Zahlan Grotto مغارة الزحلان - Tourist attraction in Tripoli, Lebanon
Loved it nice scenery and you can touch the stalactites and you walk in between them
The place is amazing, and totally worth visiting. However reaching it is extremely difficult, steep roads but amazing beautiful sceneries on the way.The place consists of a restaurant overlooking a beautiful green Valley, a stairs going down which will take you to a rope bridge which will give you a 360 view of the valley, a magical experience not to be missed. The grotto is huge and amazing, well maintained with good lighting, and finally a cable car that will take you up again.Be carefull, if you are not familiar with the area, try to create an offline download of the google map, as the mobile coverage is almost non existing in the area
Very friendly staff, allowing pictures and good lighting
Nice place, the grotto is good maintained better than before. Please organize the entry and exit and number of visitors in one time, add some local guides
It was a nice experience, the grotto is beautiful. However it was very crowded, normal as we went on a Sunday, but the crowd wasnt very well controlled especially considering covid precautions. Theres a train to take you up and down to the grotto, it was getting filled without anyone wearing masks, and there is a nice wooden bridge with a great view, but with a sign clearly indicating max 8 persons, there was no one to control how many were going there and it did not feel very safe and rigid.
Nice grotto to visit when at the north of lebanon.. the story behind it is interesting, especially that the part you can visit is only around 10% of the actual grotto.. which is not yet accessible because of a lack of fundingThe place is nice but it needs a lot of maintenance and more info should be available for the public, since you will not get any info if youre not with a touristic guide.I think this place could me more interesting than jeita grotto with the right amount of funding. There is a cafe at the top of the placeYou can go up using a small train after visitingTake care as the route to the place isnt easy.
The grotto is nice and people responsible for it are friendly, the road is hard and need good brakes 😁👌
Good experience.. i recommend it to be visited
Magnificent underground caverns can be explored on foot, arround 150km away from Beirut, entrance fees 20.000LBP..
Loved this place!!Its a must go if you are heading north
Not too much interesting...a small part of Jeita Grotto.
This cave is set in strata of calcium and dolomites and belongs to the late Jurassic epoch. The cave was formed in two main periods. During the first stage which lasted approximately ninety to a hundred and twenty millions years, the land was under the sea. And it was during a period of approximately ninety to a hundred and twenty million years during the early cretaceous when Lebanon rose above the sea surface for thirty million years during parts of the cave were subject to alteration and smelting.
Amazing place😍
Very interesting place with a lot of activities and natural views 😁
Zahlan Grotto is a nice place to visit once, it is not so known. All in all the place is great, especially the bridge and the grotto. It is a nice experience to take a photo on the bridge and then walk inside the big grotto. it is not to big, but still a long road for a 5 minute walk.
All in all the place is great, especially the bridge. It is a great experience to walk on a bridge like this one, and see the forest and river down.
Very nice place with amazing views. The grotto itself wasn’t that fabulous I’d say as there is not much lighting so it was bit scary, we saw some bats on our way in.
Great natural cave
Amazing site , just needs more attention to details and more family friendly facilities
Very nice natural place; it shows the historical value of the planet earth
Good grotto, there is a bridge outside, and the view from the bridge is awsome. It will cost 10000lbp around 6.6 $ and free for kids. But they are not honest this is the only bad thing on my visit because there is a sign that outside it is a free parking but when you are leaving, the staff in the parking come to me and asking me to pay 2000 lbp arround 1.5$. It is.not about the amount that they are not honest wirh visitors, they can remove the sign that parking are free and then they can charge you the parking fees.
Its a very nice can e. Its not huge but its also not tiny. There is a hanging bridge that is not complete as well as a small "train" thing that brings you back up
Very very beautiful and bigger than jeita grotto love it
Great cave to visit to appreciate nature. Were given a discount for our large group. The entrance has a sharp slope which requires a strong car. The kids were amazed. Could use more obvious signs to lead to the place.
Great place to dicover & check how amazing this natural cave is
Amazing view you dont believe it exists in lebanon. Much better than Jeita
It was best trip ever i never new about it before till i google it love it as i called it mini je3ita
it is a beautifull creation of god , but gets easily crowded because of lack of space , very expensive entry.
A surprising Place very similar to Jeiita GrottoVery friendly & Helpfull team. Your visit gives them a push to continue the mission.
Nice but need more organizing.
Nice place to visit, but needs more improvement to become perfect. The potential is there.
Very old grotto they say its a 3000 years old. Not all of it is open to public coz it still under constraction. We had a guided tour inside the grotto she was very nice and had all the answers for the kidss questions. The locals says it was only the effort of the young people of the village and without any govermantel help thats why the satelments were a little bit humble and the grottos only reputation and advertisment is from mouth to ear. People goes they cuz some for thier friends heard about it or went there. Thats a shame . A special place like this only built or organised by young poor people.
Beautiful Grotto, very interesting
A very interesting place, the restaurant is good and the flying bridge is a nice experience and the grotto is breathtaking, though not huge. And thr most interesting part is thatit is all done and restored by personal initiatives, not governmental. Courage
People responsible for the place have no problem allowing people to br ak the law and smoke INSIDE the grotto
The cave is beautiful and the view from the bridge is breathless
Beautiful views of mountains but needs upkeep
Beautiful!! Walked deep into the cave for nearly 10 minutes! Although the lights did go out..but we laughed it off and used our phone lights
⭐⭐⭐⭐ for beauty and location⭐⭐ for ticket price: compared to what is offered (around 500meters open for now, and services like wooden bridge and teleferique are still under construction), all u get is a small train tride so u dont take the long stairs up.⭐⭐⭐ for customer care, some staff guys were playing cards and didnt follow us to be our guide⭐⭐ for maintenance: writings on the rocks, and electricity went out for 3-5 minutesSORRY for too much honesty, but i felt ripped off 😞
The view and tour was amazing although its smaller compared to grotto cave but I loved it
Beautiful u can take pictures
Not as great as Jeita, but compared to the funding it has great potential to be better. The location to the grotto wasnt as difficult even though roads were tight at times. Very well organised for a tourist attraction that isnt funded by the ministry of tourism. Plans for a téléférique and restaurant are in place which will attract more tourists and help expand the economy in North Lebanon. The grotto itself was also untouched keeping it all natural. A must visit for all!
A natural grotto withing a green valley. Grotto floor is flattened for pedestrians together with steps. Quite an interesting scenic route leads to a dead end in the grotto, where a locked cage door prevents further advance. Good lighting inside. An unfinished suspended pedestrain bridge stops in mid-air and only 8 persons can walk on it at one time. Nice spot for photographs. Theres a restaurant within the complex. Steps take visitors to the grotto; then a steep electrical cart brings 8 person up (was not functioning on our visit.Theres a high tower with unfinished/unsafe interior to go up and take some photos. Small vans provide to and fro trips as big busses cannot make it to the Grotto spot, and this road needs serious care.
Beautiful unknown cave, 1km is open to the public although it goes many more kilometers inside. A pedestrian bridge is being built over the valley, looking forward to seeing it finished!
Very beautiful place but it has a very going down road a bus can go down but while going up he will find some hardness a polman cant go down. And it is very beautiful
Good place for tourism and exploration with nice nature and large river especially you can access it with a quite small train upon down feeling lovely and clean place with cheap ticket prices l walk inside the Zahlen lower temperature with stalactites and stalagmites and affordable lighting to move up too hundreds meters cool place heres some photos
Its a good idea to go for a visit, its a big all natural grotto but the open place for visitors is small, the good thing is that photo shooting is allowed there
Very nice place, the grotto, the natural beauty around, the bridge..The hotel and the chubby houses under construction around seems to be a very nice project that can attract lots of tourists very benefic for the developpement of the region.
A nice beautiful cave in high mountains. See underground earth with stunning beautiful landscape overseeing and massive valley.
Very nice experience going inside the cave. Liked it
