Esplanade for special occasions...always great!

Awful service. They made us feel unwelcome from the time we made a reservation. Seldomly did the wait staff come check on us. After 30 minutes of no service I had to get up and retrieve our water that was placed on a serving table adjacent to us. The food was mediocre. The Adriatic shrimp was comical in serving size and taste. Of the 30 plus meals we have had in Croatia, this falls to the bottom.

Fine Dining. A somewhat limited main course menu, but outstanding service and excellent quality food in a fabulous outdoors environment. We thoroughly enjoyed the someliers recommendation of a lighter red rather than the Dingac we were about to order. Only negative, we waited ages for the bill and ended up walking into reception to pay, which means the staff missed out on the tip!!!

The most pretentious place ever. As i was casual i felt out of place plus the food s overpriced and awful. Sad, sad for all the posers who act like they know what theyr eating. Laughable. Avoud at all cost for real. I t costs a fortune for a small meal.

Excellent restaurant in a very well located hotel.They know very well how to prepare gluten-free dishes without risk of cross contamination.The quality of the food, the way it is presented and the ingredients they use makes of this restaurant an excellent place to eat.

As expected, the food and service was great. I like to try things that have a unique taste, and there are several things on the menu that fit the description.Keep in mind, this is a fine dining restaurant, so I can’t comment on it being a bang-for-buck. In fact, it never really played a role in the review rating.

Had our wedding diner here, and we all enjoyed it to the fullest:the ambiance with the lighting, music and decor, the service and the food.Everything was planned in advance with the event planner of Esplanade, and that made it all run very smoothly.Highly recommended! :)

Fine dining at its best in Zagreb. I was pretty impressed with the beef and the wine collection. Tomislav guided me well with his impeccable taste.

My husband reserved a month in advance for my 50th birthday and they called to cancel just a few hours before, must be a nice place but they are not trustworthy with reservations if they have something better that comes along. If it’s important or special be sure to reserve somewhere else. Very disappointing behavior for such a special event for us.

Such a shame that a so-called first-class restaurant doesnt have a proper booking system. I reserved a table with 20 days in advance and they cancelled the same day with no excuse. They apologized, sure, but just offered me a table in another place that didnt match the expectations at all. What kind of compensation is this? Fortunately, Zagreb has a lot of excellent restaurants certainly less unpredictable.

Good recommendation from Michelin guide. Very delicate and exceptional meat (the lamb). Very good wine recommendation from our waiter. Very satisfied.

Classic dining in a classic hotel. Only had breakfast menu. Service was friendly and accommodating. Dinners looked as wonderful as our breakfast. Is separate from the adjacent hotel bar.

The food was wildly overpriced for what we received, we were here for two hours and the waiter serviced everyone but us for an entire hour. When we asked where our food was after waiting an hour and a half the waiter was extremely rude. Half of our food requests didn’t even come and we didn’t even have the ability to ask again because the waiter would not come over. We paid 30 kuna for one water. Service Abysmal, wildly overpriced, and the food is subpar. DONT COME HERE!!

The worse restaurant in Zagreb, booked a table for 3 ahead , on areival I asked for the tabel andere the lady Just pointed me to the table , waiting for 30 minutes before she came with the menu card then gone for another 30 minutes. bad bad bad, please avoid this place.

This July we travelled to Croatia and we visited up to 20 cities and islands, tried different food, ate in a variety of restaurants, a la carte and street food. But I was shocked and disappointed by our experience at Zinfandel Restaurant in Croatia. Definitely not even close to be in the Michelin guide list.

Attended the Christmas eve dinner which was a fish based menu with 2 entrees and 3 mains, and dessert. Staff was great, very friendly. The food, while perfectly fine and of good quality, lacked something "extra" for the "extra" price of the dinner I think. The dessert was very good though. The price was 81 euro per person, plus wine. Still, it was a good experience.

Went here for my birthday dinner and the food, ambiance and service were all excellent!! We really enjoyed our meal. We had the 6 course tasting menu plus some great Croatian wine!

Disappointing and overpriced for what you get. The mullet main course is barely an entree size. The dishes are not complete, missing vegetables or certain flavours that would make them a complete dish. Duck main and foie gras entree were good but disappointed otherwise. Slow service with food and getting drinks. Kids menu is not varied or healthy but they were flexible enough to make steamed vegetables. Definitely not worth the price you pay, Le Bistro was much better value for money and with better service.

Some courses were great, others below average. I was missing flavour on a lot of them. I had to use slat and pepper a lot of the times. The main course steak had no taste, was dry and hard to cut through. For a € 140 tasting menu youd except a lot more,.

The staff were so kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and not too pricey!

Service and food are worth about 295 kn. Recommend beef tartare 👍

An amazing experience, one of the best meals Ive ever had

It pains me to give 1 star to this renown Michelin restaurant!We must ate there on the day off of the renown chef, we were guests of the Esplanade and thought we would eat dinner at the Zinfandel at least one night out of 5 nights that we stayed there.I ordered the pink shrimps appetizer, there were 2 raw shrimps, heavily salted and no flavor at all, they were beautifully presented on the platter...my husband ordered the Pheasant and it was served mashed to a paste, pretty flavorful but can’t tell if it was pheasant or some sort of meat!For our main course, I ordered the John Dory fish, 2 pieces of fish the size of my thumb, wrapped in lettuce... not very tasty!My husband ordered the Cod, which was salty and chewy!!!We were very disappointed with the food. ButThe service was impeccable, many changes of assorted silverware ... and the waiter was very nice!We wanted to eat at their other restaurant, the Bistro, but afraid to waste our monies there after Zinfandel!!!

This restaurant is inside Esplanade Zagreb, this is also used as breakfast area for Hotel Guest.The place is very elegant. Seats are nicely positioned, the are several seats on the windows side and you have a great view of the outside area.The staff are respectful and responsive. And ordered food are serve in a short waiting time.Aside from the great buffet when you are having breakfast. You can also order from the menu.

I went there and had a great experience. The price you pay for the experience it is worth it. I took the 4th course meal. The beef cheeks and foie gras is a must. The selection of Croatian wine was really good too. The restaurant keeps bringing you new tasty dishes before lunch and after desert. I read some bad reviews about this place, however I didnt get any of that.

A fantastic culinary discovery in Zagreb. Great food and nice venue.

An unseasonal menu that is woefully executed and does not respect its ingredients. At Zinfandels beautiful delicate crab meat is drowned in citrus, sea urchin custard tastes more like butter than uni, truffle weighed down in cream and and vegetables that are overcooked. Dining here felt sad. Service was dismal and haphazard with waitstaff that dont know their own food or wine and stumble to serve. Worth noting however that there is an extensive gluten-free menu here.

I was very disappointed. I planned a special date night for my girlfriend and I after reading a lot about Zinfandels before arriving in Zagreb. The service was excellent, the hotel and interior were beautiful, but the food was so disappointing. I got the duck breast and she got the steak and neither of us had anything good to say about it. Overcooked, unoriginal, nothing exciting about either. The wine was good and the dessert was excellent, but for the price, we could have eaten at Mali, Vinodol, and Mundoaka put together and had 3 amazing meals compared to 1 mediocre meal.
