Yamas Meze & Tapas in Arnold

On a mini break to Nottingham and a lovley guy from Aura Fine Art studio recommended Yamas to us. The food was outstanding and service was excellent. We were seated upstairs and the lady that served us was lovely and very helpful as it was our 1st time there guided us with our food choice. Her and another lady were both helpful and funny. Would have no hesitation in going back again 10/10.

I called to reserve a table prior to eating there. We arrived to the restaurant, after walking around the city centre for hours and my friend still had in her hand the cup from a bubble tea she had drank earlier. We got through the door and said a very polite and friendly hello to the man who was there and after I explained we had reserved a table, the only thing he said to us before even saying hello was " Youre not allowed with that in here", pointing to the cup my friend was holding. I wouldve left the restaurant immediately after that rudness but we had another friend who was meeting us there so it was too late to change plans.We came to spend our hard worked money in your restaurant and I find it unacceptable for one of your employees to speak like that to a customer, regardless of what your rules are. There are different ways to go about it and I know that from experience, having also worked in the restaurant industry.The only reason why Im giving 4 stars is that the food was actually tasty and the portions were reasonable for a tapas place. But even with good food, I would still not go back, there was a weird and very rigid energy in the restaurant.

Great restaurant, service was very good and attentive. Sharing starter was superb, followed by a couple of lovely mains. (Only very very small criticism is the drinks are a little expensive). Many thanks 👍

Went with a party of 7 to celebrate 2 birthdays. Food was outstanding and very plentiful, none of us managed to finish but they provided us tubs to take home. Service was attentive and young lady who waited our table was very friendly. Would definitely return, Yamas!!!

Not sure how I felt about my meal here. Just felt like the experience was missing something. We were a party of 8 and everyone seemed happy, but nothing ridiculously special.

Booked here as staying in Nottingham for a few days. WOW! The set menu for two was amazing value and so tasty. You wont go hungry eating here.

All staff very friendly. Fantastic place. Six of us went, five had the meze. Four amazing courses, too much for most of us to eat. The sixth had a special diet, which was catered for very well.A yearly visit for us, been doing so for five year.Definitely recommended.

Definitely the best Greek restaurant you can find in Nottingham and one of my all time favourite eateries. The food is absolutely superb, even for vegetarians! Staff is always very friendly and courteous and the ambiance just perfect. Would wholeheartedly recommend

Would rate 0 if possible.Booked for 2.45pm on my birthday, turned up on time to be told 15 minute wait. We were in golf outfits and the owner looked us up and down and told us to wait well away from the restaurant! Very discriminative. We looked elsewhere for food, very rude, very discriminative and unprofessional.

Came here at the weekend as we were visiting Nottingham and a few people had recommended it to us and it didnt disappoint, the restraint was really nice and chilled inside and the food was so good we lovely every single bit of it will definitely come again 👌

In the city to see a show and decided to grab some food - after searching for best in city & seeing reviews had to give Yamas a try... they were busy but managed to find space and concur with reviews - a well priced great taste experience that is now likely to see us travel to sample more.

If I could I would rate higher than 5 stars, I have wanted to eat here for quite some time and it really did live up to my expectations, fantastic, beautiful food and lovely attentive staff, could not speak any higher of this place and shall absolutely be coming here again soon, thank you for a brilliant experience!

This is a very surprising restaurant, aparently the place doesnt look much, a bit crowded, no design at all, nothing like the typical Grek restaurant, some of the staffs are a bit grumpy, but ok in the end..... buuuut the food is very good.We ordered a variety of small platters that were absolutely delicious, I been pleasantly surprised.The mains were quite large and good, but they were missing a salad, could be great to have a gyros with a bit of salad on a side, maybe they can take this comment as improvement for future menu.The place can be quite busy at certain times of the day so if you want to dine in group is better to book a table in advance.

Stunning food. We had a table for 10 people on a Thursday night, we all had the set meal. Every dish was beautiful and the service was great. Would definitely recommend and will go again.

We returned after almost a four year break and if possible everything is even better than before ,the owner and staff were fantastic,friendly and helpful. The food was incredible,fresh and tasty . We will see you soon

This place is brilliant. We had a lovely tapas meal for 6 and every dish was delicious. The staff are all excellent and really accommodated my young son and assisted him when he hurt his hand. Very kind, with a great menu. Will be visiting again!

Came here as a group of 4 and ordered many tapas dishes. Incredible food. Everything was cooked to perfection and had amazing flavour. We felt it was really reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food. Left very happy and very full!

Amazing restaurant. My parents were visiting from France. They are always very demanding when it comes to food and hard to please. We ended up going twice for lunch (thats how much my parents loved it!). The portions are generous and the quality is excellent. We ordered the lunch menu with a selection of 3 mezzes each, we all had drinks and my parents had an iced coffee for dessert. We spent between £15 and £20 per person for our food which is very reasonable. My dad particularly enjoyed the stifado with the rosemary potatoes. My mum enjoyed the pinchos de gambas and we all loved the chorizo con miel and the baked feta, with the cheese melting in our mouth! The service was great, everyone was very professional yet friendly and helpful. Some members of staff even were kind enough to interact in French with my parents. We absolutely recommend, dont wait any longer.

Dont be deceived by the rather understated exterior of this restaurant, its very nice inside. We turned up without a reservation and they fit us in and were so friendly. We ordered 3 tapas dishes each (as we normally do at tapas restaurantsbut struggled to eat it all as the portions were very generous and delicious. If we lived in Nottingham wed be regulars.

Good location, good service and reasonably priced with friendly staff, seating can be a bit tight as very busy. Personally found some of dishes with meat a bit too fragrant. Can work out a bit expensive if you start if you go down the tapas route, get one normal meal if you want to save your cash a bit.

The most delicious Greek food I have had. I have been here twice to try the lunch menu and it always amazes me. The tapas portions are great sized and delicious. The best experience for me was the service, the most welcoming and friendly staff, I’ve felt so welcomed and I’ve had a great experience eating and chatting away 🧿💙

Have been here many times with my partner, but this time I went with a party of 18. Have to say for a large party the service was excellent. We decided (or it was suggestedthat most large parties go for the meze, which was great as you get to try many of the beautiful dishes. Be warned though, there is a LOT of food to get through and I doubt many parties get through it all. Unfortunately I have two complaints, the chicken skewers were dry and non descript and why on earth you would bring the big bowls of Greek salad out at the very end of the meal, when everyone cant finish what was left on the table already was beyond me and 3 out of the 5 bowls were untouched.

This place is amazing. A family favourite where we have been going for years! The food is consistently superb, a great selection, never had a bad dish. Lunch deal is great value, very good portions. In my opinion the best food in town! Best to book.

We ordered the Meze for four and it was brilliant. The waiter was really helpful and polite, he answered all the questions we had. If you have a meze for four it’ll be bigger. Don’t be fooled, the meze is not for the faint hearted! We were all stuffed by the end.Atmosphere was delightful, but not overly busy for a Saturday at 6. A perfect little slice of Greece with authentic food, drink and staff. This is my third time going and I’d go back in a heartbeat. Definitely one of the best in Notts.

An unexpected treasure in an unusually wide back alley of Nottingham near Market Square.We went relatively early, about 6pm and there were quite a few customers in, but didnt seem too busy. Within about half an hour though the place was full.We shared a bottle of wine, nothing sophisticated, had a sharing meat platter, chicken and lamb souvlaki, pork sausages, halloumi on some meat with greek salad, tzatziki, tabbouleh and flatbread.All in all it was a nice meal, hearty but too much for 2, so we asked for some containers to take the rest home - and the following day our lunch was sorted.Service was quick, efficient and polite. Decor was way better than expected from the outside, in fact quite decent. Food was good too.

Delicious tapas style Greek dishes. They offer a great lunch deal but we also ordered a couple of dishes from the main menu. The stifado in particular was delicious, tender beef and a generous portion. There are are so many great dishes to choose from, we will be definitely be back to try more!

Very tasty and perfectly seasoned food. Authentic flavours and a wide selection to choose from. A combination of Greek. Meze and Spanish tapas. Pitta bread was a bit too doughy for my taste though. Good wine and beer selection. The service was genuinely friendly and efficient. Cosy atmosphere even though its quite a big restaurant.

Have been planning to visit Yamas for ages but never got around to it, glad we did!We went for the lunch tapas menu, £8.95 each I think.The menu is compact but covers a range that will suit most tastes.We tried the pork belly, chorizo, chicken, lamb in vine leaves, hummous, and patatas bravas.Honestly the hummous was not great, too coarse for me and the chicken was quite dry actually, the pork belly in breadcrumbs was an interesting choice but it didnt work for me. The chorizo was amazing, the lamb in vine leaves was amazing and the patatas bravas were, sadly cold.It was ok it but I think the food was over rated (not necessarily over priced, I think it was good value), the service was excellent and I would go again if asked but I think I tried everything off the menu that I wanted so I probably wouldnt choose to go again.

We had an amazing experience at Yamas. The service is excellent, youre very well looked after and theyre very attentive. They explain the dishes in each course and brought over water to accompany the food without even asking.And then the food. Absolutely gorgeously done. We had the special meze and it was definitely worth it. All 4 courses were delicious in their own way, the portion sizes are good as well. We will definitely come here again! Highly recommend this lovely place.

Food & service has been incredible! Everything on special mezze was cooked to perfection especially the grilled seabass & seafood rice. Even the add ons were delish!! Were particularly impressed with the potato dauphinoise & salmone con salsa de crema.
