Traditional Chinese dim sum restaurant. They still have carts for you to choose dim sum you want from the cart. We were there at 11am and long line up already. Luckily we made reservation otherwise it’s 45 min wait.

The chow mein was really bad - tasteless, dry and not even a bit of sesame seeds. The charge of almost 5 dollars for tea seems out of character. If you are going to charge for tea at least advertise it somewhere. No sauces, such as mayo for the crispy prawn wonton, or chili sauce ( 辣椒醬at all.Overall a disappointing experience.

Traditional Cantonese restaurant. Taste is good generally. Can eat in or take out. A bit noisy if you do care.

Came here for my birthday, it could not have been worse. The service is okay but the food was so bad. Everything tasted expired, the corn was sour, the chicken was sour, the dumplings were dry, the only good thing was the chashu bun, but that was it. The rice they gave us was literally hard and you could barely chew it. My mom said she felt like throwing up after eating. I used to come here around ten years ago and the quality is drastically different. Dissapointed they’ve changed for the worse. Do NOT come here for dinner.

Delicious food, clean place. Kind customer service. Plates are prepared when you arrive, fresh. Dim sum is also fresh prepared. Wheelchair accessible. Train 🚆 and bus stops very near to the restaurant.Wheelchair accessible but Not Hard of Hearing or Braille Charts. Needs some improvements to be inclusive for all.

Your food satisfaction will vary with what you order. The regular dim sum fare is good but their special fare is very hit and miss. We loved the deep fried milk special but we were very disappointed with the special deep fried beef brisket. Also, the cost was also much higher than we had expected.

Beef is off colour, broccoli is undercooked, honey garlic spareribs are mostly fat. Beef brisket noodles is awful. The best dish was the soup and tea.

It was easy to book reservations. Got seated right away. It’s nice to be able to pick dishes off the carts that came by and you can order some from menu as well. Enjoyed dim sum lunch with family and friends and out of town guests.

Food is bland, similar quality to food court chinese food... maybe not even. I have never ordered a spicy squid with a batter so thick we spent close to $200 on delivery was expecting better from the high rating on uber... should have googled first.

Got the live king crab dinner with my family for my birthday. There was so much garlic on it I thought it was rice. Couldnt even taste the crab!Staff was also quite pushy about buying more food. Oh and the crab dinner was FIVE HUNDRED.

25 Jul 2022. Wide array of dim sum items, some not in menu, you can order as the server push them out in a trolley. I like the baked BBQ buns and most of the dim sum, except the house special fried rice which I find somewhat bland. If the servers and manager would be friendlier and the washroom properly cleaned, then I would have given 4 stars. This is one Chinese restaurant I know that charges $1.60 per person for the Chinese tea and remind the customer to give 15% tips. Shouldnt tipping be up to the customers? A good dining experience is not solely dependent on the food, customer service and cleanliness play an important part too, in this, the restaurant has not achieved it, since the previous time I visited.

Ordered some really expensive king crab($500), completely drowning in garlic, couldnt taste the crab underneath. The servers walked around watching us and made us feel unsettled. Then they try to make us buy more food by commenting repeatedly about how we can eat more. Reminds me more of going to your rude aunts house than fine cuisine

I ordered vegetable chow main, diced chicken with peanuts and vegetable spring rolls. I threw most of it in the garage everything was so greasy it was inedible. I salvaged some of the diced chicken and vegetables made a pot of plain rice and I was able to salvage a below average dinner plate of food all for only $50!!!

Server spoke both Cantonese and English. Answered questions and provided good service. They have many rooms and looks like they can host big parties. Separate space for regular dining customers. I think the regular dining room is more brightly lit as there are windows whereas the separated parts of the restaurant use indoor lighting and is more yellow. We tried the live king crab combo for 4 for $528. Soup was very tasty. Steamed crab with garlic was good. Deep fried crab was ok but I don’t like fried foods so others will like it more. I liked the baked rice in crab shell as it was very cute and also filling. Only order if you like curry rice. Dessert had a choice of mango pudding or Chinese rice sweet water dessert. Each person can ask for a different dessert - not everyone has to have the Chinese sweet water dessert.25 cents per take out container.

The beef with green peppers in black sauce tasted fine, but there is far too little beef compared to peppers/onions for the price. We paid $18 for 80% veggies and 20% small pieces of meat.

When I asked a male employee for a payment machine, he watched my behavior while I was paying.I decided to give a 10% tip.I tried to use the machine for payment, but I was not used to it. However, the male employee operated the machine and showed me the machine to pay for it and asked me to pay the amount including 12% of the tip regardless of my will. I felt his behavior was so rude. There was no difference in price, but I was in a bad mood, so I said I would pay 10% for the tip. While I was paying, the staff watched what I was doing and set the tip according to the staffs wishes. Also, he didnt give us the bill with the details of the amount of each item. He gave it to me only after I asked. Shouldnt you give it to me?If you are not familiar with the use of the device, I think it is right to inform the customer how to use. Tips are provided to employees when the customer is satisfied with a certain level of service. I dont ever want to go there again.

Our first time there and were pleasantly surprised. We order combo of 4 dishes, that included traditional soup, ginger onion crab, praws with veggies, cold platter, blanched chicken. The seafood dishes were very fresh. I appreciate the fact that hot dishes were hot, cold dish was cold and stir fried dishes were at the right texture. We will go back there again. A little gimmick was the robot busperson, kind of cute though.

One of my go-to places for Peking Duck! Crispy skin and sliced in front of you. Complimentary soup for dinner deals plus dessert, mango pudding/red bean sweet soup. Prices and portions were decent. Lots of parking at the lot. Staff are quite nice. Seating area well spaced apart.

They charge over $19 for their special fried rice that is bland and mushy. Their free spring roll that came with the order was the only thing I was impressed with. Food courts have better food, was hoping for more for the price point they were selling at.

Very disappointed! The dim sum was not hot . I took a bite to the Deep Fried Eggplant. The temperature was luke warm and the color was brown and mushy, taste horrible! The Minced Pork Dumping come with 4 pieces totally but 2 were broken dough and couldnt find pork inside except some churchy vegetables, tasteless!! The only acceptable dish was Steamed beef balls. I have never tried such a bad dim sum place. After eating these dim sum dishes, I dare not to order other things. Paid my bill and left within 45 minutes with intention never going bad.See Photos..😒😪

a dimsum place in the middle of k-town. I’m not sure of any other place to get dimsum jn this area, so it’s a good option. Personally, I’ve had better quality food at a better price than here, but competition is more fierce in those areas. It’s a good choice if you are looking for a group dinner.A small mango pudding that’s size of a soy sauce plate was approx $5

Prices went up more than pre-pandemic (but dish portions are the same). Following all protocols (distances between tables, staff with masks and face shields, no more push carts), so thats good. Adequate dishes but nothing to write home about, so if you have no other options, feel free to visit, but I would probably go elsewhere for a better price point and food.

Decent dim sum and amazing service. The manager on site was super friendly and catered to all our needs. I asked for hot sauce and hoisin sauce and he brought me double. The pepper fried squid was pretty crispy and battered. The xo radish cake was so good too. Actually everything is amazing. Sui Mai was juicy and filled with prawns. So much grease and flavour I had dimsum hangover after.

Unusually disrespectful service today.I showed up and 2 employees saw me. No greeting. 5min later someone else came in and received their food right away. Another 3 min passed, another customer came and served right away. I asked if my order is ready and they shook their head. Then 5 more min, they asked my name and gave me the order that was sitting on the table since first entered. 🤦‍♂️😵Food is decent.

Foods tasted not bad. Price is acceptable, most are expensive. Credit cards accepted. Check out speed is fast. Serve speed is normal. Employees are unfriendly, the attitude is horrible! So, Yan’s Garden has been on my list of places to try for a number of years (I suppose it’s partly because I used to watch “Wok with Yan” back in the 80’s). I’ve been hesitant to stop by here in the past mainly because parking always looked difficult here as the parking lot is generally always full.We stopped by in early February (during the snowy weatherso we managed to grab one of the available parking spaces. A good thing too because the lot filled up rather quickly afterwards. We were surprised at how large this restaurant is because, from the outside, it appears to be a small location. However, despite the large footprint, the seating seemed a bit cramped… especially since they offer push-cart dim sum.First up was the Steamed Beef Rice Rolls ($5.28and Pork Siu Mai ($5.28topped with fish roe – staples for our dim sum outings. Two other classic Cantonese dim sum dishes followed quickly thereafter… Steamed Beef Balls ($5.58and Steamed Chicken Feet ($5.28in black bean sauce. The chicken feet were fairly tender but the dish seemed to be missing the black beans. The thing with push-cart style dim sum is that you have to wait sometimes for the dish you’re looking for to show up. I also find that we tend to over order with push-cart dim sum. Our next dishes were the Pan-Fried Turnip Cake ($6.99and Honeycomb Tripe ($5.28). I know that tripe (and chicken feetcan be a bit of an acquired taste for some people but you should really give it a try. By themselves, they don’t have much flavour but they do take on the flavour of the sauce and the texture is quite different than other dishes.Their Stuffed Eggplant $5.58turned out really nice with the perfect amount of light crispness to the bite and a generous filling. For dessert, we picked up these amazingly cute Mango and Lychee Bunnies ($5.58). They were almost too cute to eat… almost. The mango was really good with a perfectly smooth and velvety texture.Overall, the food here is pretty good. Service is a bit haphazard (they mistakenly marked a dish down twice for us and we had to flag them down to correct it).

Food is pretty average, but service is fast. A great place to come and enjoy all the dim sum classics at a pretty good price!I had a bit of an unfortunate experience where someone only ordered "vegetables" in chinese but did not specify which ones. We were given pea tips, the most expensive on the menu. They tasted good though.Friends with the owners nephew so its nice to get a discount here. Of course this will be applicable to nobody else.
