YEN Taipei in Taipei

Its alright, but there are better Cantonese restaurants in Taipei. Youd think that for the price they charge the food would feel more fresh. Decor is also looking dated, very mid-2000s.

The best Peking duck Ive ever had. Its served with many different add-ons and sauces that you can combine for many different flavors in one sitting. But be sure to order the duck ahead of time. The crispy, fatty pork is amazing as well.

A high-end Chinese restaurant serving good dim sum at noon.

Service was excellent along with comfortable seating. As for the food itself, I wouldnt say the taste is amazing but its something out of ordinary.

A premier dining spot in Taipei in a beautiful 5 star hotel. Sumptuous surroundings, beautifully decorated, and the top tier in food taste and preparation. It doesnt get any better than this, in my opinion. We tried set meals 1 & 2, and both were superb. Prices are typical for a luxury hotel, and service was beyond reproach. Views are spectacular if you get a seat by the windows.

Great Peking duck, ordered half which was great for 2 of us, and the signature fried rice (quinoa and fish, must order!), as well as an iberico pork tofu. All so good - we took away a lot of food to bring home too, and it ended up being extremely value for money. They gave us window seats too as it was our anniversary, as well as complimentary egg tarts. Impeccable service!

Dim sum lunch was pretty good. Had some very creative dim sums! The chashao and duck plates were good as well. However, the GuGu liousha baos 菇菇包 was disappointing... :/

Their food exceeded my expectations! You can definitely taste the freshness of their ingredients, all competently cooked. With soaring ceilings and views from the 30th floor, it’s a much-needed escape from the claustrophobia of many Taipei city-center restaurants. A trip to their dazzling lavatories will convince you to order yet another drink once you get back to your table. (No photos so you can experience everything for yourself.)

The foods and service here are amazing, and the desserts were particularly delicious!!!! Most importantly, the night scene is great!

Not impressed with the food. Our server was decent, but the attitude of the manager and the cashier lady were horrible. If you want quality dinning experience that worth the price, go elsewhere.

Special tasty cocktails with view of Taipei 101

A bit late in my this post . I have been to Yen several times over the last 3 years . During my stay at W in August 2019, we had 2 dinners and a lunch there. Don’t miss out on the Signature Peking Duck. Also I need to mention the multi tasking “captain” Mr Van; his anticipation of needs is exceptional .

We made reservation 9 days ago prior to our dining on Xmas day lunch, the entire service crew was rude, there’s wasn’t any smile or service by the crew. We need to raise our hand to get their attention! I notice it’s the same for other table tooThe duck was nice but becos of the heavy seasoning, dim sum selection is avgIt was a very disappointing Xmas day lunch as it was a xmas day that shld be full of festive feel but seeing the ‘black face’ attitude staff just turn us offWe r not expecting 5 star service but at least very basic courtesy, a disgrace to the warm hostility of Taiwanese. We stayed in Regent hotel Taipei & service was much top notch there

Puffed rice in seafood bisque is my favourite dish from this place. Rest of the dishes were really good too. You can’t go wrong with any of their signature dishes. Dim sum for lunch here is also really good. Great view and nice ambience

Great dim sum during lunch, A mix of traditional Cantonese, Taiwanese and fusion. Service is excellent. The view is fabulous as you get a great view of Taipei. The architechure is chic. Request for a table by the window as you can take in the view, the atmosphere and the great food at the same time. The food is relatively pricey.

We hosted a business dinner there. We arrived early around 17:00, and the reception staff was REALLY arrogant and unfriendly that she said there would be no service until 18:00. She particularly told us she won’t even give us a glass of water, absolutely no before 18:00. We were totally WOWed by how W service is.And some of dishes were terrible with odors. The stars are only for the night view.

Very good. I really enjoyed the bar. The view is stunning! The Cocktails and food are delicious. I realiy recommend giving the bar and the restaurant a visit. Since it isnt cheap it isnt possible for everybody. The Rooms are perfect. The Staff is super friendly and nice. The Service is fast and perfect.

Nice services. The high tea is great combination with excellent meal, desert and 6 shots of cocktail. Last but not least we appreciate the fantastic view of 101. Thanks for Amy’s excellent service. We had a great time here. Everyone should come here once in their lifetime. A spectacular place for hot dates or family evening break. We love it!

Firsdt the place is reallfy beautiful, and you have a nice view of Taipei, which is very pleasant. The restaurant is spacious, well decorated and the staff is good.On the other hand, we ordered some meats (combowith also vegetables and sonme fried rice. Weve got all the dishes one after one and we had already finish our main plate before getting the side dish...The wine is quite good but overpriced.

Nice bar at the top floor of W Hotel in Taipei, and price is also reasonable as well.

Phenomenally great dining experience. We made the excellent choice of ordering the duck ahead of time and it was absolutely fantastic, crispy and DELICIOUS with table-side carving, it was a show in itself. We also enjoyed the drunken chicken, pickled vegetables, tree funghi, scallops and a host of other dishes, too numerous to relay. My only recommendation is that you should skip the bottled water, it literally cost more than wine. The service was exceptional as was the quality of the food and the ambience. We dined relatively early on a Sunday evening (7pmso it was not crowded or loud.

This was the best meal I have ever eaten in Taiwan. The restaurant is beautiful with very high quality food. While you do pay a price for the experience, it is well worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant for a business dinner or special night out.

Yen’s is one swanky Chinese restaurant! The Las Vegas style decor of the W Taipei hotel lends itself to the ritzy Chinese restaurant on the 31st floor. If you want s seat by the window, we recommend making reservations. Any other table us just fine though. The vertical lines of the decor are interesting - ropes running from floor to ceiling, a very tall ceiling, caged light fixtures and so on continue the vertical lines theme of the W.Service is attentive and first class. Expect warm hand towels at the beginning of the dining experience and tea service throughout your meal - no teapot left at the table, the servers refill as needed throughout dinner. The teapot is warmed over s tea light candle at the servers’ station to keep it hot though.Each entree is brought out one at a time, which is great for ensuring each is enjoyed when at it’s perfect temperature. All of our entrees were delicious! For a part if 4 adults, including the 10% service charge, the total bill was $7000 NTD or about $228 US. Not bad, but none of us ordered any liquor. We definitely said yes to desserts and their mini egg tarts were delicious!The dining room is a bit cold - take a seater ladies.Wouldn’t mind going again if I wanted another elegant dining experience but with so many other options, we opted not to go back this week. Maybe again next time because the food, service, dining experience and value all get high marks from this reviewer.

Very nicely, elegantly decorated Cantonese cusine restaurant on the top floor of the W Hotel, with great views! Five stars for the excellent service! The small bar next door also is a great place to get some drinks and excellent views! Had the dinner set menu for $1,600+ 10%. Overall the food was pretty good, worthy of 4 stars, but not 5, unfortunately. A couple of the dishes were not up to par, such as the scallops crispy noodles that we had ordered extra.

The waiting time is WAY too long, the service is not worth the price we pay. I was really looking forward to it, disappointed experience :(

Went here after watching strictly dumpling’s video for their dim sum. We tried a few of their dim sum dishes and their duck. While everything was flavorful, I don’t think the spices and seasoning of the food match my taste buds. Only thing I really liked was the seafood soup dumpling. The ambience and decoration was really cool and picture worthy though.

Its delicious and sophisticated modern chinese Restaurant that likes Japnese. There is also a sense of quality, refined, very fashionable and highly artistic.

Lovely atmosphere and view. The staff is professional and friendly. We tried the afternoon tea set, so if you are coming here be ready to enjoy interesting coctails. Don’t make a lot of plans later as it takes a lot of time to finnish all the desserts and savory bites!

First off- service was good (but not great). Everything else is laughable:1)Waitress said if the dish did not say “per person” then the dish served 3-4 people. The dishes (for 3-4 peopleis more like enough for one to two people! VERY small portions. The menu items for a single person (“per person items”are more like single person appetizer portions. One person in my group ordered the fried prawns- two shrimp fried with panko (with shells still on). Another person ordered fried fish (“per person” itemand the fish was the size of 3 cm x 3 cm.2)Food quality- bland, under seasoned, and nothing special. All of our dishes lacked seasoning and are not original. Literally nothing tasted amazing- they looked nice (presentation I would give this 3 starsbut flavor I give 1 star. For the price you should dishes should be awe inspiring.3Tea- unless you are drinking the tea as soon as they fill your cup, you are left with a large cup of cold tea. Waitress does not check with you if you want your tea replaced because of this. The tea cups are about 3 oz. so unless you really like drinking tea fast, your left with cold tea to accompany your meal.4website mentions “Sophisticated Casual”. Why is it then I notice people in zip up hoodie sweaters, t-shirts, nylon rain jackets?Overall this is one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. This is Chinese restaurant in W hotel, service is just okay, it could be better. Plate is very small, you need to order a lot to get full. People talk loud here, if you need a quite place this is not a good idea to come.

Due to typhoon most places were closed so that meant dinner at the hotel. The restaurant is located at 31st floor. Since we didnt have reservations, we had to sit in the bar. Lucky we got a nice room in the bar. We tried different dishes and I liked almost all of them. They were nicely done and presented. Service in the bar area was little slow. Food is on the expensive side, expect $100 per person.

Always a good experience for having meal here. Must book the window seat at night to enjoy the sparkling Taipei.

At the top of the W Taipei Hotel resides the famous YEN 紫艷 restaurant. This is one of the best restaurants in Taipei. The food are created by main chef Kong Khai-meng (鄺啟明), and is a modern take on traditional Hong Kong cuisine. We went during lunch, so they were serving dimsum.The food were very creatively done, and the traditional foods were of excellent quality. For instance, the Milk Egg Bun (shaped like a mushroomis creatively made, and the filling is fresh, with actual taste of the fresh milk.The atmosphere is exquisite. The great service and elaborate decor makes the restaurant a relaxing and romantic place to eat. It could get a bit noisy.

Perfect is the only word I can say for this restaurant!!! they have good service, food,view and atmosphere. The first image for YEN is front desk, I just walked out elevator waiting my friends. They noticed that and try to bring me to our reservation seat even I dont know what our reservation name is. Second is food, I really like their name for each dish. If you understand Chinese, you will find all the name is very special, humor and meaningful. The best part is, I try to record what we ordered by writing, and they found it. They provided me a slip of paper with name of our order dishes. I try so many Chinese restaurant, their service is the best. Also the Food!!!

Enjoyed the dim sum lunch here, particularly the Polo char siew buns. Very modern and chic dining room plus a magnificent view of Taipei to boot. Must say that they werent very generous with the wine pours considering the high prices.

This place used to be one of my favorite bars in Taipei. The drinks and music are great. There is also a fancy view of the city since its at 31st floor. However now they have a minimum charge of NTD 3000 for a window table and NTD 1000 for a bar seat! Booooooooo... I guess I need to find a new go-to bar near Xinyi district.
