol--just for the ambience alone.(But, yknow, buy a soda or something at, least. Support your local pub.)
Went to open mic night it was fun not a lot of people though. Drinks were tasty and fair price. Restaurant next door open late night too so you can sober up.
Great bartender! I was there on Ladys night, so that was good for the pocketbook. Looking forward to seeing some stand-up comedy there on Monday night!
If youre trying to find somewhere not scattered with Cowboys and drunk military personnel then Id highly suggest here the crowd is so diverse from day to day and every day of the week they have some pretty fun themes! From goth night to karaoke to hosting the Peaks and pasties girls for burlesque it seems like there is always something interesting going on at this hole in the wall!
This place is an amazing venue to watch Peaks and Pasties Burlesque! The grill next door delivers to your seat in the bar (great food too). Never hard to get a drink and every seat has a good view of the stage. Can’t wait to come back!
This venue is a little niche but great if you are looking for friendly bar staff and excellent people watching opportunities. They are quite eclectic offering open mic with music and standup as well as goth night. Memories will be made.
This place is a bit of a hole in the wall at first glance but have a mysterious vibe to it, the bartender that looks like a lumber jack pours his drinks generously and everyone at the bar was friendly and supportive of the horrible shows at open Mic night. All in all, it was a good time. I didnt ever feel uncomfortable or like I wasnt welcome.
Zodiac has good bands that roll through quite frequently. The venue is small but the people there are very friendly. If youre looking to throw some darts shoot some pool while having a beer this is not the place to go.
Best venue in town. If you want to see an amazing burlesque show this is the place to be...bar staff is amazing....drink specials...events every day of the week.
I honestly cant believe I havent reviewed this place yet. Fabulous open mic, great music, great staff. We played some music at an open mic and were contacted by Andrea to open for some traveling bands, which were all incredible performers! I also love the Thursday Karaoke and Ive been meaning to visit during free movie night as the selection has been pretty great. I dont drink alcohol these days, but its still a great hangout and I like bringing in friends and making new ones.
This place has a great theme, awesome environment, and fair pricing. Love to hear live music with good stage focus. They have some coach siting, tables and bar chairs, a relaxing decor, and a nice back patio (smokingarea.
Tuesday night is a solid night of goth music with djs that know their stuff. Bartenders are super friendly and are great at concocting drinks on the spot if you ask! The Tuesday night crowd is very welcoming! Made a bunch of new friends very quickly! Only had a couple of negative interactions with patrons there, and they were addressed by staff and other patrons very quickly.
Place was fairly clean, music was good and the drinks were tasty. I could have done with a bit better variety of drink options, (three things I asked for were unavailableand the mens room was a bit cramped. Entertainment was on-point, and is the primary draw of the venue; there appears to be a good variety of different shows and performances most nights of the week, and despite not being a big one for the bar scene, I find myself tempted to go back just to check out some of the other acts. Will definitely be keeping an eye out in the future, and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for Colorado Springs nightlife.
I enjoy coming to this place for their creative and offbeat events. I always enjoy myself here and feel comfortable here. They often have great drink specials and are easy on the wallet.
Great Bar and venue. Had an awesome time at the 2017 Screamy Awards for HELLSCREAM and Sinister
Great place! Local music, amazing people and a variety of different events. Small enough to be cozy big enough to have fun. No matter what youll always feel welcomed.
This place supports local artist and musicians! In addition to that; the patrons and bartenders are friendly, the shows are epic, and the vibe is great. The little patio out back is wonderful to hang out and smoke or just enjoy nice weather. Really wonderful place!
Great place for a variety of shows, performances, and events. Staff and owners are awesome. The people who hang out here are eclectic and friendly. Not your average bar!
Went to the open mic on monday nights last night and despite my thinking my genre of music wouldnt be well recieved, I was completely wrong. Everyone is very welcoming and I got standing ovation with some of the loudest applause all night . Had a great time !
Theres something for everyone here!! Thats the main reason I luv this place. Always a good time, inexpensive booze, fantastic happy hour, beautiful people and always some kind of event going on. I definitely suggest following their Facebook page to keep up to date with all the happenings!
Between good drinks , the best open mic in town, great live shows, karaoke (even kids karaoke during the day once a month!), & some of the best people on staff!!! This place I my absolute favorite!!!
I love how they have tea here! Oh and I love being here too! So many things to do with interesting shows and events! Meet a lot of cool folks here. I highly recommend since they have my favorite stout and tea.
Loses one star for facilities and services. Second for an excessive amount of dong that seems to be on the TV when Im there. Third lost star is that there isnt much else to do in the immediate area compared to the Tejon strip. Other than that it is an outstanding 2 star bar. Would highly recommend for people who dont like big crowds who are looking for a unique scene (check out their Facebook for events). Would NOT recommend for anyone who is looking for a big night out, or those with a refined taste for mainstream, the Tejon strip is good for that.
Went there for open mic night. They had poetry, stand up comedy and live music. It was pretty amazing for just an open mic night. We ordered food from right next door and they bring it to you, awesome! The drinks were reasonably priced and I had a good time!
