Yamawarau Omotesando - Sukiyaki and Shabu Shabu restaurant in Tokyo, Japan
A middle-end shabu shabu experience in Harajuku. Several courses to choose from, and I opted for the beef option. It did not disappoint. The meat was great and the vegetables delicious. You also get dessert, with one option being a huge serving of kakigori. I went with the ice cream which was nice. Great service and cool atmosphere with everyone sitting around an open kitchen.
Fresh veggies and meat (pork and beef, seafood options availablecooked in individual pots. Whats not to like.
I was there at the end of March 2020, so it almost empty but we try the shabu shabu there and its really delicious, clean and really an authentic experience to get shabu shabu. Thank you for a good memories and awesome dinner.
Great place for shabu-shabu dinner near Omotesando. The shabu-shabu beef you order will be sliced in front of you!!! Normally one need to reserve but we got in smoothly without booking owing to covid19 impact...
Upscale atmosphere, delicious Sukiyaki, and very hospitable staff. Went to have dinner during the weekdays and there were only a few customers so we could have a nice, comfortable dinner in peace. Price is also reasonable which ranges from 2600Y to 5000Y, so if you’re looking for a place to enjoy both high-quality sukiyaki and a classy atmosphere, this place will be a great choice.
Shabu shabu individually hot pot. Kindly waiters and waitresses.
Delicious shabu shabu, coupled with an English friendly menu that made the experience much more enjoyable. The fresh vegetables and freshly cut meat were a delight. It comes out a little pricey, ~$30 average a head depending on how much meat you order, as well as drinks, but overall a worthwhile experience for authentic Japanese shabu shabu in the heart of Omotesando.
Great place for the shabu shabu, I recommend to go for lunch. The price is cheaper.
Very nice
Shabu shabu / sukiyaki. Good quality food (esp the foodwith appetiser, shabu shabu or sukiyaki and dessert. When we came there was all you can drink Sake. Cool find.
おいしかった!!Delicious Shabu Shabu and super healthy. Really good meat quality, although a little bit expensive for the amount, probably because of the fancy area (Omote-sando).
Must try Yamagata or Matsusaka Beef. Free rice re-fill. Better make a reservation.
Great experience! Highly recommended for lunch. Top quality meat.
We booked online and were able to get a private room for 4 without an extra charge. We did the ¥10,000 wagyu coarse, and it was delicious. Starts off with some tofu and spinach appetizer, then some crudite with dressing, then the main of vegetables and wagyu beef, then the option of white rice or ramen noodles to end the meal. I chose white rice, but after having tried everyone elses ramen, I would pick ramen next time. There is also a dessert included, with chouce of sorbet, ice cream, chestnut sundae, and some other stuff I cant recall, because I was so stuffed.
Great shabu shabu. Nice atmosphere and friendly servers. Reservations recommended.
Had Kobe sukiyaki. I think it’s a bit of a waste to use Kobe for sukiyaki. Lucky my wife had shabu-shabu! :)
Great experience with some delicious food, the broth was flavorful and the meal fun
Theres no other way to put it - the sesame sauce is heavenly and the hero of the Shabu Shabu offering here. The meat is also deliciously tender and marbled, and their seasonal vegetables provide interesting textures and tastes.
Nice shabu shabu with beef, good service, and wonderful dessert!!
Came here for lunch and ordered one of their lunch combos which was very reasonably priced. Each person has their own personal pot for either sukiyaki or Shabu Shabu. The staff was very helpful and spoke excellent English to help us understand how to have the best experience. The meat is also freshly sliced by a butcher. Perfect portion size too. Delicious!
Worst service we’ve had in Japan. We were made to wait forever when the restaurant was half empty. Waitress gave us the wrong order, forgot our noodles/rice, and never gave us bowls and silverware. We ordered tea which never came. She never even apologised after all this. Unbelievable. It’s almost like they were ignoring us on purpose. Which they probably were... Because in the meantime all the locals around us were getting their food, tea and bowls and nothing was wrong. The restaurant manager was COOKING noodles for them when they ‘forgot’ half of our order. One of those places that act like it’s ok to treat foreign customers like trash, y’know?Food was not great either. Broth was super salty; for the 5000yen pp sukiyaki set you get literally 2 slices of beef and some vegetables. There are so many great places in Tokyo, please don’t fall for this trap.
English speaking staff that will help you with everything if youve never had shabu shabu before.Very nice ambience and tasteful interior. Great food.Sukiyaki or shabu shabu. You cook your own veggies and meat in a boiling copper pot and eat it with rice/raw egg. Your choice of 5 tsukemono (self served at a side table). Most fantastic lemon sorbet included in lunch option.Ask for a bib if not offered, the glass noodles can make a mess of your attire.Highly recommend!
Very good service. It’s not a tourist place, at least while we were there. Our server spoke excellent English. The food was excellent! Great price for what you get!
Hands down my favorite shabu shabu restaurant in Tokyo. Wouldn’t hurt to get a reservation for the weekends, and the amount of delicious food you get is 100% worth the price.
Very nice restaurant. Good shabu shabu with very fresh products. Great service. We loved it.
Great ambiance and service. Quality meats and clean broth.
Excellent atmosphere soup is very good
Omg! I can say this is one of the best Shabu Shabu Ive ever had so far! Of cause the Wagyu is yummy! The soup and the ramen served at the end making you the best experience of how a Shabu Shabu should be end with. Enjoy!
Meat is outstanding, while others veges, drinks, appetizers are average. The soup is not stewed soup. Its just hot water.
Modern, casual, and full-serviced Japanese hot pot dining experience. Fresh cut wagyu beef up to Matsusaka-grade melts in your mouth. I recommend starting with the mid-grade black beef loin with a Yonezawa pork loin on the side, and ease your way up to the Matsusaka. Skip the cheaper "special beef loin" for it is not that special at all. You cant go wrong with either shabushabu or sukiyaki.
Perfect shabu shabu. The chefs were polite and willing to struggle through a little English to get our order. The food was all delicious and the portions were enormous
Very cozy place for shabu shabu. The meats are all very good, the place is clean and nice and the staff very helpful.
We booked for lunch via tablecheck website. It can get busy during peak hours.Restaurant consists of two large oval counters with meat slicing machines in the middle. It was really interesting to watch them slicing the meat with such precision! The paper placemat doubles up as a menu. Lunch courses were very reasonably priced. They have a few options with a starting price of only 1500yen!Each diner has its own shabu pot. We ordered a lunch course of mixed beef loin n pork slices (70gms eachand another course of special beef loin (100gms). You have a choice of white rice or mixed grain rice. There is a self-service free flow pickle bar! We finished off with a refreshing scoop of yuzu sorbet.Very satisfying meal indeed!
Taste good and worth of its price
Good service good food
Good quality food and great service.
Wonderful spot! Very friendly team working there too. Delicious food. Highly recommended!
Good value with dinner set and great ambience. Beautiful house sake too!
i found this restaurant by accident and im lovin it! a bit line up during the peak time but not a long line. i waited there for 15 mins to get a table. the price is resonable here as well. the staffs are all friendly and helpful. english speakers are welcome here.
we had the shabushabu and sukiyakithe taste of shabushabu is super light and the sukiyaki is too saulty.food portion was extremely small. we feel this restaurant is to cheat non locals.service is not professional. waiter forgot our appetizer and we had to remind waitor to check back when main course was firstly served.we also waited a long time to be seated, even though the restaurant was half empty.
I ordered “special beef loin set’ and it was the best Shabu-shabu I had in Tokyo.
The service was really good, and the servers spoke English extremely well. We didnt know what a lot of the things on the menu were and they took the time to explain the dishes.
Great shabu shabu and sukiyaki and really nice atmosphere. Beautiful copper hot pots. Would recommend having the special beef (worth the extra 200 yen).
Perfect place for an affordable sukiyaki or shabushabu experience. We really enjoyed the dining experience here. Good quality food and good people! (Thanks again Miyauchi sang.)
Super tasty, great service, and modern décor. No complaints.
Slick shabu shabu restaurant tucked in the alley of omotesando. They only have counter seats with a small pot in front of each seat so you can enjoy your food without bothering anyone else. We went for lunch and found the recommended lunch sets both good and reasonably priced. Free refills for rice.Neat little detail is that they give colored cups based on your gender - blue for men and pink for female.
fave spot for shabu2 qood quality meat , fresh vegetables, reasonable price for lunch course.
Great atmosphere, useful location, delicious meat. On top of that the course menus are not costly. Definitely a favorite place to go for a dinner.
Individual hot pot of your choice. They have different types of meat, shabu shabu and sukiyaki.White rice is free refill with pickles.
Solid shabu shabu in unique circular counter seating arrangement. Hotspots are individual.
