Yarrahapinni Lookout - Museum in Kempsey, Australia
Lovely lookout looking south at the tower, lovely drive up the mountain through rainforest.
We walked Sea to Summit, 12km from Middle Head up forest trails to Yarriabini lookout. You could also go for a trail run, or mountain bike (downhill). Glorious view from the picnic spot. Gpx tracks on our website CoffsTrails
What a sensational lookout definitely worth the drive up forestry have done a great job to make the lookout very appealing.
Fantastic views over Stuarts Point, South West Rocks and out beyond Crescent Head. There is also picnic tables and a toilet, if you want to take time to take in the scenery.
11 km of unsealed roads to get there. Can be done in a non-FWD if taken slowly. Worth the effort with spectacular views. We saw a Wompoo Fruit Dove. The picnic tables were in excellent condition if you took something to eat. Drop toilet was usable. 😉
Good gravel road to the lookout, the views are amazing!
A favorite spot, lots of fire trails to explore and of course the view is spectacular
Fantastic view.
Beautiful view from coast to hinterland of Macleay Valley. Easily accessible
Great place to visit. Excellent views
Just needs another viewing area at the very top of the mountain
The Rainforest and lookout are amazing, such a peacefully tranquil place to visit.
From Yarrahapinni Lookout you can clearly see iconic townships located to the south - including South West Rocks and Hat Head. Yarrahapinni Lookout has some seating and a bench. An excellent viewing platform. The cleanest outdoor toilet that weve ever visited. Parking for about 20 vehicles. This place is best accessed via a car - unsealed road all the way. You can also walk to this spot - but, be aware that it would take a few hours to walk from outside the national park to this area. Located about 800 metres along the road from the main lookout is the Yarrahapinni TV & radio transmission masts - it is worth walking or driving to this location - Another good view - you can see the south-west area- including the new Pacific Highway.
Beautiful spot! Well maintained and not crowded.
Nice view
Not a museum but a great place for a picnic nonetheless
You must see this!
The drive up from Scotts Head Rd and into the picnic area are spectacular. A must see in this area.
Its great we loved it
Good view
beautiful view, needed more seats and shaded spots
Beautiful lookout, the road is a little rough in places but worth it, good if youre driving a 4wd
Best view in the world
Beautiful drive if You have a 4x4. Not sure about taking a 2wd up there, lots of big ruts and potholes. Nice look out at the top.
Very good spot to get a great view to to East and South, on a clear day you can see past Mount Yarrahapinni.
Am amazing view. You can see all the way to South West Rocks and Kempsey. What a beautiful part of the world. I would recommend anyone visiting to come up here and taking it in. Especially after a bit of rain and everything is green.I definitely suggest coming in a four wheel drive. The road to the eastern side leading to the Scotts head exit would be brutal on a regular car.Enjoy!
Strange aboriginal art pleasant spot worth a look.
Beautiful drive through the NP to the lookout. Unfortunately it was cloudy and raining. Certainly needed the 4WD.
Nice little drive need a 4wd though
What an amazing spot buy the best outlooks on the coast over looking beaches... lots of butterflies
Easy 4wd track with beautiful views
Great view but the dirt road up is a bit rough. Seen a big Goanna up here also.
Nice views over stuarts point.
