Opened in 1993, this amusement park offers an aquarium with sealife shows, rides & a marina.
Good outing for familyRides are fewer than any other theme parks but roller coaster is one of the best thrills here.
Its a nice and a beautiful play. A delicious food. A nice people. The facility were awesome. Just go there bring extra clothes. Maybe you want to swim in the beach.
Beautiful place but alot humid in summers.. better to visit between September - April.
Id describe this as a scaled down version of Sea World in Florida. It had a lot of similar stuff, but not the premium things. However, it does have some unique things I havent seen before. You can catch your own fish and then bring it to a restaurant where theyll cook it for you. If you want to do some of the special events, like dolphin training, you should get a reservation as early as you can.We went on a weekday in the summer. It wasnt too crowded in the morning, but it got somewhat crowded in the afternoon. Id say theres easily enough to do to spend a whole day there, if you choose to do one or two of the paid activities. We got a pass that included everything except the paid activities, so it was convenient to get into everything.I recommend it if you like aquariums or have small kids.
The place is open to visitors, you only pay for what you want to see or play.
Had the AYCE BBQ! Definitely worth it. 90 minutes but they gave us around 120! Food was fresh and delish!
If you have kids, that you want to keep busy, or just burn off a lot of their daily energy. This is the place to go!! I would rate this for a stroll for the very young, but perfect for ages 2 - 10. Huge In door play area, great food area for everyones taste, fast food style. Amazing world of water fish and other water creatures fun for kids. We spent most of our time in the fun playroom with my 3 year old grandson running from one end of the slides to jungle gyms to trampolines, all protected as best as possible so there are no accidents.
Great place with a good number of rides and shows. Comparatively less crowded, so kids can enjoy a lot of entertainment items in one day. Restaurants are also great with foods of variety and comparatively cheap price. One point of improvement is the long waiting line in front of ticket counter. This could have been be handled better.
Just as a park (forget about the "attractions"it is in a fantastic location and has a great layout. Perfect for late afternoon / dusk walks. Rin Rin loves the wide open spaces. The adjoining park has a sandy beach.
I had sooooo much fun at Hakkejima Sea Paradise‼️OMG‼️Im very happy I went‼️
It closes way too early but the seaquarium was nice and the roller coaster was really funParking is 1500 yen for the whole day and short walk to the park itself. definitely recommend to purchase your tickets in advance because the line was super long. They have a discount for your birthday and you can use it on your birthday month...Have fun!
So many things to do, its all day experience, and everything was top notch, especially the aqua show with the walrus and dolphins! The kids really enjoyed themselves. We will be returning soon!!
I have visited here two times. One is that I was a bachelor and with my girlfriend.Another is with my kids. This is a perfect place for single and family!Furthermore, you may see Mt.Fuji from here if it is sunny day.
I thought I wouldn’t appreciate this place and yet I did. The park has a lot to offer. There are opportunities to interact with the captive animals, not just viewing them in their cage from afar like in other parks. I fed and rubbed the belly of a capybara. I shook hands with an otter (although the otter was just after the food on my palm haha). The shows were at the same level or even more than that of Ocean Park. I will definitely go back there this time around with my pets (the park is pet-friendly)!
Either driving or public transport is recommended. You may enjoy the dolphins show and something casual there if you have no interest in amusement facility. Otherwise you will surely be pleased by the roller coaster. They serve different kinds of food including outdoor BBQ as well so it is a good place to spend time with family.
A nice escape from normal aquariums, this place is more than just an aquarium, it also has lots of different animals, amusement park, and a good number of restaurants and shops. Greta for families or if you just want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city
Great places to go with the family!!! Many activities to do and all beautiful aquarium and other attractions, Dolphins show & more!!Also can fish your own lunch and dinnerGreat time with the family and don’t have to go crazy expensive to have a good time
while Ill always wish spaces for the animals were bigger, this aquarium is quite large and has something for everyone. most things has some English translation. plenty of bathrooms and drink vending machines throughout. not a lot of benches for those may may need to sit often. after you enter the aquarium it will take you through the usual fish, crab, and other sea things, walrus, polar bear, seals,.. then to birds outside but mostly shaded, with a chance to feed the fish. then a small Prarie area for Prarie dogs, the hand holding gates are locked. keep walking yo a bridge overlooking the show pools then walk down some steps for the shows. even if no shows are due soon the whales and dolphin are stick visible. 32$ for one adult, if you take your time its well worth it.
Ive been here 2 years ago and today is my second visit! Special discount for foreigners living in Japan, just search "hakkeijima foreigner"! Pretty worth the price considering you have the best of both worlds aquarium and pleasure land.Due to corona, you need to either reserve tickets online or get your numbered ticket online. Numbered ticket means you can queue to buy ticket during the specified timeslot. Queue was still long even though they specified timeslots.
Went for the year end countdown party, it was a lot of fun. There was a great fireworks display and got to see the sunrise. The rollercoaster and other rides are fun, and the aquarium was real nice. But since I was there at night, most of the animals were asleep. Got to see a whale shark! Please note, that I was there from 12:00am to 7:00am, so I actually dont know how this place operates during the day. I did have a good time though.
its good for just roaming around no entrance fee, fees are only when you enter the show area and when riding the rides.
This aquarium is pretty cool. Much better than I was expecting. Plenty of things to see and do. The restaurant’s had good food and the lines moved fast despite all the people. I mistakenly came on a Japanese holiday. We’ll scratch that off as a lesson learned. Overall I’d say it was a good experience and I look forward to going back again.
Most of the park has old rusty feeling, but I enjoyed the dolphin show and the small cruiser trip, the rest is decent.
The aquarium is perfect for a date with your significant other or a day out with the kids. There is plenty to see in the aquarium with multiple areas to explore. The theme park also offers a variety of rides and attractions, but note, besides 2 or 3 rides, this is primarily geared towards kids.Minus one star for a lack of reasonably priced food options (every option in or near the park is marked up and low quality), and because the main stage’s dolphin and whale show is rather short and lackluster.
Great aquarium with rides all part of the day pass. We enjoyed it a lot. One hour out of Tokyo by train.
The roller coaster is amazing. The attraction is so cool ❤️.The most impressive moment >> When Im touching beluga, its so gentle mammal 🥰
Best Location for a one day trip, the entry ticket is also cheap where you can get 500yen offer if you take your passport along with, both dry and water games were good and the highlight was dolphin show, never miss that it will be in the evening mostly.
Not so crowded when we went so its a good thing. Huge park with great aquarium views and rides. Had a great time here!
Great place to enjoy. Better than Disneyland. Less crowd , kids can get all rides with just 5 min wait. All the show / rides etc included in the tkt. No tkt for kids less than 4 years old.
Could easily spend a whole day here. A must for sea-life lovers. The pass that allows you on everything is well worth it. Rides, shows, pet and feed Dolphins, wide range of food, very easy to get to via train and good for both young and old. While the"night pass" from 4pm onwards is much cheaper youll soon realise you dont quite have time to enjoy all there is to offer!
Entrance is free!!!!!Nice place to spend family time. Budget friendly. I only spent around 2,000¥ for both me and my 3rd grade. They name it Nakayoku set. That includes 5 selected rides. Thats it, just 2000¥ for both your child and 1 parent. For those who wants to come unlimited for one yr, I recommend buying the annual pass (5,000-7000¥). The annual pass is also bundled with the unlimited visit to the Aquarium.I recommend riding the roller coaster, Sky tower, and skydrop for adults. The foodcourt has many variety of food choose from without having to line up. May cost you around 1000¥ for a ramen set.But if you go outside of the food court, there is a restaurant I recommend going to, a buffet style that entitles you for unlimited food course for only 1,500¥ for kids and 2,300¥ for adults. That is unlimited food and desert! Definitely worth going!Or you can bring food or tent inside the if you just want to roam around and spend nothing. There is also a Yokohama Cosmoworld nearby to checkout as well.
Sea Paradise consists of Four areas plus one.1. Aqua museum. This is the main aquarium. There are three kinds of shows to be seen here.A. The movie on the 5th floor.B. The sardines illusion on the 1st floor. Really something that Ive never seen in other aquariums.C. The outdoor performance on the 4th floor. Loved the dolphins! The exhibits are nice and enough to intrigue.2. Fureai lagoonFureai means touch. This is a place where you get to touch some of the animals! Its also the place where outdoor shows take place. We watched a show where a sea lion painted the words of the new era "Reiwa".3. Dolphin Fantasy. A little waste of time. Theres a lot of product advertisements. The inner big chamber only contained some squids. You can see dolphins in the outer chamber. You probably will only spend 5 or ten minutes at most.4. Umi Farm.I did not go in but its a place for you to do some fishing. If you can, try to find the schedule of the shows so that you can plan the visit properly.5. Rides. The unlimited rides with the museum is only additional 2000 yen or 3000 yen without. I did not go on the rides as I was bringing my toddler. The rides are all around the area.I reached at about 12 and left about 5pm.Theres a food shop near the entrance that sells decent food and snack. Soup Yaki soba was something I have never seen before but its actually quite good.Theres a food court inside and Marion crepes (from Harajuku fame). The place is very spacious and very good to bring kids. My wife who wasnt very keen on visiting an aquarium in the first place said the place surprised her and she would want to bring our kids in the future.
A great place to view the ocean, and you can walk around the area for free.We got the full pass to the amusement park and aquarium but it might be cheaper to just pay for the rides you want. There arent that many to choose from. The aquarium is pretty small, some of the animals looked really unhappy in their isolated cages. Id much prefer to go to a larger aquarium, like the ones in Osaka or Okinawa, that is contentious of the mental health of their animals.
Great place to visit. I thought it was just an aquarium but it was a whole amusement park experience. There are rides and games, shows, movies and a variety of aquatic life to experience!
A great aquarium but a little on the pricey side once you get in there. Most of the rides are pay as you go. Buying a day pass only gets you a discount on a lot of the better rides.
Visually gorgeous. You can get very close to really cool animals. Theyve got a huge variation of sea creatures, big and small. Certainly worth the cost of admission.
Amazing! Theme park + Aquarium! It cost ¥5050 for one person (cheaper on Klook if you book in advanced!First time going so didn’t know what to expect. There was one major rollercoaster ( q max 60 minwait and the rest was shows, children rides and aquarium! Everything was in Japanese but we still enjoyed it! View was amazing aswell!
This place has 4 aquariums and a great amusement park. The place is near seashore distant from city noises, which adds to its plus points. They offer great variety of aquatic animals and a spectacular Dolphin show in Aqua Museum. You can even touch some of these animals in Fureai Lagoon Aquarium. one can enjoy fishing and eating thise fishes on the spot in Umi Farm. There is a cylindrical aquarium in Dolphin Fantasy, but its not that great. Rides are awesome, give a fantastic view from top.
Best thing we did is booked online ticket for new year event... aqua museum, dolphin show, rides, comedy show, band performance, countdown & fireworks along with whole night entry to aqua park was pleasing. If you are planning go for it.
Beautiful aquarium explaining about the Eco system of the underwater. Also lot of species of fishes including sharks and jelly fishes and sea lions. Dolphin and sea lion show was great. They have rides too like free fall and roller coaster, tower and the ship etc which are good and are covered in the pass
Various types of water animals. Dolphin show. Best sunrise view point. Roller coaster ride and various types of rides to enjoy. Best place to celebrate New year.
Been here on a rainy day. I still enjoyed the aquariums and several shows because they are indoor. Recommended to be taken as a while day tour. You can do sort of things here.
Its an amazing place to spend a whole day along with family.Simplest thing to do is to buy a day pass and enjoy the whole day. There are lot of amazing rides along with beautiful fish museum and a brilliant Dolphin show. This is a must visit tourist attraction if you are nearby Yokohama or Tokyo. We enjoyed most of the rides and attended the morning Dolphin show and evening show.
Loved almost everything about this place! Wonderful aquatic exhibits, and probably the most variety of animals Ive seen at an aquarium. There is even an area where there are animals roaming free but its not a petting zoo - you can just observe them without disturbing. Even the food was good.
A great day out, great dolphin pool where the dolphins swim above you. Parking is ¥1200 per day. Be prepared to walk just to enter the park. Wait times for the rides is quite long. Big Blue only has two cars of the 6 have worked for the past couple of years. Wait time is usually 30 to 40 minutes. The roller coaster is good, but again, wait times can be pretty long, during busy times. It thins out just vefore thd park closes though. The animals seem to be well looked after and content with their enviroment.
Very busy on holidays, it’s my second time there , and the good feeling is same as I walk into the big aquarium. A lots of colorful fishes, sharks . penguins . Dolphins show is a must watch .
One of the best weekend drive away ..Mammals dance.. is worst to be paid for.Blue fall is place where u fall free to feel the fall at death..Aquva ride is kind of okay but still few seconds to be good at least. The amazing the amaze is blue fall.. dont miss it
Wonderful place, must visit at least once. Acqrium is worth to visit, live shows which are hosted is amazing, excellent effort by these guys. If you like fishing then you can visit farm in sea paradise. There are are wonderful roller coster and blue fall games are available for thrilling experience. You can even enjoy many shows. If you are hungry dont worry there are several restaurants are availble. You can even walk around and enjoy sea beauty. You can even enjoy steamer and other water rides. Perfect place for a full day.
The park is pretty big, we only opted for the aquarium ticket, which also included 3 other places to visit within the park. That cost 3k and was money well spent, we didnt choose to also go to the theme park simply because we have a toddler and couldnt go on most of the rides. The aquarium was well designed, I didnt like seeing a polar bear there given how much they like to roam, but thats the hypocrite in me visiting a marine park.Other attractions include an area where you can feed and touch dolphins, seals, pilot whales - just but the tickets to those parts early as there is a cap on tickets - naturally they can only consume so much / day. There are plenty of restaurants and ice cream parlours located around the park, its so refreshing not to have huge crowds and be queueing for everything.
good place to go and walk by. Kinda sad see those animals there, but it is what it is. Btw, place had entrance free, you just pay in case you want to get in one of the aquariums!
