The park itself is beautiful but the transport system is just terrible, which forces me to give only 1 star. If you go there by car, the parking spaces are very limited. If you go there by public transport, the situation gets worse: bus 108 does a loop inside the park stopping in the main areas to see, but this is a micro bus (maybe 7-10 seatsand on a weekday it passes every 30-45 minutes. This means the bus is always CRAMPED, with a lot of (mostly elderlypeople standing. Either you get in but travel in a very uncomfortable and unsafe way (roads are windy), or you cannot even get in and you are forced to wait for the next bus. Unless you walk (the walking distances between points can sometimes be up to 2h), you end up spending more time waiting for these buses than enjoying the park itself. After taking it once we decided to give up and were lucky enough to get an Uber/Taxi for the next routes. We could see that everyone queuing was as frustrated as we were. Please note that this was on a weekday, it probably gets worse on weekends and also as the number of international tourists goes back to normal after COVID. Other than that, the park is beautiful and the people working at the visitor center are very friendly.

I was there in Feb. This place is full of good vibes. It has sulfur containing hot springs but not allowed to bath. Keep a raincoat and jacket because it’s quite windy and rainy. A lot of things to see and walking and go around in the nature.

Yangmingshan National Park is located between Taipei and New Taipei City. The national park is known for its cherry blossoms, hot springs, sulfur deposits, fumaroles, venomous snakes, and hiking trails, including Taiwans tallest dormant volcano, Qixing (Seven StarMountain (1,120 m). This mountain range was originally called "Grass Mountain" .Yangmingshan National Park has a lower elevation. Even though mountain elevations range from only 200–1120 meters, beautiful landscapes such as ridges, valleys, lakes, waterfalls and basins are abundant.

Park with beautiful landscape, flora, and fauna, sulfur springs, trekking tracts, grassland. You can get geographical information about the formation of mountains and sulfur springs from the tourist information centers. Try to carry a jacket, good pair of shoes, a raincoat, water bottle before going there. Weather is unpredictable. Well connected to public transportation. One of the best natural parks in Taiwan 🇹🇼

Calling nature lovers! If you were to plan an itinerary to visit Taipei, allow 2 days and pick a hotel near the park of your choice of budget, there are as well upscale hotels/resort that offer spring facilities. I personally think March is a pleasant month to visit - catching the final bloom of the Cherry Blossoms while the weather is cool and of course avoiding the crowds (hotel rates are also cheaper).

I hiked alone and it was so peaceful and relaxing along the way as I watch the surroundings. I had to stop to catch my breath as I go up but everytime I do, when i look around, it is breathtaking. I found some colorful lizard along the way. As I was about half a kilometer to Qixingshan, the grass were becoming taller at some areas of the trek and kind of intimidating as I didnt know what to see in the next turn but it was after all safe and I arrived at the peak of Qixingshan. I didnt have enough time for the day to go around other more trails but id definitely love to come back and use those other trails!I would also like to commend Taiwanese people for being kind and friendly to tourists. Some offered to take a photo of me when they saw me climbed up alone.

Beautiful park with great hiking trails and incredible views. If you’re up for a great day of hiking, recommend starting at Xiaoyoukeng Visitor center and hiking to the following spots in order: Mt. Qixing, East Peak, Lengshuikeng (can soak your feet in the hot spring here), Qingtiangang Grasslands. From Qingtiangang, you can catch a bus back to the city.

Hot springs, hiking trails, waterfalls, flowers, grasslands, mountains...It seems that this park have a bit of everything. It might take a long time to see all the places of interest (Its better to plan a full day and also to go in sunny weather as it can get really cloudy otherwise). You can do everything on foot, but there are also a few buses running around the place (From 6:40 to 18:00 approximately (And from what I remember))

The park is huge and beautiful, with many hiking trails to explore. The trails are impossible to miss, and they are marked very well, with signs every 200 m showing your progress. For someone used to hiking, the hike up to Qixing main peak (which is mostly stairstakes 1 h from the visitor center. Each main destination except the peaks has a visitor center with toilets and snacks, and there is a picnic area on the main peak. Even though we went on a foggy day and thus missed the views, it was still worth it, as the nature around is pretty nice.

From Taipei Metro rail, exit Shipai station and catch a bus to Tienmu. You could also walk but might be for more seasoned walker, climber. There is a restaurant serving some of the backyard Vegas and cage free chicken dishes.Stop by the overlook, Half way up the mountain and check out the hot spring and you could smell the sulfurous gas. It’s a must see tourist spot.

Enjoyable hike with nice viewpoints along the way. We went up when there was a typhoon on the way, so there wasn’t a view at the top, but I’m sure it would look great on a sunny day. Buses can take you from Taipei to the National Park, then it’s about an hour hike to the top. Pretty steep, but there are stairs and it is tourist friendly.

This place is truly a worthy hike. Its not a walk in the park, itll take 2-3 hours all the way up and down. Although its tourist friendly, its definitely some effort and Id recommend sunscreen and water as theres no shade along the way and youll need to status hydrated. You can get water at the base and getting there is easy with a quick google search.mtiple buses go up and down to the starting point. If youre not the best with asthma etc, bring a mask as at points theres a lot of sulfur in the air. The whole place is two big volcanos Afterall. There are multiple fantastic view points and two constantly steaming holes also very viewable.

is one of the nine national parks in Taiwan. This National Park is famous for its cherry blossoms, hot springs, sulfur deposits, fumaroles, venomous snakes, and hiking trails, including Taiwans tallest dormant volcano, Seven Star Mountain (1,120 m). The best time to visit is March for the cherry blossoms or late September and October for the change of the leave colours. To get there you can take the MRT to Jiantan station and then change to bus 127 to take you directly to Yangmingshan National Park. The park is free to visit. Along the trails you will find food stalls, water-falls, benches to sit, some statues and plenty of beautiful scenery to photograph.

A beautiful grassland mountain top with rich history. It also has volcanic tourist spots, seasonal seas of flowers, restaurants with great views, and many waterfalls. All of it are connected together by roads, bus, and hiking trails. Most people pay to come here, but you can also choose a healthier alternative by hiking up the mountain early in the morning to get in for free, exercise, and enjoy all the great view and Taiwans vast biodiversity on the way!

Some of the most breathtaking views Ive seen so far. The bus ride up the mountain was crazy, its a small bus and the road has many turns. If youre standing up, youll bounce back and forth. Be warned, the bud gets very packed. Once you arrive, the calla lillies are abundant and beautiful. There are 2 farms in which you can go walk around in and pick some to take with you. A hidden gem is a new coffee shop with immaculate grounds, amazing views and really delicious coffee. Im not sure its on Google maps yet but I plan to add it if it isnt.

The Yangminshan National Park is one of the best areas for hiking near Taipei. It is easily accessible by public transport and there are numerous trails that you can take. The trails are of varying difficulty, but you should expect quite a few steep sections. However, the views and the experience are definitely worth the effort. I would strongly recommend visiting Yangminshan National Park and spending a day enjoying in its peaceful and beautiful environs.

Very beautiful natural. Trip up to hill took me 1.6 km and downhill 2.4 km to parking lot near guest house where is the stop for bus 108 which take you to entrance of a park (from there another bus is heading back to Taipei). Its a half-day trip but it worth it. Climbing is sometimes a bit challenging but nothing average tourist cant handle.

Honestly: this mountain is overrated. Not only is it extremely difficult to get to the mountain itself due to the limited shuttle busses that run up and down the mountain (expect minimum half an hour wait on nonbusy days outside). The actual shuttle bus ride is quite scary due to the nature of the winding roads. The mountain during late spring/summer time is extremely hot and misty and humid. Therefore you wont get a lot of views. Best time to go is during fall or early spring when it is not raining.I visited Lengshuikeng and I wasnt so impressed by the outdoor hot spring. It was very small and you can dip your feet for a bit but thats about it.It was connected to the grasslands with wild cattle, but again the fog and most shrouded everything. The shuttle busses stop running around 5:20 so make sure you time yourself because AGAIN, going up and down the mountain is a hassle.Theres no food on top so bring some snacks.I attached the shuttle bus schedule and route if you plan to go, please read the route!!!

Beautiful place with beautiful sceneries! Too bad when we were there it wasnt the season of blooming flowers but the view around the whole area was still pretty darn good! There are some small eateries around the area for food as well but we didnt have a chance to try them because they dont operate so early.
