Yacht Club in Upper Arlington

Interesting how some non-members expect to be treated as members at this Club, at least as far as the reviews go. Make an application and join (if you can get approved, which, based on your attitude, I doubtor simply dont come to the Club. Well manage without you.... somehow.

Attended car show here yesterday 7/10/22. This show is a joke. We all pay the same entry fee and not one newer car won an award. Only cars from 30,s 40s 50s 60s and 70s won anything. This is deceitful advertising. If you only want to reward old cars then call it an "old car show" . So people with newer cars dont waste their money and time. This along with their lousy restaurant and poor service made it a miserable day. By the way all the gates and security doors and members attitudes will help to keep us non-members from going there. Just another example of wealth privilege. I wont be going back. And you shouldnt either.

Attending a car show at the yacht club. As a "guest" we were allowed to eat in the restaurant. We sat ourselves. Promptly received a glass of water and silverware. No one asked if we wanted any drinks. Over a half an hour later we finally had a waitress come and annoyingly take our order after flagging her down. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich, my husband the wings and onion rings. 45 minutes later, as the waitress reappeared I flagged her down again to ask how much longer it would be. I was lectured on how busy they were, short staffed, how "guests" were allowed in today, etc...... even though there seemed to be many people working. To top this was that she told me they were now out of chicken salad. If this place knew that they were having a car show today, they should have been prepared with more food. We left.........poorest service I have ever experienced!!! We will never come back.

The Club is making upgrades for the benefit of its members! Check out the new gates, signs, and directional arrows, all meant to make things easier for club members to find parking, and impossible for non-members to clog things up.BLYC will continue to make improvements over the next several years. Beautiful day at the lake!

I worked here for 4 years before I was terminated for my car breaking down and I missed a major event. Managment has no concern for staff or their well being. The board, that is made up of members, makes an abundance of the decisions on how the club runs and are very poor at communication with staff. Leading to many of the events and over all service of the club being a poor experiment. If you’re a member and enjoy the company of people who like to belittle other for enjoyment you will fit right in! Otherwise we advise you save your money. The member who run the board and pay the same as everyone else treat this club like it is their own and have ruined a great place. Tragic.

Always a wonderful time at Buckeye Lake Yacht Club. Great historic building right on Buckeye Lake. Sunday brunch was superb. Huge omelets and over sized bread. Fortunately the club is members and guests only which restricts amount of patrons. If it were a public restaurant I have no doubt that the line to get in would be out the door !

Fun, nice and enjoyable place to be.

We are not members, but were/are invited now and again by friends. Live music was the lure this evening and a big band (20+ were under the stage tent with the lake behind and boats moving about through the evening. Good musicians all with 4 singers 2 male 2 female. Good pipes and presentation. Social distancing and related matters were undertaken but need a bit of polish refinement. The safety requirements were not ignored. Getting things more fully in swing in days ahead will likely present a smoother distancing as practiced more. Food is good and the high quality side of that. Nothing is expensive and menu range is very likely to have wide approval. Burgers to broiled cod, pasta specials and more. The chef has specials and entre items that are creative and tasty. Drinks range, beers domestic and crafts. Wine and mixed drinks fairly or even lower priced and made/served by good folks. Many attendees are members frequently at BYC. The regulars are friendly engaging and give all a sense of shared community and enjoyment.

Always a good experience, I have a standing luncheon with friends every two months! The pecan crusted chicken breast salad is my favourite, I dont like honey mustard and I i switch out the special dressing, but I hear its fabulous.

When everyone dies at the yacht Club one needs to enjoy the pecan encrusted chicken salad.

I dont use to rate places. But this place is great. Reasonable pricing and staff is warm and friendly. I will definitely come back again.

The ambience and camaraderie at buckeye lake yacht club is amazing. We enjoyed a bike ride around the lake and stopped off for some lunch.Please note this is a members-only club. the people I went with where members and are able to bring guests.

Seems like a nice place. Was there early in morning. Kitchen wasnt open yet.

By invitation from a member only as far as I know.The salad bar is out of this world, the entrees and appetizers are terrific, the cocktails are properly prepared, and the servers are attentive.There is a long bar, many tables inside, and a huge, Grand Hotel style veranda, all with a view of the historic lake.If you can manage an invite, by all means, enjoy the experience.

The Buckeye Lake Yacht Club is kind of cool place. It is located on its own little island. The people seem nice and the view off the deck is awesome. The food was good not great but the service time was super slow. The waitress did not seem to be any slower then any of the others so I think the problem was in the kitchen. All the waitresses seemed really nice but the service was sure slow

Our biggest surprises after joining the BLYC were 1the friendly - not snobby - folks 2the excellent good quality 3the enjoyment of sitting on the huge porch and enjoying the lake view.

Fantastic group of people and our sanctuary for dinner and drinks. Joining was the best decision since moving to the area.

A beautiful 112 year-old yacht club thats full of charm and amazing views. And, Im told, its the only one in the U.S. thats on its own island. The bar, the food, and the service were excellent, and thats high praise as my visit was during a local festival when the public was welcome to visit, and it was very crowded.

Good food but the waitress need to learn to keep there personal matters to themselves , went there to eat not get cozy with the help

My husband and I have only been members of the club for a little over 2 years. We always feel welcome and try to make other "newbies" feel the same. Since our chef of 5 years has moved on to try his hand at another establishment, our interim chef and staff have been doing a fine job. We would come more often than Wednesday through Sunday....but we cant...their closed on Monday and Tuesday!!!

There is a review posted on here claiming to be from me, Simon Krajewski. But I insure you that this was not me because I love the club.

I’ve been a member there since 1996. My children and grandchildren have tremendously enjoyed the sailing program for the young Sailors. I also enjoy the Sunday afternoon races. The food at the club is well prepared. The best part of the club is every time I go there I get a friendly greeting and feel welcome. The club has community outreach programs especially at Christmas. I am sorry other people posting comments have had a bad experience.
