Steaks, seafood & beer brewed on-site & presented in classy, convivial surrounds with jazz bands.
This one is really hard to address, be cause the staff was very kind and hospitable. The band was great. The owner was very involved. With all that being said, the bomb must be dropped!! If the focus can be shift towards the cooking, I think this place could be a great hangout. Every red meat we order was extremely tough! BTW there were 4 adults 2 kids one order was the chicken alfredo, the meat was dry and the alfredo sauce was chalky, I had to con my nephew for some of his nuggets. Ps. As I mentioned, the band was great, I think if you had round tables your customers could have the option in facing the band. The round tables would be more inviting and cozy. I think I could revisit this place in time just to see.
Me and my sisters came to listen to the band that was AWESOME. On November 6 2021 we were told at 8:30pm that we could not be seated because the club was closed. There were maybe 10 people there. We asked youre closed how long will the band be playing and she said until 10.00pm how crazy was that. She sat us but never gave us any water. Even though we were seated and was there for an hour and a half they were closed so the waitress said.
After working all day came in for a draft beer and fish and chips! Yum!
Went their for my Dads birthday. My wife and were the only ones in the dining area. We ordered 1 order of nachos to share before the rest of our group got there. They took about a half hour to get to us (not exaggerating). We finished the nachos and our plates with napkins sat there without the waitress (Sarahto take them. Finally I moved them to another table. This would occur throughout the night with her. TAKE THE PLATES!!! It was laziness. The cocktails were horrible! I tried 3 different ones. I think Sarah got mad because I didnt like the cocktails. I asked her to change the Cosmo because it had no flavor. When she came to take our order she SKIPPED my wife and I. I was upset. I told Coco and she apologized. She asked if we wanted to order. I said no Im done with this place. She offered an appetizer and I said no Im good but thank you. She was nice until we closed out the bill. After that she denied us anymore drinks when we asked for more. Not for me but for my Dad. It was her idea to close it out early and without asking if we wanted anything else. Bad experience.
Never disappointed with Woodys. Came here for drinks and appetizers and ended up staying for dinner. The waiteress was friendly and new the menu which was great. Highly recommend to every one. The fire cracker shrimp is one of my favorites.
Enjoyed the ambiance...Need a tester on taste on all food choices for quality assurance...Its should draw people for the food and not the music and bar because after all its a restaurant...lot of room to improve in the food department
You can thank me later. Heres the secret to having a good time here. Eat and drink before your arrive. The food and cocktails are horrible. Nothing on the menu is good or an acquired taste. A real chef and craft cocktail artist and this place would blow up and have a line waiting to get in. The music bands are awesome. I love the people, the owner is present and the ambience is engaging with all types of folks. I desperately want this place to succeed. Although last nights band was "just okay", other bands were superior. Im not saying dont come, Im saying, eat drink then come. You are welcome.
This was my first time coming here. It was the 2nd day they re opened after the pandemic so the menu was limited. I had the brisket and it was so good! The chef came and personally went over the menu with us. The waitresses and servers were very friendly and professional. They all personally thanked us for our business and I will come here specifically because they made us feel welcomed.
I had the brisket burnt ends--they melted in my mouth. They were outstanding. The only other disappointment was the breaded mushrooms--they were definitely ho-hum. If you really like mushrooms dont bother. All things considered I think Woodys is a very welcome addition to the Moreno Valley restaurant scene. We will definitely return.
Had my bday celebration here last week. Wonderful time! My entire party goers were happy! I was allowed to decorate which added that extra touch. The employees !!!! ANGELS! Thank you Coco, Kelly, Fresh, Tony, the band, Wayne the owner and all that was there from the start to the end. Specially on January 18 yawl worked that place!
The man where the food is being cooked answers your questions nicely when asking about the food. The place is clean. My only complaint which wasnt a big deal is they put a bunch of people behind us who were a little loud but not over bearing. The prices are reasonable for what we had. Chips and dip were fantastic. Jalapeño burger was not Massive (thats a good thing). Very tasty. Band was really good too!
Food is good. Service is excellent. Our server Ashley was on top of everything. The man where the food is being cooked answers your questions nicely when asking about the food. The place is clean. My only complaint which wasnt a big deal is they put a bunch of people behind us who were a little loud but not over bearing. The prices are reasonable for what we had. Which was the buffet with ribs, brisket, chicken wings, salad, veggies, and sweet yams.
Great atmosphere, great service. Chips and dip were fantastic. Jalapeño burger was not Massive (thats a good thing). Very tasty. Band was really good too!
The service is very slow. The buffet is not good at all cold food ribs are tasteless except for the pre bottled bbq sauce dumped on them the brisket supposedly smoked for 11 hours had no smoke ring or had even had the littlest taste of smoke flavor freaking sorry excuse for bbq Mac and cheese literally has canned nacho cheese for the cheese lol. Just avoid the buffet unless you just want to eat salad.
I rate place a big fat "0". This place needs to close down. The service is terrible. The waitress never came back to check if everything was ok after serving our plates. The food was tasteless, not cooked right. The live entertainment was very enjoyable. My husband and I will not come back.
Food not good at all,, I got the ribs they were fatty no sauce no flavor. I sent them back they sent out the same thing again fatty greasy no flavor meat.,the, beans were burned over cooked coleslaw was nasty,, wife ordered fish and chips the fish and chips have no flavor also,,, my wife rated her meal #4 ,,I rated mine a 1 out of 10,,,, music wasnt bad.
Theres a lot of friendly staff that work there, the service was decent, a quiet place to eat. The atmosphere is casual/upscale casual A nice place to dine alone, or to bring friends. But also for professionals and for business meetings. I dont think its appropriate for small children. They open at 11:00am to 12 midnight, during the hours between 11:00 to 2:00 they have a buffet. Or you can order off the menu. Before a live band comes they play the best music over the speakers chosen by the owner. Its easy listening, relaxing also the play.. sade, prince, fleet wood Mac, to name a few. At evening time its more upscale casual and dressy. Plenty of tables with white linen Tablecloths and a live band through out the week starting at 5:30, 6:30, or 7:00pm depending on which night. they also have a dance floor.
First time that I have ever felt invisible. Asked the hostess up front if I could sit at the bar and she was the last employee there that seemed to be able to see me. Sat down at the bar, thirsty and hungry. Employees seemed too busy chatting with each other to wait on me. I sat down at 6:25 PM, gave it 10 minutes and gave up. The place wasnt busy at all and had plenty of staff. Pretty disappointed as I had already researched their beers and was ready to order when I came in.
We decided to stop by and see what replaced PH woods. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Delicious food as well. One of my biggest problems with places were you have to be served is the service between the waiter and customer. Im sorry to say that first our food was extremely delayed because the cook was new and had to redo our meals. After we were done of course we wanted to pay and leave. It took Iover 35min for the waitress to bring the bill by this time my arms were crossed and I was burning my 7yr old bugging to go home and still waiting. This whole time Im watching the waitress at the bar very attentive to everyone there. I get it, maybe the tips are better there . However, if u have customers outside the bar please give them the same attention. This experience was all about "waiting" for long periods of time. Sorry to say i wasnt to generous with the tip.
Went here for our date night and the food was amazing! Tried the BBQ sampler platter. All the meat was perfectly tender and falling off the bone!
I was impressed about the decor and easyAccess to the location of the restaurant.Plenty of parking. I had the buffet and it was excellent. I do mean excellent. The only draw back to me is there was no dessert. But I was completely satisfied, even with out the dessert. The gospel group LBC was top notch. I was pleasantly surprised on how long the set was. All in all I had a wonderful day the Lord provided me. Nobody left early.I will definitely return again. 😎
I dont mind paying $$$$ for some bomb food but Woodys Resturant is not it!What I tried to order was no longer offered at the restaurant despite still being on the menu (no big dealso I went for the ribs as an alternative. These suckers tasted like they were covered in ketchup to disguise their fatty boiled gray meat. Not a single person at our table enjoyed their meal.Theeen, brace yourself yall... I was given the wrong drink (which I realized AFTER I took a sip off itthe waitress comes back to retrieve it, passes it off to another waitress who then delivers it to another customer. I was floooored! Then to boot, service time was ridiculously slow, so much so that we had to track down another waitress to hand her our check with the cash inside just so we could cash out and leave. As im strapping my 3 yr old into the car, our waitress magically reappears as she starts chasing us down with another employee in tow thinking we were dining and dashing smh. If she had been paying attention to her tables she could have spared ALL of us the embarrassment. For a place thats trying to achieve that fine dining atmosphere, this place is failing hard
Live music! Great food! Attentive service with a smile! The environment / atmosphere though okay for families is geared more towards adults and couples. There is a separate room that can be reserved for birthday parties or other group functions. Service is prime there too.I would definitely recommend Woodys Restaurant. Whether you want the buffet or to place an order from their menu, you will be impressed by the tenderness of their beef and barbeque chicken and the quality of their sides. There is a bar as well.
The food was great. Especially the brisket. The ribs fell off the bone. Music was an added bonus! Sauls service was awesome! Everyone was very friendly and courteous.
The family and I attended Woodys on a Saturday evening, unaware they have live music playing. On this night it was Motown, which was fantastic! For starters we had burnt ends as an appetizer. My wife tried the sliders which was amazing because it allowed her to try 3 small versions of various burgers already on the menu. She loved them! I tried the sampler. Believe it or not, even though the BBQ was delicious, my favorite part of the meal was the damn coleslaw! I dont eat coleslaw, but I loved their coleslaw! The only knock Id give Woodys is nothing big, but I feel like they havent decided what to do with the room immediately to the right as you enter. The rest of the restaurant has a cool vibe; white table cloths and black napkins with a big bar and a stage for music.
This is the second and last time we will eat here. The first time, the food was not great (over cooked steak), but server was friendly so we decided to try again. Our party ordered three burgers. I ordered medium. The food took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive (restaurant had 4 tables with guests so it wasn’t busyand all three burgers were very dry. The medium was cooked to well. The buns were disproportionate to the patty and stale. The BBQ burger had a small spread of sauce- barely enough to taste. The server never came to ask us how the meal was. One person ate half their burger, the other two had about two bites, basically leaving the entire meal on the plate. When the server came over to deliver the check, she didn’t even ask if there was an issue with the food. The place was mostly empty and the food is the reason. It’s too bad, because they have live music and we need better dining in this city, but Woodys isn’t it.
Four of us went in for lunch. Arrived at 11:45, ordered four salads. Waited until 12:40 and had to leave without being served as we had to get back to work at 1. Asked server what was going on at 12:30 and she said they would be out. Nothing at 12:40 so we had to leave without getting served our food. Will not be back ever again.
My wifes sister took us to this brew pub. The food and service was excellent. You can order from the menu or you can try the buffet. We ordered from the menu. I ordered the grilled salmon which was excellent. My wife and her sister ordered the brisket. Very tender, but not as moist as they would have liked. My wifes sister friend ordered the ribs that were fall off the bone delicious. As I said excellent food and brew at a fair price.
No hostess. Bad and ridiculously small overpriced buffet. Boiled ribs 😧 no gravy... No posting outside that there would be gospel band so was not expecting that at all. Should have be notice outside. Bad service...had to chase waitress down TWICE to get check THEN it was the wrong check!!! Asked about Veteran discount and she said next time ask her beforehand!!! No next time. Horrible experience.
Tasty food and house brewed draft beer, an excellent place to go!There’s Live Music 3 nights a week too, including Motown on Saturday night. Better reserve early for that.Happy hour specials from 3to 6 make Woody’s easier on the budget and did I mention the food is tasty. We tried the blue mussels, chicken skewers, popcorn shrimp, fish and chips, baked potato, and the wheat with orange and citrus beer that Woody brews in house. All were fantastic. We had the portabella mushroom sandwich and the turkey burger on an earlier visit and that brought us back.We will be back to try some of the entrees next time. Try it, you’ll like it at Woody’s.
This place offers a nuance to Moreno Valley by brewing their own beer and pairing them beautiful with their food. I was there today and I had the Milk Stout that they probably won’t have again, it was definitely a great batch, medium bold flavor with notes of coffee. Their bruschetta was generously proportioned and had a eel balance taste between the tomato and cheese.Hope y’all stop by!
Great ! Nothing but good things about this place ! Dominique was our server ! She was excellent! Will be back ! Entertainment was great !
Our experience was just OK. We went during lunch time on a Monday afternoon, it was dead inside and the lunch buffet wasn’t mentioned to us. Our server was very friendly, gave us beer samples and checked on us just fine. The food was just ok as well, we ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer and were disappointed with how they looked, they looked and tasted like just the skins of a pickle, they were just flat rectangles. My husband ordered the Western Burger and loved it! My mother had the Fish and Chips, she only got 3 smal pieces of fish and substituted her chips for sweet potato fries, we weren’t told nor did it say on the menu that the fries come drizzled with maple syrup, my mother is a diabetic and ordered those as the healthier alternative not expecting them to be covered in syrup. I had the Philly Cheesesteak it was good, bread was burnt and wish there was more bell pepper and onion in it, but overall tasted good! This place seems nice, but for a place that has table cloths and glasses on the tables and looks so nice inside should consider their servers having uniforms or a looking a bit more put together.
This is the coolest welcoming, good food, live band spot that I have been to in a long time. Our waitress CoCo was amazing. This is now one of my new feel good places. Did I mention Woody mingles with everyone and makes sure you have a great experience. 👍🏽
Well, we went there wanting to love it. That building has been vacant for so many years and we were thrilled to finally have a nice restaurant back in it. The wine was good, the oldies music was great. But, the food was mediocre at best. It was smoked but nearly tasteless. My Ribeye looked, felt and tasted like a New York strip steak and was badly overcooked. The asparagus spears were also over cooked. My friend had the Smoked Sampler and it too was over cooked. His corn bread consisted of one teeny cupcake-like piece of bread that was hard as a brick bat. I dont think I have EVER seen cornbread made like that. The portions are good size but, the meal with 2 glasses of wine cost $79.00. I was SO disappointed for that amount of money. All I can say is go try it and form your own opinion. Maybe it will get better with time.
It was a chill environment. I enjoyed the band. I had a Long Island; it was strong, but there was way too much sour. I added more Coke once Id drank it down enough. The appetizers I had were really good. One was the brisket ends, the other was some type of bruchetta (sp?). I was excited to try the buffet, and subsequently not impressed. I was expecting more offerings; not Golden Corral, but more than 4-5. The Alfredo was ok. The cornbread was so so. The chicken wings had great flavor, but they fell right off the bone as if they had been boiled. I like my chicken to have a little bite to it. Didnt try the risotto. My first slice of brisket was great, the second was cold and very dry. One member of my party ordered salmon and asparagus; the presentation was fabulous. Made me wish I paid more attention to the menu before going with the buffet. I was with a large party and understand that can be a challenge, so Ill withhold judgement of the service.
Went to Woodys two Saturdays in a row. The food was wonderful! First time we ordered off the menu..its was very good...second time the buffet..I still cant stop thinking of the brisket ..it was tender and flavorful..the ribs were fall off the bone ..excellent! I really enjoyed the band and the servers were friendly and looked like they enjoyed their job. I will be back! Only one suggestion..the food at the buffet to be kept warmer..other than that I just wish I had two stomachs..lol. Great Spot!
This was my first time to Woodys, and I have to say it was pretty damn good. Went for lunch and there wasnt too bad of a wait. The restaurant was clean and everyone was very pleasant. Although there is a lunch buffet, we opted for the Cuban, and pulled pork sandwiches. Both were fantastic. We also ordered cocktails and a hazy IPA. Cocktail was STRONG and fantastic (much appreciatedand the IPA was also fantastic. Next time Ill go for dinner, so I can try something different. There is also live music at night. There is also bar seating, but the set up is done nicely. TVs are set up the walls out of sight from the rest of the restaurant. Its nice not to have to have sports playing unless you want to watch them. This is recommended for anyone in the area, plus its always nice to support a local, small business!
Food is good but the service was awful. We sat at the bar and there was 3 of us and the waitress only took the food order of two of us and walked away. We asked for water and only one of us got water, the other two had to wait 30 minutes for water, once we got our food. No refills of water. Beer tasters are 4 for$10 thier hazy beer was awful but thier tangerine IPA was good. Oh yeah we only got one set of silverware and napkin. They didnt have a beer list and after being closed 2 days for the holidays the bar area had nats.
Great atmosphere wonderful wait staff food is delicious and the music is always awesome.
Amazing food. Excellent beer. Excellent service. Beautiful restaurant. I recommend visiting this place. Its one-of-a-kind for Moval. There arent many places like this around. I would even say the quality of the food and the Beautiful decor Rivals some of the best places in Riverside and Moval
The sweet potato fries with the maple glaze were absolutely fantastic. My burger was perfectly cooked medium and the mushroom aoli was really tasty. Service was good and my water didnt stay empty for more than 3 minutes. Will eat here again!
Excellent!!! Ambience, Food, Music, DecorDefinitely coming back
Glad to see this location back in business. Atmosphere was great. Live 3 piece band. Surprised me for a Monday night. Food was good. Our server, Anthony L. Made the night very enjoyable. Quddos to him.
Had the Smokehouse sampler: Brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. All very delicious. The BBQ sauce that came with the meal was off putting in taste so our server brought a different sauce. A much better sauce and it complimented the meats. The mini cornbread loaf was dry and tasted like it was a mix, not made from scratch. The coleslaw and BBQ beans were good. Had the cheesecake for dessert. Delicious! There was live jazz music that was very enjoyable. We will go again in the future.
Great music! The bartenders suck, the drinks were garbage straight watered downed! We waited almost 2 hours just to get our food, they are all over the place, taking orders and never getting your food.. finally a young waiter came and took the orders right.. Big shout out to Anthony he was a big help on us getting our food👌. Chicken and cold slaw , brisket, chicken wings were delicious.. Ive given a couple of months before I try them again
Their customer service is not what I expected. They need to step it up. There wasnt a host to greet or seat us, so we sat at the bar. It took the bartender/waiter about 10 minutes to notice us. We were told that we could only order some things off the menu because it was 9:30 and they close at 11pm. I understood that during their soft opening it would be a little rocky as all new restaurants are. But months later all of kinks should have been worked out. Not good experiences both times I was there.
Order off the menu. The buffet was just ok. Not worth the $20. My wife had the seafood pasta and said it was really good. The buffet had the same food on the line from the time we got there till we left. Some of it was cold, some of it was crusty and some was just old. Music was nice. Wait staff was pleasant. They are working out some wrinkles, so Im sure once they are truly up and going, it will be nice.
My boyfriend saw this place online and told me about it... So, we both wanted to try it and ordered food to go. I ordered the brisket combo that comes with cornbread, coleslaw, and beans. When i looked inside it didnt look like much food for the price of $19. When trying everything it was actually okay. The cornbread had a little sweetness to it, as well as, the red beans. It was pretty good! The coleslaw was good and brisket was good to, however, It didnt have that smokey taste like i was hoping for but it was still good. Overall, i would rate this place a 3 star, because its bit pricey and the food is average..
The food was good and staff was very friendly. The live music was a nice surprise and i will be going back.
