World War 2 museum Kisama - Museum in Kohima, India
The cemetery looks beautiful, very clean and maintained. The things I didn’t like is most of the soldiers are British only the top floor is of Indians, as if Indians in India did not contribute to World War 2 in which Nagaland was quite involved. Otherwise the cemetery is very nice and you get nice view of Kohima city.
Must visit place if youre at Kohima. Youll enjoy the extracts & history there.Ticket charge: Rs. 10/- per person.
Apart from the traditional tribal architecture and galleries. The Naga Heritage Village also has a World War II Museum located within the complex in Kisama, near Kohima. It is a well curated museum with numerous artifacts and illustrations on the Battle of Kohima and also on Indian National Army.It probably would have been better to visit during the time of the festival when members of the various tribes would have been present and we were able to see the performances that they put on along with exhibits of artwork, carvings, sculpture, etc. Nevertheless it was lovely to wander around undisturbed and use our imagination.
Good collection of artifacts from WW2. You can know how this war was so important for both the sides when you visit this museum. A must visit in Kohima for anyone who likes history.
