World of Owls in Omagh
Description
We had a wonderful school visit from Mike from world of owls, along with some really wonderful creatures. Our nursery pupils have been studying nocturnal animals, so it was wonderful getting to see them up close and personal! The children learnt lots of interesting facts and information and all had a chance to even give the wonderful Harley a stroke.Thank you from everyone at Banbridge Nursery School, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
MoreGreat place to visit for all the family, owls are in lovely condition and very interactive with people. Reptiles and indoor animals are good too
MoreVisited yesterday and was met by 2 lovely girls. Beautiful creatures, really sad this place doesnt get any financial support to help with the enclosures etc. All animals look beautifully healthy 👌
MoreFantastic day out! Getting to see all kinds of birds of prey up close was an amazing experience. The staff are very friendly and a shout out Mick who kindly let me hold/stroke some of the excellent birds. Mick was able to give me back stories to the birds which was very interesting. I would highly recommend visiting World of Owls.
MoreBeautiful place, such a fantastic day out! Would highly recommend coming here to support the wonderful World of Owls! All staff members were very pleasant and helpful. All animals are kept very well in such Beautiful surroundings. Well worth a trip!
MoreHad the best experience visiting the world of owls. My friend and I went up, in the hope that we could full fill a life long dream of holding and owl. Mike, the owner, after some gentle persuasion, graciously agreed. It was so amazing to see so many breeds of owls in one location. We will definitely pay another visit to have the craic with Mike and the owls 🦉
More100% compliments to all volunteers. Who, without complaint work throughout the year. Also it is clear they enjoy and love the work they do. Great work guys and girls, keep up the grand job. Slainte!
MoreVisited World of Owls last weekend and would highly recommend! Mike is an exceptional host with the most welcoming rapport and a fantastic knowledge and commitment to the animals in the sanctuary. He was kind enough to help me tick a box off my bucket list by taking the time out of his busy schedule to hold Bowie the wonderful barn owl 🤍 Will definitely make this a regular trip.
MoreSlightly sad place, assuming COVID has not been easy on them. Very overgrown, would be good to have the times of the shows available before arriving. One male staff member was very nice.
MoreAmazing day on Sunday with my sister at World of Owls. Lovely environment for all of the animals to enjoy. Very evident the animals are well taken care of. Even got to hold one of the owls at the end of our visit and learn some super interesting info on the birds that live there. Highly recommend!
MoreGreat place to visit for a day out! Lots of birds and even some reptiles and insects to see (pop into the shop on your way out to see the latter). An amazing organisation who are doing great work considering the staff are volunteers and COVID has hit them hard - keep it up guys :)
MoreAbsolutely amazing. We travelled over an hour to World of Owls and was worth the visit. You can tell all animals are looked after amazingly and staff were super friendly and hats off to Mike for everything he does. He’s got an amazing site and does fantastic work outside of looking after animals! Would highly recommend!
MoreAmazing place run by loving volunteers. So many beautiful owls and birds of prey to see and they also have a reptiles section inside. Great day out with a handy picnic area, would highly recommend.
MoreTo be honest, I had never heard of the place before and Ive been to Northern Ireland many times in my life. But when I got here, I knew that I shouldve found out about this place a long time before. Many different species of bird of prey (hawks, buzzards and many moreand of course loads of owl species, some reptiles and other small birds can be found here. We got our own little private tour by one of the employees whos called Mike. Great chat and many useful insights about the life of owls and how we can understand their way of living. A big shout-out to all the lovely members of staff there, we had a great time!
MoreFantastic visit and talk. My nephew told the gentleman the barn owl was my favourite bird of prey and we got to both hold him. Very friendly people there and they all volunteer their time. My nephew was over the moon to receive a feather off Griff the golden Eagle, he only gets 2 feathers a year and sonny got one !!!! Made his day. I got a barn owl feather aswell which is lovely. If your in the area please go along to visit and support them with their brilliant conservation work
MoreReally enjoyed are visit today the owner Mike went out of his way to show us the owls and let my kids hold a few really nice guy doing great work with this place give it a visit and help support them .
MoreHighly recommended. Big thank you to Mike for being fun, outgoing and friendly. Great care taken with all the birds.
MoreFantastic time spent at World of Owls. Mike was so informative, friendly and kind. Definitely worth a visit!
MoreI would have paid more to see the birds and they are everything they were expected to be, such graceful and beautiful. The only negatives were the birds round by the chickens were tethered to a post which made the experience somewhat sad. Then to top it off a bull terrier type dog came running at me growling, it did scare me a bit and as they didnt seem to concerned and they didnt tie it up so I decided not to visit the gift shop with my children. There were alot of children about and I think if a dog is going to run and growl at you it should be tied up.Apart from the experience with the dog it was very pleasant.
MoreWe saw a presentation by the World of Owls staff at Carrickfergis castle and it was fantastic! I wish we had time during our trip to visit the center and meet their other birds.
MoreAll animals very well kept, lovely staff. Great for kids. Has a picnic area and they do a little show with a couple of the owls.
MoreBrilliant people amazing birds plus more
Absolutely amazing experience! Came into our class for summer scheme and the kids loved seeing the animals! Mike was fantastic with the kids interacted with them so well, would definitely recommend world of owls they’re just brilliant with the animals so gentle and passionate with what they do!!
MoreThank you Mike for visiting Parkview school today. The kids absolutely loved the beautiful owls, you really made their day. I would highly recommend World of Owls to everyone. Mike was not only very knowledgable about the animals, but genuinely cared about their welfare too! He was fantastic with the children and I would happily have him back in my classroom again. Thank you so much!!!
MoreHad an amazing day with the family! So many gorgeous owls and birds! Would definitely recommend!
MoreVery run down, birds lacking water, not good value for money, no facilities for food or drink.Overall appearance dirty and needs a good clean and tidy.
MoreAn absolutely brilliant morning at World of Owls. Lots of different owls that are beautiful and interesting to look at. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell that they really care for the owls and all the animals at World of Owls because despite the name, there are lots of other animals to see too! Its an absolute hidden gem of a place that doesnt get the publicity it truly deserves. The place doesnt just capture owls just to display them to people. Each and every owl has its own backstory on how it came to the World of Owls. Each owl unfortunately cant live in the wild ever again so World of Owls literally saves these owls lives. Thank you for an amazing visit. We will definitely be back.
MoreLovely family run business, many varieties of birds that have been given a better quality of life thanks to world of owls, also some reptiles, fish etc to see, lovely way to spend some time with the family, would definitely recommend 😊
MoreA wonderful place run by passionate volunteers - all the owls are rescued and we got a chance to meet one of them (Harleyup close thanks to Mike, who was extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. You can tell they still need a bit of support to bounce back after covid so would highly recommend a weekend trip!
MoreWe really enjoyed out visit to World of Owls on Friday. I visited with my husband and my 2 daughters (age 8 and 4). Fascinating to see such beautiful birds up close. Our favourites were the raven, the kookaburra and the snowy owls. Staff were really friendly and took time to chat and tell us all about the birds. Well worth a visit.
MoreGreat wee day out, lovely big owls. Kids really enjoyed themselves, highly recommended
MoreKids loved it. Staff were excellent, friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their conservation work. The owls and raptors were fascinating. Lovely visit.
MoreHad the best time today at World of Owls, seeing all the lovely Owls and other animals in the reptile cave! Kids enjoyed and Mike give us lots of info about the animals, he was great and so lovely!
MoreA fantastic spot. Way more owls than we thought would be here. Very interesting. All the staff are volunteers so it definately deserves a wee visit! Inexpensive also!
MoreA nice display of not just owls but also birds of prey (falcons / eagles), even hens and ducks, and some reptiles as well. Dont forget to visit the shop at the end as some of the animals on display are tucked inside. Well worth a visit for those interested in birds.
MoreLovely forest setting, and a great selection of Owls and other birds of prey. Well worth an hours visit.
MoreThe most amazing place for lovers of Owls and birds of prey. Mike and his volunteers have such passion and love for the beautiful creatures in their care, it is inspiring. Me and my family spent mothers day here and had a brilliant experience. The team at World of Owls are doing a brilliant job with no help from outside sources, they have been hit hard with restrictions due to Covid and deserve help and support. Highly recommended for children of all ages and animal lovers of all ages.
MoreGreat place to visit, especially if you have little ones to entertain. This place works as a charity so all the money actually goes to helping the birds.
MoreThis was probably my youngest sons highlight of our trip to Belfast! We came to Belfast for a family wedding and due to the love my sons love of ALL birds, this was first on our list. Bright and early on Sunday morning we came to the world of owls and had a truly lovely time. Its so clear they adore the birds and animals in their care and its heart-warming to see a place solely run by volunteers is so well run and well loved. 100% recommend xxx
MoreAmazing place for visiting. The owls are incredible and the staff are volunteers. They do a great work and they love the animals. It is not like a Zoo, they are a charity. Thanks and if you can go to the place, you will enjoy!
MoreReally enjoyed visiting World of Owls - very reasonable entrance fee, got to see a lot of owls, learn about them and see other animals too such as ducks (black ones that shine green!), tarantulas, lizards, chickens, you name it. There was a really friendly dog there, too. Opportunity to take a photo with an owl, and the gentleman who worked there was obviously passionate about what he did and couldnt have been more helpful. If youre in the area you must visit this place! Plus there are owls here that have been in the Harry Potter films (Hedwig), Game of Thrones and Robin Hood.
MoreSuch a great day out . Its pretty big and has so much different varieties of birds and other animals. The staff were super friendly and lovely and Mike is a legend!!! Highly recommend. Thank you we will be back :)
MoreThe place is amazing and very well kept. When visited there were a few cages going under refurbishment but still the collection and diversity of birds is very good! Surely some areas could be in better condition but given the very low price (in my opinionof the tickets and the fact that is run by volunteers makes the effort really impressive! Congratulations to the guys taking care of these pretty animals, Id definitely recommend a visit to the 🗺 of 🦉.
MoreThis is an absolute must, me and the missus visited a while back and the owls and other birds they have are beautiful, will be booking in to get to hold the birds asap!
MoreWorld of owls is a wonderful place for people of all agesAn amazing collection of birds all wonderfully looked after by Mike and his teamWorld of owls is worth a visit and very worthy of support
MoreThis is a hidden treasure a sanctuary 4 birds. We visited this week and Mike went the extra mile 4 my grandson Jenson who is blind. He recognised he cldnt see things like everyone else and he made a huge effort 2 include him and make his experience memorable. Big thanku 2 all the staff. We will b back......
MoreWe absolutely loved our visit here. It was drizzling but even so, we walked around and saw all of the Owls and hawks. The owner, Mike came over and told us in depth about the birds and even took one of the owls out for us to see up close. Then he let my grandson hold it and took our photo. All the animals there are rescued. He is a very kind-hearted man. I highly recommend a visit there.
MoreReally nice way to kill an hour or more on a Sunday afternoon. Excellent value and the staff were friendly. The owls and other birds were gorgeous. For those interested in creepy there were some spiders and snakes to check out too.
MoreCall before you go if you wish to hold an owl as they do not do it all the time. Staff was very pleasant and the birds are well taken care of. It is a bit out of the way if you are not staying in the area and certainly not what you expect however it is worth the trip.
MoreAwesome spot. Really intresting animals and the staff are very chatty and full of information. Way more than just owls here too, i would definetly go back
