Yardarm - Bar in Boise, United States
A nice little outdoor bar tucked away from it all.
Best beach bar in Boise. Sand and a "boat" food truck with killer burritos!
Great atmosphere with good food.
Stellar food, nice shade and great live music. Perfect for after boating grub and bevie🤘
Yardarm is a really neat stop. It’s 21 and over, and tucked behind a wall. You’ll find an open area with a bar and seating (not quite enough). It’s dog friendly and my pup was able to sprawl out under my feet. It seemed like there were water bowls available for dogs. There’s also a boat that’s been converted into a taco stand. I enjoyed my visit but only give 4 stars due to lack of seating and the average tacos.
Wonderful outdoor place for beer wine and food. Dogs allowed.
Im not a beer drinker, so I cant tell you whats on tap. The p held I go with love it. I drink ciders. Theres a taco truck on the premises. Nice misting units. Best for a hot night
First time experience and was very cool!
Great spot next to the river. Also, amazing tacos!
A really fun Taco stand in a boat. Nice place to cool down as they have water spritzers overheard to cool you down during the summer time.
Omgosh, such a great place to hang out at, I loved it ❤️
A really cool spot. Dog friendly and good vibe!
Just read smokin around bad review. He is a tool! Maybe he should go back to Cali! This place is a hidden gem! N yes dogs are great addition!
Awesome place. Wish there was more shaded seating. The food is also delish!
Very friendly staff! Nice open space yard! Tasty beers but a bit pricy for an afternoon! They should be on happy happy hours! I had a nice wheat beer! It was a good experience after all! It is recommended!
Great location in the greenbelt with a good beer selection including craft beer on draft with good prices. Certainly should anticipate crowds on the weekend and during good weather. Definitely a perk to have the taco boat on site!
Great place, very beachy, and fun!
Totally enjoyed a quick trip while our bike ride on the greenbelt. Good variety of local beers (and cideron tap and canned options for a good price! We enjoyed the atmosphere and the water Misters kept it cool and refreshing in the heart of the summer! Everyone had such a chillaxed vibe. Definitely going back to enjoy the food truck, which is an old boat that serves a good variety of fish tacos!!
So I have not actually been here,, This is a bar just feet off of Boises greenbelt and literally just down the steps from a lady friends house. " We like to people watch from the balcony considering it is directly below her balcony. Its rather extraordinary,, a beach type motif built out of a container !With a sand pit and an old boat that dishes out the groceries... P.S. The container actually folds up every night and transforms from a beach bar,,, to a shipping container ! A COOL JOINT.
Great location next to the whitewater park. Cool crowd and great staff. Beer and tacos, what else do you need?
Great atmosphere and good vibes. I love the tacos, drinking great beers and being able to walk on the river. Can swim, surf or paddle board in and out. Love this place.
I didnt think I would ever experience such great beach vibes in Boise, Idaho. The Mahi Mahi tacos really rocked my world.
How can anyplace be cooler? Surf shack in Boise ... Almost on the Boise River .. I rode my grunge era bike .. btw not a taco truck; a taco boat; absolutely love it!
I Grew up in San Diego and I definitely get that Pacific Beach So cal vibe down there and I love it. Great place to chill out and relax for a while. Plus the boat that serves as a taco truck is pretty awesome. 🤙
The people are great, beer selection is awesome prices are very reasonable the food, well the food was a little off...street corn was cold no flavor. Baja shrimp was very good but a disappointment with the food we have been coming here for years hoping that things get better.
If the Yardarm is open its summer time! Always a fun place to hang out for a bit and grab some tasty tacos and enjoy the misters on a hot day. Not a huge tap selection but still some good choices and there are plenty of other options in the cooler.
Great ‘lil spot by the greenbelt where the surfers are. Cool owner, chill vibe, & they got tacos!
Went here with my wife while on vacation. Loved the vibes. Great drink prices and beers on tap! The guy serving us was awesome. Will return next trip!
Definitely our favorite destination when riding bikes on the greenbelt on a warm day. The truck makes delicious food and the beer is always tasty and cold, which is always refreshing.
I am giving 5 stars. Because I would like to support any local business that is going through economic strife throughout this pandemic. We all want to be the solution, not contribute to the problem, although I had an unsettling welcome from what seemed to be the owner/manager. I have to admit it was mine and my boyfriend’s fault for walking past a “please wait to be seated” sign without notice to the gentleman. We walked past the sign because we had friends who had already gotten a table and we came late to the party. As soon as we walk in, the same gentleman walked up to the two of us and yelled “how did you two get in here? Didn’t you see the sign? We’re not supposed to have over a party of 6 in one table!” It was very audible that every table in the patio was staring at us. And I have to say, it wasn’t this gentleman’s voicing out his frustration (which is understandablethat made us feel unwelcome, but rather the manner which he did it that brought about everyone’s attention that practically felt very ostracizing. I have never felt this embarrassed in my whole life at a restaurant. With a low, calm voice, I apologized to this man and he walked out on us. I understand. Because my whole career living in Los Angeles my business was all about building relationships with local restaurant owners/managers and I know people like you work very hard to keep your business afloat. You were in the heat of the moment and did not want to escalate things any further. But I don’t know what I heard exactly, but he indirectly yelled saying we could complain about this on Yelp like everybody else does. The whole 20 minutes of us there, I tried to catch this man’s eye so I could walk up to him and personally apologize, introduce myself and catch his name, so I could maybe lighten up the mood and maybe crack a joke with him and ask him about this neat little place’s backstory, because it was very down to earth. But it seemed like I couldn’t get a chance. Maybe because the place was moderately busy. The tacos were really good and everybody else working there was down to earth and friendly. So maybe I just caught this man at a bad time. But I understand you’re trying your best to keep this place open and not be a reason to have to close it up again because of a spike in COVID cases. I’m writing this long review and taking my time to do it, because what I’m saying is absolutely genuine and coming from a place of tolerance and understanding. I still do want to come back because the place seemed like something that could grow on me. I did want to get your name before we left and I still do. I wanted to apologize and I don’t want you to have this preconceived idea that we’re one of those customers who complain on Yelp all the time. So here you go.
Love the beach vibe of this place. Incredible tacos, beer and service. Right off the green belt. Great place to hang with friends or a casual meetup. Highly recommend, Cheers.
Love love LOVE this place!! The best spot for beer (+ cider & other canned bevsoff the greenbelt. The most mellow, surfy, baja vibe. Sand floor, driftwood bar top & beachy atmosphere. Every time I walk in I feel like Im off the beaten path somewhere in Mexico. Love it. Delish tacos on site. Dreaming of going back! CHEERS
Sandy shipping container cervezas and soft tacos. With a detailed design, this place takes you to your own private island. Youll see what I mean. The owner is very down to earth and friendly. Hes certainly busy maintaining the place, so try not to big him down with trivial conversation. I think the reason why people have given him some harsh reviews is because they dont understand what its like to run a business.
Great bar! The beer is good, the atmosphere is great, and the food is just awesome. Theres a cool taco truck inside the bar, that makes aamazing elevated street food that is incredibly priced as well. Total bang for your buck. Great place to go to beat the summer heat and mingle with the local neighborhood crowd. Definitely will keep coming back.
Good selection of beers, and theres a taco truck. Awesome place to stop in while riding the greenbelt.
Yardarm has been our instant summer hang out. The drinks are always reasonably priced, and the taco truck food is phenomenal! Sometimes theres limited seating but if youre willing to meet new people, theres always large tables you can share or the bar. Misters are always on on hot days!
Went there last summer. I was very excited because everyone raves about this place. When my wife and went up to the bar to get our first beverage I asked “how much are the beers? We might be here for awhile”. The dude replied “If you have to ask, then maybe you shouldn’t be drinking”. I was a little put off and embarrassed so I said “that’s kinda a dickish thing to say” The reply was “Well I’m the owner, deal with it”. WOW. So, I thought maybe he didn’t like my face. I won’t let it ruin my day. I asked my wife to go up and close the tab. I hung back but could still hear the interaction. He looks through the stack of cards until he finds it near the bottom of the stack. Then he has the audacity to say “looks like you’ve been here awhile, you better tip well”. He was NOT joking. Not fantasy.
I heard about Yardarm from friends whod been there and Ive been wanting to check it out. Really do like what theyve done and the only reason Im not rating it higher is flies were unmanageable. I dont enjoy spending more time scaring flies away than raising my glass.NOTE: Ive lived in Boise for nearly 30 years but I thank you for welcoming me to Boise. I havent experience what I did at other outdoor places like this. In fact, I was at another outdoor bar this week and wasnt bothered by any flies. And this place was within a 1/4 mile of Yardarm. Maybe the Yardarm should put more focus on cleaning around the area. Im sure having the food truck there 24X7 adds to the issue. If you arent willing to try to address the issue the best idea I have is give your patrons a flyswatter. In the mean time, Ill take your advice and visit other places that dont address customer concerns with snarky replies.
Its fine, better beer selection elsewhere in town. Card swipe for a $6 dollar beer prompted a 30, 40 or 50% tip option?!?!? Glad there was a custom option to put in $1. Food truck was good. Need to do something about the flies.
I just experienced this place last night after hearing about it for a long time and they hands down have the best tacos ive had in the treasure valley and for cheap! I was super surprised. I met the owner briefly, very nice guy and has a very cosy, kick backed place. Will be telling everyone I know to try this place.
Great beer and the food truck is awesome! They even had a sour beer on tap which is my favorite. The showers available to the surfers are amazing. Guy let us fill our water jugs for our camper and take showers after surfing. Such a great environment and conversation! I recommend this to anyone passing through Boise and looking for a sweet local spot that is nothing but good vibes and a friendly welcome.
Great spot, dog friendly, next to the river in a thriving area. I have many great things to say about this spot, but Ill keep it short. If youre looking for a new spot to sit and have a drink with a friend (and maybe bring the dog along), give this place a visit. Great experience every time I go and that is not by accident.
Such a fantastic place!!! Atmosphere is always fun. Staff is super friendly. Food truck is the best, Artichoke tacos & burrito are incredible!I would go to this place everyday if I could.Keep up the great work guys!❤️
By far my favorite taco and beer spot in Garden City. Tucked alongside the Greenbelt, this place offers some of the best street corn beer street tacos and Carne asada fries you could imagine. Great vibe. 21+ only
Disregard any 1 or 2 star Google reviews of this authentic one of a kind gem. Those negative reviewers simply got it wrong, didnt read their options on the tip page or had bad attitudes when they arrived. Hey, Im an old Baja & Wood River valley dog who gets it, and this place gets it like no other! I strongly second all the other 4-5 star reviews... Cheers!!
Built from a shipping container and 1,000 pounds of sand, this bar is a true escape from your busy life. Offering beer, wine, and an AMAZING taco truck, the Yardarm feels like youve just stepped out of Boise and into Mexico....oh, did I mention its dog friendly! 😍
Cool spot nice outdoor beer bar with food truck on property. Great people.
One of my favorite places in town. Dog friendly and $2 Modelos $1 if your on Boise beer buddies. Ill be introducing my dog to this place soon.Food truck fish tacos are delish too. Talk to Guy hes the owner. Cool dude! <3 it!
This is the best surfer bar in all of Idaho. The beer is amazing, the tacos are to die for, the ambiance is awesome, but Guy the owner is the best!!! You have go, if you dont your regret it. This ex California girl found her favorite new spot!!!
This is a cool little spot right where folks surf on the river. Theres a taco truck and the food is good. Very chill.
