Yooji’s - Sushi restaurant in Zürich (Kreis 12), Switzerland
Good quality across-the-board. Nothing over the top great but there is not a single item on the menu that is bad.
The food is okay for what it is but its a little pricey. I do like the option of being able to order from the tablets out front if it gets really busy. Its right at the train station tram stop so that makes it really convenient.
Pricy but their food was fresh and service was very friendly. Select was decent as I come from places with lots of sushi selection so a bit picky. We have a vegan friend with us and they try to be accomodate as best as possible. We noticed a lady blowing her nose without wash her hands after so that kinda gross my friend out.
The sushi is probably alright but the noodle soup is bland and not worth it. Doesn’t even taste like Asian food. You can tell they cut corners, literally just noodles with a few sad pieces of meat and vegetables. Never had such tasteless ramen in my life.
Yooji’s is a multi takeaway, dine in, or pickup a prepared ready made packaged meal.On the street level ground floor you can pickup a prepackaged meal for quick pickup on the go or eat in. Downstairs is the sushi train restaurant which enables you to take a seat and pick a meal from the train as it passes your table seating. There is the option to order from the menu individually or you can call for service on the tablet and a waiter will visit you to assist with your order. My partner and I visited for diner and was hoping to obtain a hot meal. They do serve hot Miso soup (mild or spicy), but when asking if they had chicken dishes it was found only cold strips of chicken teriyaki was available. It was surprising there was no chicken in a sushi roll. When we ordered miso soup we asked for tap water and the waitress brought a carafe of water. When departing after we had finished the bill noted that the tap water was 3 Swiss franc (which was quite surprising). The restaurant was extremely busy and a large group ahead of us was asked to return later (which they didas there were no seats available for the large party to be seated. The staff are very helpful and speak English. The venue does have a lot of freshly made dishes available consistently moving around the sushi train and they will make Poke bowls from the menu, along with noodle soups. If you see a dish passing you via the Sushi Train and you are wondering what is in the dish, you can pickup the dish and place it on top of the “information tab” at your table seating for a quick description of the dish and it contents displayed on your tablet in front of you.
Food is varied, fresh and tasty, and you can get seats where you can see it be made directly.Service is automatic for sushi and the like. (conveyor belt style)Other services are fast, even at full capacity. All in all very good experience, but expect to pay at least 30-50 per person.
Glutenfree options available! Everyones always very nice! Chocolate mochis are super!!!
Great sushi, lots of choices to choose from, pick your sushi, pay and eat.. they also have hot food options..
far from the japanese taste i know. but i understand that they have to adjust the taste to european especially that they are located on Banhofstausse
Ok place for sushi the pads and the delivery band are cool the selection is ok there are definitely places with a bigger selection for the price but ok for a sushi urge
I visited this Yooji’s a few times to get sushi. The restaurant is beautifully designed with a nice atmosphere. Customer service is decent and the selection of sushi is not too bad.Unfortunately its slightly overpriced in my opinion and, most importantly, there are very few vegan options which is not ideal, especially when compared to Negishi down the road that have plenty of vegan options.Good place overall but Negishi is still n.1 sushi place in Zurich in my opinion.
Staff speaks little English, but you can understand each other after a while. Sat for coffee and asked for strong one, but was mostly milk and foam. Nice location close to the Zurich central train station on a quite busy street. Price for iced latte macchiato 6.40 CHF.
Nice sushi train. Good sushi as well. Me like.
First visit. Surprisingly an awesome find. Very clean, very modern, everything (food and drinklook so lovely and what a wide range of food! We will definitely be back!
The quality of the Sushi has dropped massively. Service is still great. Selection is still great. Just the attention to detail and quality of product is not at the level for the price. Nevertheless for a quick bite it is good.
best cappuccino and very good service and view. 10/10
I loved it! A little bit expensive but the tastes are really good. I will surely go again
Loving the vegetarian options! Top quality options always. The only issue is that there is no competition for them (like in the UK where you find Wasabi, Itsu etcso everything is extremely expensive... You need at least 35 CHF to get a filling enough portion for 1.
The food is of excellent quality. I am a huge fan of the vegan sushi mix. Its a very creative composition with different seeds and spices. Love it.Unfortunately, you always end up with so much plastic packaging (the sushi, the 3 bags of soy sauce, the ginger, the wasabi, the chopsticks... everything is wrapped in plastic. This gives the place a fastfood chain touch, thus it will not become my favourite place for a nice night out with friends.
The main floor is "affordable", the -1 is not. Its always a good solution when youre in between two trains, plus the salmon was particularly good when I went there.
Very nice conveyor belt style sushi restaurant. The food was very good and the waiters were also super friendly and acommodating. Prices are normal for Sushi in Switzerland (-> not cheap)
Nice place to set and eat some sushi 🍣 in or out..Friendly staff and helpfulLuxury and modern
Very great restaurant. The manager is very nice and friendly. The staffs are wonderful. And the food is excellent.I always highly recommend all people to come to eat at here!
Love this place - with a wide choice of fresh sushi selection. Staff mostly friendly and helpful. Nice space at Bahnhofstrasse where you can enjoy outside your choice. Unfortunately the at visit one staff with without mask inside. Already last week was wearing his mask under the nose. A no go for me, but every one must decide for themself if tolerated.
Service: they look unhappy to the customers. 😣Food: ok. Average.Location: very easy to take away.
For what its worth, acceptable. No greeting, no hellos from staffs at the counter while standing in front of them, waiting for them to finish their little chit chat session before they notice we are waiting. But for the price and its concept, fitting. 2 stars for food and location. Thats all.
Great tasting sushi! Tea was great too! Chefs done a great job! Recommended.
Probably the best place near HB for a regular lunch or dinner. The HB brunch accepts reservations for the sushi conveyor belt, while the Bellevue branch only for the tables. I wish there were Yoojis branches in canton Zürich and overall in Switzerland.
Tasty sushis and very nice location. Caring personal too.
Great place, the missing 5th star is on account of the waiting process. Waiting for someone to finish a meal is understandable, however, waiting 30 to 40 minutes for someone I finish a final sip of their drink is ridiculous. There should really be a time limit enforced
Very nice place. Ideal both for a quick lunch and a more relaxing dinner
In this review, I would have preferred giving Yoojis a 4.5 star rating because there has been more improvement in the quality and variety of products here in Zürich. This chain actually took the courageous effort to open sooner when local lockdown measures were eased. They have at least 2 hot noodle soups as dine-in or takeaways, and the sashimi and sushi were fresh as ever. Beer and Japanese label alcoholic beverages were available, and some sweet snacks and desserts help round out the meal. The place was very clean, and there were handicapped as well as regular toilets available. I would like to see larger portion items on the menu as the quarantine restrictions ease up. We were also surprised when we found 3 different types of Japanese Salad Dressing sold in the refrigerated section. Now if they can stock up on similar popular Japanese crackers, condiments, and snacks, it would be a refreshing take on Asian cuisine. A serious expansion and inclusion of items would be a welcome opportunity for everyone to sample contemporary Japanese cuisine.
The concept is really nice, but the food was quite bad. The sushi was not fresh, and didnt taste very good, same for the teriyaki chicken. For desert I ordered some mochi, that were served fully frozen, I had to wait for them to defrost in my plate. The drinks were very good though, they had nice selection of tea. Overall it looks really nice, but I would not eat sushi from them again.
I got free Mochi ice cream for my birthday!!! Sushi is a band but I felt there wasnt much choice. Service is quick and nice
Although this is by no means the best sushi Ive had or even the best sushi in Zurich, for what it is (which is a lighthearted sushi place with creative sushi dishes, which is not too expensive), you cant not like this place. I always have a good experience here, and although sushi is always expensive I find a normal meal at Yoojis relatively cheap. Not the best but good for what it is.
Unfortunatly running sushi had been fully occupied and waiting would have been 15 minutes at least we choose to stay in the self service section. The quality is good and if you are into Sushi the selection should be ok.
What a great place. Fresh sushi that cruises by or order what you want from an app! Loved the concept and service was fast and food delicious!
I love this place for all the veggie sushi options. The food is great. I was there with four , 10 year old girls and boy!, they did scramble for the food! and couldnt have a enough of it! I think that speaks volumes. I cut the fun short (pocket not deep enoughby suggesting we should save our tummies for dessert elsewhere! Because we tried the dessert here before and it wasnt our thing.
The restaurant downstairs is very nice. Each of the little moving plates can be scanned to see the price and content on your individual screen before deciding on it; the screens can also be used to order from the menu and call the service. This system works like a charm!
Nice sushi-bar restaurant. The carousel for sushi and dishes works as the traditional japanese ones. You can even order specialties and cocktails using a touchscreen system which is really comfortable. The variety of rolls is large, they also include some creations from their chef that tend to be tasty. The ingredients are as fresh as possible (frozen tuna was not that badand there is always a guide for food allergies that you can look for using the screen, which is really great. The overall ambiance is casual-chich and friendly without being noisy. I have to say that it is pricey but it depends also on how much and what you eat (the cheapest maki rolls are 5.50 while the most expensive sashimi or nigiri can go up to 12.5 CHF per small portion, the cocktails are around 10-15 CHF). Recommended for those craving for sushi and who dont care much about the price tag on the tower of dishes at the end. Coming back!
Really nice tofu noodle soup. Its was very tasty. The only reason why I gave 3 stars is because I expected the bowl to be bigger. For me this was a small/ medium bowl and not large. However, everything is fresh and made to order. The running sushi looked great!I didnt try it but even on the menu, I saw that they have some unusual combinations. The staff on duty was very helpful in explaining how the restaurant works. On the street level you can order takeaway food, the basement is the heart of the restaurant with the kitchen in the middle so you can watch the chefs prepare the items that you ordered. To order your food, you must use the iPad. Whats good is that if you dont see what you like on the running sushi, you can order it on the iPad. Each seat has an iPad. There is a bar with a wide range of alcohol. The toilet facilities are also very clean and are well maintained.
Great food, quite expensive as the rest of Zürich. Quick and friendly service. Wide selection of curries, soups and sushi. Good selection of wine, beer and sake. 2 stories with the typical "sushi train" in the basement. Great location, friendly staff, good foods, good drinks. A place to enjoy Asian food and maybe try something new?
No reservation was needed, luckily we had no waiting time at the sushi conveyor belt area, good service and support staff
Perfect place for a quick bite as you come in and can go sit at the sushi train and grab what you want. Theres a little screen via which you can order drinks and sushi, but you can also order with the staff. Im giving this four stars as some of the sushi came right out of the fridge and it was cold, the rice was hard (which made me think it was made the day before?). The staff did take it back and i didnt have to pay for it, which I think was nice! If you take sushi directly from the train you are fine. They mostly have standard creations, and some more advanced to order separately. I have been to this place a few times now and would say its great if you dont have much time but still want some decent sushi! I wouldnt go for a date there as the seating is next to each other and not in front of each other, because of the sushi train.
Yummy yummy yummy! First time to try Japanese food in Zurich, can’t image how good they are!! 👍🏻👍🏻 I like it very much! Comment from Hong Kong 😍😍😍
Really convenient food and service. +This is good because you can collect the coins for yourself and then get rewarded. Get used to it. By the way be prepare for an extraordinary way to eat as there is a trail of sushi in the underground waiting for you just to take the right sushi. Your chosen one. Also, did I mention it moves? Perfect to give your relatives and friends the things they need in a velocity that is charmingly rapid. Keep me working on this as this really is one of my favorite restaurants in Zurich. My special tip? Spicy shrimp Tatar. Like sashimi. Taste, youll love.
What a fun concept. Sushi belt with iPad for additional orders. The food wash fresh and great flavour. Some fun new sushi bites served as the “chef special”. Also a really central location so great for a quick bit before catching your train. I do miss the human interaction of a restaurant with this concept but that’s just a personal preference.
The quality is ok. Sushi a d nigiris are not very precise. It is good but lacking details. Therefore the restaurant is too expensive for the quality. If you do not want to speak to anyone the place is good as you do not even have to speak to the staff as everything is done either by serving yourself or ordering through a tablet.
I enjoy Yooji‘s Sushi regularly as take away. First visit in the restaurant in the lower ground was a nice experience. It was full and we had to wait for about 15 minutes for a table to become available. Great service: we were asked what we would like to drink as soon as we arrived and started to queue and then were able to enjoy a beer while waiting. The staff continuously updated us re our waiting time. Will definitely go back!
Convenient location, it pops up when I am grace in Japanese food. Sushi isnt the best, service is a bit slow.
