Theres always something going on here. Day or night, I always love this spot. Take in the street performers, free samples, the buildings and lighted billboards, the people, the energy and the sound! So much in one spot. Sundays free sample was a can of Strongbow Cider! YES! A full can! Thanks @Strongbow

I went to see the Taiwan exhibit and it was well below my expectations considering the advertising done for it. All the big hype about it on Facebook and what I walked into was disappointing. Problem is if you know the story of the boy who cried wolf…. now I basically have to go to every event at Dundas square just in case it is better than what I experienced yesterday on Sunday.

Think of Times Square in the 90s, add a few religious nutters going on about their invisible friends, add some sketchy dudes and a scramble crossing ... Dont forget the kids, it will be an experience they wont forget. Seriously if youre taking the kids, park inside and avoid the grime. Good mall, sketchy corner.

Its a nice place; always alive and full of lights, often hosts public performances or demonstrations, and you can find everything you need in the area. From restaurants and cafes and bars, to clothing and electronic stores. But its messy and super noisy especially with the terrible drummers playing 24/7 in the front of Eaton Centre.

The mini Times Square of Canada. Dundas square and the whole city is back to life after a long time. Great place to go when there are events such as Nuit Blanche.

Dundas Square is a smaller „times square“. We loved that its much less frequented but of course it is not comparable with the times square itself.

Toronto “Times Square”, very vivid metaphor.Great vibe, busiest intersection, live music, dazzling billboard, really great place to hang out with friends. If there is a concert, that would be wonderful.Would come again.

Its a great public space for events in the heart of downtown Toronto. The summer time is particularly a good time as they always have some event happening. It is also typically free to the public which is an added bonus. Lots to see and do nearby as well.

Yonge-Dundas Square is a unique focal point of the downtown Toronto community. The Square is designated for use as a public open space and as an event venue that can accommodate events of various sizes. Youll discover a wide range of activities on the Square: community celebrations, theatrical events, concerts, receptions, promotions – events that appeal to residents and tourists alike and provide a showcase for local businesses

Calling it the times square of Toronto really over sells this location. On your average day its just a large empty concrete pad being traversed by the people of the city, but surrounded with bright advertising covering the nearby buildings. Drummers or other street performers are typical around here, as are religious preachers kindly reminding us that were going to hell as we try to cross the squares intersection. An excellent spot to protest if you dont really know what youre protesting or which government body is responsible for it.During events the square transforms into a street party and the surrounding traffic (both pedestrian and vehicularintensifies. Theres often a variety of events that use the site and can lead for some memorable days!Would I recommend it as a tourist destination? Absolutely notWould I recommend walking by to get a taste of downtown, definitely.

This may have been the least impressive section of Toronto. Seems like a bad Times Square impersonation. Lots of vagrants. Decent big store shopping.

Perfect place for midsized events Its right in between Eaton Centre, a cinema, and lots of eateries/restaurants. The subway station is right there and the four-way pedestrian crossing is a bonus. Makes one feel safe.

Torontos version of New Yorks times square. I actually like this spot because there is so many cool things around it, and it is very centrally located close to Eaton center and the atrium on Bay, among other really good restaurants. However the problem with this spot is in the same traffic, massive overcrowding, and a fair bit of strange people that can often make you feel very uncomfortable. Other than that it actually is a very nice tourism Spot

We couldnt really roam around freely due to a basketball event going on. The event was a nice to experience though as we took part in some free activities and watched a game. It does remind me of Times Square. I wish we could have seen it without any event and also when it got dark. Close to Eaton Centre and Nathan Phillips Square.

This was a nice discovery as a place to sit freely and relax. The open space provided a place of comfort and rest from walking. It also had some live entertainment to listen to and see. Clean and a acceptable comfort zone in the middle of a busy city

Nice place to hangout with friends. It lights up well at evening and kinda gives you a times square feel. Ample number of food joints around but I love grabbing from chipotle. I usually park at city hall parking and the walk is pretty decent to this square considering the foot traffic it generates. Loved being here and would recommend anyone whos around downtown to have a quick visit. Cheers!!

The square is similar to the New York’s Time’s Sauare with screens and displays at every corner and space as the sight goes. You’ll find people entertaining each other like dancing, drum bands, etc,You can just come here to chill and you could find something or the other exciting stuff going around. There is Toronto Eaton Center mall just in front and the gate to food court just below. There are also many restaurants, ice cream parlours nearby also at a walking distance to the Nathan Phillips Square. This is the place to be if you are looking for some impromptu entertainment! If you want to feel the buzzy vibes and chill around, then Yonge-Dundas Square has it for you!

Very Interesting area, great mixture of cultures and friendly zone for the guests visiting the city of Toronto. Love that they have a great stage area and the billboards that are up and running is a great added opportunity for the people to be able to seek out what the city of Toronto has to offer.

One of the best places in Toronto for people watching, grabbing a drink and chill with your friends or by yourself. Theres bike share, movie theatre and the Eaton centre a minute away to name a few. On the weekends theres some event or the other going on and you can see people performing, doing fun photoshoots. It can be a bit touristy though.

Yonge-Dindas square is always electric. It’s not the big animated screens that make it so as much as the people. I never saw anyone in a bad mood there. I hear so many different languages being spoken every few steps. Everyone has their cell phones out snapping pictures. There are plenty of street shows.Stay in the crosswalks and obey the crossing signals. During these Covid times bring your vaccination proof with you. You’ll need it to have a sit down meal.

Basically the Times Square of Toronto, thats a little bigger and wider than the one in NYC. Huge, bright advertisements all around you. Plenty of pictures and selfies opportunities, as well as occasional free music events. Tons of shopping at the Eaton Centre on the west side of the square.

It is such a great main area of the town, when its all lite up and maybe there something going on.... But it seems these days its a big area for the homeless people to hang out and party and dance as there was a random bank playing outside the Eaton centre, none the less it is and hopefully will always be the heart of downtown toronto
