Yamazato’s is the best. I’ve been going here since the hibachi chicken chicken and shrimp was 8.95. Make sure you get yum yum sauce.

Purchased the onion soup and what a disappointment. It had no flavor, and no noodles were given. They should be serving Tea with Mushrooms.

Been eating here years and its always great and with friendly service. Today when I picked up my order, the cashier sprinted out to my car when he realized they forgot my egg roll. Great food and great service!

The people were very nice. Chicken had watered down flavor and had so much fat . The soup tasted like dish water. Rice is bland. Ribeye steak was definitely not ribeye.

Portions are huge, chicken teriyaki tastes good, but hibachi vegetables and rice are bland. Crab rangoons are very sweet, not bad but not the best Ive had. 3/5 average take out hibachi place.

They got my order WRONG. We asked for onions only on one of them. The guy when going over the order when my daughter picked up even said "onion only". My daughter confirmed. Got home and it was only zucchini. Never again. I will stick with Oishi or Tokyo.

Classic, I love the teriyaki chicken. Everytime I order from here I leave with a full belly and a bill that feels fair at least. I tend to call ahead and avoid the wait which I imagine isnt bad in person. I hate going to Timberlake but if I do at least I can have Yamazatos again.

Always my favorite!! Celebratory dinner for 2 tonight with 2 Lobster dinners & we are stuffed so full we cant even finish the whole thing. I love being able to order mine without vegetables. I highly recommend the fast, courteous, tasty & convenient food here.

Good food. But they need to put more cream cheese in the wontons. There is nothing there after they fry them.

Cheerful service, but you have to know what to order. The rice is very bland and isnt fried in the Japanese style; they need to add sesame seeds or more soy and fry it a little longer to give it some taste. The filet minon is tasty, but the regular steak is rubbery and cut too thin. Good prices for the filet, and the chicken is also good, so be careful to order the right stuff, and bear with the rice.

The chicken & steak are always cooked perfectly, the vegetables are cooked perfectly, the rice is always wet but not too wet, theyve never screwed up an order, the yumyum sauce is always on point; & no matter what time of day i go the order is always finished in about 15 minutes.

Yamazatos is my favorite place to go for Asian take out. They also have a dining room I just normally dont have time to use it anymore. But trust me when I say, this is definitely one of the top 3 places for authentic Asian cuisine in Lynchburg. If not THE best when you take into account the cost of the meal. Very affordable and very delicious. And now Im craving Wontons and yum yum sauce. Haha. Guess Ill be making a trip by later guys. Keep up the good work!!

This is one of my favorite japanese restaurants. The food is some of the best its fresh and the people are super friendly. I love their shrimp and steak.

Last night around 8:45pm I went to pick up some takeout at this restaurant. I’ve always gotten the Chicken Teriyaki with no onions, freshly made zucchini and steamed rice. It’s always been great and never any problems. 45 minutes later I suffered from severe stomach and back pain that was so painful I couldn’t see. Called my mother for help and she immediately called 911. Luckily because I have a sensitive stomach I couldn’t finish it. The paramedics have seen this one to many times and knew what to do. After 2 hours my body went into horrible waves of vomiting. None of the food I ate even digested. I lived my first and hopefully last round of food poisoning. I understand that mistakes happen so I won’t be asking for anything. I just want others aware that mistakes can happen anywhere and to always be safe. Sometimes it’s just better to prepare your own food. Thanks for reading.

This is a no-frills Japanese take-out style establishment. I have been eating here for years and the food quality has always been good. The food options have expanded over time, and I have never been dissatisfied. The service is on par for take-out type restaurants, though they have always been friendly and willing to chat. It doesnt look like much, but it gets consistent local traffic. If you eat-in, you will see a steady flow of patrons.

Best Japanese in Lynchburg! Used to go to Osaka’s on Fort Avenue until they started charging what seems like double the price for their food. Never been disappointed with a meal from yamazatos though! Love their teriyaki chicken and filet mignon steak, and the yum yum is perfect! One time I picked an order up just to find out when I got home they had given me the wrong order. I went back and not only did they give me a fresh order they also let me keep the first order. Because of that i give them 5 stars!

Overall good food. Good bang for your buck. Customer service is typical with a slightly rushed feeling. Most people pick up orders. They really should offer a delivery service. Only reason not a 5 star is because I ordered the expensive seafood dish one time and it was highly disappointing. Every other time has been a good experience.

Love the food here and they definitely specialize in take out. Wish they had salad with the Japanese Ginger dressing, but would still eat here time and time again!

I have now eaten at almost every Japanese spot in Lynchburg !!! Yamazoto is still officially my go to ! The steak is very tender and the pricing is for the steak and shrimp 🍤 is beyond resonable ! Keep up the good work.Sincerely,Customer for life

This place is not fancy, you do not sit down and they cook in front of you.....HOWEVER it is the best "Fast Food" Hibachi in town. And the employees are friendly. I have been going there for over 10 years and they have never messed my order up.....Way to go Nancy!!!!!

Have been going to Yamazatos for years and always have great food. Just be aware that, like other Japanese restaurants, if you eat there, you will leave smelling a little like Japanese food. Not a problem for me at all!

I stop about once a month or so, they are my favorite Hibachi restaurant in Lynchburg. The best value is to just get the hibachi teriyaki chicken which I believe is the best and costs about the same as a fast food meal ($6.50). I have also tried the Steak & Chicken ($10.15as well as the Filet & Chicken ($13.25). While good, I just prefer to get the chicken mostly because its cheaper and tastes amazing. I did not think the Filet warranted double the price as they only included about 8 small pieces. Free yum yum sauce with every order and it tastes amazing.

Good food at a good price. Friendly service and better then any other Japanese take out place Ive been to. Iv been to places where the chicken was under cooked and there was always nasty watery stuff in the bottom of the container. That has never happened here.

No, this isnt a frilly place but unlike the comment before, it IS very clean and the food is good. Its the best fast Hibatchi in the Burg. It might be a little "hole in the wall" but, I would be very happy to sit there on a date night and try their Lobster dish with my hubs. Weve ordered from Yamazto for years.

Good all around. Most places have either great chicken/steak but the rice or veggies arent as good, or vice versa. My girlfriend and I both enjoyed Yamazato and thought it was probably the best Japanese express weve had yet here in Lynchburg, and weve pretty much tried them all.

OK, first and foremost, you have to take the place for what it is: its a hole in the wall, fast, no frills, simple place. No sushi, no ginger sauce, and minimal service. Basically, its a quick hibachi place wedged between a grocery store and a cell phone store, and thats it.My husband and I had lunch there today, and the food tasted OK, nothing special, just quick stir fry on the hibachi grill. However, the counter and the tables needed a REALLY good scrubbing (they were quite sticky), and theres nothing that turns me off a restaurant like not being squeaky clean.Also, for the hibachi chicken, the hibachi ribeye (no way!and two sodas, lunch cost $16+ -- even with the rice, thats hardly cheap!So if you want something fast - and that hasnt killed me 11 hours after I ate - then go for it. Me, Ill find someplace MUCH cleaner next time...
