Woodlands Lilongwe - in Lilongwe, Malawi
Great
We went on Tuesday and the service was quick as they were not busy. We went back on Thursday and it was packed and similarly the service level dropped. We were sitting close to the bar and a bit hidden to the waiters kept ignoring us. Excellent food.
Stunning venue, many options on menu. Great food!
I really liked the ambience. The nature environment and the sharpness of the waiters was of note.
Our first trip here for dinner we left with no complaints everything was perfectBut our second trip was horrible. We were unattended for an hour our food took forver to come and it was cooked really poorly and tasteless.
Appreciated the lovely ambience, tasty food (sizeable portions), timely and helpful service, spacious interior and outdoor seating areas with beautiful lantern lights in the garden at night.Despite how full it was, our assigned waiter was available for every need, especially helping our child guests to be comfortable. The menu has continental, Indian, southern Indian and Italian cuisine.
Located in a woodland, so its has a really nice, quite ans tranquil environment with trees surrounding the place. That made for a beautiful place for an enjoyable dinner. The decor is African themed, with artwork and african clothe on the tables. We all loved the authentic Indian variety of dishes. The curries were well done, rich, creamy, thick, spicy and tasty. The portions are nice as well, three orders of food fed a group of six!The whole team loved this restaurant! Highly recommended! Will definitely come back again!
The food is very nice,we enjoyed a lot
Beautiful garden, beautiful place, great food!!!!Havent been in the rooms
Excellent service and hospitality
Outstanding camping spot and restaurant. Flat, grassy, shaded camping site with large clean swimming pool, spotless ablutions and hot water.Amazing Indian cuisine in the restaurant. We really enjoyed our stay here.
Best of Indian foods & tranquility of woods
Was In Lilongwe on a Business trip. Woodlands was a go to place for food every day. Amazing food and fantastic service. The owner would also check on us the food and service at the table. Lovely person made us feel at home. Definitely would come back stay and eat at woodlands.
Service was slow. Had to wait over an hour for some fries and kebabs. And our drinks took forever to arrive. I expected the food to be better considering the price. The ambiance is great though, with beautiful scenery.Maybe it was a rough day but I wasnt impressed with the service.
Good for food but not for stay. Its a scary place for stay. Property is so old, rooms are smelly, water is contaminated, AC & Geyser dont work properly. Bed are full with Cockroaches and bugs. Wardrobes and lockers dont work and get locked and makes noise like horror movies. Its a scary place for solo.
Delicious. The portion is not enough
We had a beautiful meal in the beautiful place
Really good, authentic curry, great atmosphere and defo worth a visit.
Very nice wooden mature garden.Nature lover would enjoy their time there. The steak were all way overcooked.
Very nice Indian food and Nice environment
5 stars for the restaurant - a great family friendly space and menu. Highly recommend the chicken bartha!4 stars for accommodation but great value for money. Simple rooms but clean and comfortable. Reliable Internet would be a good addition though.Highly professional and friendly staff.
An ambient New Year eve dinner with my boys did not disappoint. The boys are very particular about where they eat. A good sign is that they unanimously want a repeat; so do I. Worth the money.
Outstanding place , great food
Excellent food - Indian (North to South - all), Italian, Chinese, Continental, etc.Unparalleled taste difficult to find in thousands of kilometres.Accommodation is in the lap of nature, gentle animals can be spotted frequently. Rooms are cosy with all amenities.Every month on the last Saturday there is Farmers Market. More than 100 shops are setup from 7.30 am till 12.30 pm. Itβs nothing less than a carnival, come, shop and support local businesses.
My stay was absolutely amazing, I love the place in general especially the environment.
Great outdoors in the heart of lilongwe warm cosy vibey, with amazing food.
Amazing food and customer service. The owner is just wonderful
Good Indian cuisine coupled with great service.
Good food. Nice environment with trees surrounding the place. Great for children. Bar doesnt have music which is boring for a typical Friday night or whatever. Classic music playing in the background would be ideal. Doesnt have to be loud music, thats unnecessary considering the setting of the environment.
Beautiful place for an enjoyable dinner. Loved the Indian variety of dishes. The portions are nice as well.
Its a really good place. Doesnt ring good memories for me though because of how the date went or didnt go..Nonetheless, good place.
I love the food. My favourite is the Chambo with mashed potatoes. I love it. I also enjoy the live band that plays there sometimes. The last Saturday of the month, they host a farmers market, Perfect place to get fresh farm produce.
Had a fast lunch. Food and service were very good.
Camped here for 2 nights and really enjoyed ourselves! The ground isnβt the most flat but there is a lot of shade which is nice. Typical camping bathrooms which could do with a bit of a revamp. The food is really good but not the cheapest for those who decide to camp here to stay on a budget. Would definitely stay here again though as the staff were all super helpful and friendly!
The ambiance is really great. Lots of room for kids to run around in nature. Theres a good restaurant there. The food is okay and the staff seem to spend a lot of time chatting amongst each other than looking out for tables.Theres a pool "in the woods" near the restaurant. And once a month the farmers bring their produce to the farmers market.
This place has lovely chΓ’teau which is unique in Lilongwe. The restaurant has some delicious variety Indian food and good bar.The staffs are full of hospitality!P. S. They also have monthly Farmers Market event. Love the natural environment of this place. In the morning, I can still see monkey running around!
The food was AMAZING! The menu has a lot of variety (except for thier dessert menu, but the kulfi was still deliciousand everything was made with care. Humble place, simple food but DELICIOUS! Will definitely be back. Best butter chicken Ive ever had.
The whole team loved this restaurant! Authentic indian dishes. Very attention staff! The owner prepared custom meals for our choices. The curries were rich and creamy. Not too hot and very delicious. We enjoyed every dish alot. Please leave room for desert too! Highly recommended! Will definitely come back again!
Great food. Wonderful outside atmosphere and reasonable prices
I love Woodlands. The owners are so kind and hospitable, and all of the staff are on top of things. The food is delicious and itβs such a peaceful area in the middle of the city center.
The lodge was comfortable, staff very helpful .Apart for the poor connection for the WiFi but the owner was very helpful.
I love the food.. It is some of the best Indian food I have had.. It is also a cheap eat for regular meals. Their menu has a diverse variety. One of my go to meals in the spicy bird.. See pictures below for reference. Photo credit, satellite entertainment π
Very, very basic sites, ablutuons seriously need some tlc and updating, stayed one night as there was nothing worth staying longer for
Very friendly staff, clean rooms, hot water and good good at the restaurant. It is a nice experiment in the forest!
Such a great place to camp! Warm showers! Helpful staff who take a lot of pride in their work. The owner personally greets each guest. Also, the food at the restaurant was very good. A piece of nature in the middle of the city.
Restaurant visit: We only visited for supper as a group of eight on a work trip evening meal, but enjoyed a fantastic supper of outstanding Indian food. Some of the best I have had in some time. Good service, and while the wait for the mail was a little long, it was well worth the wait, plus the staff were attentive with drinks and snacks. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant. Plus, there is a lovely pool area and bar.
great environment. perfect place for nature lovers that want to take a trip to the woods right in the city
Hotel located inside a forest with nice garden view individual cottagesWi fi was not working in the rooms and the bath towels would have been betterRestaurant is fine with a good menu selectionThe hotel owner and his wife used to come on a rounds during dinner time and chat with the guests to check if they are comfortableThere is also a spa where you get a good massage session only for 20,000 kawcha
Great lodging surrounded by nature. Decent restaurant, good breakfast. Hot water minimal. Pool available. Small craft market inside.
Woodlands Lilongwe has a big stretch of land consisting of an events garden (ideal for weddings), a campsite and 10 executive chalets. Each chalet is nicely secluded with a big private view.Woodlands is situated on about 9 hectares of land.Right by the Lingadzi river, there is a range of small wildlife around. Bush buck, bush pig, baboons, vervet monkeys and deer. If youre lucky you get to see the crocodiles in the river, no swimming there! On top of that theres a quality restaurant serving continental food as well as a specialized Indian menu. Two Indian chefs make their favorite dishes with a lot of love (and spices). With regards to price vs. quality, theres no hotel or lodge in Lilongwe topping this.An oasis of quietness and nature, but still conveniently located right in town, Woodlands has a lot to offer for both business stay as well as tourism.
