Yocco's The Hot Dog King - Hot dog restaurant in Allentown, United States
Purchased 8 hot dogs today with everything. There was about as little of sauce as you could put on a dog. For 1.99$, you guys could do a lot better. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
Hot dogs were over cooked. Hamilton Street restaurant is much better.
Fast friendly service and as always the hot dogs with everything are our favorite.Don’t forget a order of pirogies.
I have an unhealthy obsession with this place, everything is so good and the employees are always super sweet. Best hotdogs in the Lehigh valley for sure, amazing pierogies and everything is reasonably priced. Next to no wait even on bigger orders and employees are willing to accommodate whatever requests you have. Love this place.
I know prices are up but almost 10 dollars for 2 dogs, sm fry and a chocolate milk is more than a little pricey it is plain ridiculous.
This place is legendary. I always stop when I am in the area.
Three straight times Ive gone here and the prices are not worth the food, which tasted like dishwaster. Even the most diehard Yocco fans I know have to admit its decline
We were visiting from Florida and the cashier was very nice! However, hot dogs are not the best like it is advertised lol
Hot dog buns were disintegrating because they came out sopping wet, cheeseburger was inedible, fries were old, cold, and unsalted. Last 2 visits couldnt have been more disappointing. This place used to be solid! Onion rings were great, though!
The hot dogs are still the same, but they changed the rolls, from Valeos to someone else. Too much dough on the ones you use now!!! They take away from the doggie.
Yocco’s really is the king of hot dogs! A friend kept talking them up and I thought “yeah yeah yeah…it’s hot dogs” but during a run to Shangy’s we stopped and well, he was right! The chili sauce is outstanding, the dogs were cooked to perfection and the pirogies were also perfectly done. Stopped again a couple days ago for the same experience! This time got three doggie packs and some extra chili! You get a free hot dog with every doggie pack, too! Wolfed down those three dogs in like 90 seconds flat!! 😀
My hot dog roll did not look or feel fresh. My hot dog was hard and burnt and did not look like it was being turned on the grill. And honestly they did not taste good even our non burnt one. Wish they would change hot dog brands. Potts is much better. Not returning.
They are the best hotdogs ever. My friend Gloria and I used stop there all the time whenever we were in Allentown.
The young clerks kept talking with each other while I was giving them my order. Really rude behavior. My order wasnt complex or difficult but I guess the conversation they were having was too important to wait until my order was finished. When I walked up to the countertop I wasnt greeted by anyone at all. It was three young ladies. The food was pretty good.
Great dogs. And a small drink is actually small, not a 400 calorie gut buster. 100 year anniversary!
Love the hot 🔥dogs now the prices not so much
Iconic local hot dog joint...for some an acquired taste. Food was on point this time...as it is most times. I did find the hanging of a handwritten sign stating to "use your playground voice, were not playing charades" rude and distasteful.
Super quick service, fixed the way you want it and by courteous, friendly staff. Great hotdogs!!
Horrible customer service, place has gone down hill. My hotdog was cold bun was stale thankfuly the musturd saved it enough to atleast fill my stomach
Nah. I wouldnt re-visit. In which most cases I usually do but this was a special kind of "one star treatment". We grade our visits which is a true reflection of the quality or service we received. I ordered a fish sandwich and when asked what I wanted on it my reply was lettuce tomato and mayonnaise. The nature of their "no" response left me baffled. I was handed tarter sauce packets instead. The fish sandwich was a low quality Pollock which when opened up look less than appetizing and the bread looked tired, like really tired, like it ran a "three mile race" kind of tired. I usually dont leave really long negatives but sorry Yocco team, but this location needs a lot of love and more than just in the kitchen.
Great service and clean presentation, you havent lived until youve had a cheese dog with everything!
Cheesesteak was good, comes with chili on it which was interesting. Decent good, no long wait for food.
Hot dogs are skinny, rolls are dry sauce is salty they should go back to the original hot dogs they served
If you havent eaten Yoccos you havent lived. Tasty hot dogs, French fries, burgers, Etc. Love going here!
Enough with the covid b/s ! Three tables to sit at and all occupied. Wouldnt open another one so my family could sit. Time to switch over to Potts in Nazareth.
I can say I ate there. I can say it is likely Ill never eat there again. The hot dogs may have been original from 95 years ago. The chili was minimal at best. I think there was one piece of onion on the hot dog. The only reason it got 2 stars, it was clean and the French fries were fresh and hot. But even those were store bought frozen fries. No need to go there.
I had some good dogs today. A few years ago I tossed them in the trash. They were that horrible. But yoccos are the best. So I gave them another try
013122 enjoyed three Yoccos hotdogs with well done French Fries
Have been out of the extra large drinks lately, other than that food is good. Definitely a must try if you havent.
The good: the coke and the friesThe bad: the hamburger - shouldnt bother to offer hamburgers when they taste like a frozen cafeteria leftover. Really its a hamburger, maybe make them fresh instead. The dogs: tried these 4 years ago when we moved here. Wasnt sold then, still not sold on them now. Had the chili cheese with everything. Cheese and everything under the dog, but might as well have been left off for all that it added. The chili sauce: You know when you make chili and all you have left is whats stuck to the pan, thats what this was like, and then it was whiffed over the top of the crunchy dog. When I think of a chili cheese dog and youre the Hot Dog King, I think of a full of flavor mess Im likely to wear. This was the opposite of that and now cant get the taste out of my mouth. Glad others like it, but its not for me. Not 4 years ago and not now either.
The hot dog "Yoccos way" is always tasty and the chili sauce stays put. The perogis were salted as if they were fries. Unnecessary. Would like to be able to add a dipping of sour cream for them. The birch beer is also a treat.
Food was good as usual. My 4 year o OJg.d was with my son and i.She ordered an everything dog. Even with a facial/mouth injury she wanted it so bad.She gave it two thumbs up, and thats GOOD!Foods always ready very quickly, never got a wrong order or shortage ever!
I love the food. My favorite hotdogs is the Everything hotdog because it has mustard, onions, and a secret recipe Chilli sauce. It is delicious. Highly recommended.
If youre not ordering a double dog, what the heck are you doing with your life??
Fast service as always. This is one of the yoccos that takes cards which I like as I don’t always have cash. Love the dogs and cheesesteaks and pierogies. Been eating yoccos all my life.
I love yaccos. Cant go wrong with a hot dog and some pirogies. Theyre fast line is never too long. Onion rings are great too 👌
Our first time after hearing about these dogs for a long time. The flavor was real good. And being able to get just two pierogies was awesome. Delicious.
Havent been back to the Lehigh Valley in years but would not pass up the chance to get to Yoccos. It is priority one! We have a really great lunch and "Love the dogs"!! Stocked up on chili sauce to bring back to Oklahoma, packed in ice it stayed fresh on the trip.
By far the "best dogs in the valley" moniker is controversial. I am a Yoccos fan, my buddy is a Potts fan. I KNOW the slop of chili, cheese, onions, and mustard is hardly presentable! I KNOW the taste may be a bit "blander" for some people! But for me, its the right mix of tasty goodness! Pair that with the perogies and its the perfect lunch! A big plus at lunch is the fact that they move that line QUICK! So dont be deterred by a long line!
I do not know how this place recieved this many positive reviews, These hot dogs sucked, ask for a cheese dog and I figured I would get a hot dog with creamy cheese sauce as it should be, nope got a piece of cheese under the hot dog, Got a chili dog..... chili looked like its been sitting and its not that famous if you ask me. Got a mushroom cheese steak also figuring Iam not that far from philly maybe the cheesteak is the best thing on menu...... Nope, chopped up hamburger with a slice of cheese and canned mushrooms, I would pass on this....
I used to like this place, but the quality has declined too far. The hotdogs used to be so good, but there is something different with the rolls. Compared to the ones they used to use, these new ones are dry, tasteless, and overall disappointing. Needless to say, I wont be back anytime soon.
Never been in the restaurant as my husband is the one who picks them up, so I can’t comment on the restaurant or service itself. But everything about these hot dogs is PERFECTION. Hot dog is flavorful. Chili is awesome. Cheese is melty and adds great texture. Mustard and onions really take it over the top. At first glance it looks questionable but this is my favorite hot dog of all time!!!
Went out of my way to visit this place because, MSNs loveFood listed it as "The best hot dog joint in your state." Very disappointed. Hot dog was chewy and lacked flavor, ditto the fries. Fortunately I went myself to test their dogs before bringing family and friends.
Favorite place to go for hot dogs and theyre cheesesteaks are amazing. There yoccos sauce is hands down the best in the valley. Always fast service literally this specific time I went i stood for a total of 3 minutes turned around after paying to my bags being handed to me.
Never left a review on google but came on here just for this. My girlfriend and I haven’t been here before; walked in and as we were looking at the menu a female employee (the one with blue colored hairasked us 3 times what we wanted and seemed pretty frustrated at us. We had been there less than 5 minutes...another employee then asked us what we wanted to drink and I said we hadn’t ordered our food yet. She said it didn’t matter and that we ordered drinks separately through her. They continued to rush us until we basically panic ordered because we were so uncomfortable. When they brought our food out she handed us a bag and said only part of our order, so we waited another five minutes for the rest of our food standing there until they finally said it was all in that one bag. We both left literally saying we felt attacked. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry my whole life and have never felt compelled to leave a review until now. If hostile rushed service is your thing check this place out.
Thank goodness the food is still relatively the same as it always was, because if they had to rely on their service to keep customers, theyd be out of business.Went on a Sunday evening around 5:45pm with my son. The manager was working the grill and completely ignored us because he was having a personal conversation with the young lady working to his left. This same young lady was the person who brought our bagged order over to us. She set it on the counter and, again, was too busy having a conversation with a different coworker to acknowledge us. I asked if this was our entire order and she replied "yeah, thats the whole order", and went right back her conversation. How hard is it to teach these employees the value of simple customer service? The fact that the manager shared the same attitude was very disappointing. If lazy, disrespectful attitudes disturb you, I would recommend you go elsewhere.
Ive been going to yoccos, average once a week my whole life. And will continue. There hot dogs are the reason I eat hot dogs. They have achieved perfection in my opinion. Over the years tried other menu items and it was always great, service is fast and courteous. Thanks for getting it right
Pathetic amount of chili on dog. After living near the Lehigh Valley for 18 years I thought it was about time I get to Yoccos hot dogs. I was incredibly disappointed. I dont know what the fuss is or how this could be a local chain. The chili dog barely had any chili on it. Im expecting a river of chili like I get in Jersey. It tasted fine and the fries were okay but I dont see what the fuss is and why I would have any reason to ever go back.
I liked the inside. Plenty of places to sit down... Nice space for the condiments, great counter for ordering but the hot dogs themselves were pretty underwhelming. Maybe I went on a bad day? They seemed thin, burnt (not in a good way), and dry. Alot of people seem to love it but Ive had a much better hot dog just grilling Nathans at home.
Chili cheese dogs and pierogie. Dont mess with anything else. Well, get a birch beer. Theres a reason they are the hot dog king. The other food is okay, but that should not be bothered with. Be warned, cash only!
