In the Central Business District, this upscale contemporary hotel is 0.7 miles from The Andy Warhol Museum, 1.6 miles from Heinz Field and 18.7 miles from Pittsburgh International Airport. The polished rooms have free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs with premium channels, coffeemakers and city or river views. Suites add separate living areas with pull-out sofas, fridges and wet bars.Amenities include a complimentary local shuttle, a restaurant offering American cuisine, 2 lounges, an indoor pool and a fitness center. There’s also a business center and conference facilities, plus valet parking (fee).
The good: the location is good and the service is great. The rooms are clean and the common areas are well appointed and tended. The hotels bread and butter seems to be conferences and they do a good job. Additionally, the restaurant was really good. The bad: the room we were in was very tired. The beds were soft from age and lacked form. The wallpaper is peeling and stained in places. The bathroom has no fan ventilation.Overall: Given how good everything is here, its a shame the rooms are what they are because, at the end of the day, the beds are the thing. Hopefully, they are close to a renovation to bring this property to where it can be.
Nice hotel. Was very busy when I was there(concert definitely little pricey but cheaper than some around the stadium. The room was spotless but was little small. Shower was great. Great views from our room had breakfast at their restaurant in morning and it was good food(little priceybut everyone that worked at this hotel was just great. Id definitely stay again if needed
Do you like stained carpets?Stains on the ceiling?Large amounts of black mold in the shower and sink?Scratched and just beat up chairs?Leaky shower head? This is your place!Im certain the rooms were wonderful when they were renovated in the early 2000s. But, the rooms are very tired and are in need of a good sprucing up.The location is wonderful which is why we booked it. The price was right which is also why we booked it.However, we really wished we spent an extra $50 a night and got something much better.
We spent a week here for our annual baseball trip. PARKING is stupid. $38 a day, we literally parked around the corner for $20 a day. On top of the $230 a night for our room. My biggest complaint was calling daily for towels. On the 3rd day when we noticed no one had came to our room to make our bed, I called the front desk. I was told they are short staffed and no one will come to your room until you check out. With the overall cost and time checked in there, I expected more. The hotel bar bartenders and servers were best encounter we had all week in the hotel. Again because of staff shortages, the bar was completely closed on Monday. There is a coffee shop that makes and serves all the Starbucks brands and drinks, but dont accept the Starbucks app for orders or payments. The best thing about the hotel was its location. We were within a 1 mile easy walk from the park, we walked it at least once a day while there.
Staff are absolutely fabulous, but our room has major issues. Our room was MOIST and never dried out. Smelled wet. MOLD (!!!was growing on the bathroom ceiling. Beds were squishy springs, but slept well. Room got cool but it was a wet cool feeling. Will not stay again if visiting downtown.
My opinion of this hotel is about a C-. For the cost of $275 I expected more. Location was great for us, however the hotel is run down. The furniture in the room is old and not comfortable. You can tell at one time it was a 4-5 Star hotel but not now. The hotel in general is not clean looking. Floors in our room were dirty and the shower area had mild dew around the grout. The staff was fair. I called the front desk they answered put my call on hold and never came back to take my call nor called back. Then when we were looking forward to breakfast on Sunday at their hotel but NO this didn’t happen because the restaurant wasn’t open due to hotel not being filled. So overall I would advise others to look elsewhere until they remodel this hotel!
This review is for the hotel itself not staff. The staff members were really accommodating and helpful! However, I do not recommend this hotel for solo travelers or for privacy.I walked into my room and there were people already staying in it! The front desk was super understanding and gave me a new room right away, but I felt unsafe knowing that I walked into a room someone else was able to get into. I moved to my upgraded room (thanks!and saw that I was still in a room connected i with a suite door. The issue was that I could hear EVERYTHING. I could hear when people turned on their water, when they were knocking on others’ doors, when they were flushing next door… it was not a recipe for a good night’s sleep unfortunately.
I was able to check in early which I greatly appreciated. The staff were all pleasant and professional. My room was just your standard hotel room but I slept VERY well in the bed as I found it to be extremely comfortable. Had a nice view of the river and Heinz Field. I thought the price was very good for what they offer. Had a great stay, no complaints.
