Italian chain restaurant for pizza and calzone on wooden boards, plus traditional pastas.
03/03/19Hmmmm this one is interesting .So i check online to see what time the restaurant opens and it said 11.30 , we arrived at 11.30 and went inside to be shouted at from the other side of the resturant by the chef “ we are closed , we open at 12” i calmly walked out and waited till 12 . Thought nothing of it . Came in at 12 , food was nice / good 👍. Staff / server did get a few things wrong as i believe her english wasn’t that good . Throughout my experience one thing i noticed was the grumpy look on the chefs face when we would look /stare at me which made the experience uncomfortable to say the least . Top it of waitress tells me theres no offer vouchers (25% off 😉, see website to get it accepted on Sundays and the terms of conditions which i had to read out to staff “ use all day Sunday “ means yes i can . manager then explained to waitress and all was sorted from there . Due to staffs lack of understanding and poor manners i would not be recommending this branch even though the food was good . Whats the point if the food is good if you don’t put what i want infront of me or if you scrunch your face at me while i eat , for something that i wasn’t even at fault for . If you say you open at 11.30 , don’t be shocked if people try walk through your door at that time . Common sense . 3 stars for the good food .
It was good experience but require little more efforts!
From the entrance, we were greeted and seated in an appropriate manner, the menu were presented appropriate, bonus points for having an all inclusive menu of allergies. The drinks were delicious but the restaurant didnt had straws. The waiter has delivered the service very well. The food has been cooked very good as well. Thank you for accommodating my allergies to garlic and onions. The only things that drag this place down are menus, decor, and table size. The menus can be more stylish and personalized same with the panels from the walls, colours could blend better and tables be more spacious.
Well worth considering for lunch if in central Ipswich.
Good quality food. Service great. Only issue was the knives and pizza cutters needed to be a little bit sharper.. apart from this brilliant.
Great service and food. Lovely atmosphere. Would return again (had never been before!)
As always it is a lovely restaurant with wonderful staff. The manager is extremely friendly and polite and always welcoming!
Four stars due to the noise in the establishment. This was during the Christmas period and its inevitable that a Christmas party will happen. However it does become quite tedious when you have to shout to talk to people. The food was lovely, cooked well with decent flavour. The staff were fantastic and very hospitable even with the rowdy Christmas party goers.Definitely a must if you are taking someone on a date.
Very tasty prepare and not expensive. Awnting and friendly staff !! We have been happy with my friends. As a person and a meeting of the service and fine service
Really enjoyed the food here. It was good value but there vegan options are a vit more limited
Me and my boyfriend love zizzi in Ipswich! Amazing food and lovely staff!
Been a few times now, good range on the menu with prices to fit any budget, including via prepaid vouchers etc. Food has been good every time and staff very friendly, looking forward to next trip.
This restaurant was easy to find on the high street in a beautiful venue. It was a gloriously hot day so the whole front of the restaurant was open which was lovely. It was a very busy Sunday and only the downstairs was open which meant people were turned away, which must have been disappointing for them.We had pre booked so were seated promptly. The waiting staff were well dressed and very polite. Our food arrived promptly after ordering and was lovely. The gluten free options were great. We were given an ice cold jug of water which was perfect in the 30 degree heat!Genuinely a lovely restaurant with great food and a relaxing atmosphere.
Superb, staff were so helpful especially when you have 2 children under 5 with you. My wife had pepperoni pizza. My son had his favourite spaghetti bolognese, my daughter had what she could get her hands on namely my pork belly. Whilst this was tasty, could have done with a bit less sage IMO, the mash was delicious as were the accompaniment of green leafy vegetables, with a slight red wine sauce. For me the crowning glory was the desert of tiramisu.. the portion was so much that i had to take it home in a lovely biodegradable box (go the sustainably pieceall washed down with my favourite Peroni gran reiserva. Mmm.
Staff very good and attentive. Sorry salmon nit available ad I had been looking forward to it. Had garlic prawns but they had hardly any taste of garlic. All my siblings and their partners had dinner with us and there were no complaints. Will come again next time I visit from Australia just to try the salmon.
Food was great, friendly staff, but gets a little bit noisy at busy times
Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Food was tasty and arrived quickly.
Good food, in a relaxed atmosphere, nice friendly staff.
Everything was good. My meal - Nduja garlic bread and a rustica piccante pizza - was very enjoyable. My partner, who is vegan, ordered the vegan bruschetta and spaghetti pomodoro. Unfortunately the spaghetti arrived with a generous helping of, very much NOT vegan, mozzarella cheese on top. This meant the meal had to be thrown away and re-made.Aside from that the staff were efficient and friendly and the restaurant was clean and quiet.
Come here yesterday for lunch and service was great and the waitress was brilliant. I had the fonduta formaggi to start it was lovely then had the Beef brisket & venison tagliatelle and this was pretty disappointing not much meat or flavour and the pasta was over cooked. To finish I had the salted caramel brownie and this had to be one off the best desserts I have had in years the brownie was gooey with salted caramel in the middle. So overall was a lovely meal out would off gave 5 stars if it wasn’t for the poor quality of the main meal.
Very friendly staff, relatively cheap, but awesome food, and very convenient as well, there is a parking lot just a minute away! Would recommend for anybody to just stop by and enjoy a nice atmosphere. 11/10
If I could rate 10 stars, I would do it! The best food, the best and gently staff. We were so happy to have a dinner here after the long trip!
Lovely food. Good service. They are always happy to customise any dish to suit likes/dislikes/dietary requirements. Laney.
Impolite staff who are too busy on their phones. The food is tasty but only worth it if you have a discount code as the service doesnt make up for it.
Excellent service but the food wasnt as good as usual. Soul breads were way too salty and dont bother with the Ruby cheesecake unless you like a mouthful of pink sugary tasteless goo covered in cheap cooking chocolate! - its pink for no reason - does t taste of strawberry or raspberry as youd expect.!
Couldnt fault the customer service. Wonderful food, that we didnt have to wait long for. Great atmosphere
A very wet, windy Sunday afternoon after watching a film at the cinema what better than a visit to Zizzi an Italian meal and we were not disappointed. We both left very satisfied, full and pleased with the staffs professionalism, although not cheap we were more that happy with the value for money. Would definitely consider going back soon.
Really great food and very customer friendly staff. Not too great a variety of drinks offered though. Their food menu keeps getting improvised is that Ive noticed.
Great place, excellent food, great service, well presented and with a good selection of both food and drink. Its a little more expensive than some of the restaurants in town, but is definately worth it. Consistently, theyre great every time.
Zizzi Ipswich has great service, friendly and helpful staff, and an always consistently good standard of food on every visit there. Its a nice place for a meal for two or family dining
Quick serving, food was delicious. Plenty of parmesan cheese which is always great. Went with a large group for a graduation celebration, was enjoyable and would recommend. Lots of vegan options.
Great for vegan options, the staff are always amazing. Service has always been quick and Ive never had an issue with the food. Really good for family meals and its usually pretty easy to find a discount code to help cover large bills. Family friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Dont go early. Brown haired waitress behind the bar was incredibly rude. We arrived at 11.50 this morning and simply asked what time they were open to be snapped at from across the restaurant and told to come back at 12.
I used to highly rate Zizzi Ipswich, but in the last year or so it has changed. Their menu has presented less choice as time went by and the food hasnt been as fantastic as it used to be.I cant deny that the service is still great, but the food is a little bit of a let down.I once rated them as the best pizzeria in Ipswich, but no longer feel this way.
Top service that stands out from any other Zizzi or related restaurants, all credit to our waiter Luis which goes above and beyond to make your visit the best possible. Someone give this team member a Pay-rise!
Lovely food, great family meals and date nights had too. Caters for all. Good prices too. We used our Tesco vouchers which helped.
Excellent quality food, served by very kind and friendly staff who made my girlfriend and I feel very confident and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal!
Fantastic food at good prices. Excellent service and prompt food
Good food but they need another waiting staff, very slow service
The staff here are always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and there is never a rushed feel which Ive had at some places in the past. I come here regularly to eat from the vegan menu (other restaurants take note!), and the food is great! Theyve really nailed their vegan options, and set the level that other restaurants should now try to reach for!
Friendly helpful staff. Food tasted great and they accommodated are increase in party size well. Would eat here again but probably just for smaller more intimate dinners.
Table for two at lunchtime on a Saturday. We were served very quickly and efficiently by a polite waitress and served drinks whilst choosing our food. When the food was served, we were offered fresh parmesan grated over our food. The beef and venison pasta was rich and tasty, but the mushroom risotto was a little lacking in flavour.Desert was a chocolate and caramel brownie, topped with large chocolate shavings and accompanied by ice cream and melted chocolate. This was the star of the show and was worth the calories!
Lovely food and friendly staff, the calamari is anyways exceptionally good!
Good food and service but too echoey for my liking.
Good food but often slow service lets them down. They offer a vegan menu but they had run out of the vegan cheese when we were there, so it must be popular!
Really nice food and service, but we went because there was a voucher that zizzi had put out for free desserts that could be used with 25% off of all food and we had to argue with the manager, she agreed we were right but at the beginning said she couldnt do anything about it. After discussing a bit more she honoured the voucher
Food is good and service is generally excellent. Slow on this visit, but clearly not expecting a busy Monday (Mondays are never busy). Quick and efficient on every other visit. Always enjoy the food
amazing food, friendly fast service and good prices. The place has a great atmosphere and is suitable for all the family, not a bad thing on the menu.
Good, tasty food and great service too. Ive been eating there almost every week for a couple of months. Nice friendly staff, reasonable prices.
Excellent food and lovely decor! Staff were helpful and we got our food and drinks fairly quickly. The only negative point is that they could do with more staff the poor woman waitress was rushed off her feet when it got busy.
