The experience was so different ...we witnessed a wedding ceremony which was very different from what we usually see in movies ...it was amazing ...The place is very peaceful and very colourful.Its good if you visit the cathedral in evening because then you can enjoy in the park also...Have a safe journey 💓Love love

Wonderful place. I Loved it. Its a place to visit with kids and family and have some family time. The cathedral in s too good. Wonderful prayers in church. Apart for me that the park is very near. And is a really family time spending park. I had a great time. Though I was alone. It has many things to engage kids and keep them playful .Lots of horses, horse carts, cars, remote played cars, trains etc...to say a few.Also is the flowers which make this place more beautiful its full of different coloured tulips .Also the park near where the attractions makes it icing on the cake. Have a family time on weekend with you loved ones . And also give the time for prayers.Amen

Beautiful place outside and inside, it is one of an oldest wood built cathedrals. So many details and has two old fireplaces, it’s so rare. Very quiet and so spiritual. It is hard to explain emotions, just visit it and you will see.

Church was beautiful but we had a nasty experience with an abnoxioux person in the grounds outside who was begging in English then swore at us. This same person we noticed then accosted an elderly couple.

Such beautiful design and architecture. Although the people in there werent very welcoming. Came inside as a visitor and got a lot of glances and angry stares. Im giving this a 3/5 because the design of this cathedral is beautiful and the park outside is nice for a walk

I flew my drone around this magnificent cathedral. Outside. I did not crash into any of the domes, and the drone returned to me. So this was a successful flight.

Resplendent! Glorious! Heart quaking! The inside is just as powerful as the outside. Quiet, serene, and tranquil. #1 thing to see in Almaty. The surrounding park is also nice with amazing statues throughout.

Its a very beautiful orthodox cathedral. Many followers come here to pray. The park outside is also beautiful suitable for a walk and family activities.

A recent renovation was quite timely and added jolly colors to the old cathedral.

Second tallest wooden building in the world. Built without nails.Vibrant colours that match autumn.Contrasting against the Soviet style buildings beautifully.There is an area to sit and admire the architecture colours, the serenity of the park.Did not go inside.

When my mother came out of the church she began to cry. She felt the ambience and holy presence.

Beautifully decorated orthodox church. Quite on par with those in Moscow but smaller in scale. Had the privilege of listening to the choir during service. So heavenly. Also saw artist at work on mural. Appreciate it.

Beautiful cathedral in Almaty located right in the centre of town. It’s a very colourful building that is worth a visit. It’s also close to a lot of other landmarks and restaurants, and there is a tourist information desk right next to it which has a lot of recommendations for things to do.

Nice christian church. Amazing park! You can walk around here and get an ice cream or rent some car for the kids.

It is one of the simpler Orthodox churches youll find but perhaps a reflection that Christians are a minority in Kazakhstan. Supposed to be one of the tallest wooden structures in the world. Well maintained. There is a busy square nearby that rather takes away from the solemnity but otherwise it doesnt seem to harsh on outsiders. We came on a Sunday and witnessed a baptism so that was something new to see. Church shop nearby for trinkets of course.

Historical building left standing after great earthquacke of 1910 when rest of the Almaty city left in rouble. Cathedral been recently renovated and is part of iconic Almaty scenary.

Located in a park...beautifully carved building...you may find many russians visiting it....a must watch place...

Set in the middle of a wooded park this is a beautiful example of what a church should be. This is a place of uplifting happiness exemplified by the use of pastal creams, blues and yellows. Artwork brightly adorns the walls and familiar haloed figures surround the centre space where an imposing candle chandelier is suspended from the ceiling. Smaller in comparison to Westminster Abbey and other western edifices. Restoration work inside at the time of visit.

I truly feel this is one of the most underrated beautiful churches on the planet. The colours, especially in spring/summer, are a feast for the eyes. The construction, impeccable, and impressive given its all wood. A must visit! The surrounding park is also charming.

The old cathedral surrounded by the park is a nice and quiet place (inside). It has long history - built in early years of 20th century. Just under reconstruction - in my opinion it looked better before, more authentic.

Really nice and peaceful Orthodox cathedral in downtown Almaty. The interior and the exterior are beautifully decorated. After visiting the cathedral, be sure to spend some time going around the surrounding park, which is beautiful as well and makes for a very pleasant walk.

Simply awe inspiring. A complete building made without nails!!!

This is, for me, the quintessential orthodox church. It was being lovingly maintained by parishioners while I visited. Theres a curio shop at the entrance that sells iconography, but you need cash. They have some gorgeous stuff. The grounds surrounding it are also spectacular. Highly recommend!
