I absolutely love this Zoo. You forget that you are in central London as it is so serene. The animals are so happy and healthy and the staff couldnt be more helpful. They are great to talk too and always engage with guests.I love that education and welfare are a top priority and I love all the animals there. I cant wait to go back.

Lovely zoo and beautiful animalsHowever if you have ever been to the Singapore Zoo, I would suggest you to skip thisIt’s nothing compared to it.However, if you have kids or too much time to spare , it’s a lovely place to visit. However I think all of the animal enclosures are too small. My favourite was the Tiny Giants exhibit showcasing the ants, beetles and etcLots of toiletsWheelchair was available for rentalClosest tube was Camden Town station hence I recommend after the Zoo, you head to Camden market for dinner and then take the tube homePerfect day out

The zoo was great, there was a few new enclosures being built. It seemed maybe the enclosures where cramped for some animals however it was a good time. It took 3 of us 2 hours in all to see everything not including stopping. It had areas themed and decorated accordingly. Id recommend this zoo for sure.

What an amazing day! The zoo keepers and volunteers are so friendly and knowledgeable. The care given to these beautiful animals is impeccable. I know a lot of people do not agree with animals in cages, however the work done and love for these animals is second to none. I will continue to support London Zoo. What they do is important. I cant wait to come back again. Thank you ZSL! 😊

An incredible zoo. So well presented, with a huge range of animals - all in superb, large habitats. Just wow! The 3 tiger cubs were the highlight today, but loved the Penguin beach, Lion area and the awesome gorillas.

An absolute jewel for London. Not only the access to animals, but also for the important work they do for conservation. Its great to see the facilities are being expanded, which is even better for the animals. I did like there were artifacts of older exhibits, so you can see the changing face of the zoo. Its not a place for people just to gawk at exotic animals, but a place for the conservation of critically endangered species.Highly recommended for families.

What a beautiful day to spend in this fabulous zoo. Every space is well thought and puts you in a special ambiance. There are so many species to discover and enjoy to see very closely, what a great idea. We can see that the zoo is well taken care of and that the animals are not suffering from very small spaces unlike other zoos. It’s also important to rase that the Zoo is engage in conservation which makes it even more special. True that the entry ticket price is high however it’s really well deserve. One day is needed to visit the park.

Fantastic day out and they do such wonderful conservation work. We never manage to get round everything so Id recommend deciding the animals you most want to see and prioritising. You have to do a lot of walking, and they have ramps everywhere for accessibility.

Thoughts: the zoo has variety of animals distributed over 3 sections, it is important to photograph the zoo map at the entrance in order to see all as it is designed as a maze, also it is important to check the events schedule as the zoo performs many shows with animals at certain times of the day. Food and beverage are available inside.Time: 3.5 hours is enough for full experience especially when wanting to catch an animal showChildren: suitable for children

Ignore the naysayers, this zoo is great. This is a really great time to visit as well, because of the new tiger cubs!! Popping into the tiger talk was worth it alone. Seemed like a good handful of animals are in the process of being moved, but whatever animals are still there, are pretty active. Admission and food is a little pricey, but we were there literally all day and didn’t even get to everything. Try the pepperoni pizza at the Terrace Restaurant!

It was really hot when we visited so the animals were also trying to escape the heat. This meant that we werent able to see many animals. We spent time waiting (in the sunfor the penguin feeding session, which wasnt much of a show. It was funny seeing the seagulls swoop in during feeding time, fighting for food with the penguins. It would have been a more pleasant experience if it wasnt so hot.

Great day out. Plenty to see although a little disappointing that some enclosures have so few animals in that they are incredibly difficult to see and appreciate.Butterfly paradise needs to be larger as its very crowded inside so you cant walk about, just shuffle along.

We travelled by car and found the car park was full by 12noon but we got parking close by— which was less than a 5minute walk. Our overall experience of taking our baby was wonderful. She seemed to enjoy the environment, there was plenty to see lots places to stop and rest comfortably. There were several toilets throughout the park. I would definitely take our baby again!

I liked this place, visited it during the spring time. Interesting information to explore, animals and options to eat as well as spend the whole day. Great nature, park, surroundings and souvenir shop. I spent almost an hour near pinguins watching them swimming as it has great benches to relax nearby. Also I liked 🦜 to observe.I bought tickets online in advance.I was impressed by the journey through different world regions that is in the ZSL London Zoo.Would still like to see animals in better conditions.

Great Great place for everyone and the kids to have fun. Animals, playground, splash area, close ups to so many animals not just from far away. Take your food with you.I would have given it a 5* but the price of a can of water is £££ it’s not right when like today is a hot day and the cans have to be drunk straight away as you cannot close it again!

What a visit! We have been here multiple times, for multiple occasions. It’s slightly quiet during the week but that doesn’t stop it being a beautiful place to visit. I’ve been here young and older and it still has the same feeling! From the lions and tigers to the penguins in the water. To the butterfly room and bird room full of character and happiness

A nice zoo. Theyve carefully chosen animals to fit the space available which means they all have ample space and territory to roam, despite being in the middle of London.Theres plenty of coffee shops and bathrooms to get even the most tired adults around.I can thoroughly recommend the butterfly and lemur exhibits for those who like to get up close and personal with the animals.

Great London attraction. Ideal for adults and children alike. There is so much to explore meaning that you can have a full day out without getting bored. Very spacious and specious zoo with all the animals appearing to be well looked after. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Lots to keep children occupied. A nice walk across Regents Park to get here from the local underground stations. The only negative about the day was that our feet hurt from all the walking :-)

London zoo is just the best, have visited a few zoos but they just dont compare to this one. There is so much to see and do and so many beautiful animals.I love the fact you can get up and personal in some parts of the park such as the petting farm, butterfly house and free range spider enclosures which are great and unique to this zoo.we also loved watching the leaf cutter ants waking along the free range ropes going about their business just fascinating to watch. The penguins are just great and in the large enclosure pool You can even watch them from under the water and managed to get some fantastic pictures of them. Honestly I could Go on and on, I love the fact that unlike Other zoos you only have to walk short distances between different enclosures and our day was completely filled with wonder and Interest. The only thing that we found is that if you are not great at followings maps then you could possibly miss some of the animals and We realised we had missed a section that seemed to be separate from the main part of the zoo when we were leaving. we thought we had seen everything but hadnt which was a shame But a great excuse to re visit which I will absolutely do.Perhaps a coloured trail around the park would help to identify a route that will ensure every enclosure is covered by the time You get it the end would be great idea and although there were markings on the floor we were still unsure of the routes to go and doubled back a few times to enclosure we had already seen (prob just our sense of back direction lol)Overall this zoo is fantastic no other word for it and highly recommended 👍

Enjoyed a lovely sunny day out at the zoo. It was busy but not too crowded. Enjoyed walking around and seeing the animals and got some great photos. Food in the terrace restaurant was OK, but not great. Coffee from the outlets around the zoo was good though. Staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The talk about the komodo dragons was fascinating and extremely well delivered by the presenter with great passion and energy. On the whole a great family day out.

it wasnt what I expected, the animals were few and drowsy, but I didnt like the crowd anyway. High prices for anything, in conclusion tickets are exaggeratedly expensive for what you will see. the location is well thought out and good looking, a few new points in the works and there will be new animals soon, at least thats what he wrote. And something very hard for me, it was very difficult to make a good photo, because of the due to crowds and fences.

An excellent zoo. Great variety of animals. Well maintained facilities. Lots of cafes scattered about. A playground. Activities geared toward kids. Friendly and helpful staff. No complaints, really. We bought a year-long family pass, which pays for itself after just a few visits. It’s nice to come to the zoo every other month or so for a few hours. The gift shop is also good, with a great range of toys and other gear, much of it quite reasonably priced. I highly recommend the zoo.

I took my son for a junior Zoo keeper for the day experience for 11 to 15 Yr olds. We arrived before the zoo had opened which was great. There was a group of 4 including my son. They got to feed monkeys, giraffes, coatis and wash out the giant tortoise enclosure. The ticket is quite expensive at £170, as I write, but the parent or carer gets free entry and can act as photographer. Our guide was very funny and knowledgeable. My son loved his experience and it was excellent as a birthday present as he is a keen animal lover.London zoo itself is wonderful with lots of animals. It is well sign posted with lots of places to stop and rest and refreshments. I would definitely recommend for all ages.

The zoo was overall very good but you have to prebook your tickets, which we didnt know and would be a big problem to those without smartphones, elderly or disabled people. We booked our tickets online, waited about 5 minutes for the confirmation email to arrive and were then finally good to go.The animals looked well cared for and the signage was clear. The gift shop was quite reasonable for most items and there were several different enclosures and areas. Overall we had a good afternoon and we would definitely return in the future.

Surprisingly amazing! It was a pricey at first but when we got there we realised it was a large proper zoo! Well worth the money. We arrived at 230 on a Saturday for a 5 pm closing time. How much time do you need to spend at the London zoo ? The 2.5 hours was perfect for Two adults with a wheelchair. With kids I would suggest 3 hours. You can get tickets to either enter at or after 10am or at or after 12. You don’t have to be there right at 10 or 12! It’s really cool that you can also see some of the animals for free just walking along the river or park. Super fun and large variety of animals. Tiger, lion, monkeys, giraffes, Pygmy hippo, zebra, penguins, tortoise, and more

Went here a lot as a child so maybe I had rose tinted spectacles bringing my kids here 30 years later… still great fun, plenty of great animals to see etc but it’s list it’s magic for me. Maybe I’m cynical in my old age but is it really in the best interests of the animals? The giraffe house is a beautiful old building but is it really suitable for the giraffes any more? The aviary is being dismantled. Not sure where all the birds went! Best bit for me was the penguin beach!

We have the most magical day at London Zoo. The staff were super helpful and friendly, they are so enthusiastic and know so much about the animals they care for. The Zoo is laid out well and the displays are wonderful. We loved all the factual information about the animals and about how the Zoo are helping them. Lots of animals to see and there are interactive parts where you can get up close to the animals too. Highly recommend London Zoo for a wonderful day out.

Good day out for the kids. Quite a lot to see and can take a while going around this place. Lots of walking so have your walking shoes on. Go off season or off peak to avoid crowds especially school groups.Do donate to help keep them going. Tickets are expensive but so is running this place in the middle of London.Staff are friendly and helpful and the research and education teams do a great job.Feel a bit sorry for the animals as the lack of space is clearly evident and a compromise to be made to keep the Zoo in London.Easiest stops to get there Camden Town and Baker Street. The cafeteria could do with better cleaning standards and the outdoor seating in the cafeteria is worth it.

Absolutely loved this zoo. Its got three main paths, and we only had time for the Orange one before they were closing. You can get quite close to the animals who seem very healthy. In particular, the monkey area is open and they allow the monkeys to come out into the same area as the people with no barriers at all. They definitely shut down at 1600, and then you have an hour to leave. Recommend getting there for the 10 am opening.

We went as two adults on a weekend and found enough to keep us entertained for 3-3.5 hours. Some animals were hiding out from the cold and others moved from current enclosures, and some of the cafes were temporarily closed. It seemed very child-friendly for those with kids.Definitely check out the butterflies, penguins, and various monkeys as they are very entertaining. Also worth seeing what time the feedings or short talks are as they can be quite informative.I’m not sure it’s worth the full ticket price, but surely if you get a deal it’s a nice afternoon out.

There was a lot of ongoing improvement creating new enclosures as a consequence some animals were not on display. Too many areas were under refurbishment or replacement. So the entrance fee was a bit steep considering the reduced experience. However seeing the tiger family with their new baby was certainly a highlight.

Situated in central London next to Regents Park it offers a whole day activity. Best to get here is using public transport. Its a good place to visit with children or your friends. The staff is nice and helpful. Check before you visit unfortunately sometimes not all animals advertised on there site can be found. They have interactive programs which are educative and fun. Best to visit in warm times.

Zoos in the winter are not the best idea. The tigers didnt show and I cant blame them... It was 5 degrees the day we visited. Many of the exhibitions are under construction for improvement which shows great things are coming in near future. The spiders, snakes and butterflies are worth a visit! Such an amazing experience to be surrounded by butterflies! The rainforest bit was also good.

A great zoo for young children to get to know all the common animals. It is very easy to walk around and see most of the animals in about 2 to 3 hours.Without a doubt we prefer Whipsnade Zoo where the animals are free to roam and there is more variety but the central location within London of London Zoo is very advantageous and does mean that we come here more frequently. You can park just outside on the road for 4 hours for under £12 or used the London Zoo car park for a little more all day.

Amazing experience, when you enter youre instantly inside a fantastic mood. You have a lot of different animals and its ideal for kids with families, friends or couples just hanging out for something interesting. And as a photographer and reviewer I really appreciate the effort and amount of work they put into! Here some shots from the day, unlucky I came really late almost closure, but will return for sure.
