Long-running, simply-styled restaurant with columns and wall hangings, for Northern Chinese cuisine.
The lamb and leek dish is a must! Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and very friendly hosts. Definitely recommend
We have eaten at The Yuet Ben for many, many years and have never even once been disappointed. We have also had many take aways ( collectionsfrom there and they have been brilliant too. The food is second to none.We visited the restaurant last night with our young grandchildren who won’t eat any other ribs apart from ‘Terry’s ribs ‘ !!!….’ they have got very good taste, they are amazing !!As usual all of the food was superb, freshly cooked and swiftly served by great staff. We finished with the toffee apples which definitely deserve a mention !We have been patrons of this restaurant for many years but somehow you never seem to think to give your favourites a review - I am rectifying this now and I would advise anyone to go and visit Terry and Theresa and enjoy some wonderful food which is always consistent. You are in for a treat !
This has been one of my favourite restaurants, anywhere in the world, for over 40 years!
Had a great night in Yuet Ben staff wonderful, attentive and great fun. The food absolutely tasty and excellent the best ever. The friends who were with me enjoyed it also. Thank you 😊
Lovely Chinese food and friendly staff made us feel very welcome
Best Chinese food in Liverpool.
I went to the Yuet Ben for a family party for 17 people including 4 children. The whole experience was awful. No tables were ready and at one point the person who seemed to be in charged asked if it would be ok to sit at two tables across the walk way.We had to wait 2hours for our main meal. The food was ok but nothing special. This restaurant is living on its past history. After this awful experience we had a £52 service charge!!!Please dont waste your money here there are so many fabulous places to eat in Liverpool.
Disappointing overall experience. Burnt crispy duck - registered this, but staff generally disinterested and in no way sympathetic or apologetic. Long (abnormalwait for food. Soured an exciting weekend trip to Liverpool.
Really tasty food and good value for money. Excellent service
The food was tasty but they dont have much variety on choices.
Came early on Friday 12 Nov, been trying to get here for ages, well worth the wait, food is absolutely amazing, Terry and his team are very welcoming, be back for sure!
Great food! Make sure you try Yuet Ben dry ribs
This place continues to serve outstanding food. Come here every trip back home. Never anything but excellent.
We had our best ever Chinese meal here last week. Can honestly say we enjoyed every mouthful. The starters were amazing - especially the spare ribs and crispy duck with chilli sauce . We had Menu B but swapped the chicken for King Prawns and that was such a good decision as the Prawns were cooked toperfection. Just wish that I’d had room for dessert as my husband thoroughly enjoyed his .Meal was very reasonable and we had a lovely view of the lit up gate. Can’t wait to return to Liverpool again so that we can visit this restaurant again.
As ever the food is wonderful. Best ribs in the world. Terrys food is always top notch. Been regular customers since 1978.
Absolutely fantastic food with incredible service. Excellent value & highly recommended.I believe this is the oldest Chinese restaurant in Liverpool and there is great reason for it.The prawn toast was very delicious and freshly made.Highly recommend asking for their own made chilli oil which was scrumptious. The spicy lamb was tender and full of flavour. I asked for it to be extra spicy which they kindly obliged. The prices are very reasonable. The service is very friendly and the chef & owners greet & interact with you.Highly recommended
Best Chinese food ever ! Every time I am back home in Liverpool I make sure I come here. You must try the ribs. I have been to the supposed best all round the world ....not a patch on the Yuet Ben
Beautiful food and fantastic service, would highly recommend 👌
Lovely setting with great views over the Chinatown gate. Lovely curries (we had garlic prawn, blackbean beef, hot spicy chicken and sweet sour fish. Egg fried rice was lovely. Prawn toast wasnt our favourite but was fine. Prices reasonable and the deals for two look like good value.Nice elegant setting, lovely manager and good curries. Interesting vegan menu too
The food was beautiful, i totally reccomend to eat here👍
Visited for a take away, picked here as they have a full separate Vegan menu. Loads of choices which isnt always the case at a Chinese! The sweetcorn soup is AMAZING! Cant wait to go back and have it again! The whole meal tasted super fresh and for a take away it tasted clean, not greesy at all. Highly recommend. Staff lovely too
Great service and very happy with the food! Will definitely go again.
Went here on a trip to Liverpool and had a lovely meal. They have a great vegetarian menu. The shredded tofu and hoisin is recommended. The crispy rice also is lovely and something ive never seen in any other restaurant
I had a very good meal here last night, and the service was excellent!
Amazing food and really friendly. 100% recommend going there.
Thank you for a great night. From the moment we entered we felt like Honoured Guests. Food and service was faultless and all at a fair price. First, but certainly not the last, visit to a great restaurant. Visited 24/08/20
Best meal Ive eaten since lockdown..... fabulous food, brilliant service... i hope everybody orders a takeaway and keeps Yuet Ben in business...cant wait to book a table xxx
Amazing food as always! Three very happy customers! Terry and Theresa are both lovely and I would reccomend the Yuet Ben to any one!
Really pleasant and efficient staff, tasty food, reasonable prices and good atmosphere. Hope to go again sometime.
Delicious food, excellent service. Small menu so everything is done well! Would recommend!
Great place to eat, friendly staff, service is excellent and food is to die for.
Excellent food good service in a nice atmosphere, making for a nice atmosphere, will return shortly
Great food and really friendly staff. Will definitely go again.
Friendly and quick service, and so accommodating of our 6 month old (at 6pm on a Saturday). For those wondering about portion size - this isn’t a “pile it high, sell it cheap” kind of place, but the portions are plenty for a meal and made with fresh, quality ingredients that are beautifully cooked.
My family and I have been going to this restaurant for over 15 years, never a problem before until last night. Booked a table for 830 only to then have to wait 30 minutes upon arrival. We then had to wait an hour and a half for our mains, which only then came out because we complained. When one dish finally came come out, it was soggy and mild in temperature. We decided to leave without seeing any of the other dishes & still had to pay the full bill. The manager tried to give us 10% discount but we refused as it was insulting. They also tried to charge us for an extra bottle of wine. Won’t be going back again, place has gone down hill.

Super food, no waiting but a,little confusion with the waiting staff about our food. I think this may have been because they were new. Definately will come back when in the area.
Really disappointed with this restaurant. I had heard good things from people who have visited in the past, but I think it must have gone down hill since then. There was no atmosphere in this restaurant, not even any music playing, it all felt very clinical. The outside of the restaurant looked very nice but when inside we were put on a tiny table with a cheap disposable table cloth. The two members of staff were very friendly but we could tell they were overworked and understaffed. I actually think the one chap waiting on was the chef?!The service was incredibly slow for the minimal amount of people in the restaurant. We were genuinely there two hours in total and hadn’t ordered a lot of food. The portion size was skimpy, one slice of prawn toast between the two of us cut up into finger sized little pieces (meant for two people!that was almost comical and we did laugh. The food that came had so much MSG in it, very very salty taste that hit your taste buds instantly! The food wasn’t very hot either. Then the price of the meal for the two of us at the end was £55!! We were both still hungry at the end which I’ve never experienced at the end of a Chinese meal!!Really disappointed with the slow service and poor quality food. I actually feel sorry for them as I assume they must be struggling. Sorry.
Absolutely loved it here, food was delicious and service was impeccable, worth every penny and it definitely won’t be my last visit.
This has got to be one of the most amazing stunning clean and stylish Chinese restaurant I have ever been to the food was outstanding it was that good I could feel it in my throat the texture was to die for the flavour was to overkill delicious wasnt in it . Me and my family really enjoyed ourselves we will be returning back for more food and reap our meals .
Superb meal. Some of the best Chinese food Ive ever eaten. Chose one of the set menus for 4 people that included duck and spare ribs that were absolutely delicious. Staff were also very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.
The best Chinese food we had in a long long time particularly good spare ribs, crispy duck and chili beef. Freshly made and great taste. All on a set menu at reasonable price. Highly recommend
Our favourite restaurant in the world. 4 generations still visiting, unreal food. Amazing hosts where nothing is too much trouble. We love it! Definately try the dry ribs, chilli beef anf carrots and the chicken tomato crispy rice 💗
Absolutely brilliant restraunt. Best in the north west...only been going there for thirty years must me good..
Heard much about this venue ,, A friend of mine wanted to go to Liverpool China Town ,, Sadly it looked real depressing once you past thro the beautiful Chinese Arch . I was told about your restaurant so we visited it in April 2018,, very early on about 6pm ,, Only the two of in there , Susan looked after us amazingly ,, Food was so delicious and we cant wait to return ,, Thank you at this lovely eating house
After reading the other reviews we eagerly made a reservation here. Unfortunately the food was bland, the service very slow and our main curses arrived in 10 minute intervals so my extremely salty chicken was eaten with cold rice. We were told after our meal that one of the s=chefs was on holiday but this doesnt explain how they lost the entire order of the table next to us and had to take it all again 15 minutes after they originally placed their order. So disappointing :(
The staff were really friendly and the restaurant was heaving with people on a Saturday night, however I found most of the food to be quite bland. Maybe we picked the wrong options? The highlight was the Singapore Noodles.
Good old fashion Chinese food, served politely by the owner, this is good. too often restaurants have uncaring staff and cooks. we will return.
We went to try the vegan options, of which there were many. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Lovely view looking over the Chinese arch. As we left it started to rain very heavily and the staff gave us an umbrella to take away. What a lovely place with lovely people. Highly recommend.
Tried the hot spice chicken with some rice and Chinese beer. My friends had different kind of chicken with cashew nuts and some noodles. All dishes have been tasty. Service quick and flawless. Definitely recommend that place.
