Woodfire Grill in Vernal

Incredible food! I got their pulled pork sandwich and even though dine-in was closed due to covid-19, they brought it out to my car in less than 5 minutes! The portion was very large, with a wonderful smokey, tangy bbq sauce, and the fries were perfectly seasoned and crisp. I will definitely be back!

Food fresh, help is friendly, food cooked how I want when I order steak or prime rib. Pans always kept restocked with food. The only improvement would be their dessert area needs to be kept up as well as their other areas.

Food was great and the waitress was right on it the whole time we were all there!😊

The service was good, our waiter kept our table clear and our drinks full, but he didnt stick around long enough to be a bother. If you are in Vernal and hungry I highly recommend it.

Got smacked in the face with the delicious aroma in the air from the food as we walked in. Kinda pricey (to be expected though). Employee that greeted us was very kind. Tables were clean. Food was really good. Wasn’t super packed, bathrooms were clean. Parking is kind of a pain but that’s really my only complaint.

This place is phenomenal. Extremely friendly staff, great food, great price. Went in for lunch today with some friends from out of town. My friends struck up a conversation with the owner, who pulled up a chair and talked for several minutes even though it was completely obvious he was extremely busy. Would recommend to anyone.

My wife and I ate there on Jan 28, 2020. the price was okay. Therer werre numerous things to eat. Were very disapponited in the food. The macaroni and cheese was cold, the breaded okra was cold, the green beans were cool. these are items that were on the hot bar. they were neither warm or hot. Very dissapointed. Told the waitress about the items being cold. They did not seen concern and they did not even discuss it with us, They just dropped the issue. I can say the salad bar was good. the dessert area was out of most desserts.Overall, this was very disappointing, since our friends had recommended it as the best place to eat. Will not go back. If that is the best place to eat, then Vernal is really lacking in good places to eat.Woodfire Grill you just lost a good customer.It makes me appreciate Golden Corral even more becase their food is always hot, they listen to their customers and more interested in their patrons than Woodfire Grill.

This was hands down the beat buffet i have ever been to. High five to whoever the amazing chef is. The steaks were SO juicy. I’ve never had a sirloin that juicy before!!! Everything was so delicious!!! Vernal is soooo far from home but if we ever come to visit or pass through again this is our first stop!!

I mean really, can you go wrong with a buffet? Looks like this was was a Golden Corral, Trooper 5150 loaded up on pot roast, mashed potatoes with gravy, chicken tender, teriyaki chicken, bbq spare rib, mac n cheese and wild rice. Top that off with a nice buttered roll and ice cream for dessert.Staff is very nice, small town country folk.

Staff was extremely friendly, not one thing i had personally i didnt like. little to no wait time for drink refills, beef tips were phenomenal. the buns and butter reminded me of texas roadhouse but had the atmosphere of a golden corral, and they always brought different entrees out not just the same one. also whatever rub they put on that brisket fit it good definitely worth the money spent.

Pretty darn good.Above average buffet (still had some bland itemsbut having the option to add a 99 cent 6oz Sirloin steak was awesome.$15 for adults (because you have to pay for drinksand $7.50 for kids 12 and under doesnt break my budget so I was happy.

The food was amazing and our waitress was super nice and was on top of everything perfectly. Ill definitely go back.

This all-you-can-eat buffet used to be a Golden Corral restaurant before they shipped out of Vernal. I believe that the local management was able to hold onto everything except the brand, as the experience is exactly the same as it was back in the day. Its not a glamorous as other Golden Corral restaurants Ive been to, but for a place thats managed to escape being abandoned, its one of the best buffets in Vernal!

Bread was great! I also enjoyed the chicken Alfredo & garlic roasted potatoes. Some other dishes were a little gross. But overall tasty! I loved the ice cream.

Decent selection of food, food was pretty good. Prices where ok. Service kinda sucked as ours kept sitting with a group of people and rarely came around.

Clean, nice and friendly. Most often everything is nice and fresh, maybe because we came earlier in the day we found the pizza and fries not well, they definitely needed to be replaced with a fresh batch. With so many choices we still enjoyed ourselves.

Not what I expected but in a good way. The buffet actually has really good food and selection. Steak was cooked properly. Staff is very friendly and efficient, and it was very clean also.

I dont usually like buffets, but I loved this one! Great salad bar with many items for a great salad. The food was yummy, and the deserts were very tempting!

Clean, great service, great food. They have options for everybody. They also are AMAZING in how they support the community and are always giving back. Ive also had their catered food at events and always been very happy with what they serve for that.

Chicken alfredo, fried shrimp, peach cobbler, rolls, and salad bar were all beyond delicious!Onion rings, hush puppies, and fried chicken were not worth eating. Onion rings tasted old and stale. The gravy for mashed potatoes had good flavor but was so watered down it ran all over the plate. Wouldnt even stay on the potatoes. It was like carrying a plate of chicken broth back to the table.Overall I liked it and would return.

Food was good for a buffet they also have steaks for an additional charge which were pretty good. We all enjoyed ourselves.

It is a great place to get a nice lunch if you are in a limited time line. The food is always good. Buffett style so no waiting for service. We often have employee farewell luncheons there. By far the easiest and most delicious for big groups in limited time.

Great, friendly staff. Its clean. Good price. The food was for the most part very fresh and delicious. The steak was amazing. Although the Ice cream was a bit more ice then cream. And there isnt a particularly large variety. But over all very nice.

Buffet was overall decent but some dishes were bland or overcooked. The steak was tough and dry as hell. Staff were friendly and on top of it.

Absolutely loved it. Clean, cute place. Our waitress was a sweet older lady. And my omelet was the best I have ever had.

We were there to shop at some of the local retailers there and decided to stop at the wood fire grill this is her second time being there prices are high food tastes like its comes out frozen but its pretty tasty the brisket is very tasty and I do believe if we were to go back or when we do to go shopping there Im sure that we would return

Food was cold. Chicken wings were cold. The peach cobbler was cold and it didnt look all the way cooked. Did have the new york steak. That was very delicious. The salad bar needed to be refreshed.

I have somewhat of a difficult time with buffets, as I compare to the high quality food I can get elsewhere for the same price. This review is based on that.Im not the type who goes to buffets to load up multiple plates. I go to get exactly what food I want, and thats basically it. This is probably why Im not a huge fan of buffets in general.Woodfire Grill is tasty, and the food doesnt seem like it has sat out or been reheated. The steaks are seasoned well, the natural flavor is still there and has not been drowned out. However, the steaks are medium quality. My New York strip was about 15-20% fat, which is never fun. Having a fifth of your steak end up being fat is a little annoying. My wife got one as well, and it most definitely had a large amount of fat on it too.All in all, I dont think the food is bad. However, i cant help but thinking for the high price I could go elsewhere and get some pretty awesome food.If youre like me and dont go to buffets just for the unlimited food, this buffet is among the top in my book. Normally I completely avoid buffets due to bland food. Here, however, its not bland and overall is pretty good. My only gripe is that its incredibly expensive if youre not planning on loading up multiple plates to take advantage of the buffet.

Good Food.. Great Service, it sits in front of the Days Inn, I went in for dinner, unfortunately I didnt splurge for a steak, but I enjoyed the buffet,the young lady that was my server kept my glass full and was very nice, next time I am in Vernal, Il be back!

The food was very good and the waitress that helped us was very friendly and professional. My 9 year old kept commenting how polite she is. All the other staff was also very good. My only complaint is that they ran out of smoked meats right before we got there. We missed the brisket, ribs or chicken tonight. The smoked meats are excellent!

Delicious food! And the environment and establishment is kinda more like what you would expect going to grandmas house for dinner just because. No rhyme nor reason or expectations on special occasion just that good home hearty feel. Some place to go that you would want to be.

Great little restaurant/buffet server was a little slow and you have to ask for refills. We ordered a steak and they were ok at best. We sat down for our salad and our steaks came out before we could eat our first bite of salad. Would have preferred them with our main course. Still I would eat here the food was above expected for a buffet.

Great food, great and kind staff. The steak here is amazing and all you can eat buffet. I personally dont eat steak often because Im not a big fan of it, but if I were to choose somewhere to eat steak it would be here.

So upon entering for dinner with my wife and 2 kids, I was not offered a steak. Nearly 10 minutes into dinner the pot roast ran out. I asked if there was more and was told it would be out soon. NEVER came out in the 30 more minutes we were there. If youre going to serve fried catfish, it needs to be hot. It just needs to be checked often so it isnt cold and soggy. Our waitress barely came by and only to clear plates. Never offered a refill until I made it VERY obvious it was empty. In my opinion, if you are going to charge more than Golden Coral and try to fancy up a buffet, then DO IT! Dont get lazy. We will be back, but not before I speak to a manager. Very disappointed.

There is a large range in variety with the buffet. The food is good, adding on a steak is the best way to go. Their steaks are fantastic!

Steak is the only reason i give it a "1"Seasoned and cooked very well.The rest of the food was bland and barely warm.Service was at best "okay" she only offered me a refil, my moms drink sat empty for over 30 mins while we waited to see how many times she was going to walk past us (to hide in the back seating area to eat her own food withoit washing her hands when she came back out. We could see her through the glass doors)without noticing my moms empty glass.There was an ant crawling all over the empty plates and napkins.Will not be going back, at least i dont have to hear my mom mention wanting to try there every time we drive by now.

For starters, they had no clean cups when we got there. The buffet bar was a hit and miss. There were a few fresh hot things that came out, but it was obvious by the looks that some things had been sitting there for a while. The guacamole looked like it had been sitting there all day long. It wasnt even Brown like it usually turns when it sits for a while it was so black I had to stare at it for a few minutes before I could decipher that it was supposed to be guacamole. Most of the stuff at the taco bar was out. When we went to the desert bar after our meal there were four little churros left and they were Krispy krunchy, the pies looked like they were dried out from sitting there all day long. three of the deserts (which we dont even know what they were supposed to bewas empty. Now for the good stuff! The ribs were very delicious the smoked beef was delicious! They had these pork chop things that was either in a honey sauce or some kind of sweet sauce, those were delicious also. Just before we went to get dessert they had brought out some chicken alfredo fettuccine or penne pasta, that was probably the hottest and freshest food that we found. We were just traveling through for the weekend, but if we ever come this way again we definitely would not stop there again

I eat at many buffet still and steak was really good with meal. Very good food and lot to chioce. Have come try it.

Even better than what this place used to be. Roast is like real Southern BBQ....smoked and tender. Any place that has a wonderful salad bar is right by me! Peach cobbler is like ours in the dutch oven...yum!

Thank you so much, folks! Not only is the salad bar and steak excellent, but the employees of Woodfire Grill went above and beyond for us today. After we got some to-go food, we went to get into our car and immediately got backed into. After a fiasco with the accident, the employees came out to inform us that we were welcome to come back in and get fresh, hot food after we sorted out everything out with the responding officer.Although we had salads that were fine on this chilly day, we are so thankful to the kind man who chopped our salad, and the man who offered to help out with some fresh food.Worth going to for the service alone! We will definitely be returning.

They are very senior citizen conscious and money conscious of their regular customers and cater to their wants and needs the food there is always hot or cold and changed out the solid foods are fresh and they taste amazing and the chicken is fried chicken is hot and taste good too the owner is very active in his establishment and cares about his customers and employees and make sure there is everything possibly needed to make sure that this establishment runs smoothly and appropriately for the restaurant its a lot cleaner than it was and the plates are a lot nicer no more plastic

The name implies this is a grill... it is exactly like country buffet but slightly worse. This is your typical feeding through full of whatever bacteria makes you sick. Its $13 if you dont want the roast they call "steak" $3 extra for the 8 oz "steak" , $12 for the 12 oz "steak" and $14 for the 13 oz "steak". $3 for a drink. Dont forget the %20 tip they ask for too. So if you want the 13 oz "steak" with your buffet it will run you $36 per person! hahahaha they dont even provide the pepto youll need 30 min after you leave. Not horrible food but you can get twice as good for 1/3 the price at cafe rio across the street.

Love the food and service at the new Woodfire Grill! The owners and staff are wonderful! The food presentation is exquisite, especially for a buffet! And its always so tasty. You definitely get your moneys worth at this restaurant...

The employees were great, salad bar was delicious, and steaks were cooked to order. But, some of the food was not very good. Mostly the food kids enjoy.

Not much to choose from. The rolls are delicious! Takes awhile to get drinks & table cleared. Price wasnt to bad. Tho probably wont be back.

food was good, nice variety to choose from. hard to get attention of staff, dirty tables sat empty uncleared and stagnant for extended periods of time. it seems like every time i order the raspberry ice tea it is always at the end of consentration and very very very watered down i always end up have to wait for them to change it or order a different drink. over all it wasnt the best, but it wasnt the worst either.

Lunch buffet was fantastic, 99 cent sirloins were amazing, staff was friendly, we will definitely make it a point to come back when were in the area.
