An 8-minute walk from the Regent's Park tube stop, this laid-back, modern hostel is also 1.5 miles from Buckingham Palace and 1.8 miles from Big Ben.The utilitarian private rooms provide free Wi-Fi, and shared or private bathrooms. Single-sex dorms add bunk beds. Towels are available for a fee.Amenities include a laid-back cafe/bar, as well as a bright common kitchen and a dining area.
Really good location, very clean, friendly staff and great cafe area. Good affordable alternative compared with hotels in London which are eye wateringly expensive for most people. The nearest tube is about 10 minutes walk or perhaps a little less. Only downside is a 10am checkout which seems a little early but nothing major - elevator is also very small so factor that in when youre leaving in the morning when its busy.
Really really good! Very cheap - me and 3 of mt friends paid £89.25 each for 3 nights in a 4 bed room.Private bathroom, easy access to and from the building (with disabled access), great location. What else to ask for?The staff were all lovely and helpful with smiles on their faces.Great place to stay!
Affordable but clean rooms, great location for visiting London, pubs/restaurants/supermarket/subway station within 5min walking distance. Last but not least: Very welcoming staff. Great job guys. 👍
An error was made with my booking but it was put right so that my stay was very pleasant
Cheap and cheerful, couldnt ask for more and the beds were comfy
The location is the best. Walking distance to many interesting places in London and very near to the tube. As London public transportations are the best, you can go anywhere by using it and pls buy oyster card or you can use your own credit/debit card with the contactless card.In terms of food, You can cook yourself your own food if you hv a special dietary in the dedicated kitchen or you can pay about GBP5 for the morning breakfast. The local Tesco express and Sainsbury is a walking distance to this hostel which is good.
Really bad, that room 003 I couldn’t sleep is way too hot it doesn’t have ac or window and is really smelly my last night couldn’t sleep at all and I wasn’t the only one I notice another guy walk outside too, I stay there twice and both times I ended in that room because they didn’t have any more dorms available (“)
the worst hotel iv ever visit in !!!!!the stuff was so mean to us especially after hearing we are from Israel !!!Please stay away !!!!!
Really enjoyed my stay here. I felt that it was close enough to the tube and bus stations but far enough away to allow for a quaint feel with pubs and restaurants close by. The staff are super kind and friendly. Only bummer is the heat. We had one fan for a room of 8 women, very warm in the evenings. Does have a lift. Facilities were clean. Would for sure recommend.
Was cheap and in a good location, and they allow teenagers under 18 to stay there by themselves, though we arrived in 10AM and could only get in our rooms in 6PM. Also, even though the room itself was alright for the price, both the bathroom and the toilet of our room were across the hallway and couldnt be locked from outside so we had to get out of the room every time we had to use the toilet or shower and nothing stopped the other hotel guests from using our bathroom and toilet (which they did). And the last thing is that they forced us to move to another room for the last two nights of our visit, which meant for us to move our baggage to the hostels storage room in the morning and then to the new room in the evening and we didnt have a room for an entire day and we were in a separate floor from our friends in the other room (who also moved but to a different floor). Also, the fan didnt work and the hostel didnt bring us another one.
Great location and room clean only slight disappointment was I asked to store my luggage and got directed to an external pocket down the street. There is a luggage room and even a temporary one while work is going on I noticed downstairs. Not sure why I couldnt use that. Overall a great stay though price was great and great location etc. Would recommend. Looks a bit wierd with the scaffolding on currently but not a big issues
Very nice hostel and the breakfast was really good. But I did stay here 9 years ago when I 1st moved to this country. I have no problem with the people working there they were all really lovely and supportive. As someone moving to a new country I made the mistake of making this hostel my base. Was commuting out to reading (didnt really know any betterthey were charging me over £20 (sometimes £32 for a tuesday or Wednesdayfor an 8 bed dorm. Anyone using this as a base there are better hostels try St christophers. There are probably other places now this was in 2013. Dont get ripped off by these guys
The room was really clean and the covers were comfortable the mattress was uncomfortable but I could deal with it there were scaffolding on the building so a lot of noise we would have had a good view the room got really warm and we had no fan the window didn’t open to a great extent the breakfast was nice maybe if we had more of a variety it would be better there was some sort of serial only one and had toast and croissants but overall my experience was good
Great location, but the room is the worst Ive been at yet, at the summer the rooms are like huge ovens, also barely open the windows for some fresh air.Dont take the food its not worth it.They also made us leave our room in the middle of our stay because of a mistake with a different room.I dont recommend this place at all.
The mattress were not clean under the sheets there was brown stains same on the pillows and the pillowes are quite hard
I found this hostel very clean and neat. Rooms are spacious. Staff are friendly. The annoying part is you need to rent the towel and lockers with locks are very small only fit small items like wallet and watch.
I was placed into a eight person room but thought what I pay for was for 4 persons. Location is great and staff were very helpful. I would stay again but not in a eight person room.
Clean room, good for stay overnight. There is a small selection for breakfast, but it isnt problem to bring your own.The problem is unconditioned rooms, it isnt even possible to open the whole window, if it is hot weather, you cant stay in the room neither sleep well.Good location of the hostel, quiet street. Metro is near. But accordint to me hotel is not good for 4 stars range, it is fit for 2 stars.
The hotel is pretty modern and newly equipped, which is great. There are few serious issues that would prevent me from staying here again.1. The rooms have no way to cool down. The windows open just a little and after one hot day the room stayed hot for literally days, so we couldn’t sleep. The provided ventilator does really nothing.2. The “continental breakfast” consists of few breads with pretty much nothing to it.3. One small elevator for so many rooms isn’t enough.4. I have absolutely no idea what hotel-star scale was used for rating, as it in no way corresponds with the 4-star level. The location and price are convenient though so it’s good value for money. Couldn’t imagine staying with a family though, even though we’ve seen many of them in the lobby.
I stayed here for the central location. The room slept 8, and it was full.Overall, it was ok for one night, but I couldnt settle down. People were up and down all night, turning lights on and off, going to the bathroom or getting in late after going out. Worst of all, the room was stuffy and I wasnt near a window. I gave up trying to sleep in and got up at 5am. Went to shower, and the drain was blocked. The shower room was flooded and the water wouldnt go down. I reported this to reception, they didnt seem very concerned.Best part of the accommodation was the kitchen, with ample room in fridges for food. If youre on a budget, buying groceries and having facilities to prepare a meal are a must. There were microwaves, kettles, cutlery, plates etc, cups, stoves for use.I didnt like the florescent lighting throughout the building, but when lights are turned out in the dorms, one can use the side lamps, which are much more tolerable for neurodivergeant people like me.
I came here with friends who had been previously and had recommended the hostel. I was very happy with the choice. We booked a 4 person room with an ensuite bathroom and found everything to be nice, comfortable and clean. We went with the basic continental breakfast option in the morning which was around £5 and was tasty and filling. The location of the hostel is very central too, which is amazing for the price. I even recommended it to my own family members for future London trips, as soon as wed left. I definitely would come back again when in London.
Good hostel with a self catering kitchen in the basement and an elevator to all floors. It does simple food with a self service all you can eat continental breakfast which is served from 6 to 10-30am for £4.99 without meat, cheese or eggs. Has free wifi like most YHA hostels and I could use it in my 8 bed room number 307 on the 3rd floor.🙂
Amazingly cheap price for a 4 people room, everything was clear , nice bar and staff. However the only thing is the walls are quite thin so other people can be heard from the corridor. Overall had an amazing experience and way more plus than we actually needed 👍
I really like this hostel, but havent been there since covid, as am confused as whether they still accept single travellers . The website appears to imply that the hostel accepts groups of at least four, at the moment. But I will check later in the year.
Excellent location. Quiet spot with lots of interesting bars and restaurants very close by. 10 minutes walk to Oxford Street. Very clean rooms and on a much smaller scale than other London hostels.
As a family of 5 it is tricky finding hotels. YHA are perfect for us, the room was clean, quiet, modern, warm and comfortable. Great location for exploring London and excellent value for money. There is a quiet cafe/bar downstairs with helpful staff
I had a great time there. Many nice staffs welcome the guests. We can eat cheap and good breakfast there.from Japan
Centrally located, clean and confortable stay as a family: ideal for visiting London.A 6-bed dorm with ensuite bathroom and toilet in the centre of London - a few minutes walk from the nearest Underground station and Oxford street - with self-catering facilities: what more could you want!Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, promptly replying to my questions before booking and also during our stay. We really appreciated being able to access our room before normal check-in time, and that they printed out our boarding passes before our departure.Overall, a very nice experience as a family in London for the first time.Thank you all.
One of the best hostels in London. Totally worth the price. The location is perfect and the place is clean with a friendly staff.
Worth the price. Clean and nice. The night time manager, waived off our cancellation fee for changing rooms in hopes that we enjoyed the stay, which we did.
Really good central location. You can take a walk in any direction and visit the many sights of London. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. The only thing I wasnt so sure about was that we were asked to strip the beds when we were leaving.Im all for helping out, but when you have children to get ready and checked out by 10am, this can be very difficult.I would definitely recommend YHA Central to anyone wanting a cheap, clean place to stay with a great location. We will definitely be returning!
Superb value for money. If youre expecting the Marriott for 1/4 the price youll be disappointed but its efficient, clean, tidy, well placed and excellent for us and our family. Rooms are a great size with ensuite. Bar is great value for money and the kitchen is perfect. We will be back again.Pillows are like sheets of paper but more avaliable when asked for!!
We stayed here as a group of 2 teenagers and 3 adults, booked out the room of 6 beds and shared bathroom/toilet between us. The friendliness of the members of staff, cleanliness, location and services make this the best hostel Ive stayed at in London. Everyone from my family enjoyed the stay as well. Highly recommended!
Great YHA. There are reviews that say it has basic rooms etc- its a youth hostel. Its a base to sleep etc, not a fancy hotel! The rooms are clean and comfortable, the self catering kitchen is spacious with plenty of storage/fridge space. Theres a luggage storage room with lockers for £2/£3 depending in size. The location is perfect-15 min walk from Oxford Circus, tube station not far and plenty of bus routes near by.The staff were by far the best thing about this hostel. So friendly, helpful and they were working really hard.We cant wait to go back and stay again!
Left this morning after staying here two nights, room very clean and tidy and we had our own private bathroom, best shower Ive had in a hotel. Clean bedding and comfy beds despite being bunk beds. Clean communal areas. Would definitely book to stay here again when we come back to London.
The staff in this hostel is great. Everybody, with no exceptions, was really friendly and helpful. The room was clean and quiet, but a bit too hot. We had to keep the fans on all night despite the fact that the temperature outside was about 18oC. The toilet was private, but in the corridor, which is not very convenient. Ill definitely go back - the staff does make this place special.
Ou stay was lovely. Comfy beds, room was super clean and tidy. Our en suite was spotless. Staff are very friendly and always happy to help. Would be more then happy to stay again :)
Location. Price. Cleanliness. Pick any three. Seriously impressed with our first visit to the YHA. Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet at night, 24 hour bar/cafe. Would we (a family of 6stay here again? Absolutely!
Really great hostel. So solid we didnt hear a thing from the building all night! Everything is squeaky clean and maintained. Highly recommended.
Lovely hostel, especially for the price. Couldnt have asked for a better location. Very friendly and helpful staff -- one gentleman went out of his way to help me find a route to the airport for an early morning flight. The hostel was clean, organized, and had nice amenities -- charging port by each bed, individual lockers, free drinking water and some kitchen food, luggage storage. Id definitely stay again during my next visit to London.
I will be back. I travel for business and this place hits the nail on the head. Lovely communal room with bar and restaurant. I spent 20 hours plus working in this area on my laptop over a three night stay. Really nice environment and keep up the hard work. My wife is a life YHA member and recommended I start staying with you. 5* all round. Much nicer environment than a lot of hotels in central london. Friendly people, lovely staff and comfy beds. Also good price bar and cool food. Wifi is on steroids compared to a lot of much more expensive places.
Really polite and helpful staff. Stayed 2 nights but Id stay longer if I could! Place is clean and continuously maintained and also kitchen its the largest Ive ever seen and with all we need. Bathrooms outside of the room are separated: shower in one side and w.c. in the other and both also always clean. Beds are comfy and the location is amazing! 10min from Regent street and around 14min from Oxford street! Metro nearby and many cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood (also a Starbucks around 4min from there). Also its a hostel to go alone, with friends and also family. Loved it!
Experience was pleasant overall, friendly staff and no hassle. The basement room we stayed in did leave room to be desired however, even though it is winter, the heating was on full blast when we arrived and the lack of an opening window made staying in it for extended periods very uncomfortable even after turning the radiator off. Sadly the air conditioner seemed to be not working, so the air felt stuffy and difficult to breathe In this particular room. (007which made sleeping very difficult for me personally.
Comfortable and clean beds but the family room was cramped. There are also signs that maintenance is not being undertaken as much as needed.Id have given a lower rating, (mainly because of maintenance issuesbut the staff were fantastic and the shared facilities such as lounge and cooking area good. All round good value for money and an enjoyable place to stay. Would go back if staying I. London.
Very clean and tidy throughout. Feels very safe and secure with pass cards to grt in and out. Generally quiet for a Saturday nights stay in a shared dorm. Reception staff struggled to smile / have warmth / appeared a little tense. But its a budget hostel so you get what you pay for. £30 for a bed in a shared room after a night out in the west end of London. Not the worst. Not the best.
I have stayed here twice now and would stay again. Check in is easy and the rooms clean. Theyre basic but have everything you need and would expect in a youth hostel. Theres a cafe and bar which serves soft drinks 24 hours a day, alcohol during normal bar hours. Theres free WiFi which is a nice bonus. They also offer a luggage store which is very useful in a big city.
Clean and well located. Bedrooms are basic, but the beds are comfortable. Great value for money if all you want is a place to sleep at the end of the day. Staff friendly and helpful. You can leave your luggage after youve left the room, lockers cost £3/24h
Overall solid hostel. I really appreciated the all-night made-to-order food available. The rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Some of the amenities were a bit shaky (the A/C wasnt great and one of the faceplates for the flush buttons in the ground floor bathrooms was offbut generally solid rooms.
Great location. Very clean. Bathroom in my room has decent wear on it. Needs new flooring. But not horrible. Kitchen is good and they have lots in the lobby. Only thing I didnt like is wifi was so bad! Only works in the lobby and part of the kitchen and it was so spotty! Kept logging me off :(
Very clean, very modern. Worked great for the Girl Guide trip I was on, they had us set up in two different rooms. The was a full kitchen in the basement we could use. Cheap way of feeding 10 people breakfast every morning. Bathrooms are small, rooms are decent size, nothing extravagant. The common area seemed nicely set up, never got a chance to use it. Would definitely recommend and would definitely stay there again.
