Stopped here for a lunch and we had a great view over the waterfall. Food was good as well and not a too busy place

If you have kids this is a definite stop. Lots of space to run and play. Gorgeous views with Howick falls in the background. Delicious, fresh and tasty food. Great service from the staff!

Disappointing is a understatement. Sad food. Terrible service. Waited an hour for water. My daughters chips was dry and stale. As if it was re heated or defrosted and left out for hours before frying. The owner sits and does nothing when there is clearly unhappy clients all around. Payment is almost impossible because of internet connection. So take cash. Eventually left because our brownies never arrived.

Warm, fresh, softly delectable scrummy scone, served with strawberry jam and cream, and a pot of tea ... Perfect way to end a glorious day in beautiful Howick!

Good but not wonderful. The chips needed higher temperature to be crisp and cooked. . The fish was alright.

HOWICKS HIDDEN GEMOne of the most tranquil settings on the beautiful old Fairfell Farm with views overlooking the Howick Falls. The House was built in 1870 and stone that was quarried on the farm was used to build the beautiful homestead. All the wood is mainly Yellowwood that came from the Yellowwood indigenous forests in the Karkloof.A wide range of great food at exceptionally reasonable prices. Services was attentive and efficient. All and all a great experience and stunning venue rich in history.

I absolutely loved having breakfast at this spot. The meals are a affordable and are good portions. Peaceful and quiet with a lovely view.

Lovely place with sufficient food. The service could be a bit faster, waited a while for a simple sandwich.

Theres been some improvements done on the place since I last visited. Its a great place to go to with kids. Sitting space has been extended and theres plenty of playing equipment. The food is still delish as always 😋

Lovely setting from which you can view the iconic Howick Falls. A good play area for children mainly of a jungle gym variety. Some attention to the access road would helpful. It is however remarkable how the roads in Howick have improved in the last 6 months. Change makes a difference.

This place is quite pleasant. And thinking about it, its nice for the whole family, theres animals to look at and feed, jungle gyms, paintball/laser tag, nice food and a decent view.

The restaurant has been nicely upgraded with beautiful views over the very full Howick Falls. The lunch was very good with my whole family enjoying their meals. Definitely worth visiting.

The venue is delightful. Unfortunately the service and one of our meals left a lot to desire. Waitresses appeared to be doing you a favour, reluctantly too. The chicken schnitzel was so thin and dry. As was said, the only thing making it edible was the sauce. A real pity.

I have said it before. But Yellowwood cannot be topped because of its views of the Howick Falls. Especially when the Falls are in full voice after the summer rains. Children will love the miniature donkeys . And the space. And the food is really good. Even their curry😊

I love the Meander for its tranquility and peace of mind. I have visited a lot of restaurants in my time but Yellowwood Cafe comes up on top for great food and set on a majestic mountain that takes you back in time... Great service and would be definitely back...

It was ok. Positives: extensive kiddies play area and bike trails for the little ones. The miniature horses and donkeys are adorable. There is a lush lawn and ample seating. But: The food was ok, but underwhelming. Service was ok, could have been better. This is such a beautiful venue with an old stone house (old enough to have been declared a national monument), gorgeous lane of yellowwood trees along the entry path, breathtaking garden with tall lush trees at the entrance... and then the rest leaves one underwhelmed. Do not expect a spectacular view of the waterfall. Expect to be placated by several placards instructing you what not to do. Perhaps more energy has been put into the function venue.

Animals and view of the waterfall are very nice, but the jungle gym needed some TLC and sitting inside due to the cold was like being at a different place all together. It was not cozy but cold, silent and uninviting ... food was ok.Not a great experience sad to say....

Great atmosphere and perfectfor families with kids. Good food although very limited vegetarian options. But I guess thats the norm.

Most beautiful view of Howick Falls from this outdoor Café 😍 the baby animals are a showstopper. The breakfast menu caters to each persons needs and portions so I enjoyed my Mini Go Breakfast😁

The food was great, the atmosphere and surroundings very tranquil. The animals and jungle gym make this a fantastic venture to bring the kiddies, and you can even see the Howick waterfall from here.Very impressed with how management dealt with a minor issue, can highly recommend this as one of your Midlands stops!Oh, and very strict Covid measures and social table distancing makes for great peace of mind!

Bring the kids they can pet some animals while you have a quiet lunch. Currently really a great experience as you watch the Howick falls with full water going over. Remember the treats for the little ponies Dinkins and sheep and if you are lucky the zebra too.

Negative. - They were not busy when we went, but the service was slow and their special stir fry was dreadful.Positive - masks were worn by all staff, your temperatures is taken on arrival and sanitizer is available before you are seated. The burgers and chips were great and so were the milkshakes and chicken avo tramazini.Beautiful view of Howick falls in the distance, great play area for kids with animals to feed.

What lovely setting for both an indoor and outdoor restaurant. The view looking directly towards Howick falls is beautiful. This is an old building with lots if charm. Kids party? Not a problem. Dining on benches under trees your idea of fun. Go here. Need the seclusion of an indoor eatery? They cater for this too. Want to do a breakfast run on Sunday with some biker friends? Youll be welcome. Great place

Friendly staff, lovely cup of coffee very well priced. Great play area for children, miniature horses, donkeys and a lovely mohair goat in the peting area.

What gorgeous views of the falls and the house was beautiful inside and out. Friendly tiny ponies and donkeys. Food was very well prepared and large portions. Service very friendly and quick.

Once in a life time experience, we recieved 5 star treatment from the second we walked in, even the animals gave us a stellar treatment. Food was lovely and fresh and wholesome. The setting was just moving and the day was a perfect one just out of a novel, with the valley in the distance, sunny skies, smiles and laughter all round. Must recommend for families with kids who enjoy they kids interacting with animals or want them to overcome their fears of animals. Another tip would be to bring apples or carrots for the miniature donkeys, ponies, goats, sheep and pigs.

A beautiful place to have a function or just bring loved ones for a delicious meal. The staff are friendly and helpful. The manager is always around to check that everything is to your liking. I highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday afternoon at Yellowood Cafe where they had a great Craft Beer and Gin day. Lovely atmosphere with great beers,rum and gins. Many flavours to choose from.

Food was average, staff were mute, no interaction, awesome tasting Cappuccino just its in a tea cup. Nice setting, and animals for the kids.

This is an especially great restaurant for taking the kids. Lots of jungle gyms and an awesome animal farm that looks over Howick Falls. Superb food and stunning outdoor setting while you lunch.
