Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum - Museum in Ypsilanti, United States
A nice display of Hudson, Kaiser, Fraser, and Corvair cars. Friendly and helpful staff.
I attended a birthday party at this venue and was amazed how wonderful it was.. I do plan to go back and spend many hours looking around. The amount of automobiles housed in that really cool building is very surprising.
Very cool little gem, I didnt know was there. Great cars I had never seen.
Has been here twice and cars collection was amazing. And admission fee was affordable.
Nice auto museum for Hudson and other orphan car folks. They have what I understand to be the only existing convertible huts and jet on the showroom floor of the old dealership.very cool.we went there as part of a tour during our Hudson National meet.
2nd time here. Both visits were part of International Hudson Essex, Terraplane meets in 2009 and 2022. Wonderful displays and several other makes to see plus so much more. Bring the kids of all ages. The inspiration for "Doc Hudson" from the Disney movie "Cars" is there too
Stopped in as part of the Heritage Trail. They had a special event going on so I couldnt see the entire place, but what I was allowed to see, it was an awesome place.
Still did not make it there, need to find a day when its finally open.
It’s a small museum but contains so much . If you are a fan of Ypsilanti history and love it’s ties to automotive heritage you will love this place . Don’t be fooled by it’s small appearance on the outside .
I went back in 2019 and loved it. The cars are beautiful and seeing the Hudson Hornet was cool :small place with lots of love
Really enjoyed this collection. Not a giant museum but with the trip.
I took a couple young men from the church there and we had a pretty good time
The staff are knowledgeable, polite and helpful. Had a birthday party there and it went as smooth as can be. Plenty of handicapped parking.
A hidden Gem in the town. Great local history.
Love the car museum. Chevrolet, Dodge, Hudsons, & Kaiser cars. History of them and the engines is great knowledge
This place is amazing. Tons of cool stuff with all the info you could ask for. Only 5$ per person and we spent a few hours there. Plenty to do within walking distance including restaurants and parks. I highly recommend this place for a fun day out.
Amazing collection of local automobilia
We’ve been here several times and everyone always has a wonderful experience- old, young, or in between, this place is worth the price of admission and then some. So glad to have it nearby!
For $5 you get to see a small garage of vintage cars! Well worth the money and well worth the stop. I love seeing historical museums.
Great place to see old cars
Great car show. Called Orphan Car Show. One year model cars.
The cars and the staff were absolutely fantastic! Its a "must stop and see" if youre in the neighborhood.
Cute little museum. If youre in the area worth the $5.00.
Very nice selection of collection of cars and transmissions. Really s great spot to learn the history of willow run!!
Great little museum housed in an old Hudson dealer. Features a collection of cars built in Ypsilanti as well as Hudsons including a real Hudson NASCAR racer.
Coolest museum in Ypsi by far - the owner is extremely informative and friendly, definitely work a visit, it is only $5!
Cheap admission to the history of Ypsilanti through the cars and parts it built. Seeing the four, autographed last transmissions built in a massive factory that had been in operation since WWII building bombers, then cars, the automatic transmissions is heady stuff. Its amazing what was lost due to GMs mismanagement. Though it focuses on the products, the museum serves as a reminder of Michigans manufacturing might and the peoples flexibility. Some of the cars here are rare, some are one of a kind, but theyre all immaculate and worth a look or two.
If youre a car history person this is an awesome find. I recommend going.
This gem of an historical nature faithfully details the history of both the Hudson Motor Car company and the Ypsilanti automobile industry in a strikingly visual manner. While the nature of the automobiles and various exhibits appear mundane in their simplicity, careful attention shows a much richer story. It is fascinating to see how they show the effect that Hudson, Kaiser-Frazer, and the Willow Run Assembly had on this community and on the American auto market as a whole. Good for a shorter visit as facility is small, but well worth the time if you are in the area.
A great museum which participates in many car events. Many interesting cars and ephemera.
With so much automotive history crammed within 10 miles of the place they do a great job covering it all. Tucker, GM Hydramatic and of course the Hudson archives. Fantastic display of cars ranging from cool to obnoxiously rare. great way to spend a couple hours in the afternoon. Check out their cruise nights in summer on Thursdays in Depot Town or their Orphan Car show in September.
Amazing display of history but need to upgrade things so more interactive and the folks at the desk could stand to be more excited about the place.
Neat place. packed with info and lots of cars and memorabilia.
Nice place with some great cars.
Love this museum, especially love the 1958 Blue and White Oldsmobile.
Perfect place to visit if youre a car fanatic
Neat place, must see for a car enthusiasts!
Great collection of interesting cars
Really cool place to look at some sweet old cars! For $5 it goes to a good cause, and there is a DeLorean there!
This place transports you back to that post war boom when America was leading the modern way of life. Loved it!
Very interesting and charming for a small museum. Worth the small entrance fee.
Excellent place to visit and learn The heartage of the Area
A nice little museum. The kids under 12 were free. Takes about an hour to walk through. The highlight of the tour for the kids was they actually let me sit in the Delorean. I was surprised the Delorean speedometer only went to 85 mph since we know the magic starts at 88.
A ton of info in here. Good variety of unusual cars and memorabilia.
Nice display of some classic cars. Not a lot of space around the displays.
If you love cars and local history this is the place to go.
This is a great small museum, especially for classic car enthusiasts. The staff were very informative. It is located in the historic Depot Town and you can just walk across the street afterwards for a nice lunch or coffee. It is a great destination for a pleasant afternoon.
Really cool car museum. Inexpensive to go, great for the family. Something is always changing monthly!
Great experience! Well displayed and cared for collection of historical artifacts. Works of art, really. And the people who volunteer their time to staff and sustain it are wonderful. They love the museum and they love the work that perpetuates it. This is a treasure of our American automotive legacy.
I talked with some nutty woman on the telephone at the automotive corvaird museum in Ypsilanti,MI.and she was freaking rude as heck. Man oh man was she ever? Get a nice lady to answer thetelephone ok??????????????????
