Amazing weekend at my cousin Michaels wedding. First class Hotel. Helpful staff, amazing rooms and great food.
I dont know about the rooms but the house is nice and so are the gardens. Farmers market every month a great event too. Well worth a visit.
Great hotel with excellent hospitality facilities. A good range of quality ales.
Absolutely loved the place . A great wedding venue, staff excellent very friendly no hassle and a bed to sleep in for a week
Our stay was just stunning -just the best!
Because I took my 2 grandchildren to the woodland trail and was charged £5 50 for each child who are 4yrs and 7yrswho are not really interested in flowers in total it cost me £16 50when the lady could of said there was another way to get on the trail Fleetham was an expensive afternoon to walk round the woods
A beautiful hotel, we attended for a wedding evening party. Superb staff and room
Wynyard Hall walled garden and woodland walk is a great way to enjoy a couple of hours. And the cafe is extra special with plenty of choice and food served by friendly staff.
Amazing place fantastic gardens lovely cafe and grounds
Excellent location, amazing potential as a venue just a little lacking in the attention to detail
Visited the gardens, beautiful place for a ramble and a cake. Lots of places to eat a picnic, or eat in the cafe.
Great location for the Spa, lovely day, only disappointment was the sauna which was lukewarm, otherwise great experience.
Exceptional service and beautiful venue. Grounds and halls are all kept to the highest standards!!
Gorgeous venue, lovely staff and really beautiful grounds for wedding pics
Outstanding setting and perfect in every way. Would love to stay there again but top prices for top notch venue, need a special occasion to come up soon!
Scones werent good our drinks were cold needed to request hot waternice clean restaurant
Beautiful grounds and gardens. Gorgeous food served too.
Beautiful place for a day out, the hall is beautiful and the gardens are stunning. The farmhouse cafe on site do a great selection of sandwiches, cakes and coffees with a gorgeous view of the gardens. The on-site gift shop (situated inside the cafehave a great choice of jams, breads and souvenirs to admire. The signage once on site could be improved to find the cafe quicker & easier… follow the signs for the garden to find the cafe and Glasshouse restaurant!
We attended a wedding reception set at this magnificent place, the former home of The Marquise of Londonderry, it was simply fantastic. The staff are professional yet friendly, nothing was too much trouble, I cannot comment on the bedrooms as we did not stay overnight.
Spa with afternoon tea. Very relaxing, especially the outdoor hot tubs overlooking the lake
We had an amazing day today it was a wedding gift voucher we hadnt had chance to use and we will be returning to celebrate our 1st anniversary amazing
We didnt stay at the hotel, just had a spa day. The location is brilliant, so gorgeous. The spa facilities are ok except for the shower with jets, the jets are broken, and herbal sauna which doesnt have any smell and is pretty cold because the door doesnt close properly. The biggest disappointment were the treatments, so not worth the money. Prebooked it two weeks in advance as a valentines gift and sadly regretted it. The staff were very friendly and nice but management needs to understand that when you charge this money for treatments, they need to be performed by qualified specialists.
The cafe has an excellent array of hot and cold drinks, as well as tasty cakes and biscuits. Be warned though as the shop shuts at the same time every day of 4pm winter or summer. The attached shop sells food, drinks and home furnishings.
Very good. We were celebrating a 40th Birthday. Staff were very accommodating. We couldnt use the Hot Tub due do the inclement Weather. We were given 35% off our stay and some Prosecco.
We recently got married at Wynyard Hall on December 11th 2021 and we had the most magical day which is largely down to all of the amazing staff at Wynyard making sure our dream wedding became a reality! As soon as we first saw Wynyard Hall we knew we wanted to get married at this venue, the grounds, statue room, ballroom, conservatory and chapel are absolutely beautiful and so grand, it was the perfect fit for our Christmas themed wedding! All of our guests kept on commenting on how stunning the venue was and a lot of our guests said it was the most beautiful wedding venue they have ever seen!On the run up to our big day we had Jill as our wedding coordinator who was the most incredible support to us making sure our big day would be as perfect as possible. We can’t thank Jill enough for everything, from showing us around the venue, the quick response to emails (even through all of the uncertain times that covid presented us with), answering all of our questions no matter how big or small. Jill made sure we had everything organised during our final meeting in the build up to the big day and was there when we arrived at Wynyard the night before to complete the hand over and even calming my nerves on the morning of our wedding! THANK YOU JILL 💖The day ran perfectly from start to finish, many thanks to Dan who was our master of ceremonies and went above and beyond to make sure the day went as smoothly as possible for us. The food was incredible, from the canapés to the wedding breakfast and finishing off with the best hog roast! Thank you so much to the front of house staff who were amazing the full day and delivered excellence service which everyone noticed! We could not recommend Wynyard Hall enough as the most perfect venue to get married at and we can’t wait to visit again very soon. Thank you for the memories Wynyard! ❤️
Lovely place! I just wish they hadnt stopped doing afternoon tea. It was always a nice, easy gift to get for certain people. The grounds are lovely! Its a really pretty place, but they need to start doing the afternoon tea again. My mom and her friend always went for the spa and afternoon tea, but they dont have much reason to go there now.
Loved the good in the rose garden restrsunt. But sligjtly disapointed in the fayre and thr fact thst the Hall is only now open for big events its no longer a hotdl such a shame gor a beautiful venue
Attended for Xmas fayre and paid prior for ticket. Waited over an hour to get in. A lot less stalls than promised. Staff abrupt when asked about how long we had to wait. Gorgeous place but not the first time we have had issues with event management.
Wynyard Hall is an amazing place, lovely grounds, tea shops, restaurants and farm shop. The spa is also good, quite small but its a while since Ive been. The reason for the 4 star rating was the Christmas Fair I went to yesterday, it cost £7 each to get in and was a little disappointing. I get that covid is still around however there were hardly any stalls compared to the last one and it still cost the same to get in and also you had to book a slot to attend and many of the stalls had run out of stock by the Sunday. Lets hope it will be better by next year.
Visited Wynyard Xmas Fayre today with friends. Not as many stalls this year, but that is down to Covid restrictions, still had a very lovely time. 🎄🎄
There aren’t enough words to say how amazing our wedding was at Wynyard Hall, but I’ll give it a try.The process of booking our wedding was easy and hassle free from end to end, working with both our wedding coordinators Ashley Popple and Jill Connolly. We booked our wedding with Ashley Popple, who was amazing in explaining to us what packages were available, what they included and for how much and showing us around the venue. Then when Ashley was promoted, we were seamlessly handed over to Jill Connolly, who helped us through the stress of the delay of our day due to Covid, putting our minds at ease that everything would remain the same and would just be moved back. Likewise she was amazing in handling our many questions in the run up to the day, arranging the menu and wine tastings, finalising our details and working with our suppliers to ensure everything was set up and ready for our special day.All of the staff were amazing, professional, polite and courteous and couldn’t do enough for us, with special mention to our Master of Ceremonies Charlie, who ensured that our day ran flawlessly from start to finish and made sure our every need was accounted for, and especially for storing our sons breastmilk in the hotels freezer and running to get it when we needed it, we were so lucky to be in your hands. The food was exceptional, from the wedding breakfast (expertly served by the staff), to the evening and following morning buffet, all of our guests couldn’t stop commenting on how tasty and well presented it was, likewise with the selection of drinks on offer. The menu tasting experience was also amazing, myself and my wife got to choose a starter, main and dessert each from the menu to try, as well as a sample of wines to compliment them. The hall was set up beautifully for our day and our decorations, tables etc. were seamlessly moved behind the scenes from the Chapel to the Ballroom and then onto the Conservatory and presented beautifully in each room. We’d wholeheartedly recommend Wynyard Hall to anyone looking to get married, it is second to none!
Lovely afternoon at Wynyard Spa. We highly recommend having a spa treatment, they are absolutely amazing! Especially the facial and the back massage. Best we have had. Afternoon tea to finish the day was lovely, really enjoyed our day.
Beautiful scenery you would think your in a Jane Austin film set. There is also a woodland walk. Trees and scenery are set out as if designed by capability Brown. They also have a Cafe, farm shop and rose bushes to buy as well as Wynyard Hall itself which would be the perfect place for a wedding or conference.
Visited the Spa for the first time and our treatments were amazing, lovely staff and such a relaxing atmosphere will be going back very soon, highly recommend for a pamper and time out from everything.
Poor selection of food for breakfast and unhelpful and awkward attitude if you have dietary requirements. If tried to ask for something that was not on the buffet (eggs), I got told it is a buffet breakfast and that is all there is. Buffet suggests and means choice. There was no choice especially for cooked breakfast, it is basically a la carte.I have a fish allergy which they knew, I was then served food which as I was about to eat got told oh wait that was cooked with the fish. The price of drinks is extortionate.I was booked in an executive suite and considering the price was small, the bathroom grout in the tiles was discoloured and around the taps was limescale (both could easily be sorted with a good cleaning solution and scrubbing brush).Would definitely not recommend.
Was treated to afternoon tea by a friend, fantastic. Sumptuous surroundings and everything was yummy, very tasty. Staff very good. Well worth a visit just to see the hall and surroundings.
Elegant and classy location for a beautiful afternoon tea. The hall is stunning and on a sunny day, you can sit out on the terrace overlooking the lake. Idyllic.
Twice in two weeks should speak for itself. Absolutely love this place and nothing is too much bother for the girls, prosecco in the hot tub rounded it off nicely for my daughters pre wedding pamper
Been a few times, still doesnt disappoint.Beautiful lodges, decor cosy but opulent. The change to self catering breakfast I though was a great idea , but my friends with me disagreed. Although the increase of price and then having to make our own breakfast , I can see there point.
Very disappointed, a group of 5 came to the cafe for a bit of lunch to celebrate a family birthday. Rang up and asked beforehand if it was ok to bring dogs inside, which we were told it was, only to be told we would have to sit outside when we got there, we had an elderly relative with us and the weather was poor so not an option we wanted to take. The options for food were very limited and a lot of what they did have had run out despite us getting there relatively early in the day.Very limited vegetarian options, I appreciate its a farm shop but a few more vegetarian sandwich options are not difficult to do. Sandwiches were very overpriced for the very poor quality, the sort you would get in a petrol station at 3 am.The staff could not have cared less, the girl behind the counter who served us was just throwing and dropping plates around, rolled her eyes, and looked annoyed and irritated whenever she had to do anything.I Will be avoiding in the future
Stayed in the Francis Ann suite (Dinner, bed & breakfast).Room was spacious, luxurious, clean and comfortable with great views of the lake and fields.Dining / bar staff were very good, friendly, polite and helpful. The ones that werent perfect, were young and clearly new and still training. Still very helpful and polite, just lacked a little experience (not a negative).Food and drinks, all amazing! The spa facilities were OK considering the covid restrictions. One spa staff member seemed flustered and stressed, not ideal in a relaxing environment, but they may have been struggling due to covid pressures.Spa treatments were very good, massage lady (nicola, I thinkwas very professional and friendly.Overall a great stay.
Fabulous place, great food, friendly staff. The check-in was a poor standard no consiage or effort to take you to the room; just casual directions , receptionist didnt get to her feet to greet us.
Had excellent afternoon tea... 3 afternoon teas and 3 gentlemans afternoon teas. Beautifully presented and delicious. Gorgeous surroundings and discrete but attentive staff.Well organised covid measures which dont detract from the experience.Beautiful, peaceful grounds, so worth a sit out on the terrace if the weathers good.Well worth the money, can highly recommend.
Booked only as I had vouchers that were close to running out. Paid £30 over room only price for breakfast. The room was comfortable but dated. We had booked a table for evening meal but the place seemed very quiet so we decided to cancel and eat out.Breakfast was continental only served to the room. Very disappointed with it. Given no choice of cereals, just what you were given. We were asked at reception if we wanted tea or coffee, but when I rang to ask were tea was, we were told we have tea making facilities in the room. Didnt ask if we had enough tea bags etc left.Wish we had booked room only.Nice grounds to walk around.
Afternoon tea served in a very pleasant and relaxed setting. Gluten and dairy free options available. The staff will welcoming and polite. I highly recommend this venue for any special occasion. Lovely indulgent cakes etc to tempt your taste buds.
Beautiful stately home set next to a small river in a large estate. The perfect venue for a large event such as a wedding/conference as well one of their popular afternoon teas. The Christmas Fair is always worth visiting for too.
Amazing experience for my husbands surprise 40th. I booked a private dining experience (30 guestsand everything was taken care of by the event coordinator through regular contact via email and phone calls. The service we received was outstanding and everyone kept it a secret even when we had arrived. The venue has such grandeur and is tastefully decorated. Our room was fantastic and I dont think I have ever stayed in a room quite as amazing as this one. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and this is what helped make it a wonderful experience, which we will treasure for a long time.
Afternoon tea with mother. This is a great venue for afternoon tea. The staff are lovely and attentive. The building is astonishing, I could spend hours looking at the decor.Mother has various food intolerances, hence this was her first afternoon tea..The staff were fantastic,.they practically developed a new menu for her. So she could could still enjoy it. Which she did and she loved it.So thank you to all the staff, you were great.
There’s nothing to fault.I stayed here with my partner and we were pleasantly greeted & showed to our room. The room was so clean & fresh with an amazing view. It has everything we needed and more. A perfect size and the bed was also very comfortable (for me as I like hard beds). The grounds were full of walks and the gardens are very beautiful. We also ate here and couldn’t fault the food or service! I even got a compliment!I would definitely stay here again & it is well worth the price.I paid less than what is advertised as I booked a room through Hotels.Com which has amazing photos of inside & out.
Wow! What a wonderful experience. We had the pleasure of having afternoon tea in the library on a beautiful Monday afternoon. The whole ambience was very opulent and relaxed. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. There was a lovely selection of sandwiches and individual desserts, presented in a very elegant way. The loose-leaf tea was a particular highlight! We didn’t feel rushed and eventually, after our second pot of tea, we set off to explore the stunning surroundings, which are always gorgeous. We would definitely recommend this as a special treat. We were celebrating 21 years of being together.
